I am a pants person but I am not a gown enemy!

Gowns – Usually something outside of my comfort zone!

Normally I am used to say, I am not that much of a gown person. Somehow that is true, but not because I do not like gowns! It is more the fact, that in SL you cannot do as much with gowns as you can do with mix and match outfits or pants outfits – styling wise and picture wise.

With a gown your poses are automatically very limited to something, that does not spread or move your legs too much. Sitting mostly does not work without damage on lower part of the mesh gown and in the past with flexies it was even worse, when all the prims were hanging through your body. So what is left… mainly standing poses if you do not just go for closeups or crops. To me that can become boring very fast as you have a lot of ambience in your picture or you just stand there in an amazing environment and look like as someone forgot to pick you up :p

The next limitation you have is the styling itself. Certainly you can play with several accessories, jewelry, shoes and hair but the gown itself you rarely can transition to something different that just the gown and not many gowns to allow you a style category change. Gowns usually are meant to be formal or maybe even goth but still somehow elegant. I do like twisting style categories and changing purposes of certain clothing and as well I am addicted to mix and match to create a new look for me, that does not look like the one I saw on the vendor.

Not because I have to be always different and unique, just because I want to get a connection to the clothing I am wearing, to make them my own.

Everyone has an idea about the character and avatar that they play. Some do like the beauty side, some like the more ordinary looks, or even do like the imperfection and some are just looking at things and get a vision for them together with their avatar. I never did limit myself to a certain category, I just went with the flow for every outfit I was given with free styling reigns. I am not siting here and have to force myself to get a different or certain look, mostly it just happens step by step with every item I add to it. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes dark, sometimes weird and sometimes just simple casual.

When I saw the amazing “Samal” gown from E-Clipse Design, I immediately had a vision for it. I saw a black gown, some funky accessories and color! Maybe even something color popping like I do remember it from the 80s ;). I first played with red and black, but for what ever reason it had to be a more striking color, something that does scream color at you – if that makes sense. I was trying some neon green and yellow before I stumbled over a teal shading. The “Tista” lipstick from Zibska did a lot to my color decision as well. I loved the two-toned stong colors so much and it was a headache to find accessories in the same tone. So I ended up to re-color our bento gloves from the “Joan” outfit, the “Oakes” hair from KoKoLoReS and my LeLutka hair base (thank god we have the tinting option!) to match the color of the lipstick.

The gown is a firework of texture/fabric combinations. You have a more cotton looking fabric for the straps, the amazing detailed lace for the waist part and then you get a satin impression for the bottom of the gown.

Maybe some will question the term ‘gown’ for this outfit now – I don’t.

It can be worn very elegant as well and if you are brave enough, you can wear it on a red carpet or to a dance event as well – Lady Gaga showed what can be called gowns and used like it 😉

It is always in the eye of the beholder how you define certain things but with the tight body part and the wider floating bottom it is a perfect gown to me 😉

The “Samal” gown and as well the awesome “Old Phone” glasses that I used for todays look, can be found on the ongoing Black Fair 2017 until the 20th or October. If you read this post afterwards I am sure you will find the designs in the main stores of the creators 😉

So after all I am not a gown enemy, I just need the right gown and the right mood to get a vision for style and pictures 😉

The other Me…

LeeZu - Saphire Gown Mal & Wicca 001

I have seen another sky
I have climbed another tree
I have wished another star,
above another star lit sea

Another me lives another life,
I’ve always dreamed
Another me exists somewhere
Why can’t I live that life there?
Please let me be … the other me

And I have seen another sunrise,
and another lightning storm
I’m not just the me you see
You see another me was born

Another me lives another life,
I’ve always dreamed
Another me exists somewhere
Why can’t I live that life there?
Please let me be … the other me

Somewhere I’m happy
I’m smiled at understood
In another Place I lift my face,
not hide it in a hood

LeeZu - Saphire Gown Mal & Wicca 002

First of all I would like to thank Malicia for the time and the base idea for this pictures. She came up with the mirror idea and as well donated her mirror to the shooting 😉

We both wearing the newest gown release of LeeZu. The “Saphire” gown is a fully mesh made gown. It is available in many different colors but for the post we had to choose 2 and so we decided to go with plum for me and black for Malicia. The wonderful shoulder piece is to add single so you can even decide to go with or without it. As well part of the outfit the little hat is. The amazing little hat with the tentacles just adds the little extra elegant and couture touch.

The jewelry I chose to wear is made by Lazuri for the MVW 2014 contest. The “MVW 2014 Eva Luxury” set is an amazing set containing 2 types of earrings, bracelets, rings and a wonderful necklace made of 3 parts wich gives you the option to wear it in 3 different ways. As for all the amazing Lazuri jewelry the set is menu driven and you can recolor all parts to kinda customize the set to your likings and needs.

For the poses we needed some mirrored ones. For a long time I asked myself, why some pose makers made these and the only reason I could think of was, that you carry something in your hand that might be on the wrong side for the pose. But today I discovered, that they can be very useful if you want to do pictures like that as well 😉 So i went with poses from *PosESioN* and Morgane Batista.

The shoot and preparing was fun and I hope Mal will be with me for some more posts in the future 😉 It is rare if you meet people, that you go along so well and SecondLife gifted me a wonderful friend not only in SL anymore. Thank you Mal, for believing in me and being such an amazing friend for me in both worlds 🙂 .

The Runway Perfect Hunt #4 – Part 7

TRPH #4 - Styles by Danielle full

The Runway Perfect Hunt goes in it’s 4th round :) . Morgane Batista again made it, to get amazing designers to participate in one of the most famous hunts on the grid. Even if the title says “The hunt with models in mind” does not mean this hunt is limited to models only. All the amazing and versatile designs are amazing additions to everybody’s wardrobe, even the males will find some amazing hunt prizes in some locations ;) This year the hunt is not a total freebie hunt, each hunt item costs $5 Linden. With a total of 50 shops you reach a maximum of $250 Linden, what is a great amount for so many amazing quality designs!

Today I would like to put the spotlight on Styles by Danielle. Dani made the wonderful “Lisa” pants for the perfect runway hunt. The dark blue pants with the white ornaments on the right leg and the little belt at the waist, give a basic for many different kind of styles. You can go for a harem look, something arabic or even for something more futuristic like I did. Since the pants are from Styles by Danielle, I thought mabye it would be a good idea to combine it with a top and jewelry as well made by Dani Plassitz, owner and designer of Styles by Danielle. The “Krony” earrings are the actual group gift of Styles by Danielle, the “Taj” bracelets and the “Mims” top as well are from Styles by Danielle. For the shoes I chose the “BAX Booties” and the hair is on of my long time favourites from PurpleMoon. A little focus I would like to put on the face decoration as well. Dahiel, owner and designer of PosESioN, is well known for his amazing poses, but lately he started again to make some amazing jewelry and acessories. The “Centaurus” set is one of his newest additions. Usually it has a wonderful horns nose piercing as well but for today I only used the horns that go to the forehead.

The Runway Perfect Hunt will last until the 30th of May so do not hesitate too long to grab your hunt prizes ;)

The Runway Perfect Hunt #4 – Part 6

TRPH #4 - Gizza Fulla

The Runway Perfect Hunt goes in it’s 4th round :) . Morgane Batista again made it, to get amazing designers to participate in one of the most famous hunts on the grid. Even if the title says “The hunt with models in mind” does not mean this hunt is limited to models only. With a total of 50 shops you reach a maximum of $250 Linden, what is a great amount for so many amazing quality designs!

Today I would like to drag the spotlight over to GizzA. GizzA made an amazing half mesh/half prims gown for the hunt. The wonderful turquoise and white, tight gown fawns dreamy around the fashionistas shape. The top is shoulder free and lets a lot of free room for awesome jewelry. In my case for the “Foliole” set of Finesmith. The special color of this set was one on the OGlam specials in the past but this kind of red together with the incredible teal gem matched “The Runway Perfect Hunt” gown from GizzA. For the hairstyle I chose one of the new EMO-tions hairstyles called “Sessie”. The huge bun paired with the loosely wisps just made the dreamy look complete 😉

The Runway Perfect Hunt will last until the 30th of May so do not hesitate too long to grab your hunt prizes ;)

News at Fellini Couture

Today I have the great pleasure to show you some of the latest releases of Fellini Couture.

Joy again surprises us with some new fantastic mesh creations. The new “Tentation Lips” dress is a wonderful combination of a very female looking dress and some…  kinda pop art with the huge lips. The dress itself is made very tight and lays dreamy around a slim, but curved female shape. The corset makes an amazing waist size, sexy and seductive. The huge lip that decorates the front of the skirt, Joy brough back above the corset, with some glass/diamond looking parts on red lips that are arranged to cover the chest. To really make sure that, you do not see anything you should not, you have an extra clothing layer ;). The strong red lips combined with simple white brought me on some crazy and funky accessories… the huge collar and the leash between my lips made the whole look pointing out on some Lady Gaga stylings and so I decided to add some heavy makeup from LovelyMi for the eyes. With that, now more fierce than elegant look, I needed some extravagant hair and my thought fell on one special hair from Bizarre Hair that was released not too long ago. To bring back the red of the lips, belt and gloves below the skirt, my decision for shoes fell on some red and vintage looking ankle boots from BAX.

As I finally finished my look and snapped the pictures the red came out very strong and I suddenly had the imagination of the comic ‘Sin City’ that uses a lot of black and white only featuring a deep and blood-red and so I worked on the pictures to get exactly that vibe for this post. The “Tentation” mesh gown as well is available in a nother version that is made only off black and white without the huge lips what might fit better for any elegant and classy occasions, but I liked the red accents so much, that I had to showcase the red lips version 😉

If you wanna take a look at the other one you can wait till I have it on my blog or you just make your way to the Fellini Couture Mainstore and see for yourself.

Ezura at the Festival of Sin

These days we have the wonderful Festival of Sin (LM to the Festival of Sin: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Diablo/138/119/72) going on in Second Life. One of Ezura’s contributions is the “The Sins Wrath”. The Festival of Sin happens the first time  in SL and it is a lovely made place where a lot of SL’s top designers showcase special designs, some of their latest releases and old-time favourites. The place itself is worth a visit.

Ezura came up with a wonderful red gown that is the perfect picture of wrath, one of the 7 deadlies. A wonderful red and seductive gown with a mixture of lace and opaque textures in red. The basic of the gown is made in the new mesh technique, the prims on the sides and at the neck are normal non mesh prims and easy to adjust. The amazing red horns are as well part of the wonderful gown. For the hair I chose a combination of Urban Lutz and Baiastice. Urban Lutz started to create a new hair-line that follows the zodiac signs. For today iI chose the wonderful “Capricorn” style combined with one of my all time favourites from Baiastice.
