Vintage Fair – My little journey through past times…

Vintage Fair – I really do love vintage styles and fashion and this fair really went right into my heart. The sim is amazingly done and all the designers did such a wonderful job on different centuries and styles. There is nearly nothing you will not find there. From really old times over 20s, 30s, 40s up to the 80s .. all time periods are represented.

For this post I decided to go with one of my favourite designs from a wonderful talented and amazing lady. Salt, owner and designer of Salt & Pepper, is an incredible designer. you can see that on all of her work. She puts so much love in her designs and she has a real great eye for details and textures. When I saw her “Yvette” harness, which she released as an exclusive at the Vintage Fair.

Usually if you hear the word ‘harness’ you immediately think about black leather straps and silver rings… but the “Yvette” harness from Salt & Pepper is so far from that! It is an amazing little harness with lots of decorations and very filigree as well. The thin leather straps are just holding the decorations in place it seems 😉 At the waist you have an amazing belt looking part, which is decorated with pearls. With the HUD you are able to change the leather color as well as the metal colors! The amazing pasties are part of the whole outfit and as well work with the HUD to customize everything to your personal likings 😉

For the hair I as well chose a new release I found at the Vintage Fair. The “Denisa” hair style was a wonderful addition to underline the vintage feeling of the “Yvette” harness. With the typical pin-up style it was just looking right for what I was looking for. The amazing huge pearl earrings are made by Elysium and the jewelry I just mixed and matched of different parts of AvaWay, Lybra and Elysium. To me pearls are always a must somehow for early vintage looks ;), plus there were this amazing pearls on the outfit already so I just had to 🙂 .

For the shoes it HAD to be peep toes 😉 I chose the “Zinnia” heels from Glamistry, as with the huge HUD possibilities it was super to match them to the outfit and with the great detailed work of Glamistry you really can do nothing wrong anyways which kind of style you are doing!

The whole scenery I did built of striped mocha items. The sweet little birdcages are as well a Vintage Fair exclusive and with the hanging lotuses and that amazing bed it just made the most amazing scenery for my pictures. For the poses I went through various poses and picked out from all kind of pose designers like DARE, Body Talking or Corpus and even more I do not even remember 😉 But I had a great time with my little journey through past times and hope you enjoy this post as well 🙂

Play the Trumpet?

Today I am very happy to showcase another amazing design of Faster Pussycat, one of my favourite designers and a great friend of mine as well.

This time it will be the “Trumpet Jacket & Pants”

I always loved the designs of Faster Pussycat, as they are so amazing out of the box. Honey Bender, owner and Designer for Faster Pussycat, together with PoosyKat LittleBoots do both have a very special taste for fabrics and color, which I love a lot.

This time it is a neat combination of blue and gold with some amazing patterns on the pants and parts of the jacket. The texture and the shape or the jacket remind me of a past time uniform type – or those 19th century music corps style – and together with the modern pants hold by a simple rope that is put through huge framed holes, it makes a great contrast.

The neat accessories come from LeEnfant Terrible. She has such an amazing quality on her items and they are all so detailed that they were the perfect addition on the amazing detailed “Trumpet” outfit.

since the outfit had a more masculine feeling to it, I again wanted to go with a contrast on the hair style. I chose the “Jaily” style from EMO-tions. With the puffy curls and the loosely wisps, together with the amazing rose attachment it looked perfect for the idea I wanted to go for. The rose attachment brought me on the “Shippoa” choker from Mandala for the necklace.

For the makeup I again did a mix and match of Nuuna’s makeups… yes I am totally addicted to her bold make up ideas. To Nuuna’s always is kind of charter makeup, that can set strong statements to a certain look. With the busy and detailed outfit, I wanted to do more editorial looking pictures to not miss the details on the styling. I more and more love to experiment with editorial shoots and new angles that are not looking that common, so this picture session really was fun 😉

LOTD 06/13/2016 – Dandy Chic with Asteria, EMO-tions, Tracei & Glamistry

Today I have an extraordinary outfit to showcase… The new “Willow” outfit from Asteria.

What caught my eyes was the wonderful asymmetric look of the whole outfit.

The outfit contains The shorts, the bustier and the amazing shirt. The bustier and the shorts are not just simple, black basics. The are designed in a very seductive way with all the straps and ‘holes’ that show a lot of skin. The cool shirt is buttoned in the front and lays smart on one shoulder only.

To accessorize the outfit I chose to go with the amazing “Xanthe Set” from Tracei together with his amazing “Ira White Ring”, both in white.

This amazing jewelry is such a chameleon! It works for so many different styles and looks and as well can turn the basic looks into something totally different.

I wanted to add some more chic to my look and the “Xanthe Set” was just perfect for that. with the shite gemstones and the delicate and sophisticated golden metals, it was the perfect addition to the look. The “Ira Ring” was the exact little piece that I was missing for my today’s look. It perfectly matched the “Xanthe Set” with the white color and the filigree golden metal decorations.

For the hair, I was thinking a lot what I would like to wear. First I tried a few more elegant looking styles – some updos –  but, it just did not look right… So I tried to think a totally different direction. I asked my best friend google – in such moments it really feels like a rescue :p – about some things and all of a sudden there popped up some female dandy looking styles and the idea of a hat was born!

And as if it would have been fate, I just got the amazing “Kiki” hair from EMO-tions. The hair looks similar to the “Kristen” hairstyle, which I loved so much lately, but with that amazing hat on top… just genius and so perfect for what I was looking for.

Now with the new idea for the look, I needed some shoes that support that new twist on the outfit 😉

I looked through my shoes and immediately got stuck with the “Edelweiss heels” from Glamistry. With their casual and at the same time elegant looking attire they totally were what I was looking for. The great HUD did let me choose the perfect colors to match the “Willow” outfit perfectly. The laces added a perfect casual tad and the elegant hells pulled it right back on the chic side.

Now I just had to find an idea for the scenery, to make the pictures. First I tried several sky boxes but all looked too busy and so I decided to go with something very simplistic. I just put out the “Black Cube Pouf” from 22769 and parts of a skybox from CD Homes for the wall decoration. Sometimes less is more I was taught 😉

LOTD 05/23/2016 – Spring Flower

Yes, me trying some pastel!

I know it is not that often, that I am wearing pink or even worse… pastel pink! But sometimes I am just in such a mood.

This time it was the “Georgia Corset” from Byrne that got me started on todays look.

Last week I had the pleasure to help hosting one of the fashion week shows of PENUMBRA and it turned out to be a show where Byrne showcased their amazing designs.

So certainly I wanted to wear something from Byrne and after trying different creations my choice fell on the “Georgia Corset”

The corset comes in  the 5 standard sizes. Mixing and matching meshes can be a pain in the ass so I put on a long time favourite of mine, the “Brit Pants” from LeeZu. They are layer clothing but  sometimes I really do still like that especially if the textures are so amazingly detailed and high quality.

The super cool shoes are made by Glamistry. The heels instantly caught my heart when i saw them and they reminded me somehow about the logo of ‘The devil wears Prada’. I have an addiction for such little details that you usually just see on the second view 😉

With the amazing huge HUD and all the color options I could easily match them to one of the colors in the corset.

Certainly this whole look called for a non usual hair color, which I found with the “Sophia” hair from EMO-tions. I LOVE short hairstyles and I was so happy, when I saw this super chic and cute hair style with the amazing flower on the right side of the head.

The colorful and pastel based look with the light pink hair called for a very subtile and light makeup for me and so I chose the “Lennie” eyeshadow, the “Vio No.1” lashes and the amazing “Winterberries” lipstick, all made by Zibska.

I just had to find a stunning spring looking place. That I found at “Devils Point”. An amazing little island, with the feeling of a nature loving british isle. So many amazing details and corners, not only great for pictures. Exploring is a lot of fun there as well as you will find so many little places and corners with different decoration and feelings… just wonderful!

LOTD 05/22/2016 – Landscape, Scenery or Editorial?

Sometimes it is a hard decision how you want your photo to look like.

This time I was pondering a lot between an editorial look, or just find a matching landscape or if I wanna build a scenery on my platform.

I started with roaming around sims to find an ice location first when Anderian IMed me and we talked about editorial shots. I told her I am looking for something modern hippy looking when she suggested to just try google for 70s editorial fashion shots.

And there my vision of a landscape did go… now I wanted to do an editorial one :p

Enough of story telling about sceneries, let’s get the view on the clothing 😉

The amazing “Happy Stroll in the Rain” jeans from Whimsical Imaginarium are the base of my todays styling. I got those amazing pants from Bodza, while we were talking and I fell immediately in love with them. I have a heart for wide flaired bell bottom pants in RL as well… I am not a 70s person, I was born in the 70s so the basic late 70s trends did pass me by while being a little child. Even if I remember some of those being in my wardrobe.. especially those weird wide dresses that started to get wide under the chest…

Now you gonna say ‘Oh yeah there is millions of those pants on the grid’ but well.. those catched my eyes because of the amazing texture and as well with the idea of having one lower leg colored different. To cover the color break on the knee, Bodza put some delicate lace and as well to repeat the colors ( yes I am a friend of no standalone colors… :p ) one oft the back pockets has the same color.

The amazing textured top is made by Asia Rae and it was a perfect addition to the amazing jeans – style and colorwise 😉 The “Demy Crop Top” comes with a color HUD so you can customize the top to your needs colorwise.

For the jewelry I decided to go for a mix and match of 2 different Kungler sets and an amazing necklace from Charm. The cool glasses that did underline the modern 70s look I got from agapee. They are kinda funny to use, as they come with a HUD that lets you move the glasses up to your head with an animation and as well you have 3 options for the glasses to fold the front side up.

For the hair I decided to go with a new style from Truth, which was released on the actual round of the Enchantment event.  The hair is very versatile too as you get different options for the forehead part and several sizes for all kind of chest sizes.

The best shoes to go for todays look were wedges (Grand I can hear you on that one and believe me, usually I am not a friend of wedges myself, but that look simply called for them!)

The “Oksana Leather Heels” from [MODA] actually did not look that bad and with their huge HUD – all of their shoes have that huge HUD – it was quite easy to match them in color to the rest of the look 🙂

Since I wanted something clean and editorial looking, as well as something with sit poses – which are so underestimated in so many blogs – I tried my luck on the “Lovers Crate Seat” from Shutter Field. The poses in that little cube are quite awesome, they just did not go too well with my outfit, so I just tried random poses out of my inventory to make it work. I realized very fast that having long legs and being a little bit above the average in terms of height, makes sitting a huge challenge :p . But with some minor graphic surgery even that worked out quite well. Since I am not that great skilled in working with editing programs, I can promise it really only was minor fixing 😉

So in the end, it was the editorial version for today, but like I said to Tempe lately when we talked – and she agreed with me – … every style, every look, can call for something special. I neither wanna miss the fun roaming around on sims to find amazing locations, nor I would like to just have self-built sceneries or only white screened pictures for my blog. It is a lot about moods, feelings and emotions, that make me decide what the end result will be 😉
