Taylor Wassep, founder and creative head behind the THEMA Magazine had a brilliant idea, which I totally fell in love with.

(Click HERE to find the latest issue of THEMA magzine)

For his latest issue of THEMA, he had the idea to use one ofย  Shakespeare’s works and then interpretate it in a Tim Burton inspired way.

You can imagine how straight that went to my heart with my Tim Burton addiction…

So for my pictures I chose Hamlet. Since I wanted to bring the head of Jack Skellington into my pics, becasue I totally love that character, it seemed the perfect match ๐Ÿ˜‰

Even more happy I was when Taylor asked me if I would like to be the cover girl for this special issue and if I could style another look. Together with Tempest Rosca who took the picture, we decided to give a try on Lady McBeth ๐Ÿ˜‰ The outcome you can see on the very last picture of this post.

I hope you can see the fun I had with those special pictures and how dear they became to me.

Thank you again Taylor for such an amazing theme for the THEMA Magazine and that I again was allwed to be part <3

The mastermind behind some of the most iconic art styling and modern filmmaking – Tim Burton, magically crafts story line thought the guise of whimsical fantasy mixed with overtones of dark elements. The result being a masterful experience that only Tim Burton can create. Likewise, William Shakespeare is thought of to be the greatest English writer in all of history. He too, created works of art that cast it’s character in to dark turmoil and suffering. For the enjoyment of it’s audience and unknowing the modern world. Combining these two creative geniuses pays homage to their brilliance in both writing and style. Please enjoy, Shakesburton

Surrealistic Autumn with Asteria, EMO-tions and E.V.E Studio

asteriapurplemoonemotions-1

Surrealism was something, that I liked a lot in school and university when it came to art. The possibility to combine things that do not belong together or even play with sizes to really unnatural proportions can be a lot of fun. To mix dreams and reality as well has a very attractive side for me.

Surrealism:

Surrealism is a cultural movement that began in the early 1920s, and is best known for its visual artworks and writings. The aim was to “resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality”. Artists painted unnerving, illogical scenes with photographic precision, created strange creatures from everyday objects and developed painting techniques that allowed the unconscious to express itself.

Surrealist works feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur; however, many Surrealist artists and writers regard their work as an expression of the philosophical movement first and foremost, with the works being an artifact. Leader Andrรฉ Breton was explicit in his assertion that Surrealism was, above all, a revolutionary movement.

Surrealism developed out of the Dada activities during World War I and the most important center of the movement was Paris. From the 1920s onward, the movement spread around the globe, eventually affecting the visual arts, literature, film, and music of many countries and languages, as well as political thought and practice, philosophy, and social theory. [Wikipedia]

E.V.E Studio lately inspires me a lot, to do more surrealistic looking pictures, because Noke keeps releasing so amazing art pieces which are super cool for little sets. This time it was the “Chained Tree” from E.V.E Studio, that brought me on the idea for todays pictures. The tree is part of the “Whispers Gacha”, which originally was made for Chapter 4. To give the whole set more ambience feeling I added the golden version of the “Ivy Tree” (which as well was part of a gacha from E.V.E Studio), some dry grass from [we’re closed] and the cute “Floating Watering Can” from striped mocha.

asteriapurplemoonemotions-2

First I thought about doing a creepy Halloween themed story, but after looking at all the gold it called more autumn that actually creepy Halloween at me :p.

I remembered a wonderful body suit with a cute leather harness from Asteria, that I did get not too long ago. Together with the awesome “Lost Mind Headdress” from PurpleMoon, the “Jane” outfit from Asteria it made the perfect look for a warm autumn picture series.ย  Since I was in a total autumn mood by now I added some tights, as I had the feeling, with naked legs, I would freeze like mad outside *snickers*, but the amazing “Sheer Tights” from Izzie’s took care of that ;). The “Jane” outfit from Asteria is made in 3 pieces. The sleeves, the body suit and the little harness. and you can mix and match with different colors as well if you like.

asteriapurplemoonemotions-3

The amazing hair cut is one of the latest releases from EMO-tions called “Melanie”. With the long hair that falls down straight over the shoulders to the front it looked amazing with the head-piece and the outfit and was the right match to get the feeling for the look as I wanted it.

I learned something again… even if you plan on something spooky dark scary, it can turn out as something warm and light :p

LOTD 10/01/2016 – Try to build? Or just pushing prims? Maybe both?

sysevestudio-1

Playing with self-built sets becomes more and more fun :p

I never thought, that I can do that. I see so many amazing builds and sets from other bloggers and I adore them for doing that. When I try that especially with furniture and houses, I always have the feeling I am doing something wrong – I have no clue why but it never looks like I want it :p

That is why I mostly used inworld locations for that kind of pictures. But sometimes, if you are not allowed to rezz, sometimes you come across the issue, that you can’t place your avatar as properly as you would like.

sysevestudio-4

Building your own set means, you can do what ever you want and place yourself as you like. As I said before, I leave the natural settings of wonderful landscapes and realistic environments to those who can do way better than I am :p , but I lately found my challenge in some editorial, artistic looking sets. a great help with those are for example stores like 22769, E.V.E Studio, DRD, Newchurch, striped mocha and Nomad, to just name a few of my favorite ones ๐Ÿ˜‰

E.V.E Studio I do like for their very artistic creations. I love the way Noke sees her art in a very colorful and futuristic world. Her imagination seems to have no reigns and I really do love that as it inspires me a lot.

The “Cyber Flower Pins Lights” were one of theย  releases of E.V.E Studio and when I unpacked them, I immediately wanted to do something with them, even if I did not know yet what or how…

The “Cyber Flower Pins Lights” come in 4 different versions – one with and one without fireflies on them. With 8 different colors the structures are perfectly to create a set or use them for deco. To get the full beauty of the flower pins I suggest you turn the advanced lightning on. The flower pins are mod and you can resize them or even play with the lights, something i highly appreciate as you have control over the brightness and sizes and can customize it to your picture idea.

sysevestudio-2

The look for this picture, was not easy in the beginning. I experimented with some cyber futuristic things first but for what ever reason it looked always wrong. Then I tried with something romantic/mystic but again it felt wrong. I kept the flowers up and gave up on the look for a few days, as I experienced if you try to force something together it never will look ‘right’ and taking pictures is just no fun.

Another day I came across the “Trianon” dress, which was released for Collabor88 before. I totally loved the asymmetric look of the dress with the one side jacket. With the longer part on the jacket side we have some amazing ruffles and an amazing detailed shoulder part, while we have a very clean look on the other half with kind of tight body suit. I added the “Occult Sleeves” from a jacket I found at ISON, as I felt something was missing for the look I wanted to have.

sysevestudio-3

The cool hair was made by [sys] as well and is called “Shinzo” with the option to color some wisps they were perfect to the “Trianon” dress colorwise and the sweet rose added a romantic touch to it. The collar as well is part of the “Trianon” dress. With all the pink in the outfit I decided to put some pink on the set as well and used the “Dancing Petals” in pink as well from E.V.E Studio.

Again I has great fun pushing prims and working on my own set, even if doing inworld shots on wonderful sims and locations is fun too and will happen again soon I am sure ๐Ÿ˜‰

More and more I like the idea of blogging with friends. It gives so much more possibilities even if it might be a tiny wee bit more time intense as you need to find times when you can shootย  together, but they are worth every single second ๐Ÿ˜‰

This time it was the return game with Tempe. She did a wonderful picture of us both not too long ago and the deal was – once she does the pic and once I will. (Link to the post/picture)

So this time it was my time. First I thought about lingerie, but to compete with the picture Tempe did – impossible! So I thought about something different. I was thinking about, what I do love most and as well about the craziness we both have and came across an idea…

I IMed Tempe, asking her what she would think about a post with [sys], since we both like to blog them very much (yes I follow her blog and flickr certainly*grins*).

So it was a given, we needed to do something crazy or editorial or even both :p

We came across, that we both own the “Venus” dress from [sys], so Tempe was going for the black/gold version and I used the golden one. The basic idea was “No reigns, no rules – just go what you feel” and we both came up with something wild looking – I simply loved it. Again it showed why we go so well along, our craziness goes so well together :p.

For the set I immediately had the idea of a lot of gold, when Tempe sent me a snapshot of her styling. One of the latest releases was the “Flowers of the Golden Apple”. The huge golden apples come in 2 versions – once with and once without that sweet golden/white flower petals on the bottom. I added the “Splashing Droplets” in gold which were circling around us since they are animated ๐Ÿ˜‰

The cute balloons I found at the ‘Book of Daniel’ fundraiser. They come in different variations but for today, I certainly chose the golden one.

Last but not least, the golden ‘rain’ in the back, I created from the “Segmented Curtain” made by 22769.

We had again a great time and I experienced once more how awesome it is to work together with a real friend. More fun, more ideas, more challenge;) Let’s see who I will poke next… I think I already have an idea…

Sweet & Cute

azul-5

A babydoll in black.. that sounded like a challenge for me*grins*

I really do have a cute side even if it mostly exists in the shadows ๐Ÿ˜‰

azul-8

The amazing “Brigitte” babydoll from AZUL, dragged out that sweet side and I really had fun doing something with it. “Brigitte” is a mix between flexible prims and as well mesh body appliers/body layers. The basic dress goes directly on your body weather you use your system avatar or one of the popular mesh bodies. AZUL offers appliers for Slink, Maitreya, Belleza, TMP and Omega. The cute bow and the amazing skirt prims are super flexible in a very natural way. I tried to catch the softness on the pictures but if you see them inworld they look even better!

azul-6

Now how to style that sweet babydoll… Certainly I could have done a bedroom looking style but I really wanted to go different, since I did so many lingerie posts already lately :p.

I remembered the “Savage” legwraps from the last round of The Fantasy Collective. I wanted to use them so badly before and never found a matching look. When I put them on they immediately made a wonderful contrast to the cuteness of the babydoll.

azul-9

So the dress and the leg wraps are really solid and already make a statement, but I still wanna use some accessories and as well shoes. They should all be somewhat filigree and so my choice fell on the “Elowen” set from Wicca’s Wardrobe. I only used the arm parts, the headpiece and the necklace. With the HUD I was able to match them to the golden parts of the leg wraps.

For the fingers I used some rings of my favourite prim rings and nail maker – Formanails. Ivi Bing offers amazing detailed jewelry for hands and nails.. I never found anything comparable somewhere else. All her accessories usually made for Maitreya, standard avatar and for the casual and elegant version of the Slink hands! The ones I used today are called “Simple Rings” and they were right the kind of rings I wanted, to not overload the whole look.

azul-4

Last but not least the amazing sweet and curled hair I found with Tukinowaguma. The “Helga” hair style I liked so much because of all the wisps and curls as well as the pulled back part with the braids, so that not everything around the head down the shoulders is covered… if that makes sense (<< silly German here)

Overall I so had funny putting together my little fairy and I only needed to find a location for the pics. I remembered a sim, which I was shown by wonderful gentleman. Lakeside, recently even got revamped and is now even more romantic that before. With many hidden places and spots it is a miracle ๐Ÿ™‚ Every time when I go there, I find new corners and new parts I never saw before. It is really worth a visit ๐Ÿ™‚

Fame with Roses & Chains

sys-roses-chains-1

I have no clue how I came on the idea for this pictures… but it was fun :p

I know I saw that roses at Skye’s place when we did a shooting and remembered I got those too. When I saw them again, I so wanted to do something with them and when I unpacked a few boxes I found the perfect dress and all of a sudden everything fell together ๐Ÿ˜‰

But lets start from the beginning…

This time it was not an outfit that started the whole idea, it really was a set I was playing around with. I started with the “DYSTOPIA Chained Roses” from E.V.E Studio. I found so many parts in the folders… different roses with chains, standalone petals and as well several colors… I decided to go with the bronze ones as I loved the red touch paired with either a golden or a black chain. While I was playing around with arranging the roses I came across the “Splashing Droplets” in gold, which just matched the “Chained Roses” perfectly.

sys-roses-chains-2

ย When I unpacked the “FAME” dress from [sys]which you can find at the actual round of The Liaison Collaborative and saw the chains at the high cut on the left side… I did know that was the right dress for that picture ๐Ÿ˜‰

The dress is a very simple one BUT with great asymmetric details. The left arm is covered by a long sleeve while the right arm is totally bare. The left side has a high slit which is decorated with many rows of chains.

Another great detail I would love to focus as well. The amazing rings and hand bands from Formanails. Formanails does the most incredible hand jewelry and nails I ever saw. Most of the designs are made for either Maitreya or Slink Casual or Slink Formal hands.

Overall the whole scenery with the looks and the set looked weird and cool the same time to me so I just had fun to take some pics and see what comes out ๐Ÿ˜‰ It was a new feeling to me, to style according to a set instead of the other way round *giggles*. It was a great experience and as well some kind of a new challenge for me, maybe I should do that more often ๐Ÿ˜‰

Shadow Born

warrior-blacklacesys-01

Adaptation – to see in the dark
– a translation – of white into black
– field of view – carefully adjusted
– passing through – to not get hurt…

[Malrun]

warrior-blacklacesys-04

When you are going to blog about lingerie, maybe that is not the first idea that comes to your head *giggles*

But, I thought maybe it was about time to try something different. I always missed the mix and match of layers for the mesh clothing. It is really hard to wear parts of different outfits and designers with mesh clothing, if they are not made to be worn together. Mostly the sizes do not fit or something pokes through or what ever else does not work. When I put on the new “Cotton Candy” in black, with the amazing bra, waist corset, panties and garters, I just had the idea to experiment a little bit, since the whole lingerie set is a mesh body applier and would give me more freedom to mix and match with layers again ๐Ÿ™‚ PLUS I wanted to make a different post about one of the incredible lingerie sets from Blacklace ๐Ÿ˜‰

warrior-blacklacesys-06

[sys] released the “TWISP” outfit for the Fetish Fair 2016. The outfit contains a strapped body suit that just covers the most important private parts and a great pair of fingerless gloves. With the minimalistic straps it was just perfect, to go with the “Cotton Candy” lingerie set.

Who says lingerie is just something for the bedroom? *winks*

With the combination of those 2 outfits, the look already became very energetic and strong and more and more the idea of a warrior type look grew in my head. At the actual TFC round Bauhaus Movement has an amazing headpiece called “YEAH! Fashion Headpiece” which looked just as it was made for my idea :p The huge head piece with the feather looking parts all around and the amazing head band where the right addition to my warrior idea.

For the tattoos, certainly I chose White Widow again, Julie really is a body artist and I am just addicted to her creations. That became even more when I found out her newest makeup is compatible with the Genesis Lab 2.0 heads! The new “Couture” makeup is such an amazing mask looking eye art!

That is a very funny story as well.. I was looking for a mesh head I like for over a year now. Some were ok, but I never had the “YES!” feeling on any of the heads I tried. In the end I got a Catwa head as that was the one I liked the most but it was more a compromise than a real “YES!” Don’t get me wrong, Catwa does great heads and with the many different ones, they really make a statement. Catwa might be one of the best choices as there are the most appliers for those heads out there at the moment. But to me they are all very beautiful and smooth and I wanted something more character looking.

When I did not even think about a head, I saw the name of a wonderful friend in the Genesis Lab chat. We started talking and after a while I told her that I was looking for a particular head of Genesis but since Genesis is very limited with appliers and skins and as well do the most heads as Gachas… I kinda trashed the idea even if I liked their heads a lot. I came out that Danity Minx has a lucky hand with Gachas and she got a lot of the rare heads out of those and as well a few doubles. She gave me a few as gifts – very generous gifts – and I started trying them and when I put on a certain head… I immediately fell in love. DAMN my love fell on a Genesis head… that was my first intention.

warrior-blacklacesys-07

But I could not help it and so I try to work it as much as I can at the moment. I was told in the group, that the support is very slow to non existent and that many heads have issues and do not get updated. With the one I chose it seems I got lucky as only the lashes positioner is broken but you can get used to it, that it just works the other way round. Sadly non of the skins for Genesis comes with a no brow option, so I could not wear it as an everyday head anyways since one of my trademarks is exactly that. In PS I am able to remove them but not on the grid ๐Ÿ™

So we will see how that will go in the future… I have a light at the end of the tunnel, since a wonderful and kind skin maker offered me he maybe could take care of that ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sing for your tears
a song of the hatred
No one can hear
’cause your life is forgotten

Dark Victorian Princess for VERSUS Magazine

versus-magazine-dark-victorian-princess-look-02

Look 1

Read the VERSUS Magazine HERE

When Shena assigned me the trend for the current issue of the VERSUS magazine I was super happy. She said my trend would be ‘Dark Victorian Princess – but in an up-to-date look’ and she totally hit my heart with that ๐Ÿ™‚

I always had an addiction to dark stylings… black always will be my favourite color ๐Ÿ˜‰

The victorian princess merged into a more modern looking way was something quit interesting and as well challenging. My first step led me again to Google and I looked for Neo Baroque and New Baroque looks as well as for modern Victorian stylings.

versus-magazine-dark-victorian-princess-look-01

Look 2

I never tried to copy looks I found… more to find my own way of the styles I saw. When I look for a certain style, I try to find as many looks as possible to get the essence of the looks. To me styling a certain trend, theme or category does not mean to copy an existing look of a picture I found. I saw that so many times for challenges, contests or castings – People just open Google and get one of the first 10 pictures they see and try to find exactly that look in SecondLife. To me that is NOT really ‘styling’, it is just copying an existing look without any personal traits or edges, even if it can be a challenge to find all those items :p .

versus-magazine-dark-victorian-princess-look-04

Look 3

Copying looks to me never was fun and thank god I did not have to do that too often. But styling an assigned trend or style is the most fun challenge I can imagine, when I can try to put my own twist to something, but still cover a certain look. When you can bring something alive, that tells a general story about a look but as well a story about yourself… I do not know if that makes any sense but it is what I feel when I do those kind of stylings.

versus-magazine-dark-victorian-princess-look-03

Look 4

Thank you Shena, that I was again allowed to be part of your amazing VERSUS magazine. I always love the assignments you are giving to me, because you always think about, what would be fun for me or what would suit me. It is always an honor and pleasure to work with you and for you <3
