“Fragility”

Today I do have the great pleasure to showcase you the work of an artist, that I do admire already for a long time for his photography. I am talking about Sir Skye Nefekalum. His artwork is just breathtaking and his visions and creativity seem to have no end. Recently he started to create extraordinary tattoos and face paint and – as you can imagine –  I am already addicted. He releases them so fast – nearly one per day – that I have a hard time keeping up, as I do want to create images that maybe can satisfy his incredible style and artwork. I am not yet such a picture pro and I try to learn new things lately. That means it takes me even longer to really be satisfied with what I am trying to archieve, as I do not want to dissapoint Sir Skye for his amazing work.

Anyways, today I have the honor to show you two of the very first designs of Nefekalum Tattoos. The body tattoo is called “Fragility” and he face paint is named “Seer”. “Fragility” is a tintable tattoo (except for Maitreya, as their body doesn’t feature any coloring in the tattoo layers). It comes as an Omega applier, which allows you to use it with any Omega compatible body. I just tried it on my Belleza Freya body and it just works perfect. I tried many different colors and shades until my choice fell to blue. I always had an addiction to blue and white for what ever reason :p

The awesome “Seer” facial art as well comes as an Omega applier and you can play a little with the blending options until you have your perfect look. What I do love the most is that all of his tattoos – the ones I already got – work for male and female and gives the avatar a very special and extraordinary look. all of them do have a very crisp and clean look, which for me is a sign of high quality work. I do have many others that are slightly blurry or do have weird seams, but not the Nefekalum Tattoos.

While I was working on the pictures I had to do a teaser picture for an upcoming hunt gift and I could not resist to again use both of those amazing tattoos in a different color as it just worked so perfect with our gloves *blushes* But that shows how versatile the “Fragility” tattoo is with different colors. As you can see I have a different, more darker blending for the face paint on this picture, so you can see the different possibilities as well for the face art.

I am really curious with what Sir Skye will come up next, while I will try to prepare the next showcase of his amazing work!

And again I am back with a pair of fabulous [Gos] heels!

The “Emma Strap Pumps” were originally released for UBER, but I am sure you will find them at the [Gos] main store by now 😉 I am a huge [Gos] fan for along time. I love the details, the realistic looks, the textures and as well the unique ideas they have. Even for simple pumps, they will find a way to make them look like [Gos] specific pumps. The “Emma Strap Pumps” are a perfect example.

The pumps do have some cool straps added to them. Those straps can be colored in the same way as the shoes, or you can mix and match the colors of the shoes and the straps. For the strap you have 3 different possibilities as well. You can choose between a plain strap or between black and white highlights for each color. As usual you have 3 different HUDs available, The Boutique HUD, the Blueberry HUD and the Metallic HUD. Each of them have amazing colors, 4 metal options and different variations for the lining and the sole. The leather has such a phenomenal shine, while the straps are little bit more matte and it feels like they would be made of a cotton fabric kinda.

The awesome dress comes from Salt & Pepper. Usually I am not a huge fan of knitted dresses, but the “Alexa” dress is a cool combination of a knitted dress with leather seams and those cute leather sleeves that come out underneath the knitted ones and reach down over the wrists. The dress certainly again has a HUD and you can mix and match the colors of the knitted part and the leather parts. The high turtle neck as well looks like a leather fabric and changes the color together with the sleeves and the leather. The leggings are – believe it or not – an applier! I do have 2 different leggings from lassitude & ennui and both of them look so realistic that I could not believe on the first view that they were just appliers. The folds and wrinkles look so much more than just like a texture… simply awesome. I was at their main store a while ago but sadly I only could find those 2 leggings. If they would have had more I guess I would have bought them all 😉

Last but not least I would like to draw your attention to the 2 new releases of this post. The awesome “No.Commission” hair style from no.match and the incredible “Claw XXL” nails from FORMANAILS.

The “No.Commission” hair you will find at the actual round of Tres Chic. I love short hair and that one cold become on of my general favorites. The bangs are very straight and sharp down the forehead while you have one ear free – the whole style is very tight to the head. I have an addiction for non symmetric styles, I already said that a few times. To me the hair style looks very modern and seeing the actual hair trends of RL, it fits right into the actual hair fashion trends!

The new “Claws XXL” from FORMANAILS are very versatile and I guess I have to do another post just for them to show all of them. You have the possibility to play with the length of the claws as well as you can show some gems, which I hided for todays look as it looked too much for a simple casual style. They are extremely long if you use the full length like I did today, but with that, they are very unique and even if I would have trouble using my cell phone, they are fun to wear 😉

I wish I could fly business class like it looks with the “Flight Club – Day Travel” photo booth from Foxcity. So much room for the legs and the seats look so comfortable – not to compare with the last flight I had RL when I was going to London 😉

God I enjoy Halloween and the dark season way too much 😉

Today I started watching the 8th season of TWD – go figure where the inspiration of todays post came from…

Ok it wasn’t only TWD, it was the uber cool gacha from Salt & Pepper in cooperation with another one from Mina Hair as well. Salt & Pepper does some exciting interactive gachas for a while now. To me she did something completely new with those “changing” gachas. I guess it started with the wet clothing options, where you could go into linden water and had all of a sudden wet clothing, that dried again after some time when you were outside of water again. As well you certainly had the option of a drying towel as well if you wanted it quicker. That already was a great idea for roleplay scenarios. The paint ball game was an other one, that even had a HUD where you could fight with other residents , who owned the same set and HUD. That are only a few of her interactives… there are way more!

The one I would like to showcase today, is my personal favorite so far. The “Zombie” (Gacha Key) and the “Beatriz Zombie Hair” (Gacha Key) gachas were created for the special pop up round of the Arcade in October. Besides the interactive clothing and hair in both gachas you will find two different vents and fire-hydrants, that let you transform by walking by and a transformation HUD where you just can do the change by click.

To make my Zombie complete, I had to add 2 more creepy, scary things*grins*  The first one are the “Zombie” nails from FORMANAILS. When first saw them I was like “Are you kidding me?!?!??” I thought something like this would not exist but then.. who else than Ivi Bing should have done them 😉 She is the one to be reckoned with, if it comes to extraordinary nail and hand designs. Nevertheless those nails are more than perfect for my Zombie look. They make me seriously look like being a Zombie for quite a while with my nails being damaged and ripped… just so kick ass cool 😉

The second thing is that super scary facetattoo from CURELESS [+]. Actually I mixed a facetattoo and one of their eye makeup to make it even more creepy. The “XXX” face art and the “XXX” eye makeup made the perfect match to achieve the look I was looking for. CURELESS [+] always was one of my favorite stores for dark and scary things, the more I go there and shop the more I find things I want to use and due the fact of their designs, I see even more dark posts coming 😉 I guess it was always inside of me and I just did hide it behind too much casual posts and ‘political correct’ do’s and don’ts 😉 Maybe i should follow my dark and creepy mid a little bit more now and then 😉

The only thing left was, to exchange my normal teeth with the LeLutka “Beast Teeth” and cover them in blood with their HUD. To me that worked beter with the bloody heart that looked so delicious :p

I found a new sim lately – my heart jumped higher when I found out it is a dark and scary place that will last the whole time and not just for Halloween! I am talking about Pendle Hill, another amazing creation of Lauren Bentham. She did a lot of amazing places already like Arranmore, Everywinter, the Baja sims and many more, but this one probably is my personal favorite. She used lots of DRD buildings and the environment is perfect for all creepy, spooky and darkness lovers!

Talking about creepy, spooky and scary places, I have to run to find more before Halloween is over and I can’t just do creepy things without having to explain it :p

And again it was Madonna, the Queen of Pop herself, that inspired me for today’s pictures. I again saw the Confessions Tour Opener on youtube and I so wanted to capture that mood, colors and theme. It looked so cool with her and all the dancers dressed as ponies, her way to move and control them… just awesome.

I digged deep in my inventory and it was quite time consuming to find all the parts I wanted. I did not just want to have a fetish looking pony girl, I really wanted to capture that special mood of the video. I did not want to have a typical pony tail or one one of the ‘usual’ pony boots…

I was so happy when I discovered one of the amazing !dM gachas called “PonyPlay”. I picked the latex looking tail and as well the shiny latex boots with the hooves at the bottom. Those were exactly the base for what I was looking for. The cool outfit with the back-bound arms I found in my inventory in my Ghoul’s folder. It is an older outfit but for today’s post it was exactly what I wanted. The “Bondage Harness” was perfect, but since I am not a friend of having all the private parts completely exposed, I decided to add some cool latex pasties from CURELESS [+].

The poses and the right backdrop were quite a challenge too… I needed a certain light, several light sources and as well something that is not too crowded or busy. I tried with a plain black backdrop first and added some lights and projectors but it did not yet feel right. Then I remembered a background from Foxcity and some cool editorial poses from the same creator. With the neon lights it was perfect and while I played with some windlights I realized that this would be the perfect choice.

Madonna always was/is a great source of inspiration for me anyways if I was thinking about fashion or music. I am sure that will not be my last post that she inspired me too 😉

Pink Therapy!

Pink always was and is a challenge to me. Some of you might remember times, when I tried to act like I had a pink allergy and even had a special skin with pimples and spots. Or if I got pink outfits for shows, I always predicted I had to have my medicine and pills with me to not get those allergy symptoms again. It was fun times and for what ever reason even nowadays people approach me about that allergy 😉

That even more encourages me sometimes, to try something in pink as it can be a very strong color and not just a Barbie girl tone.

First I wanted to do a picture where I sit on an object, because I wanted to showcase the shoes as well as the dress, the hair and the jewelry. I realized, if I just have a simple standing pose, most of the time the shoes get lost in the whole picture as they turn out way to tiny compared to the the rest of the picture. But I did not just want a little close up on the blog either and no hint for my flickr picture.

Everything what I tried to sit on – that did not seem boring and strong enough as well as matching my mood – did not work out. After some time I really got frustrated and had to step away from the whole thing. I logged out and went to the couch, to continue reading my book. After a couple of hours, I took a look at the watch and it was not yet that late. I thought I should give it another try and see if now the muse would be genuine enough to come back and maybe even kiss me again.

First I did throw the idea away to pose sitting on something and reduced the set drastically to some lights and effects from E.V.E Studio. I still was I a certain mood, which I wanted to express via the pictures as well. Something pensive, lightly fragile and with – here I have to credit Ephemeral Skye, since he was so kind to listen to my frustration and had kind words, which helped to go back to the whole project – “a hint of defiance in her as well”. It made me speechless that he tried to see “behind” the picture and saw what I tried to aim for. He is an incredible artist, which I adore personally for his creativity and ideas and if someone with that outrageous skills gives you such kind words… that is really motivating I have to admit and I am really grateful about that.

If you have a very minimal background, poses and angles count even more to have an interesting picture in the end. I love to jump into my Poseidon poses folder when I try to have a strong mood or attitude in mind. I have no idea how Gryphon Vendetta does it, but he ALWAYS hits the nail on the head when he makes his poses. They are so strong and expressive, even if they have an ’emo’ feeling to them. You can play with the angles amazingly with Poseidon poses as there is always more than one view that works. With the right crops you can even use extreme poses or flying poses without having their initial purpose shown.

Before I now go back to my inventory and look, what I could use for my next look, I would like take a closer look at the shoes, even if they are shown in the picture at the beginning. I so often feel that shoes are underestimated and as well way too often taken for granted.

The new “Charlie Platform Sandals” are available at the actual round of Fameshed (like the amazing dress that I am wearing for todays post as well). The perfect spring season heels come as usual for Maitreya, Slink and Belleza feet and have the amazing 3 new HUDs that [Gos] includes for all their new releases. The Boutique HUD for the amazing [Gos] colors we all know,  as well the Metallic and the Blueberry HUD with matching colors for your Blueberry clothing.

Afterall I have to admit… pink isn’t that bad 😉

The Darkness Inside

I did think a long time about a title for this post and pictures and after a conversation with a dear, sweet friend today, I suddenly had the idea – “The dark beast inside of me sometimes needs some release”

We all know that feeling I guess. You often just try to be polite and kind even if you feel that the inner beast tries to break free. In my life I learned that his beast has two different sides. It is very emotional and hot-headed on one side and sometimes it can be very dark ironic and sarcastic on the other. That is why I learned to control it and keep it locked in chains inside of me.

Certainly I was told to not always swallow all my emotions and everything that I get told, but the same time there is way how you can express this in a polite and adult way.

The most difficult it gets when you feel hurt. Because then this beast inside just rambles and rattles with the chains, developing immense power so that I sometimes really be afraid it would break that chains and just break free.

But exactly those situations taught me the most. When I was able to still keep it inside, it felt as a success to not let it win over me just because of someones judgement, rumors, gossips or words.

Every time I was able to keep it locked away, I felt that I did grow stronger. It was a long process and it took me years and sadly it is still not perfectly locked. But maybe it does not have to be, because everything has an end as well and so does patience, understanding and politeness. Sometimes people really need to know when they overstepped a line or did hurt me even if they will not believe nor change their behaviour – most of the time because they can’t as they have nothing in their life than trying to make others miserable. Then you do not even need to argue with those, because you can’t win. Anyways what you will say to prove them wrong they will turn it around and again use it against you no matter what. So all you can do is let it go, turn around and move on.

If you move on, you will meet new people in the future who will treat you with more respect and in an adult way. Certainly not only those, but all the others will wait for you left and right as well and maybe it is the personal challenge of everyone’s life to pass those who do not matter to meet those who DO matter – if that makes any sense. That does not mean you should not take any critiques, but you can learn to decide between the good and the bad critique. The bad, that only was used to hurt, blame or accuse you without any content OR the one that sometimes hurts too a bit – because you might have seen it different – but that as well contains facts and things that let you learn and grow from.

In the end you are the one, that has to make the decisions in your life – nobody can do or should do that for – as long as you can.

For me it feels better to have a mainly positive life (all of us have bad days or experiences) instead of a hate filled, jealous and not satisfied one. I always ask myself – before I react on things – if it would be worth fighting or arguing about something, or just smile and say thank you, turn around and move on. Both cases did happen and both will happen in the future, but if I argue or discuss I try to stay with the facts, be polite and kind and as well stay adult and not just release the inner beast without thinking. If that happens, I exactly would do that, what I do not want be done to myself – hurt, accuse or become personal and unobjective – and that is not an option to me if I can control it. I have to admit, over the years I became way more calm in such situations and maybe it is the age that lets you think before you take any action 😉

Fame with Roses & Chains

I have no clue how I came on the idea for this pictures… but it was fun :p

I know I saw that roses at Skye’s place when we did a shooting and remembered I got those too. When I saw them again, I so wanted to do something with them and when I unpacked a few boxes I found the perfect dress and all of a sudden everything fell together 😉

But lets start from the beginning…

This time it was not an outfit that started the whole idea, it really was a set I was playing around with. I started with the “DYSTOPIA Chained Roses” from E.V.E Studio. I found so many parts in the folders… different roses with chains, standalone petals and as well several colors… I decided to go with the bronze ones as I loved the red touch paired with either a golden or a black chain. While I was playing around with arranging the roses I came across the “Splashing Droplets” in gold, which just matched the “Chained Roses” perfectly.

 When I unpacked the “FAME” dress from [sys]which you can find at the actual round of The Liaison Collaborative and saw the chains at the high cut on the left side… I did know that was the right dress for that picture 😉

The dress is a very simple one BUT with great asymmetric details. The left arm is covered by a long sleeve while the right arm is totally bare. The left side has a high slit which is decorated with many rows of chains.

Another great detail I would love to focus as well. The amazing rings and hand bands from Formanails. Formanails does the most incredible hand jewelry and nails I ever saw. Most of the designs are made for either Maitreya or Slink Casual or Slink Formal hands.

Overall the whole scenery with the looks and the set looked weird and cool the same time to me so I just had fun to take some pics and see what comes out 😉 It was a new feeling to me, to style according to a set instead of the other way round *giggles*. It was a great experience and as well some kind of a new challenge for me, maybe I should do that more often 😉

I was allowed to walk along with the Scala Grad Students!

Last weekend I had the great pleasure to walk the Graduation Show of the last Scala Academy batch, side by side with the grad students! It was so much fun and I kinda missed my good old student days 😉

Since I got some of the students to know during the last batch of the academy, I did know I really have to watch my stylings, since we really had some very promising stylists! That does not mean I would not watch my stylings usually too but it is a very different feeling to walk along with the models that you taught about styling and other things before.

Plus, I know how obsessed Seashell is with poses and since we all had to be checked by her too… that was quite a challenge 😉

The sponsor for this graduation show was Shey. A wonderful brand with so many different styles. All of us got 3 outfits, which we had to style for the show.

Mine was all very different and so I tried to do justice to each of them 🙂

 My first assigned run was the “Aukje” outfit. The outfit comes as a complete outfit including top, skirt, belt and pants. When I put it on it immediately screamed “rock!” to me. The short skirt with that open vest seriously needs to be styled urban and kick ass for me 😉 So I wanted to have a cool necklace but nothing elegant and sophisticated, more something loose and cool looking. I decided to go with the “Legendary” necklace from Mandala. The huge necklace made me kinda skip on the earrings but I did not wanna go with bare ears either. Solution: The special mesh ears from Mandala with the piercings and tunnels on it!

I am addicted to tattoos and I know many do not really like them on the runway. I had requested permission to do so for that very particular style since it kinda screamed for a tattoo 😉

The tattoo is from my favourite tattoo maker, Julie Hastings, owner and designer of [White~Widow]. The super cool makeup is a combination of Nuuna’s And Zibska, that I added over each other.

It still looked as if it would miss something and I started to experiment with my hair. I tried a lot of different hair and none would satisfy me for the look as I came across the idea of a hat. The extravagant “Dali” hat from [sys]. The hat has an open back, which allows you to have hair that goes a little higher that usually for hats.

My second outfit was more classy chic and when I tried it the first time, I did know I had to put my personal twist on it 😉

The “Mira” outfit comes with a blouse and skirt. The top is a kinda overlapping style and with its asymmetric shape and the high open front it has a definitely sexy touch.

The skirt with its asymmetric shape and the amazing ornamented belt gave room for a little bit of crazy ness and I decided to try the “Gorgo Metal Helm” That looked so weird that it already was kinda cool again :p So I decided to keep it. Since I have so much going on, on my head, I have to keep the jewelry to a minimum for my personal taste. So I just added the “Sinra” Earrings from Mandala and the “Axiom” bracelet made by [sys].

My 3rd and last outfit looked to me very elegant when I tried it on the first time.

The “Sonia Prestige Gown” as well is an asymmetric gown. The left leg is long down to the ground while the right one ends short under the hips at the right upper leg. The top only is held by a filigree chain round the neck.

I wanted to keep that elegant touch and though about something what could work as well as accessory and for jewelry since the little chain round the neck does not let any room for a necklace. All of  a sudden the “Butterfly Neobaroque” head-piece from Swallow came to my mind. For the shoulders I chose a mixture off 2 different Finesmith sets, or better parts of them 😉

For the earrings I just put some little and simple pearl earrings as I wanted to wear the “Celeste” face chain to complement the chain around my neck.

The show was a blast and I was very happy to be allowed to walk with our grads. Great looks, a great set and a cool bunch of amazing, skilled and upcoming stylists and models 🙂 Thank you Scala, thank you Seashell and Kryptonia!
