The Icon Legal Insanity 001

The first outfit I wanna showcase today comes from Legal Insanity. I thought since Legal Insanity is the one who presents the whole event it would be nice to open my series of posts with them ;).

The “Vivienne Punk Gown”, fully mesh made comes i 3 different versions. All 3 have the amazing fabric that immediately reminds you about the UK and Vivienne Westwood, just in different shades. Since I have a fable for Vivienne Westwood, I did not wanna style up this gown just pretty and nice even if it is a wonderful long and tight gown what adds a very feminine touch to every styling.

The “Polly” hair from EMO-tions, just really caught my attention when I was looking through my hair to find the right one. The Polly hair comes with the cute beanie and the scarf as well. With HUD you can change the hair color and as well there is a HUD for the scarf and the beanie.
To give it a little more punk attitude, I added some arm warmers from BC322.  After I added the “Spotty Mix” tattoo from artilleri, I wanted to give it even more Westwood feeling and decided to put the “Red Adore Me!” makeup from LovelyMi and my “Wicca” liner and the amazing “Blue as Steel” lipstick from SIlken Moon.

I remembered the amazing billboards from LeeZu. The were at the Arcade Gachas and the “Dreaming Poster” was just the right addition to my white room 😉

News by ][PULL][, EMO-tions & PosESioN

PosESioN - Aliza Set Full

Yesterday I got amazing news from ][PULL][. Melissa46, owner and designer of ][PULL][, made a wonderful limited collection for February and the “Limited Herm Bodysuit” jumped into my eye in the moment I saw the picture of it. I put it on and I fell in love with it. It is not a total crazy outfit but the simplicity and the wonderful lace attachments just caught my heart.

I wanted to create a nice and simple but not boring look for the “Limited Herm Bodysuit” and I just added the “Bubble Glam Tights” from LeeZu. The “Karya” boots from Miamai came to my mind and I liked the way of the simple straps on the plain black boots.

While I was thinking about hair, I remembered a cool and smart-looking short hairstyle from EMO-tions‘ latest releases called “Anna 2”. The black and white theme really started to become fun and while i was looking for a head-piece the “Oda” headpiece from PurpleMoon fell into my hands again.

To complete my black & white look I added the “Westwood Contrast BW” makeup from LovelyMi , combines with 2 different lipsticks of Silken Moon that, I just put over each other and the wonderful “Superior” lashes from Redgrave. The “Aliza” earrings from SoliDea FoliEs in black and white made the perfect finish for this look.

PosESioN - Aliza Set

For the poses I wanted to use something that goes with the simple style but not just casual poses. I remembered a set of PosESioN, that I got a while ago. After trying all of them I could not really decide wich ones I liked the most, so I just snapped all and thought on a little picture with all of them so you can see wich great poses are in the “Aliza” set from PosESioN 😉

Are you ready for “The Abyss”?

FetishCouture-Twins

“The Abyss” – One of Mea Culpa‘s latest releases. Tatanka Kaligawa is working on his X-treme line for Mea Culpa. The idea behind the X-treme line is to bring the fetish style up to a high couture level. Britney Spear, Christina Aguilera and Madonna already discovered the success of combining this 2 styles. Both showed that latex and vinyl can be very sexy if you know how to arrange the outfit. More and more the music industry uses high fashion and couture to make their concerts to huge events with outfits, light and performances. They raised the bar for stage outfits a lot and many try to follow that trend 🙂

For many fetish only has a naughty touch and all just think about the backyard dominas… but fetish itself can be so much more than that. Tatanka dares to break the old stereotypes and shows that he can bring the fetish couture to a higher level. With delicate textures and ideas for designs he shows that you can do so much more that just ‘dungeon’ outfits. He makes it happen that fetish components on his creations make them ready for the huge runways. Tatanka exactly knows the very thin border that he walks perfectly on with for example “The Abyss” outfit. The basic texture layers are again textured with amazing fabrics that have a sexy touch with all the well set holes 😉 the prim attachments complete the straight and couture look in an amazing way. The waist attachment with the long lines hanging down, the cool glasses and the crossed lines at the front neck, that remind on a corset back are wonderful details that show the skills and abilities of Tatanka for creating unique and high fashion designs. What caught my attention a lot was the huge head-piece. The combination of horns, chains and fabrics add a light goth touch as well but with a special couture taste.

For me it has a very special meaning, as I never was a mainstream girl. I always looked left and right of the mainstream and liked the unusual and extraordinary. As I started modeling, I was told as long as I always try to swim against the mainstream as a little fashion rebel, it will bring me nowhere. For a long time I kinda felt like the ugly duck beside all the swans in the fashion world. But it seemed never so bad, that I really wanted to change it. How could I change my self, what I think and what I feel, without loosing myself? So I decided to stick to myself and grow inside of what I felt, thought and liked. Not everyone liked what I did, but more and more it became a trademark of my self to be different, to be the little ‘freak’. The sentence “Hell you always have to twist outfits to make them part of yourself” or ” It is nice to see a different view of my designs” more and more became compliments instead or complaints for me. On that long way of developing myself, my style and to realize my own visions of fashion and style I met a few people who were close to my ideas and my mind. One of the is LovelyMiwako7399 Menna (http://eclecticmiwa.wordpress.com/2013/01/20/fetish-couture-twins/). She is wild, crazy, loud, cute, sweet, creative, young, fresh, provocative and one of the best friends you can have. Lovely became a very close friend for me and we share a lot, not only a loose friendship… we share ideas, minds, tastes and ideals. There is not many in a virtual environment like SL you feel so close to and trust so much.  She always was a rebel with her ideas, styles and creations as well and so it was a great honor to do this picture together with her as the ‘Fetish Couture Twins’, she as well did the picture for this post.

Dare to get out of dusted stereotypes! Dare to stay true to yourself! Dare to be different!

If you take a look at the Mea Culpa Mainstore you can see how 😉 with the new X-treme line at the basement!

News and Spectacular Christmas Special at Mea Culpa!!!

Wicca Siren full

Today I am very happy to showcase one of the latest Mea Culpa releases. The “Call of the Sirene” outfit again is a little piece of art of Tatanka Kaligawa, owner and designer of Mea Culpa.

The “Call of the Sirene” outfit was made for the last Fashion Teller and it’s inspiration were the historical Sirens.

In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous and devious creatures, portrayed as femmes fatales who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. Roman poets placed them on some small islands called Sirenum scopuli. In some later, rationalized traditions, the literal geography of the “flowery” island of Anthemoessa, or Anthemusa, is fixed: sometimes on Cape Pelorum and at others in the islands known as the Sirenuse, near Paestum, or in Capreae. All such locations were surrounded by cliffs and rocks.

When the Sirens were given a name of their own they were considered the daughters of the river god Achelous, fathered upon Terpsichore, Melpomene, Sterope, or Chthon. Although they lured mariners, for the Greeks the Sirens in their “meadow starred with flowers” were not sea deities. Roman writers linked the Sirens more closely to the sea, as daughters of Phorcys. Sirens are found in many Greek stories, particularly in Homer’s Odyssey.

Their number is variously reported as between two and five. In the Odyssey, Homer says nothing of their origin or names, but gives the number of the Sirens as two. Later writers mention both their names and number: some state that there were three, Peisinoe, Aglaope, and Thelxiepeia or Parthenope, Ligeia, and Leucosia; Eustathius states that they were two, Aglaopheme and Thelxiepeia. Their individual names are variously rendered in the later sources as Thelxiepeia/Thelxiope/Thelxinoe, Molpe, Aglaophonos/Aglaope/Aglaopheme, Pisinoe/Peisinoë/Peisithoe, Parthenope, Ligeia, Leucosia, Raidne, and Teles.

The Sirens of Greek mythology are often confused with the Gorgons portrayed in later folklore as half women–half birds, (birds sing beautiful, enchanting songs, like the sirens are portrayed to do); the fact that in Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Romanian and Portuguese the word for mermaid is respectively Sirena, Sirène, Sirena, Syrena, Sirenă and Sereia, and that in biology the Sirenia comprise an order of fully aquatic mammals that includes the dugong and manatee, add to the visual confusion, so that Sirens are even represented as mermaids. However, “the sirens, though they sing to mariners, are not sea-maidens,” Jane Ellen Harrison has cautioned; “they dwell on an island in a flowery meadow.

Tatanka Kaligawa made his own vision of a modern and fashionable Siren come true with his latest creation;)
