Avantasia for THEMA Magazine

THEMA Magazine - Avantasia 002

Avantasia

(some when in the future round about the year 2525 maybe….)

Be aware of the life on Avantasia before you venture into this world in the climax of war and anarchy, their enemies, the sirens of Venus who else.  The Avantasians are a complex race but by no means should they be underestimated, from their flexibility to the swifness of their long sharp talons, their catlike movements ooze in deadly elegance and subtle seduction as they prowl their world in search for the ultimate in style to seduce their next victim…I mean mate.

THEMA Magazine - Avantasia 005

Sometimes you just need 2 to 3 pictures and you end up with 9 and cannot decide which ones to use. That happened to me when I made my pictures for the actual THEMA Magazine (http://issuu.com/themapublications/docs/thema_terraefirma)

THEMA Magazine - Avantasia 003

The theme was Terrae Firma, and we was asked to create pictures about a new race of the existing planets or a new planet. When Tayler told me, I was immediately sure I wanted to create a new planet with a new race.

I wanted to do something still fashion related and human but to the same time, futuristic and apocalyptic. I love apocalyptic movies and art and so I watched  a few of my favourite movies while I was styling.

THEMA Magazine - Avantasia 010

The first piece that came to my mind was the “Lucian Hat Nox” hat from Machoire. An incredible headpiece made of so many filigree parts and textured with such a great feeling for materials.

This amazing art piece is available in different colors, wich you all can see at the Machoire main store or at their website (http://machoire.blogspot.fr/)

THEMA Magazine - Avantasia 007

Now I had to find something what kinda showed evolution for the future but still has a human aspect for the whole look.

The head-piece gave a rough idea for the general colors, back and some kind of metal should be the basic.

So started with a super old but still amazing top from Muhi. One of the brands I really miss in SL as they always were up to date and very fashion forward.

I know some people are against wearing old stuff and tell always to delete older things, but I am going more with my belly feeling and keep old things which I really like to combine them with new things. That sometimes can make a look very unique, as long as you keep the general style up to date and modern. Certainly some things are outdated some when, like the super old skins or hair, wich automatically let you look like 2007 :p , but for some clothing pieces and accessories that might not be the case 😉 . As well I would say there is a difference in wearing old things for a picture or on the runway as some of the older things just react weird with movement, especially if they have huge static prims or sculpties, wich can look better with a nowadays mesh prim that actually moves with your properly.

THEMA Magazine - Avantasia 004

To add a modern touch I put on my “Lavinia Leggins” in anthracite, which I made for my store Wicca’s Wardrobe. With the leathern garter belt over the leggings – one piece to wear – it got a strong and powerful look but as well some sexy attitude.

To finish the basic human look I added hells from Death Row Designs with some heavy chains and a huge plateau heel.

Now the challenge started to develop the human race forward to fit in the futuristic and apocalyptic environment, that I had in my mind for the new planet and race.

The first idea was the “Demonhands” from Death Row Designs. The sharp claws are important to fight and survive on the new planets face.

THEMA Magazine - Avantasia 006

I so many apocalyptic movies females wear corsets in some style and this made me add one corset of Trilobite over the “Asymetrical Bodysuit” from Muhi. And what should not miss? Some weapon looking accessories. Those I found as well at Death Row Designs.. I bet you can tell I love this store really a lot 😉 .

The finish was the “Centipede” spine attachment, that comes with a wonderful tattoo layer. The tattoo makes the spine look like, as it would grow out directly off your back.

All the poses used in this post are from Del May, one of my favourite pose makers beside PosESioN or Corpus to just name a few.

And like I said in the beginning, It was so hard to decide between all the pictures I made, that this post is a little bit picture heavy 😉

I would like to thank Taylor Wassep for this amazing opportunity and the great inspiration of her theme. The THEMA Magazine is for me really kinda an art exhibition with amazing stylists and photographers and I am feeling very honored that I was allowed to be part again 🙂

Made of Stone with Machoire

Machoire 01a

“Made Of Stone”

TUNES

Speak your mind,
Like I care
I can see your lips moving
I’ve just learned not to hear
Don’t waste your time

It’s never enough for you baby
Don’t want to play your game anymore
No matter what you say
I’m all out of love for you, baby
And now that I’ve tried everything
I’ll numb the pain,
‘Til I am made of stone

Take your time
I’m not scared
Make me everything you need me to be
So the judgment seems fair

Don’t waste your time

Machoire 02a

It’s never enough for you, baby
Don’t want to play your game anymore
No matter what you say
I’m all out of love for you, baby
And now that I’ve tried everything
I’ll numb the pain
‘Til I am made to

Tear out my heart
For the way that it feels
I will still remember when you’ve long forgotten me

It’s never enough for you, baby
Don’t want to play your game anymore
No matter what you say
I’m all out of love for you, baby
And now that I’ve tried everything
I’ll numb the pain
‘Til I’m made of stone
It’s never enough
It’s never enough
It’s never enough
I’ll numb the pain
‘Til I am made of stone
I’ll numb the pain
‘Til I am made of stone

New @ Machoire

Avant Kette 03b

Today I am very happy, tha I am able to showcase a very new designer on the grid. Machoire, a genius woman, who named her brand after herself or vice versa ;).

She creates original mesh and designs jewelry, hair and accessories in a very artistic way in a new and modern look and style.

Today I would like to showcase one of her great new necklaces called “Livay Nacklace”.

Avant Kette 02b

This huge necklace is an art piece and you do not need any busy outfit for it, tha is why I just put on a tight body suit to really let this wonderful design shine and not drag any attention from it.

You have a wonderful front, wich goes deep down to the belly and the back as well is wonderfully handcrafted and artistic shaped. As a little decoration in the front you have some sweet little gems added. The whole piece is texture change able with the huge HUD that comes with the necklace. You have the choice to change the metals and the gems to make sure you can make it match to all of your outfits and stylings.

Machoire… definitely a name to remember or put on your shopping list and I am very curious what she will bring out next! Avant Kette 04b

Hunger Games Tribute by Wicca’s Wardrobe

WW - Johanna 01

“Hope, it is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective, a lot of hope is dangerous.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

And again I am back with another of my creations for the Hunger Games Tribute event ran by Opium Evolution.

Today I would like to showcase my “Johanna” dress. This dress is made with the idea of Capitol Couture.

The dress is basically a short dress with a long train in the back. The shoulders are free and a huge collar lays round the neck. To connect the dress and the collar I placed one of the popular mockingjaw brooches at the left side of the chest. The dress itself has a basic black texture and the golden brocade corset sets a wonderful accent to the black and gives the whole ensemble a sophisticated touch. To bring back the gold, the long train was overlayed with a golden gitter net looking gaze. The huge black and gold headpiece as well is part of the outfit and comes in a rigged and an unrigged version.

To complete the look I added one armlet in black and one bracelet in gold.

At the moment you can see all my new releases for the Hunger Games Tribute even – female AND male – at the shopping area of the Hunger Games Tribute event sim (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/PAPAS/175/158/22)

Pose Fair 2014 – News from Wicca’s Wardrobe!

WM - Poses Momentum Set Posefair 2014 logo

The Pose Fair 2014 is up! RubyStarlight Writer again made it to put together one of the most popular events on the grid. Every year she takes a lot of time and effort to feature a lot of pose designers on her fair. This year she created an amazing place for the Pose Fair 2014.

WM - Poses Dark Lady Set Posefair 2014 logo

When you enter the sim you will immediately see what I am talking about. The whole place is black and just the shop entrances are highlighted. When I set up my store I really was impressed and it was super fun to just walk around and enjoy the feeling of the darkeness outside of the shops 😉

WM - Poses Elegant Clutch Set Posefair 2014 logo

For me this Pose Fair is very special as I was allowed to be part as a designer for the first time 🙂 . For my debut on the Pose Fair 2014 I made 4 different sets who are exclusively released atthe Pose Fair 2014 for now.

§ sets for the ladies and one for the gents. After I was asked so often to make some more male poses I had to include at least one set for the males as well even if I was told and as well shown, that some of my other sets as well work unisex.

I hope you enjoy my new sets and have fun by using them for runway or pictures 😉

You should not miss that great experience of the Pose Fair 2014 and all the great and amazing new and exclusive releases of all the designers who are being part 🙂

Wicca’s Wardrobe: New Age – My Debut

New Age for Blog

Today I am very excited and nervous because this will be my first pose about some clothing I made myself.

At the end of January I will turn 7 years old in SL. 7 years are a lot of time and if I look back most of the time I really had fun 😉 .

I explored a lot, tried to RP and dancing in clubs and after sometime I found my way into modeling in the end of 2008 by taking my first modeling classes at schools and academies. Since then I was doing a lot of runway shows, various video productions, managing different stores, having my own agencies and magazine with SL Art Couture and discovered blogging as one of my addictions besides teaching.

Early 2013 I realized my self being kinda restless as I wanted to do something new. First I was not really sure what it should be. More and more the dream was growing inside of me t make something, something that i can hold in my hands saying it is made by me 😉

First I tried it with poses. I was making poses anyways for my blog sometimes and after I was asked why I do not sell them, the idea of Wicca’s Wardrobe was born. For quite some time I just made poses and I still have fun doing that. But more and more a nother desire was growing inside myself… I wanted to create more than poses. After looking a bit on marketplace I found the wonderful world of mesh, sculpties and prims. Together with my Photoshop addiction the plan to make shoes or clothing for myself came more and more real.

New Age Bracelets Blog

I started with some accessories like head pieces or hats and some bracers until I found some awesome pants on Marketplace I wanted to try for myself first. It worked out quite nice and so I decided I can put it to Wicca’s Wardrobe. One by one all the pieces of the “New Age” outfit found their way into my inventory and I had a lot of fun by trying different textures and combinations. The result was the “New Age” outfit in 3 lightly different versions.

New Age Blog 2

The outfit can be purchased as a total for each version or you can mix and match together your version if you just pick the single at my Mainstore. The whole “New Age” outfit contains awesome mesh pants with those fancy leg shape, the mesh top that can be worn with or without the shoulder attachment and you can choose between 3 types of bracers. The shoulder parts and bracers are able to be fitted with a resizer and for the mesh parts you always have the 5 standard sizes.

If you wanna try if the “New Age” outfit is something for you or if it fits you just take a look at Wicca’s Wardrobe, you will find demos to try there.

News at Mea Culpa – Beyond Oz

Mea Culpa - Beyond Oz 001

Today I would like to showcase the latest release from Mea Culpa. After the amazing pret a porter line, Tatanka Kaligawa, owner and designer of Mea Culpa now again released a wonderful avant-garde dress again.

Mea Culpa - Beyond Oz 002

The “Beyond Oz” has a mesh made basic, wich is wonderfully textured with a black fabric that wears amazing silver ornaments. The hips are decorated with huge ruffles on each side and for the shoulder you have a huge geometric looking attachment. The shape and style of this shoulder attachment is repeated in 2 awesome huge bracelets.

What caught my attention was the big and cool head piece with the jewelry. The headpiece looks like a huge black hair bun wich again captures the look and style of the shoulder part and the bracelets. Connected to that bun, you have a wonderful flexible attachment in the same texture as the dress.

The necklace and the head jewelry are as well part of the outfit. The black pearls complete the “Beyond Oz” dress perfectly and give it a beautiful and elegant touch. Since the head jewelry and the necklace are single parts you can wear them to any other styling as well 😉 .

The cool matching makeup comes from Silken Moon. The “Kabuki” gives the styling an even more avant-garde look and it should not miss in a fashionista’s wardrobe.

Wicca’s Wardrobe: How I put my looks together? Sometimes I do not even know by myself ;)

PurpleMoon Half

Sometimes I get asked how I start styling and if I could describe what I do. For the usual fashion stylings I can at least try to explain what I do one after another as you usually follow certain rules when you put a look together that you got asked for. Sometimes you follow the standard color schemes or you style after an RL look that you saw somewhere, or you use some other source of inspiration. But there is days, at least for me, where I do not have anything requested and start going through my inventory. Sometimes I get stuck with an item, an accessory, and wanna turn this in a whole look. But when I try to go by the first idea, that this detail gave me, I get stuck and do not really know what I can do to complete it, without looking boring or stereotype with so many others that were wearing that item before. And who wants to see the same item over and over again in the same way?

For today it ws the “Hunter Headdress” headpiece from XtraX, that caught my attention. I found it longer ago on the “I <3 RP” event. I was looking for horns as the “Hunters Headdress” fell into my hands. I could not resist to buy it, even if I had no idea yet what I am going to use it for. Sometimes things have to rest in your inventory for a while like a good bottle of red wine before you have the perfect idea how you wanna use it :p .

PurpleMoon Full 2

I was sorting my inventory as I came across the headpiece and I just put it on to see how it fits as it part wise mesh. Then I stood there at my studio – naked, only wearing that headpiece and tried to imagine a styling. If I would have used my first idea I would have tried some fantasy looking, but I kinda wanted to have something more realistic. The “Hunters Headdress” headpiece combines so many different fabrics and items, the leather, the suede parts, the horns and the little accessories on the horns. I remembered an old Benetton advertise campaign and this idea kinda got stuck in my head. United Colors of Benetton always had chic casual clothing. So I looked through a few of my last folders I got for blogging and found the “Brandy” mesh dress from PurpleMoon. The colors were perfect matching the headpiece.

Since I did not want to go too sexy, I added some leggings as I like the way how short dresses or hot-pants go together with leggings or tights. Maybe that’s something I still carry with me from the 80’s :p . For the shoes I had some boots in mind, that I had for a long time, a time where mesh was not yet on the grid and those sculpties was one of the first and best ones I saw, when it came to realistic looking shoes. I did know, that they were from Hoorenbeek, but I could not recall the name of them. Since I had an addiction to this brand for quiet some time, I do not have just one pair and so I started looking through my Hoorenbeek shoe folder. Finally I found the “Lucille” boots in the tan/beige color. The brown and creme tone was a wonderful match in my opinion. With the mask there is no need to look for hair, makeup or earrings so I just wanted to ad some bracelets and maybe a necklace. For the necklace I recalled the last releases from EMO-tions back to my mind. There was a new mesh necklace from Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions, that should match the look. A not too elegant but excellent made long modern necklace called “Precious”, in the colors green, brown and silver parts in different shapes.

PurpleMoon Close 1

When I looked at the result I really was not sure what it should be and how I can orchestrate this for a picture. That does not mean I did not like it but with such a controverse look, I needed something strong, lightly dark and kinda grunge looking. I saw such a place not too long ago and looked through my ‘Photo Places’ folder, till I found it again – “Old New York

For the right poses I first wanted to make some, but then I remebered some of my Del May poses that should be perfect for this. Powerful, different and expressive, so why make poses when you aready have wonderful ones that perfectly fit 🙂 ?

I hope you enjoyed my little styling journey 🙂

Stay styled,

Wicca

Violator has a new Prêt-à-porter line!

Violator - Pretaporter Black Gold

Incredible news at Violator! Soraya Vaher created a new line for Violator, a Prêt-à-porter collection. The idea behind that was, to have something that can be worn as part of the everyday wardrobe, for an affordable prize but still with the well known luxury that Violator offers for all their creations.

The new collection is named “Budget Chic – More for Less” and it offers some really amazing designs in different colors, always combined with gold or silver.

For todays post I decided to stay to black and showcase one black & gold and one black & silver look.

The first one you can see above is the amazing “Scherhazade” jumpsuit. The trendy wide pants together with the sexy top that shows a lot of clevage really lets every lady shine. The amazing jumpsuit is a one part mesh design and makes it easy to just put it on and look amazing 😉

To finish the look I added one of the newest releases of Finesmith, the “Diamond” set. I was able to change the textures of all parts with a menu to match the “Schehazade” jumpsiot perfectty and the necklace that goes up on the right shoulder underlined the luxury of the whole styling.

Violator - Pretaporter Black Gold silver boots

The matching shoes as well are part of the new “Budget Chic” collection. Soraya made them matching to each color and metal variation she created for the new line. Since I decided to go black and just exchange the gold for the silver, I only have the black version of the “Pride” stilettos shown in this post 😉 The spikes make a wonderful edge to the black ankle boots and the silver and gold decorations bring back the metal parts of the style in an awesome way.

The second look is put together of 2 different parts of the new “Budget Chic” collection. The “Candy” skirt and the “Passion” jacket.

The “Passion” jacket is an open mesh jacket ornamented with a wonderful silver texture and at the neck you have an amazing flower part that goes up on the left shoulder. The “Candy” skirt repeats the silver texture and is decorated with an amazing ruffled bow in the front. The two little slits at the upper thighs ad again a very sexy touch.

I only added the “Diamond” earrings of the same set I was wearing before just textured a little different, to match the silver parts of the outfit, fishnet stockings and a tie I found at Redgrave as part of a top.

So do not wait and TP over to the Violator Mainstore and see all the amazing colors and styles of the new “Budget Chic” colletion and enjoy all the new designs without getting broke 😉
