Styling Challenge – It is all about a Bow!

Ok… I admit I am a little bot crazy sometimes :p, but most of you know that anyways πŸ˜‰

Anyways, today the reason for my style and pictures was a wonderful head bow.

A friend gave it to me, it is part of her new gacha and when I saw it, I just HAD to think about a ways how I could showcase it πŸ˜‰

So, where to start with… first of all, put the bow on. That already was a hard choice, because Twelve gave me not only one to choose from :p. In the end I decided to go with the”Black Snow” one. I always had an addiction for black, white and red so that one just really caught me.

First I thought about a lingerie styling for the bow only and went through my lingerie folder, where I found the “Claire” teddy set from Blacklace. When I did put it on, I realized only lingerie would not be what I would like for the ‘Bow style’ and I started experimenting with several ideas.

I tried some dresses and gowns, they all looked nice, but maybe too nice and smooth πŸ˜‰

Then I found the “Hisa” leather leggings from Lassitude & Ennui in my leggings folder and with the black and white combination they looked amazing to the bow, but had a serious break/collision at the hips with the lingerie. I needed something to cover that up without hiding one of both. Next step – I typed ‘shorts’ in the search field of my inventory. Oh man… I better should not have done that… I did not even realize before how many ‘shorts’ I have…

Ok… focus Wicca… focus… you need something to cover the waist area. Maybe some high waist shorts would be a good idea! Back to the search window – ‘belted shorts’

Bingo! The “Celine” shorts from Asteria popped up as oe of the first and when I tried them on, I knew those would be the ones to use.

Now the arms looked a little bare and I thought about some kind of jacket. After trying some long-sleeved jackets, which usually were either close or too close in the front, I came across the “Neith” jacket, made by [sys].

That amazing jacket with the scales looking fabric and the short sleeves was just perfect, with the great open front. That even gave room for the amazing necklace from Empyrean Forge.

A tattoo for the arms came to my mind first, but after trying som of my favourite tattoos, I realized I need something more subtile. The amazing slit and sheer sleeves from the “Occult Jacket” just matched awesome under the short sleeves of the “Neith” jacket from [sys].

Looking at the style from all sides I really was happy with it, just some shoes were missing. No high boots, that would take off too much from the leggings, but pumps or stilettos would be too ‘tiny’. All of a sudden an ankle boots came to my mind, which I got longer ago and never had a chance to wear them. The super cute “Wicked” shoes from Moon Elixir. They even come with an amazing socks option!

PERFECTAMENTE!

With that weird mix and match, I got the feeling, that no location, that I know of would fit and so I started to build my own little set for the picture. The “Kira” sculpture from E.V.E Studio is an ultra rare of one of Noke’s gachas. First I thought it would be too huge, but with the great liquid looking ground part it worked out so nicely. I added the “Ivy Bonsai” and some parts of the “Chained Roses”. First it looked like a whole mess, as I am not the greatest set builder, but after some moving and twisting and turning it fell into place πŸ˜‰

I never made a style based on just one hair bow, but I have to admit, that style would have never come together like this, if I would not have started with the bow :p

Maybe I should do that more often again… just start with a little accessory and see what it does lead me to!

LOTD 10/01/2016 – Try to build? Or just pushing prims? Maybe both?

sysevestudio-1

Playing with self-built sets becomes more and more fun :p

I never thought, that I can do that. I see so many amazing builds and sets from other bloggers and I adore them for doing that. When I try that especially with furniture and houses, I always have the feeling I am doing something wrong – I have no clue why but it never looks like I want it :p

That is why I mostly used inworld locations for that kind of pictures. But sometimes, if you are not allowed to rezz, sometimes you come across the issue, that you can’t place your avatar as properly as you would like.

Building your own set means, you can do what ever you want and place yourself as you like. As I said before, I leave the natural settings of wonderful landscapes and realistic environments to those who can do way better than I am :p , but I lately found my challenge in some editorial, artistic looking sets. a great help with those are for example stores like 22769, E.V.E Studio, DRD, Newchurch, striped mocha and Nomad, to just name a few of my favorite ones πŸ˜‰

E.V.E Studio I do like for their very artistic creations. I love the way Noke sees her art in a very colorful and futuristic world. Her imagination seems to have no reigns and I really do love that as it inspires me a lot.

The “Cyber Flower Pins Lights” were one of theΒ  releases of E.V.E Studio and when I unpacked them, I immediately wanted to do something with them, even if I did not know yet what or how…

The “Cyber Flower Pins Lights” come in 4 different versions – one with and one without fireflies on them. With 8 different colors the structures are perfectly to create a set or use them for deco. To get the full beauty of the flower pins I suggest you turn the advanced lightning on. The flower pins are mod and you can resize them or even play with the lights, something i highly appreciate as you have control over the brightness and sizes and can customize it to your picture idea.

The look for this picture, was not easy in the beginning. I experimented with some cyber futuristic things first but for what ever reason it looked always wrong. Then I tried with something romantic/mystic but again it felt wrong. I kept the flowers up and gave up on the look for a few days, as I experienced if you try to force something together it never will look ‘right’ and taking pictures is just no fun.

Another day I came across the “Trianon” dress, which was released for Collabor88 before. I totally loved the asymmetric look of the dress with the one side jacket. With the longer part on the jacket side we have some amazing ruffles and an amazing detailed shoulder part, while we have a very clean look on the other half with kind of tight body suit. I added the “Occult Sleeves” from a jacket I found at ISON, as I felt something was missing for the look I wanted to have.

The cool hair was made by [sys] as well and is called “Shinzo” with the option to color some wisps they were perfect to the “Trianon” dress colorwise and the sweet rose added a romantic touch to it. The collar as well is part of the “Trianon” dress. With all the pink in the outfit I decided to put some pink on the set as well and used the “Dancing Petals” in pink as well from E.V.E Studio.

Again I has great fun pushing prims and working on my own set, even if doing inworld shots on wonderful sims and locations is fun too and will happen again soon I am sure πŸ˜‰

Atlantis – Inspired by [E.V.E] Studio

Aquarius 7

Today I would like to spotlight the [E.V.E] Studio. Owner and designer Noke Yuitza, always puts a lot of effort in her designs and she has a very special sense of art and design. Her creations always have a huge art aspect anyways what she creates. Today I would like to drag the focus on her contribution to the Fantasy Gacha Carnival event.

The whole set she created is inspired by the myth of Atlantis by Jules Verne’s book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. The stong steampunk touch totally caught my heart from the very first moment when I tried the different parts of the set.

Aquarius 8

The whole “Atlantis Set” contains way more parts than those I used for today’s post.

For the pictures I decided to wear the Catsuit, the Ankle Boots and I combined the Wave hat with the Great Wave hat.

The whole set has materials enabled and reacts so wonderful to the windlight settings and surrounding lights. So for the best and most realistic look just activate the “Advanced Lighting Model ” in your viewer to enjoy the full beauty of the designs.

If you would like to see all the amazing parts of the set you can take a look at the [E.V.E] Studios blog: https://evestudio3d.wordpress.com/2015/11/06/atlantis-gacha/

To go more towards the Atlantis look I decided to add the “Eye Deco” from Elysium, which were made for the Cosmetics Fair. The cool geometric parts which are arranged like artistic lashes are the perfect match for the look.

For the makeup, I used a fe different ones from Nuuna. The blue “Litzi” stripes that go over the upper part of the face and the amazing “Ninja” in black wich covers the bottom half of the face.

Aquarius 3

I wanted to add some scales but more subtile than totally obvious. So I just used the “Dragoness Scales Black Overlay” from Talyia Tarber and for the body I got me the “Dragon Blue Scales” from [Even~Tides].

For the pictures first I wanted an under water scenery, but all that I tried did not really do what I had in mind and so I ended up at ChouChou, one of ma favourite sims for pictures. WithΒ  the wide field of water and all the artistic structures this place always inspires me even more πŸ™‚
