A Night after Christmas with Asia Rae and E.V.E Studio

Asia Rae 01

Phew Christmas is over and I have my ‘normal life’ back 😉

That gives me time, to blog about the newest releases of Asia Rae, E.V.E Studio and EMO-tions.

The amazing “Magissa Latex Dress” is one of the latest news by Asia Rae. The dress is a fashion dream with the huge cape looking shoulder part, that goes down until the elbows and the amazing combination of a knitted texture for the sleeves in contrast to the shiny latex looking fabric of the dress itself.Asia Rae 02

The super cool hair comes from EMO-tions for the Shiny Shabby Event. It is called “Jezebel” The huge hair style with the extraordinary shape comes with several appliers for mesh heads for the hair base and as well the amazing head band is part of the whole look.

Now I would like to drag your view no the amazing horns. They were made by Noke Yuitza for E.V.E Studio. The awesome horns are part of her Moon Collection, inspired by the winter nature. As always for E.V.E Studio the horns are 100% original mesh and materials enabled. You can choose between different colors for the horns to make them fit your desires 🙂

Sceneries are always important for pictures and for today I chose the amazing “Christmas Decoration Set” from 22769 to make my sweet and cozy background.

And now I will put back all my Christmas stuff into boxes and put it back in the attic of my sweet little Hobbit House until next year 😉

GizzA goes Vintage

Gizza 2

I love vintage looks! I always did though and so the “Absinthe” dress in vintage green totally caught my heart 😉

The dress comes with the matching necklace and is available in other wonderful vintage and non vintage patterns.

The wonderful floral print adds a lot of sweetness and beauty to the whole look.

To match the dress I certainly wanted a good girl hair and I remembered one of the braided hair styles from EMO-tions, the “Mela” hair.

The shoes, which came in the perfect shade are from Eudora.

Now I needed a place to snap this cute look. Lately Saz did renew the little parcel behind our store to a wonderful summery looking scene. I tried several places and it was really a hard desicion since there are so many nice spots 😉

Tadaaaa, that’s my GizzA vintage look for today 😉

Playing with Projectors and Lighs – Part I

TFC Fantasy 01

A few days ago, I joined a class about blogging as I wanted to know if I can learn something new, as I am always looking for new thing I can discover and raise my horizon.

The class was amazing and at some point we came to the part of the pictures and how to take them and wich kind of pictures are for what situation. Usually you have more clean pics for blogging and castings and some more artistic pictures for a storytelling blog post or magazines.

We were talking about many of the very popular photographers in SL and as well about the difference of photographer and artists.

While a photographer usually just takes pics and does them tweak a little bit in one of the graphic programs, the artist takes a snapshot and you will not see the original snap anymore after the artist did the magic with the picture in his program by painting and editing a lot by hand. I would never go so far, to say one has less work or more work than the other, the amount of work might be the same, just it is in 2 totally different ways. While the artist has to be very familiar with his editing s program, his graphic tablet and his skills to paint and illustrate, the photographer needs to be familiar with the SL windlights, shadows, special angles and lights and maybe even with projectors or lighting tools. Both is a lot of work, I believe and it needs a lot of practice just it complete different ways.

TFC Fantasy 02

I saw for a longer time , that many photographers work with a tool called lumipro. I remember great pics done with this special light tool and I always wanted one to try but, since it is not cheap and I work in so many different areas, I never got one.

But then… lately I was talking to a very long friend of mine a lot and helped her here and there if she wanted my opinion, as friends do usually. Out of the blue one day when I logged in I got a gift…

The crazy girl did know, that I was after the lumipro for quite some time and guess what… She gifted me a lumipro!!! I stormed her IMs telling her she would be crazy to make such expensive gifts and I was totally happy and crazy about. She was just calm, smiles and told me that would be her way to show me how much she appreciated my help. I told her, that I did not do that for any kind of gift, more just because of our friendship and that I never expected anything for that, but she insisted on that this would be her way and I better accept it.

OMG I have a lumipro!

The rest of the evening was just gone, with all the work I wanted to do and I totally lost myself in my new toy. I have to admit I have still no clue how it works properly and I will need to watch a lot of tutorials and ask around to really get used to this fantastic tool but I am more than willing to try!

For today I just played around with the presets and changed them lightly, to see what possibilities and features it has.

TFC Fantasy 03

God this is a weapon if you know what you are doing with it!!!

I just placed myself in front of a white wall with my war turtle from [Swagga] and turned my windlight settings to midnight to see the full range of the light balls.

I was blown away what those 3 balls can do and I digged further into the user manual on the lumipro website to see what all those buttons of the HUD can do.

Then I found the projectors… holy cow! Now I know how some light settings were made on pictures that I loved so much!

The way to project lights behind you with different textures as filters, was something I totally had forgotten about since I started to play with windlights.

I do not know much at all yet to really use this fantastic photography tool properly, but I know that I will spend a lot of time in the future to be able to operate this HUD and bein able to use all its functions and features as this really is a lot of fun to play around with and that is the reason why I named this post ‘Part I’, because I am really sure about that this will not be the last post about my playing with lights and projectors 😉

But for now I have to finish as there is a lot of work left wich got delayed because of my new lumipro :p

News at Mea Culpa – Beyond Oz

Mea Culpa - Beyond Oz 001

Today I would like to showcase the latest release from Mea Culpa. After the amazing pret a porter line, Tatanka Kaligawa, owner and designer of Mea Culpa now again released a wonderful avant-garde dress again.

Mea Culpa - Beyond Oz 002

The “Beyond Oz” has a mesh made basic, wich is wonderfully textured with a black fabric that wears amazing silver ornaments. The hips are decorated with huge ruffles on each side and for the shoulder you have a huge geometric looking attachment. The shape and style of this shoulder attachment is repeated in 2 awesome huge bracelets.

What caught my attention was the big and cool head piece with the jewelry. The headpiece looks like a huge black hair bun wich again captures the look and style of the shoulder part and the bracelets. Connected to that bun, you have a wonderful flexible attachment in the same texture as the dress.

The necklace and the head jewelry are as well part of the outfit. The black pearls complete the “Beyond Oz” dress perfectly and give it a beautiful and elegant touch. Since the head jewelry and the necklace are single parts you can wear them to any other styling as well 😉 .

The cool matching makeup comes from Silken Moon. The “Kabuki” gives the styling an even more avant-garde look and it should not miss in a fashionista’s wardrobe.

Medieval Moods

(Models: Falbala Fairey & Wicca Merlin; Picture: Falbala Fairey)

TWA – The White Armory... we all know the creations of Bee Dumpling. She made wonderful creations wh let every medieval heart beat higher. Many roleplayers are basically have a second home in her store 🙂

For the wonderful first picture of this blog I would like to thank my little sister Falbala Fairey. I admire the style she does her pictures in and so I asked her, if she would pose with me for a medieval picture and if she would even do the picture :). The styling card of Falbala’s outfit you can find at  http://falbalafaireyfashionblog.wordpress.com/

Now lets take a closer look on my outfit, the wonderful “Dance of the Maiden Gown – Lady Annette”. The whole dress carries pink, white and black as colors. The textures and fabrics are amazing and detailed made.. you really can see how much love and time Bee puts in her creations. The beautiful white blouse with the long and flexible arm sleeves, the incredible corset vest with the awesome arm parts… simply a dream. Every little detail is captured so intensive and real I rarely saw such a great and filigree eye for the details as Bee Dumpling puts it on her designs. The “Dance of the Maiden” dress you will find in more colors than the one I just showed… for that you better take a look for yourself at the TWA Mainstore.
