Caira [Latex Edition] – NEW @ Wicca’s Wardrobe

Lately I had a long talk with a close friend of mine about latex on fashion runways.

In the end we both agreed that latex can be a very fashionable fabric for clothing and accessories and so the idea of the “Caira” Latex Edition was born.

I know from various talks with other SL models, that many feel uncomphortable with wearing latex or think that latex just belong to others peoples bedrooms.

I never understood that because if you look at RL runways the high fashion designers used latex and vinyl for years. It all always depends on the way of how the latex is used and as well about the presentation.

To me latex always was something that had a very cool look to many different designs. Sometimes you saw very casual clothing shapes totally changed in their attitude with just being made of latex.

When we made the new “Caira” outfit for the store, we first had a Leather Edition, but we wanted to try how it would look in latex or vinyl as well and so we gave it a try. I have to say latex is one of the hardest materials you can try in SL probably as all the shine and lights are not really easy to do.

If you ever saw a latex clothing piece in RL, it basically just has a surface that is very clean, glossy and sleek with nearly no fabric structure. So everything what makes the look of latex is the light of the surrounding, that gets reflected by the clothing piece. That means it never will have the shadows and lights on the same spot, basically they change with every move.

Now try to make some permanent high lights for SL, which donot look like you wouldhave painted on someones body with a wide brush of white wall paint :p

It took some time until we all were satisfied with our version of a latex looking “Caira” but the result now really looks good and I love to wear it myself a lot. Especially becasue iam allergic to latex in RL and can’t do it there at all without getting bad pimples and itchy spots all over my skin *giggles*

In the end I guess everyone needs to decide on their own, if they wanna wear latex or vinyl or not, but I would not ban it from the runways or out of fashion blogs in general 😉 To me they are refreshing and extraordiary plus sometimes.

I had fun doing those pictures, giving them an art touch with different lightnings and crops 😉

The Runway Perfect Hunt #4 – Part 2 & Amazing News from Finesmith

TRPH #1 Halfa

The Runway Perfect Hunt goes in it’s 4th round :) . Morgane Batista again made it, to get amazing designers to participate in one of the most famous hunts on the grid. Even if the title says “The hunt with models in mind” does not mean this hunt is limited to models only. All the amazing and versatile designs are amazing additions to everybody’s wardrobe, even the males will find some amazing hunt prizes in some locations ;) This year the hunt is not a total freebie hunt, each hunt item costs $5 Linden. With a total of 50 shops you reach a maximum of $250 Linden, what is a great amount for so many amazing quality designs!

The amazing “Vintage Dress Neon” is done by Silken Moon, location #4. The short mesh dress is a firework of colors. While the front is dominated by red, range and yellow the backside features the green and blue color themes.

The stylish hair comes from store #14 –  L+N, a very popular brand for extra ordinary hair and clothing. The wild hair looks like flames in the red/brown color and the awesome flowers at the top and the back make this a total eye catcher.

The cute shoes as well are part of TRPH and you can find them at location #13. Loordes of London contributes the “Burbleary” booties. Black booties with a red sole and green top.

Now I would like to take a closer look at the jewelry, what is not part of the hunt but matched the styling so amazingly 😉 The new “Matbuja” set from Finesmith, is nothing that you can just wear as a ‘side acessory’. The set is something that definately pulls some focus. The huge plates of the necklace are repeated with the earrings and the bracelet is as well part of the set. What I liked a lot was the perfect mix of silver and brown/grey shades that give the whole set a very realistic look. For this post I used the platinum version but if you take a look at the Finesmith Mainstore, wou can find more amazing colors 😉

Personal Show Review: AVENUE – GizzA lüks

On the 12th of November, AVENUE Models presented an awesome show featuring the designs of GizzA.

The set was made in an awesome way where the audience was actually sitting ‘in the middle of the runway’. That means the runway was going through between the seats. It was a very active show with a lot of movement, that I quite enjoyed as it was something different then just the one way out and back runways.

The designs were a great mixture of casual, city chic and formal. On the 3 pics you can see the amazing outfits I was allowed to wear. At this point I have to thank Nala Kurka who did this cool pictures of me during the show 🙂
