Winter Thoughts

Today, just a ‘quicky’ as I had fun doing a picture with this look, but posing the coat drove me nuts…

Do you know that feeling if you are trying to make a picture with some cool poses and then long coats or skirts do not cooperate due game mechanics? It is so frustrating. I do not wanna tilt my picture sideways, just because I do want to have a picture where you can see the full outfit! I realized that it became some kind of a trend to just tilt your pictures 90 degrees, but to be honest… I don’t like that for myself. I always have the desire to tilt my monitor to see those pictures the right way and that can get pretty annoying to me. I love sit, crouch and leaning poses a lot more than just simple standing poses. With my usual blog pictures size, I get more ambiance and landscapes into pictures, than the actual outfit I do want to showcase. I do not know what it is, that I try to get away from simple standing poses… maybe they are not emotional enough to me anymore, because I saw and used them too many times on the runway and on pictures. Especially if you have some details like shoes, hair or rings, you don’t want to do crops only all the time and specific poses or special poses with a little more. Speaking of shoes, the shoes I am wearing for this post are from [Gos]. Those cute ankle boots with the sharp tip, are the perfect addition to the cool nearly vintage/Victorian looking coat from Hotdog. I do like to break the typical style rules and combine different items from different epochs πŸ˜‰

As usual the amazing 3 HUDs – Boutique, Blueberry and Metallic – are available for the “Hurley Ankle Boots”. The have a quite wide shaft and so you can manage to wear some mesh pants with them.

The cool hair, which usually is way too modern for the coat, but matches the booties so nicely is one of the latest releases from no.match at the Cosmopolitan event. I do have an addiction to short hair πŸ˜‰

I wanted a winter scenery for my picture, but not the usual shiny, sweet winter wonderland type… I wanted something more dark, desert and lonely looking, BUT I wanted to rez that amazing “Building Remains” structure, that DRD released for the actual round of their Eclipse event. Probably you can imagine if you search for a certain type of location AND would like to rez something, that can drive you nuts and most of the time you will end up building one yourself. I was simply to lazy today to do that :p I finally found a spot on Luanes Winter World sim. I just had to de-rez a few of the sweet things and it worked! I was so happy with that, as I already thought that will take hours to find what I was imagining.

Romantic Dreams with [AD] Creations

AD Creations 01

Today I was in a very romantic mood, when I remembered the amazing “Oltre” mesh dress from [AD] Creations. Aliza Karu again outdid herself with a fantastic unique creation, that totally caught my heart.

The amazing “Oltre” dress has a bottom long skirt with a wonderful transparent net fabric skirt on top of the opaque one, wich adds a lot of sweet elegance and gives the whole look a very playful touch. The puffy sleeves in that darker color high light the upper body part in an amazing way. The huge head-piece as well is part of the outfit. With the long tentacle looking pats in the back it reminds me very much of some couture looks, I recently saw in fashion magazines.

The tendrils that surround the whole upper body and reach down to the skirt are ornamented with beautiful roses and petals what brought me to the idea to accessorize the dress with some designs of Pixel Box, which I got recently.

The “Goth Rose Ring”, the “Gothic Roses Necklace” and the “Goth Roses” eye patch. With the rose ornaments on the jewelry items it was a perfect match to the “Oltre” dress from [AD] Creations.

The fantastic building I used for the photo comes from “Atelier Visconti” and was released at the Fantasy Faire as an RFL item called “Morgana Fountain”. It comes in 4 different versions. One as a full version and 3 different versions of a ruined one. With the sweet water lilies in the middle totally matched the tendrils that surround the body and underlined the wonderful dreamy and fantasy look I wanted for today’s post πŸ™‚

Steampunk with Dead Dollz & EMO-tions

Steampunk 01

Steampunk is one of my favourite fashion categories. I love the mechanical ideas, the colors and as well the Victorian touch of most of the styles and designs. Not everything might be steampunk looking first hand but with the right accessories some might be able to transform into it πŸ˜‰

Today I took the fantastic “Octavia” ensemble, wich Dead Dollz released for the Fantasy Collective. The amazing outfit contains skirt, corset and the shoulderpart. The wonderful skirt has amazing ruffles in the back and the tight underbust corset has amazing fabrics and textures. The “Octavia” dress is available in 3 different colors and I chose the brown one for todays post.

To cover the chest I took one of my favourite bras, the “Bettie Bad Girl Bra” from Faster Pussycat.with the golden outlines it went so perfectly with the “Octavia” dress.

For the hair i took one of the newer releases from EMO-tions, called “Tanja”- Tanja is a sweet updo with some smart wisps and a longer front, perfect for the steam punk look πŸ˜‰

To even more point out on the steam punk character of the look I decided to choose my accessories from Pixel Box. The incredible”Steampunk Multi Monocle” together with the “Steampunk Clock” set wich contains a necklace, earrings and the ring – the earrings I did not use for this post – was the perfect addition.

The”Bird Skull” hair accessory, made by LoQ is one of my favourite hair pieces πŸ˜‰ and so I could not resist to add it today again as it looked so sweet together with the book, it gave a little science touch, which I really loved. Such things kinda happen when you just fool around with your headpiece folder to find something that matches your look :p .

My Bloody Valentine with Prism

02-19-2015-02a

On the 14th of February SCALA was having an awesome ‘Bloody Valentine’ fashion show. Who else that Honey Bender could come up with such an incredible idea and as a creative director at SCALA he helped to make this come true.

For all who missed the show… there is an amazing video on youtube, so at least you can get an idea about what I am talking.

BLOODY VALENTINE VIDEO

I felt very honored, when SCALA asked me to be part as a designer and I made 4 very special deigns for that but that will be a another post πŸ˜‰

Originally I was not counted in as a model as I try to avoid walking shows where my own creations are being showcased, so that I can fully enjoy the show and see what models did with my creations.

But I found my name on the list of the backup models and it was ok because usually at SCALA there are not really any dropouts. Since I am a good girl (yes even me sometimes) I went to the rehearsals so that just could fill in if really needed, since the walks at SCALA usually are not that easy.

After we tried the run order on this amazing maze –Β  yes we had a lot of fun by exploring where we have to go – we found one little issue and before I even realized I was pulled in for one outfit. And what me lucky girl got assigned?

PRISM! – YAAAAAY!

02-19-2015-01a

I know Journey McLaglen, owner and designer of Prism, usually gives me free reigns to style stuff and she does not mind, if I put my little weird and funky tweak on it :p

So … for Bloody Valentine show and me having free reigns … go figure, I had a lot of fun πŸ™‚

The “Tikka” outfit contains a red, short leather skirt and a creme kinda brownish top with an amazing looking print in the front wich perfectly matches the Bloody Valentine Idea.

First of all I wanted some heavy boots to go into a contrast to the more girly looking short skirt. I remembered some really funky boots wich I got from Remarkable Oblivion (RO), called “Hobnails”. With the cool open front showing some hungry teeth those were the right choice for the themed show πŸ˜‰

Now since the boots has such a grungy look I wanted to put on some socks and maybe some ripped stockings. :::insanya::: made those as a combination of exactly that… socks with ripped stockings underneath.

I did not wanna go with gloves so I thought about what else I could put on my arms, which felt kinda naked besides the amazing tattoo from Letis Tattoo.

I remembered a great arm gear from Death Row Designs. It comes for both arms but since I like asymmetric things a lot and both would have been too much I just put on the 3 parts for the left arm.

Since the whole look totally became crazy, I needed some crazy hair as well. Wich could do the job better that one of the amazing “Bizarre Hairs” that I have. Sadly the big folder I used to have disappeared some when and never came back. But some of my favourite ones, I got replaced by the very kind MyStiCa Matova, owner and designer of Bizarre Hair and so I am able to use the awesome “Angel of Elements” hair for today’s look.

To underline the Bloody Valentine theme, wich should make a total opposite to the usually sweet and nice Valentine’s Day, I wanted to go drastically on my makeup. REPULSE offers a lot of really creepy makeups and I could not resist to go for the “Worm Eye” for the right eye and a little “Forced Smile” for the left side of my mouth corner.

And last but not least, something I wanted to do in forever on a SL runway since I am used to do that in RL on stage when we play with the band… I wanted to smoke a cigarette and I know this was the only time I could get away with that :p.

I really had fun developing that look and I am very sure that the “Tikka” outfit from Prism would have never thought to be worn in that way πŸ˜‰
