Wicca’s Originals @ Vintage Fairย  // June 12th – 22nd

The latest in fashion from Wicca’s Originals is the Wyatt waistcoat and pants. This unisex, double-breasted waistcoat sports a somewhat subtle but eye-catching diamond pattern of shiny sequins to flatter the smooth fabric. The cut of the waistcoat as well as the metallic flair on the collar makes this a great fit for any steampunk wardrobe, and the low neck and sleeveless design gives plenty of options to accessorize. The pants are sporting a double-fastened leather belt, as well as a series of several matching straps at the thigh and lower leg, binding the fabric tight to the leg to avoid snags as well as providing a few convenient places to strap tools. A deep pocket is available with spur style fasteners to keep personal effects, or possibly to serve as a place to hold screws, bolts, washers and nuts. Especially handy if you need to maintain any body parts or machines on the go! Comes in left or right-legged styles, and is designed to combine very well with the Eagleden leg augmentation (pictured, not included). Nine color palettes are available to choose from to match your styling needs. The Wyatt Outfit and Pants are made for Maitreya Lara, Slink Hourglass, Belleza Freya and Signature Gianni!

Tonight is the Night!

As promised… one more Vintage Fair post, even if Vintage Fair ends today. But while you have a last chance today to go shopping, I am sure you will find all the great creations and designs at the main store of all brands soon.

Today the main inspiration was the idea to prepare for a first date back in the good old days ๐Ÿ™‚ The amazing gown from Salt & Pepper and the incredible jewelry from Tres Beau made me do a classy and elegantย  post! Not happening that often, but with that awesome designs, I could not resist ๐Ÿ˜‰

As I mentioned in my last post, I really do love The Vintage Fair – I do have to admit I do have a weakness for vintage looks, even if usually show my dark side mostly. Most of my addiction comes from the music of that times. Music was/is always very close connected with fashion at all times and sometimes musicians even were style icons. The Beatles, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, Edith Piaff, ABBA, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Grace Jones, Marlene Dietrich, Ray Charles, Paul Anka anyways what name I would drop, I am sure you could easily recall how they have looked ๐Ÿ™‚ Being a musician in RL myself, I always looked about the development of music – maybe thats why I like some of the vintage styles, when I do like the music that belongs to that certain time.

Let’s go back to the actual purpose of my post today. It was really fun to use some poses I never had used before, but they made total sense in this picture series. It started wit the cool “Eau De Parfum’ Prop Set” from WetCat, where my idea was born to kinda go through a whole series of how you prepare before you go on a date :)you make your way into your room, sit down and think about what you would to look like and then you start doing your make up and perfuming ๐Ÿ™‚

I have to go back to the 2 amazing designs, that are center of my today’s style and post idea. The “Evelyn” dress from Salt & Pepper certainly comes with a texture HUD to change the color of fabrics and metals. andย  is rigged for Slink Hourglass, Belleza Freya and Maitreya Lara. The way how Salt created and formed her fabric is just awesome as it does make it look so realistic. The shape of the dress already screams vintage all over but the colors really underline that too. The outfit usually comes with a matching head-wrap too, but I wanted to use the amazing hat made by Tres Beau for this post.

The delicate veil and the amazing feathers as well as the “Betty” jewelry really caught my heart. I adore Kimmera Madison for years, not only because she is my sister, but as well for her incredible awesome skills of designing and texturing. Kimmera was the first who released the first Wedding Gown in SL, her brand Tres Beau is one of the oldest fashion brands in SL. When she started back in 2004, ther was not even an idea about flexies, scupties or even mesh… she started the hard way with pure system layers painted on the avatar itself and made her way through all the changes Second Life made about designing. You rarely find designers, that are still around and in business after such a long time and all the changes! To me that is something I highly respect – we all saw how many designers left Second Life, when mesh was invented.

Even if this post and style is something non usual for me, I do enjoy it immensely. Maybe you noticed, that I do not wear my regular “face” for this post. I decided since Wicca is not really an elegant person, that I would like to try the “Cate” head from LeLutka. Cate looked very young to me on the vendor, but after fooling around with skins, I was able to give her a ‘grand dame look’.

Taxi: Vintage Fair

Getting older not always has to be a bad thing ;)

I found something very special at the Vintage Fair and this time for the first time, the pictures took me nearly a week, as all I tried did not work out like I wanted it to be.

What I am talking about is the amazing skin from POEMA & AG. They released some amazing aged skins for the Vintage Fair. Since I do love my LeLutka head, I had 3 different skins to try – “Paloma”, “Eva” and “Sarah”. When I tried them, I felt immediately that those are made with phenomenal skills of designing, but as well with a great knowledge of human aging. When I tried the skins I immediately got a feeling, that they are 3 different stages of age. “Paloma” looked the “youngest” and “Sarah” the oldest. When I tried “Eva” I nearly fainted as for what ever reason it looked like an older version of Wicca without changing anything to my shape – even a perfect no-eyebrow version! The first thought was… that will be my skin for the time, when I will retire modeling *snickers*

I saw aged skins before and I never liked them as they looked kinda overdone, comic like or just awful, but the POEMA skins are really well thought and developed and have the most realism to that kind of ages that you can get in my personal view – That made me want to blog about them.

I have to admit, I used my usual “Pores & Blemishes” face ‘pimp’ applier, since the skin felt so ‘Wicca’ to me that I really could see myself in it. But since that only add freckles and some little folds on the forehead, I did not feel that it would ‘destroy’ or change the skin too much, especially because I put it to 50% transparency for this post.

Skins are something, that people are very picky about because it is part of the personality that you would like to show to others and that you have to feel comfortable with yourself. Who likes to look into a face every time time after login, that you do not like… ?

There are many different skins in Second Life and as well many different likings, that people have for their skins. Still you can find weird and awful skins that have no depth, structure or any kind of human traits to them even if they are meant to be human. There you can see that some designers spent hours, days and weeks to develop a skin and some just use free, basic templates – that are meant to be worked on – and just do them in different light and dark shades… no a black skin is not just a white skin pulled down to black with a slider in PS or any other graphic software. Every skin type has a certain ethic type , that it is based on and only then you can develop a character in my view. I am not a skin designer and I would never dare to make skins, as I never looked deeper into what it needs to do skins, but I am a user that tried various skins.. good and bad ones so I developed my very own sense for skins that I do like. I like it when pores and skin structure can be seen, I like it when you see wrinkles and non perfect spots in face or body as a realistic skin is rarely without any errors and usually never symmetric. All those little details make them real and ‘alive’ for me.

The “Evy” Skin from POEMA &AG, has all those things for me. The wrinkles that age the skin are not too blunt, they are very subtle but they are perfect to create a wonderful realistic look. You can see what you loved on your grandmas face if you take a close look onto the face and even the body skin was made in a way that shows that this is not a young woman. Since I am not a huge fan of naked shots and I felt a grandma should not wear a bikini, you have to take a look at yourself, but I can promise you you won’t be disappointed ๐Ÿ˜‰

That was the next issue… I wanted to have a grandma look not only for the face, but as well it should be in the theme of this years Vintage Fair. The sim is Asian, vintage themed like for example Shanghai in it’s 1920s – I guess the last was the one that it was … but since I am always so confused… do not nail me down on that one ๐Ÿ˜‰ You should go and see for yourself, how amazing those 2 sims are decorated!

The dress as well you can find at the vintage Fair, if you make your way to Senzafine. To the long, tight dress was perfect for my classy, elegant and sophisticated idea for my granny. The textures are amazingly crafted and with the nigh neck but the little cut out at the chest I was able to even wear a necklace, which I found as well at the fair. So many amazing items, designs and creations are to find there until the 24th, so make sure to not miss it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was looking all over SL to find something Asian tea house looking – until I realized I had a wonderful “Tea Ceremony” from 22769 – DOH… sometimes it really helps to look into your inventory before you spend hours teleporting through SL. I did set up the lovely tea house and all it’s parts on our photo parcel right beside the Wicca’s Wardrobe main store.

You will not only find clothing and accessories at the Vintage Fair, but as well amazing decorations and furniture from all kind of different epochs and continents. For example the great room divider and the beautiful pictures on the back wall were made for the fair as well by paper.crowns.

Satisfied now with my look for that amazing skin and as well for the background and set I really had fun doing those pictures… maybe even too much as I did not even take off the skin for a few more days enjoying being called Grandma for that time ๐Ÿ˜‰

Retro Feelings!

It MUST be the Vintage Fair, that always puts me in some weird retro and vintage moods ๐Ÿ˜‰

Vintage Fair is one of my ‘must go’ every year.

First of all the event owners always do an incredible job with their sim building and second… all those creations of all kind of past time epochs! It was a hard choice to decide what to wear for aย  post first…

When I put on the dress from Kyoto Couture, which I found at the Vintage Fair – choice was made :p I do have an addiction for 70s and 80s things … maybe it is because of my age… and that pattern on the dress sold me. Retro is trendy again anyways!

First I had an Austin Powers moment but I did not really find all the part to do what I had in mind and so I changed my vision more towards a retro moment feeling between records and a real record player. All over 30 years will remember those huge vinyl records, that made that special noise when you listened to the music… sometimes I really miss it and pull out my old record player – yes I still have one out of nostalgic feelings – and listen to some old ABBA songs.

Certainly even a retro style has to have my own twist and so I decided to wear the some legstraps from Sakide and the awesome “Electra Cyber Gloves” from A&Y Cybernetics. I know I already blogged them before, but that even more shows how versatile they are!

Talking about Vintage Fair goodies… as well from the Vintage Fair are the incredible booties, the hairstyle, the glasses, the earrings and the cool makeup from Zibska! It is really fun if you set yourself a challenge and see that you put together a look from a certain event only (more or less) – That brought cool looks out for me actually and even some I maybe would not have done without that ๐Ÿ˜‰

I do not wanna talk to much today, as I do have some more amazing Vintage Fair styles to snap… I hope you enjoyed my retro mood as much as I did ๐Ÿ˜‰

Time to relax… now!

Today my post might be different as most of my other ones. I had a year full or work and joy, a year of stress and the most fun I ever could imagine.

About a year ago, in May 2016, an idea was growing inside my head. After seeing a wonderful musical, done by kids and adults of an amateur dramatic society not too far from my home, an old dream of mine came up again.

I always wanted to do a musical with mainly kids from a school I am working at. Until that time I never had the right people around me, or I was not allowed to do such a huge project as it would interrupt and interfere the normal school schedule too much and so many other reasons, which I do not even remember.

But this time it should be different.

I spoke to a very close friend of mine, that as well works at the same school and with me. She was at that musical I was talking about before as well and when I joked about, if we could not pull off something like that as well, she only answered “Why not?”. I told her about my weakness of organizing things and my strength of creativity, music and passion for musicals. She is like a soul mate for me or even the sister I never had, so I was totally honest about my fears. She only did listen and did not say a word until I was done talking and I already was scared that she would tell me I am crazy – Which would be no news :p

I was staring at her to wait for her reaction. She looked at me and said “If you are taking the responsibility for everything that has to do with music and dance and all the sound engineering stuffs, I can help organizing stuffs, help with reversals and costumes and as well I can do all the calculation with you”. I must have stared at her with an open mouth and she started to joke about it and asked me, if I did really listen to what she said.

I was speechless as I never would have expected such an amazing reaction. So all that was left – before proposing the idea to our school principal – was to find a musical, that could be done by kids and teens but as well would attract teens and adults as audience. We have kids from the age of 10 up to 18, so it should be something that catches all of them, plus it had to be something with cool costumes and many possibilities of accessories and styles. It took me about 4 weeks to find something that was affordable, would allow changes by me and as well sounded cool enough for the kids.

I found a muscial version of Dracula twisted for kids and young adults with a lot of humor and still the basic Dracula story in it. It was called “Dracula – the ultimate Grusical”. When I told my friend about it, she was all up for it immediately and already saw certain costumes and styles behind her inner eyes. Now the most difficult part was coming up… I had to propose the idea to our boss. He is a passionate musician himself, but as well he leads a school and so I was not sure what he would say about our idea.

His first question was, if I would be sure about all the work and effort and I told him, that I was part of a school musical 3 times before myself and that I am not exactly sure how much work it would be, but that I would know it would not be easy and as well a lot of unpaid extra hours, but the same time, that it would be a life time dream of mine and that I am not scared by a huge work load.

He said he would not have anything against the idea but all the other teachers would have a say as well, as some rehearsals would maybe go through some usual school times. When I entered the teachers room a few days later, I had really wonky knees as those folks who usually work with me, now would have the decision about my dream. Their reactions were amazing and they all told me I would have full support and even had ideas how we could connect the musical project with regular lessons and classes like making accessories and all the stage buildings in arts and have some parts of the text to work in the German language lessons. I was totally overwhelmed and more than happy.

After some mailing work with the publishing house of the musical, I got the text, the music, the songs and everything that we needed – by then it was July 2016, shortly before the long summer holidays. The holidays gave me enough time to adjust text and music according to some requests of our principal and as well to the roles for the kids. When school started again in September 2016 I was done with all this and as well had made a first choice of who would play certain roles. Now I just needed to ask the kids if they would agree and as well I needed my friends help for some more role assignments.

To make along story short, some kids did not like the idea and bailed out even 2 month after we started rehearsing and each of them nearly gave me a breakdown and I saw the whole project die more than once, but we always found a solution andย  asked a few former pupils to take part as well. It was a very rough and exhausting year but I do not regret one second. It was a great time to know the kids way more than during a ‘norma’ school year and they all worked super hard. In May 2017, we got another shock 6 weeks before the premiere… Our Dr Van Helsing got a cruciate ligament rupture while playing beach volleyball and I again saw the whole project going down. But again there was an angel, who offered to help and a 16 years old guy stepped up and took over that major role.

14th of July 2017 – Premiere!

I have no idea how we made it and time seemed to fly in the last 3 weeks but we made it to rock the first show of 4 with a sold out house of 200 people in the audience. we are a small school and only have round about 120 kids and having a sold out premiere was more than I ever expected. The kids were super nervous, none of them had done such a huge project before. The musical is about 2 hours long and we added a little break of 30 min between the 1st and the 2nd act. 2,5 hours of high concentration, lots of text and singing. In the end we had about 70 kids involved with acting, speaking, singing on stage, a choir and the school band. All had costumes and makeups and we had amazing help from a few parents who helped with all that behind the scenes during the shows. During the break we had Dracula themed snacks, cakes, sweets and drinks, sold by the association, thatย supports all kind of our school activities.. it was so amazing really.

Now after the 4th and last show… I only can look back and I am so grateful for all the help and support we got. The kids grew on that project in an unbelievable way and already asked when we would do something like that again.

I probably do not have the power and strength to do something like this right again, but I did not say “Never” either ๐Ÿ˜‰ We will see what the future brings ๐Ÿ˜‰

Maybe now some of you do understand, why I was not blogging as much as I used to in the past months, or why I was not online that much in the past weeks… but that project really took a lot of me – not only time wise – but I do not regret even one second! But now it is time to RELAX – at least for a bit ๐Ÿ˜‰

Pink and Cute???

Me and pastel colors… usually not the best match :p

But for today… I have no clue why… I wasย  in exactly that mood ๐Ÿ˜‰

The cool background maybe was the initial fact that lead me towards the sweet colors. The amazing “Aloha” dress, which is available at the actual round of The Liaison Collaborative, supported that idea of a summer, sweet colors post with a light vintage touch :p

First I did not even plan on a vintage touch, but when I found the “Betty Babes Glasses” from Manik Queen, I could not resist to tweak my style towards a cute vintage one.. yes… I said.. CUTE!

The glasses have so many color options and as well are sold in 2 different styles. Blank, white dots and black dots – there is no style you cannot make them fit ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now I would like to take a closer look at my hands. The fantastic rings are made by MEVA. I saw many Maitreya bento fitted rings lately but rarely some that rea so cool and detailed and as well more casual looking, so you can wear them as everyday accessory. With all the curves and decorations they are really a little art piece and outstanding from all the ones I saw before.

The rings are not just mirrored for left and right hand you actually have 2 totally different designs for each hand. you can wear the rings single for each finger or you can just use the full set at once… all options are included in the pack. As if that would not be already enough.. you as well can decide, if you would like the rings in silver or gold ๐Ÿ™‚ MEVA released so many more amazing rings – I soon have to make a special about it but I so wanted to showcase the first set today ๐Ÿ˜‰

Speaking of MEVA… did you realize those cool piercings at my collarbone and my cleavage^^? Mea Carnell, owner and designer of MEVA, made those for the actual round of Cosmo. They are a wonderful little styling accessories, that just give the little extra-ordinary look ๐Ÿ˜‰

The wonderful nail polish again was made by Nailed It!, one of my favourite nail polish places. O loved the little opened zipper which gives the idea of very exclusive french nails ๐Ÿ˜‰

The amazing lipstick certainly comes from Zibska, while the absolute stunning eyeshadow was made by Slackgirl ๐Ÿ˜‰

And now I will use my short ‘cutsie’ time for a little bot of window shopping before the dark side again takes over *giggles*

Vintage Fair – My little journey through past times…

Vintage Fair – I really do love vintage styles and fashion and this fair really went right into my heart. The sim is amazingly done and all the designers did such a wonderful job on different centuries and styles. There is nearly nothing you will not find there. From really old times over 20s, 30s, 40s up to the 80s .. all time periods are represented.

For this post I decided to go with one of my favourite designs from a wonderful talented and amazing lady. Salt, owner and designer of Salt & Pepper, is an incredible designer. you can see that on all of her work. She puts so much love in her designs and she has a real great eye for details and textures. When I saw her “Yvette” harness, which she released as an exclusive at the Vintage Fair.

Usually if you hear the word ‘harness’ you immediately think about black leather straps and silver rings… but the “Yvette” harness from Salt & Pepper is so far from that! It is an amazing little harness with lots of decorations and very filigree as well. The thin leather straps are just holding the decorations in place it seems ๐Ÿ˜‰ At the waist you have an amazing belt looking part, which is decorated with pearls. With the HUD you are able to change the leather color as well as the metal colors! The amazing pasties are part of the whole outfit and as well work with the HUD to customize everything to your personal likings ๐Ÿ˜‰

For the hair I as well chose a new release I found at the Vintage Fair. The “Denisa” hair style was a wonderful addition to underline the vintage feeling of the “Yvette” harness. With the typical pin-up style it was just looking right for what I was looking for. The amazing huge pearl earrings are made by Elysium and the jewelry I just mixed and matched of different parts of AvaWay, Lybra and Elysium. To me pearls are always a must somehow for early vintage looks ;), plus there were this amazing pearls on the outfit already so I just had to ๐Ÿ™‚ .

For the shoes it HAD to be peep toes ๐Ÿ˜‰ I chose the “Zinnia” heels from Glamistry, as with the huge HUD possibilities it was super to match them to the outfit and with the great detailed work of Glamistry you really can do nothing wrong anyways which kind of style you are doing!

The whole scenery I did built of striped mocha items. The sweet little birdcages are as well a Vintage Fair exclusive and with the hanging lotuses and that amazing bed it just made the most amazing scenery for my pictures. For the poses I went through various poses and picked out from all kind of pose designers like DARE, Body Talking or Corpus and even more I do not even remember ๐Ÿ˜‰ But I had a great time with my little journey through past times and hope you enjoy this post as well ๐Ÿ™‚
