Time to relax… now!

Today my post might be different as most of my other ones. I had a year full or work and joy, a year of stress and the most fun I ever could imagine.

About a year ago, in May 2016, an idea was growing inside my head. After seeing a wonderful musical, done by kids and adults of an amateur dramatic society not too far from my home, an old dream of mine came up again.

I always wanted to do a musical with mainly kids from a school I am working at. Until that time I never had the right people around me, or I was not allowed to do such a huge project as it would interrupt and interfere the normal school schedule too much and so many other reasons, which I do not even remember.

But this time it should be different.

I spoke to a very close friend of mine, that as well works at the same school and with me. She was at that musical I was talking about before as well and when I joked about, if we could not pull off something like that as well, she only answered “Why not?”. I told her about my weakness of organizing things and my strength of creativity, music and passion for musicals. She is like a soul mate for me or even the sister I never had, so I was totally honest about my fears. She only did listen and did not say a word until I was done talking and I already was scared that she would tell me I am crazy – Which would be no news :p

I was staring at her to wait for her reaction. She looked at me and said “If you are taking the responsibility for everything that has to do with music and dance and all the sound engineering stuffs, I can help organizing stuffs, help with reversals and costumes and as well I can do all the calculation with you”. I must have stared at her with an open mouth and she started to joke about it and asked me, if I did really listen to what she said.

I was speechless as I never would have expected such an amazing reaction. So all that was left – before proposing the idea to our school principal – was to find a musical, that could be done by kids and teens but as well would attract teens and adults as audience. We have kids from the age of 10 up to 18, so it should be something that catches all of them, plus it had to be something with cool costumes and many possibilities of accessories and styles. It took me about 4 weeks to find something that was affordable, would allow changes by me and as well sounded cool enough for the kids.

I found a muscial version of Dracula twisted for kids and young adults with a lot of humor and still the basic Dracula story in it. It was called “Dracula – the ultimate Grusical”. When I told my friend about it, she was all up for it immediately and already saw certain costumes and styles behind her inner eyes. Now the most difficult part was coming up… I had to propose the idea to our boss. He is a passionate musician himself, but as well he leads a school and so I was not sure what he would say about our idea.

His first question was, if I would be sure about all the work and effort and I told him, that I was part of a school musical 3 times before myself and that I am not exactly sure how much work it would be, but that I would know it would not be easy and as well a lot of unpaid extra hours, but the same time, that it would be a life time dream of mine and that I am not scared by a huge work load.

He said he would not have anything against the idea but all the other teachers would have a say as well, as some rehearsals would maybe go through some usual school times. When I entered the teachers room a few days later, I had really wonky knees as those folks who usually work with me, now would have the decision about my dream. Their reactions were amazing and they all told me I would have full support and even had ideas how we could connect the musical project with regular lessons and classes like making accessories and all the stage buildings in arts and have some parts of the text to work in the German language lessons. I was totally overwhelmed and more than happy.

After some mailing work with the publishing house of the musical, I got the text, the music, the songs and everything that we needed – by then it was July 2016, shortly before the long summer holidays. The holidays gave me enough time to adjust text and music according to some requests of our principal and as well to the roles for the kids. When school started again in September 2016 I was done with all this and as well had made a first choice of who would play certain roles. Now I just needed to ask the kids if they would agree and as well I needed my friends help for some more role assignments.

To make along story short, some kids did not like the idea and bailed out even 2 month after we started rehearsing and each of them nearly gave me a breakdown and I saw the whole project die more than once, but we always found a solution andΒ  asked a few former pupils to take part as well. It was a very rough and exhausting year but I do not regret one second. It was a great time to know the kids way more than during a ‘norma’ school year and they all worked super hard. In May 2017, we got another shock 6 weeks before the premiere… Our Dr Van Helsing got a cruciate ligament rupture while playing beach volleyball and I again saw the whole project going down. But again there was an angel, who offered to help and a 16 years old guy stepped up and took over that major role.

14th of July 2017 – Premiere!

I have no idea how we made it and time seemed to fly in the last 3 weeks but we made it to rock the first show of 4 with a sold out house of 200 people in the audience. we are a small school and only have round about 120 kids and having a sold out premiere was more than I ever expected. The kids were super nervous, none of them had done such a huge project before. The musical is about 2 hours long and we added a little break of 30 min between the 1st and the 2nd act. 2,5 hours of high concentration, lots of text and singing. In the end we had about 70 kids involved with acting, speaking, singing on stage, a choir and the school band. All had costumes and makeups and we had amazing help from a few parents who helped with all that behind the scenes during the shows. During the break we had Dracula themed snacks, cakes, sweets and drinks, sold by the association, thatΒ supports all kind of our school activities.. it was so amazing really.

Now after the 4th and last show… I only can look back and I am so grateful for all the help and support we got. The kids grew on that project in an unbelievable way and already asked when we would do something like that again.

I probably do not have the power and strength to do something like this right again, but I did not say “Never” either πŸ˜‰ We will see what the future brings πŸ˜‰

Maybe now some of you do understand, why I was not blogging as much as I used to in the past months, or why I was not online that much in the past weeks… but that project really took a lot of me – not only time wise – but I do not regret even one second! But now it is time to RELAX – at least for a bit πŸ˜‰

Pink and Cute???

Me and pastel colors… usually not the best match :p

But for today… I have no clue why… I wasΒ  in exactly that mood πŸ˜‰

The cool background maybe was the initial fact that lead me towards the sweet colors. The amazing “Aloha” dress, which is available at the actual round of The Liaison Collaborative, supported that idea of a summer, sweet colors post with a light vintage touch :p

First I did not even plan on a vintage touch, but when I found the “Betty Babes Glasses” from Manik Queen, I could not resist to tweak my style towards a cute vintage one.. yes… I said.. CUTE!

The glasses have so many color options and as well are sold in 2 different styles. Blank, white dots and black dots – there is no style you cannot make them fit πŸ˜‰

Now I would like to take a closer look at my hands. The fantastic rings are made by MEVA. I saw many Maitreya bento fitted rings lately but rarely some that rea so cool and detailed and as well more casual looking, so you can wear them as everyday accessory. With all the curves and decorations they are really a little art piece and outstanding from all the ones I saw before.

The rings are not just mirrored for left and right hand you actually have 2 totally different designs for each hand. you can wear the rings single for each finger or you can just use the full set at once… all options are included in the pack. As if that would not be already enough.. you as well can decide, if you would like the rings in silver or gold πŸ™‚ MEVA released so many more amazing rings – I soon have to make a special about it but I so wanted to showcase the first set today πŸ˜‰

Speaking of MEVA… did you realize those cool piercings at my collarbone and my cleavage^^? Mea Carnell, owner and designer of MEVA, made those for the actual round of Cosmo. They are a wonderful little styling accessories, that just give the little extra-ordinary look πŸ˜‰

The wonderful nail polish again was made by Nailed It!, one of my favourite nail polish places. O loved the little opened zipper which gives the idea of very exclusive french nails πŸ˜‰

The amazing lipstick certainly comes from Zibska, while the absolute stunning eyeshadow was made by Slackgirl πŸ˜‰

And now I will use my short ‘cutsie’ time for a little bot of window shopping before the dark side again takes over *giggles*

Temptation in Black & Red

Today I have some amazing news from *ROMP* for you!

It was about time for a black & red styling I guess and with the new items from ROMP it was just perfect timing πŸ˜‰

To me this round of ROMP is a very exciting one as we are allowed to participate for the first time with our store as well. I will probably do a post of our design as well but for now I would like to showcase some of the super awesome items I found there.

What caught my eyes as soon as I saw the vendor picture, was the amazing “Carmen” coat made by [sys]. The knee long open coat is decorated with an amazing fur looking fabric. You have 2 different versions available in each pack for the fur part. It comes fitted for all popular mesh bodies.

The amazing, delicate lingerie I am wearing underneath, comes from chocolate atelier (::c.A::). Chocolate Atelier usually provides the lingerie as system body layers, tattoo layers as well as appliers for Slink, Maitreya and Omega. For this post I used the “Nadia” lingerie in black but you can purchase it as well in red or white.

For the stockings I chose one of my favourite brands… AviCandy. They are always very well made without any seams – except the wanted ones in the back – and just look so realistic with their wonderful filigree lace decoration at the upper thighs. AviCandy provide for their nylons usually 2 different versions – one more opaque and one sheer one.

For the shoes I used the “Parrasana” heels from Glamistry. They might not be brand new but still brand hot with their special heel :p.

Let’s take a closer look at the strong makeup I chose for today’s look. Normally I am a fan of either bold eyes OR lips and rarely use both but the look kinda called for a more dramatic looking makeup.

The stunning, dark smokey eyes were made by Zib Scaggs, owner and designer of Zibska. I am using the m aitreya applier of the “Selise” HUD. Zibska is definitely a must go for the new “Simone” bento head from LeLutka. Zibska offers a wide range of incredible makeup designs for that head, that just fits amazing. You will not only find a LeLutka applier HUD in the pack, there also is an Omega, Catwa or TMP one as well plus still all the system layer tattoos.

The great, deep and dark lipstick is one of the newest releases from je suis. Yes you heard right – Julia Merosi, owner and designer of je suis, is back! And she already made stunning new things including the “LeLutka Lips 006”, which she released at the actual round of the Chapter 4. The perfectly fit the “Simone” head and you can even play with the gloss and the blending to get the perfect result for your look.

For the set I mainly wanted to play with projectors and lights in different colors (thanks to Leah for teaching me some more about self made projectors!).

As a basic furniture I put down the new “Neo Victorian Sofa”, that you can get at ROMP as well made by 22769. It comes in different colors and as PG or adult version – for today’s post I just went with the black PG version, as I anyways wanted to play with other poses, even if the sofa has great inbuilt animations that you can play with via a touch menu. The curtains, that I used for the golden accents are as well made by 22769.

ROMP has some great goodies this round so it is definitely worth a visit πŸ˜‰

LOTD 04/19/2016 – Weird Mood

GizzA-Elysium 1

Yesterday I was in a very weird mood, when I put together the look for my GizzA shift. It was not a bad nor a good mood… it was just weird.

Do you know that moments where you kinda feel nothing – real nothing? It is a very strange and good feeling the same time. Hard to explain but if you ever had that you will exactly know what I am talking about πŸ˜‰

In such moments it is very dangerous for me to style. As I never know what the outcome will be… will it be a great funky look or will I look like a clown…

That is, why I always let one day go by and look at it again t make sure it looks ok :p

GizzA-Elysium 6

I started with the new “Joanna Laced Dress” from GizzA. A short, cute and amazing short mesh dress, which comes in several colors and patterns. What I liked a lot, was that the dress was not just made with a deep neckline in the back, but had those laces as a neat decoration what made it outstanding to me already. I decided for the ‘Red Floral’ version for today’s post. I was thinking a long time, what I could do with it. I did not want to make a too casual and common spring look, as I saw that already a lot of times for this dress.

I was looking into my ‘Shoulder Parts’ folder and found the cool “Epaulette Set” as well made by GizzA. They are not a new release but more and more I discovered that ‘old time goodies’ are still worth to be kept for several stylings :p

GizzA-Elysium 2

Β The “Epaulette Set” comes with both shoulder pieces and an amazing mixture of chains and pearls as a necklace to connect both parts. I used the white version for today but there are many different colors available at the GizzA main store.

For arms and legs I wanted something not too heavy, but as well nothing too simple.

GizzA-Elysium 5

The “Lovana” heels from Stelloane just perfectly worked for what I was aiming for.

With the cute laces wrapped around the whole leg, it was not just pups or sandals but as well not heavy, totally covering boots πŸ˜‰

The arm pieces from the “Bonfire” outfit from Edelfabrik perfectly complimented the shows for the overall look.

I know I used the “Sidsel Hat” before, but I just love it so much, that I had to use it one more time πŸ˜‰ To me that added a light touch of an artist look as I saw many painter RP with such hats… I know weird thoughts but sometimes… like I said it in the beginning… I am in a strange mood anyways atm πŸ™‚

Atlantis – Inspired by [E.V.E] Studio

Aquarius 7

Today I would like to spotlight the [E.V.E] Studio. Owner and designer Noke Yuitza, always puts a lot of effort in her designs and she has a very special sense of art and design. Her creations always have a huge art aspect anyways what she creates. Today I would like to drag the focus on her contribution to the Fantasy Gacha Carnival event.

The whole set she created is inspired by the myth of Atlantis by Jules Verne’s book Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. The stong steampunk touch totally caught my heart from the very first moment when I tried the different parts of the set.

Aquarius 8

The whole “Atlantis Set” contains way more parts than those I used for today’s post.

For the pictures I decided to wear the Catsuit, the Ankle Boots and I combined the Wave hat with the Great Wave hat.

The whole set has materials enabled and reacts so wonderful to the windlight settings and surrounding lights. So for the best and most realistic look just activate the “Advanced Lighting Model ” in your viewer to enjoy the full beauty of the designs.

If you would like to see all the amazing parts of the set you can take a look at the [E.V.E] Studios blog: https://evestudio3d.wordpress.com/2015/11/06/atlantis-gacha/

Aquarius 5

To go more towards the Atlantis look I decided to add the “Eye Deco” from Elysium, which were made for the Cosmetics Fair. The cool geometric parts which are arranged like artistic lashes are the perfect match for the look.

For the makeup, I used a fe different ones from Nuuna. The blue “Litzi” stripes that go over the upper part of the face and the amazing “Ninja” in black wich covers the bottom half of the face.

Aquarius 3

I wanted to add some scales but more subtile than totally obvious. So I just used the “Dragoness Scales Black Overlay” from Talyia Tarber and for the body I got me the “Dragon Blue Scales” from [Even~Tides].

For the pictures first I wanted an under water scenery, but all that I tried did not really do what I had in mind and so I ended up at ChouChou, one of ma favourite sims for pictures. WithΒ  the wide field of water and all the artistic structures this place always inspires me even more πŸ™‚

Circus! – Faster Pussycat meets Machoire

Circus 1

I have no clue how this idea was born…

That was one of the moments when you go over your wardrobe and try to find some inspiration πŸ˜‰

I wanted to do something special for the new “Ganta Heels” from Machoire.

The heels are not only shoes, they are an art piece, so they needed something extraordinary. What could be for such an idea the something from Faster Pussycat!

I saw the “Hydra” outfit during the popstars show at the 24 event last weekend and fell immediately in love with it, A corset paired with a two-part harness and those exciting, wild horn parts covering the waits and chest. There is as well a headpiece matching to them, which I did not use for today’s pictures.

Circus 2

The beautiful and strong-looking tattoo is one of the newest releases from White Widow.Β  Julie Hastings made this one as her contribution to the ‘anyBODY – for applier lovers‘ event.

The while look had kinda a burlesque or even vintage circus feeling and so I was trying to make some pictures in that direction. The poses certainly had to be different for that too as I wanted to highlight the whole look. It is not always easy to drag the focus on shoes if you want to showcase the outfit as well πŸ˜‰

The amazing, cool hair was made by Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions.

I have a weakness for circus themes anyways especially the more vintage ones, so this pictures really were a lot of fun πŸ™‚

I was allowed to walk along with the Scala Grad Students!

Shey Casual 01

Last weekend I had the great pleasure to walk the Graduation Show of the last Scala Academy batch, side by side with the grad students! It was so much fun and I kinda missed my good old student days πŸ˜‰

Since I got some of the students to know during the last batch of the academy, I did know I really have to watch my stylings, since we really had some very promising stylists! That does not mean I would not watch my stylings usually too but it is a very different feeling to walk along with the models that you taught about styling and other things before.

Plus, I know how obsessed Seashell is with poses and since we all had to be checked by her too… that was quite a challenge πŸ˜‰

Shey Casual 02

The sponsor for this graduation show was Shey. A wonderful brand with so many different styles. All of us got 3 outfits, which we had to style for the show.

Mine was all very different and so I tried to do justice to each of them πŸ™‚

Β My first assigned run was the “Aukje” outfit. The outfit comes as a complete outfit including top, skirt, belt and pants. When I put it on it immediately screamed “rock!” to me. The short skirt with that open vest seriously needs to be styled urban and kick ass for me πŸ˜‰ So I wanted to have a cool necklace but nothing elegant and sophisticated, more something loose and cool looking. I decided to go with the “Legendary” necklace from Mandala. The huge necklace made me kinda skip on the earrings but I did not wanna go with bare ears either. Solution: The special mesh ears from Mandala with the piercings and tunnels on it!

I am addicted to tattoos and I know many do not really like them on the runway. I had requested permission to do so for that very particular style since it kinda screamed for a tattoo πŸ˜‰

The tattoo is from my favourite tattoo maker, Julie Hastings, owner and designer of [White~Widow]. The super cool makeup is a combination of Nuuna’s And Zibska, that I added over each other.

It still looked as if it would miss something and I started to experiment with my hair. I tried a lot of different hair and none would satisfy me for the look as I came across the idea of a hat. The extravagant “Dali” hat from [sys]. The hat has an open back, which allows you to have hair that goes a little higher that usually for hats.

Shey Casual 03

My second outfit was more classy chic and when I tried it the first time, I did know I had to put my personal twist on it πŸ˜‰

Β Shey Funky 01

The “Mira” outfit comes with a blouse and skirt. The top is a kinda overlapping style and with its asymmetric shape and the high open front it has a definitely sexy touch.

Shey Funky 02

The skirt with its asymmetric shape and the amazing ornamented belt gave room for a little bit of crazy ness and I decided to try the “Gorgo Metal Helm” That looked so weird that it already was kinda cool again :p So I decided to keep it. Since I have so much going on, on my head, I have to keep the jewelry to a minimum for my personal taste. So I just added the “Sinra” Earrings from Mandala and the “Axiom” bracelet made by [sys].

Shey Funky 03

My 3rd and last outfit looked to me very elegant when I tried it on the first time.

Shey Formal 01

The “Sonia Prestige Gown” as well is an asymmetric gown. The left leg is long down to the ground while the right one ends short under the hips at the right upper leg. The top only is held by a filigree chain round the neck.

I wanted to keep that elegant touch and though about something what could work as well as accessory and for jewelry since the little chain round the neck does not let any room for a necklace. All ofΒ  a sudden the “Butterfly Neobaroque” head-piece from Swallow came to my mind. For the shoulders I chose a mixture off 2 different Finesmith sets, or better parts of them πŸ˜‰

For the earrings I just put some little and simple pearl earrings as I wanted to wear the “Celeste” face chain to complement the chain around my neck.

The show was a blast and I was very happy to be allowed to walk with our grads. Great looks, a great set and a cool bunch of amazing, skilled and upcoming stylists and models πŸ™‚ Thank you Scala, thank you Seashell and Kryptonia!
