“Time of my Life!”

Vintage Fair is going on at the moment and even if the oder was “pre 80s” for the theme at the event, I could not resist to do another colorful 80s post with some items and designs I found there. The center of my style this time was the cool “Discordia” top from The Annex. Certainly you can style that top in a 70s style as well, but as you can see 80s works too.

Believe it or not, the Vintage Fair is one of my favorite events in Second Life. I know many of you know I am a friend of weird and dark things, but vintage styles especially the 20s to 50s are times and styles that really touch me somehow. Maybe it is because of the music. I love Swing, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Rockabilly! I do have some more vintage posts prepared, but I wanted to start with that cool top as it caught my attention from the moment I put it on the first time. The top is available in 5 different colors and made for Maitreya.

What perfectly fit the 80s look where the “Star Boots”, made by [Gos]. The certainly come with a color HUD, but that silver colors was so perfect for that look. On the picture above you can see a few more colors, but not all of the them πŸ˜‰ In total you get 15 colors for the main boot, 5 for the lining, 2 for the heel, tread and laces and 3 different metals. For the heel, if you want it the same color as the shoes, you simply can chose the main boot color as that includes the heel, too.

Another cool thing I wanted to talk about is the LeLutka Axis HUD. I know, it is around for a while, but I still get asked how I do my facial expressions apart from the ready made ones you can buy for the LeLutka heads. The HUD is not limited to LeLutka only. You can animate other brands heads as well. I tried it myself with LAQ and Logo and I was asking a friend, that uses Catwa and she said it works too. The only tricky part is expressions with the tongue involved as those seem to react a little different. Other than that, the Axis HUD worked on the other heads just fine for me (You always can try the demo). If you want the full information, you always can look at the LeLutka website (http://lelutka.com/blog/axis-hud/)

That HUD opened a new world of close up pictures for me – not only close ups but there you can see the most impact certainly, if you have the face in your focus. With the Axis HUD you can either create a fully new expression OR you can alter expressions that you already have for your head. Since my English is not the best I would like to quote something from the website that explains the most important infos of the HUD:

“Most of what you need to know about getting started can be found on the info pages which show on HUD itself when you first wear it. You can return to those info pages at any time you like by clicking the β€œi” button on the top of your HUD.

You can click and drag on the point grids to rotate each facial bone on one, two or three axis, depending on the bone. Three axis bones such as the lip bones have an extra row underneath the main point grid which you can use to rotate the bone on the third axis. There are also larger circles at the edges of the brows and lips which allow you to move several bones together. Once you have the expression just how you like it, you can save your animation set into a savorite at the bottom of the HUD if you want to recall it later.

You can also target up to three other avatars and individually set up unique facial animations for group photos or just a bit of fun.”

I tried the HUD not only o myself, but as well with my partner and me no a picture and it worked perfectly.I was wearing the “Simone” head while he was wearing a Catwa one and it worked without any issues (https://www.flickr.com/photos/wiccamerlin/45078595804/in/dateposted-public/)

I was able to create way more moods and expressions, what really raised the bar for my pictures in my view. I am able to even more expressing emotions or having fun moments that without that HUD!

Last but not least – yes that again is a longer post, but there was so many details that should not be overlooked πŸ™‚ – I would like to draw your attention to my hairstyle. It was made by no.match and is called “No.Stress”. You can find it at the actual round of eBENTO. Usually I prefer blond, because of my no eyebrow trademark. But today, for my 80s look I felt I should have some more colored hair, that as well is one of the reasons for me wearing eyebrows today πŸ˜‰ For me it was the first time, that I touched the ‘unicorn’ color HUD from no.match – after seeing it I know it will not be the last time :p

I hope you enjoyed my little 80s trip as much as I did, tomorrow we will go back a little more in time I guess πŸ˜‰

What a Feeling!

TUNES

First when there’s nothing
But a slow glowing dream
That your fear seems to hide
Deep inside your mind
All alone I have cried
Silent tears full of pride
In a world made of steel
Made of stone
Well, I hear the music
Close my eyes, feel the rhythm
Wrap around
Take a hold of my heart
Now I hear the music
Close my eyes, I am rhythm
In a flash
It takes hold of my heart
What a feeling
Bein’s believin’
I can have it all
Now I’m dancing for my life
Take your passion
And make it happen
Pictures come alive
You can dance right through your life
What a feeling!

Into the Groove

TUNES

Music can be such a revelation
Dancing around you feel the sweet sensation
We might be lovers if the rhythm’s right
I hope this feeling never ends tonight
[Madonna]

I am a kid of the 80s. Music, fashion and the whole lifestyle is something, I was not really able to enjoy when it happened, as I really was a kid in the 80s and sometimes I wish, I just would have been born a little bit earlier πŸ˜‰

The 80s fashion did not last too long but it did and as well does influence the fashion trends a lot. The 80s was the time of big fashion icons like Lady Di, Madonna, Cher, Grace Jones and many more big names. Certainly most of the ones I called by name are musicians – I am a musician myself in RL, so that is my personal favorites not only for fashion.

The 80s brought out some really avant garde models and creations. Even today if you ask people – young and old – they remember leggings, shoulder pads, stretch dresses and skirts, leg warmers, graphic tees and certainly vibrant and neon colors. The other side of the coin for the more cool kids was the vinyl, latex, denim, fingerless gloves or oversized top looks.

Even if my style would have been a bit darker, more towards the rocker styles of the 80s, when I saw the “Chala Ice Cream” dress, made by Rosary, I immediately wanted to do a color pop style. I had no idea for along time how to illustrate the look I had in my mind, but when I saw the “Debbie” poses from BellePoses with those huge records – I had what it needed πŸ˜‰

When I was styling and snapping the pics I heard a lot of Madonna and Cyndi Lauper to get the right mood and groove. The last one even wore this kind of colorful stuff mostly paired with waist corsets.

Certainly according to Grace Jones stylings, I had to find some really vibrant and colorful makeup. What better place I could have thought of that Zibska. Zib ha a great sense for strong and bold colors and how to bring them on your face as an incredible makeup.

I am really curious what else will be brought back from the 80s besides leggings and white jeans and some more we already had in summer. The fashion industry already released some A/W 2018 fashion trends and I saw animal prints, western styles with cowboy boots and sequins coming back – lets see what else they will bring back! I am crossing my fingers for some rock or gothic creations *searches for her ripped fingerless gloves*

Retro Feelings!

It MUST be the Vintage Fair, that always puts me in some weird retro and vintage moods πŸ˜‰

Vintage Fair is one of my ‘must go’ every year.

First of all the event owners always do an incredible job with their sim building and second… all those creations of all kind of past time epochs! It was a hard choice to decide what to wear for aΒ  post first…

When I put on the dress from Kyoto Couture, which I found at the Vintage Fair – choice was made :p I do have an addiction for 70s and 80s things … maybe it is because of my age… and that pattern on the dress sold me. Retro is trendy again anyways!

First I had an Austin Powers moment but I did not really find all the part to do what I had in mind and so I changed my vision more towards a retro moment feeling between records and a real record player. All over 30 years will remember those huge vinyl records, that made that special noise when you listened to the music… sometimes I really miss it and pull out my old record player – yes I still have one out of nostalgic feelings – and listen to some old ABBA songs.

Certainly even a retro style has to have my own twist and so I decided to wear the some legstraps from Sakide and the awesome “Electra Cyber Gloves” from A&Y Cybernetics. I know I already blogged them before, but that even more shows how versatile they are!

Talking about Vintage Fair goodies… as well from the Vintage Fair are the incredible booties, the hairstyle, the glasses, the earrings and the cool makeup from Zibska! It is really fun if you set yourself a challenge and see that you put together a look from a certain event only (more or less) – That brought cool looks out for me actually and even some I maybe would not have done without that πŸ˜‰

I do not wanna talk to much today, as I do have some more amazing Vintage Fair styles to snap… I hope you enjoyed my retro mood as much as I did πŸ˜‰

GizzA teams up with Glamisty for Peony!

Gizza & Glamistry 6

A collaboration between designers is always exciting to me, as it brings out new and different sides of each of them or even pairs their best skills and abilities.

The last fact happened in my view on the latest collaboration ofΒ  GizzA & Glamisty.

Both designers have amazing skills when it comes to designing and texturing. The “Peony” outfit and heels show how incredible amazing such a collaboration can be. The outfit – made by GizzA – itself comes in several colors. Originally there is one color for top and pants but I decided to mix 2 of them together since I anyways have a weakness for black and red combinations πŸ˜‰

Gizza & Glamistry 4

The top is a very summer looking top with a great leather texture. I the front you have high closed tight shape, which closes together right at the neck.Β  That leaves a very sexy back with much skin and only covered by 3 lines, that close around the front again, which hold the top in place πŸ˜‰

The pants do have an amazing, aerial floating back piece to them. The sheer part is perfectly rigged to the legs and will follow your legs with every step. The “Peony” pants are 3/4 pants (or sometimes called capri pants) and let enough room for the amazing “Peony” heels from Glamistry.

Gizza & Glamistry 1

Glamistry is one of the most popular shoe designers these days. And if you take a look at their designs you will know why πŸ˜‰

I rarely saw shoes, that are so detailed and realistic, as the Glamistry ones. They always release up to date creations and offer an amazing color system for customers. Usually you buy one color but you are able to add more colors on your HUD by just buying another color. That means you do not buy another pair of shoes, you just add another color on your HUD. That is a very inventory friendly system to have a lot of colors for each shoe!

For the “Peony Heels”, Glamistry certainly made the perfect matching colors to the “Peony Outfit” from GizzA. You have the possibility to color several parts of the shoes in a different color. The shoes itself have 2 parts like you can see on the picture above, I colored them black and red. Then you are able as well to choose for metals, heels and sole, to make sure you have the best combination for your look. To me that makes those shoes very versatile and perfect for any kind of styling πŸ™‚

Gizza & Glamistry 2

The incredible tattoo was made by my favourite tattoo designer and friend, Julie Hastings. She made the “Charade” tatoo for the actual round of the Epiphany gacha event.

The cute hairstyle, together with the hat, comes from Ayashi and the amazing bracelet was made by Asteria for one of the past round of the Enchantment event, if I remember correctly.

Since I have an addiction to piercings as well and rarely can use them usually, I could not resist to add the little “Dark Queen Septum” πŸ˜‰

The cool walls you can see behind me, are from E.V.E. Studio. I used several copies and resized them to build a surrounding for my today’s pictures πŸ˜‰

LOTD 08/11/2015 – Back to the 80s?

Gabriel 001aI can not deny it… I am a child of the 80 somehow.

Born in 1977 I am basically too young to have experienced the 80s fashion myself a lot, but it was the time when I grew up and I still love the style of that time.

The 80s to me kinda show a fashion rebellion and as well I think that the 80s fashion made the way for what we call fashion nowadays.

Gabriel 002aWhen I put on the Emma Dress from Gabriel, I immediately fell in love and back to the 80s*giggles. Even if that dress matches a modern styling as well with the red and black and the shape of the dress I so saw Cyndi Lauper or Whitney Houston wearing it :p

The short dress with a kind of wrapped look, where the red overlays the black fabric, the neat belt, it just screamed 80s at me πŸ˜‰

The back of the “Emma” dress holds a very sexy secret as well πŸ˜‰ You have a small gap between top and skirt that gives a very naughty view on your lower back*rawr*

Gabriel 004aI added the “Khalessi” bracelets from [sys] and some heavy boots from [GOS], tp even more go towards the 80s look.

The amazing hair, which is connected to the hat comes from Ayashi and just was the perfect addition for that look. Certainly I needed a cool tattoo too and what can be better than one of my beloved White Widow tattoos!

Julie did it again and made a wonderful and as well sexy looking tattoo, that goes over the whole body and even down the hands, plus it even has a wonderful painted garter looking ornament at the left leg. The “Music Box” tattoo is available in theΒ  3 different colors and I chose the ‘Dark’ version for this post.

The fabulous nail polish was made by Giela Delpaso for Nailed It!

LeeZu-GizzA-Lazuri 001Pink & Purple!!! Yes, I took my medicals for my pink allergy before I did the styling*grins*

Usually I try to avoid pink and purple like hell bu sometimes I am in a 80’s mood and back then pink and purple were some of the dominating colors.

The “Metropolis” mesh dress from LeeZu was the base for this in the end colorful look. The sexy short dress, wich only has straps over the shoulders is amazing textured with wonderful lights and shadows looks amazing realistic.

LeeZu-GizzA-Lazuri 002

The jacket comes from GizzA. The “Biker Jacket” always was something I had on my focus and as I saw the pink version discounted to 50%, I just could not resist and the pink & black idea was born. I am a fan of overknee boots since in forever and the “Piccadilly Overknee Boots” from LeeZu are a long time favourite of mine. To make a black basic, I put them on in black. Now the part of the legs between the black “Metropolis” dress and the boots screamed for some color as well, as the pink jacket dominated the whole look. I first tried some pink leggings but then it was too much of all that pink and so I decided to go a little darker with purple. The “Cat Tights” in violet from LeeZu with the holes just made the perfect match for my 80s look, since back then many ripped their stockings and jeans to get the used look.

For the jewelry, I wanted something with black metals and some pink and lilac or purplish looking gems. Nothing that would dominate the whole look too much, just something that goes with it. I have a fable for neck corsets and collars, so I remembered the “Noor Mystic Infinity” set from Lazuri, that I was given for the amazing jewelry spread in the BoSL Magazine. The “Noor Mystic Infinity” set is fully menu driven like all of the Lazuri jewelry and that makes it for me so valuable. I can decide about the metal and as well the gem stones for fabric and color and I can even color the gem stones in different colors and not just one for all gems. What I figured out for the Lazuri jewelry as well… you can have different styles for nearly each set. Always a basic style and 2 more to add more and more glam and parts to it. That really is something inventive for me, as you just buy one set, have 3 different styles and a full control over the metals and colors.

The skin as usual is my custom made “Wicca” skin in the new ‘lumee lunette’ tone. The lipstick as well comes from Silken Moon and the eye makeup I found at Boom.

The whole look took me so much back into the 80s that I was listening to all the old good tunes during my post and enjoyed it so much, that I would like to quote Cyndi Lauper for the end of my post… “Girls just wanna have fun!”
