Steampunk with Dead Dollz & EMO-tions

Steampunk 01

Steampunk is one of my favourite fashion categories. I love the mechanical ideas, the colors and as well the Victorian touch of most of the styles and designs. Not everything might be steampunk looking first hand but with the right accessories some might be able to transform into it πŸ˜‰

Today I took the fantastic “Octavia” ensemble, wich Dead Dollz released for the Fantasy Collective. The amazing outfit contains skirt, corset and the shoulderpart. The wonderful skirt has amazing ruffles in the back and the tight underbust corset has amazing fabrics and textures. The “Octavia” dress is available in 3 different colors and I chose the brown one for todays post.

To cover the chest I took one of my favourite bras, the “Bettie Bad Girl Bra” from Faster Pussycat.with the golden outlines it went so perfectly with the “Octavia” dress.

For the hair i took one of the newer releases from EMO-tions, called “Tanja”- Tanja is a sweet updo with some smart wisps and a longer front, perfect for the steam punk look πŸ˜‰

To even more point out on the steam punk character of the look I decided to choose my accessories from Pixel Box. The incredible”Steampunk Multi Monocle” together with the “Steampunk Clock” set wich contains a necklace, earrings and the ring – the earrings I did not use for this post – was the perfect addition.

The”Bird Skull” hair accessory, made by LoQ is one of my favourite hair pieces πŸ˜‰ and so I could not resist to add it today again as it looked so sweet together with the book, it gave a little science touch, which I really loved. Such things kinda happen when you just fool around with your headpiece folder to find something that matches your look :p .

Playing with Projectors and Lighs – Part I

TFC Fantasy 01

A few days ago, I joined a class about blogging as I wanted to know if I can learn something new, as I am always looking for new thing I can discover and raise my horizon.

The class was amazing and at some point we came to the part of the pictures and how to take them and wich kind of pictures are for what situation. Usually you have more clean pics for blogging and castings and some more artistic pictures for a storytelling blog post or magazines.

We were talking about many of the very popular photographers in SL and as well about the difference of photographer and artists.

While a photographer usually just takes pics and does them tweak a little bit in one of the graphic programs, the artist takes a snapshot and you will not see the original snap anymore after the artist did the magic with the picture in his program by painting and editing a lot by hand. I would never go so far, to say one has less work or more work than the other, the amount of work might be the same, just it is in 2 totally different ways. While the artist has to be very familiar with his editing s program, his graphic tablet and his skills to paint and illustrate, the photographer needs to be familiar with the SL windlights, shadows, special angles and lights and maybe even with projectors or lighting tools. Both is a lot of work, I believe and it needs a lot of practice just it complete different ways.

TFC Fantasy 02

I saw for a longer time , that many photographers work with a tool called lumipro. I remember great pics done with this special light tool and I always wanted one to try but, since it is not cheap and I work in so many different areas, I never got one.

But then… lately I was talking to a very long friend of mine a lot and helped her here and there if she wanted my opinion, as friends do usually. Out of the blue one day when I logged in I got a gift…

The crazy girl did know, that I was after the lumipro for quite some time and guess what… She gifted me a lumipro!!! I stormed her IMs telling her she would be crazy to make such expensive gifts and I was totally happy and crazy about. She was just calm, smiles and told me that would be her way to show me how much she appreciated my help. I told her, that I did not do that for any kind of gift, more just because of our friendship and that I never expected anything for that, but she insisted on that this would be her way and I better accept it.

OMG I have a lumipro!

The rest of the evening was just gone, with all the work I wanted to do and I totally lost myself in my new toy. I have to admit I have still no clue how it works properly and I will need to watch a lot of tutorials and ask around to really get used to this fantastic tool but I am more than willing to try!

For today I just played around with the presets and changed them lightly, to see what possibilities and features it has.

TFC Fantasy 03

God this is a weapon if you know what you are doing with it!!!

I just placed myself in front of a white wall with my war turtle from [Swagga] and turned my windlight settings to midnight to see the full range of the light balls.

I was blown away what those 3 balls can do and I digged further into the user manual on the lumipro website to see what all those buttons of the HUD can do.

Then I found the projectors… holy cow! Now I know how some light settings were made on pictures that I loved so much!

The way to project lights behind you with different textures as filters, was something I totally had forgotten about since I started to play with windlights.

I do not know much at all yet to really use this fantastic photography tool properly, but I know that I will spend a lot of time in the future to be able to operate this HUD and bein able to use all its functions and features as this really is a lot of fun to play around with and that is the reason why I named this post ‘Part I’, because I am really sure about that this will not be the last post about my playing with lights and projectors πŸ˜‰

But for now I have to finish as there is a lot of work left wich got delayed because of my new lumipro :p

Creme & Brown Tones with Wicca’s Wardrobe

Versus Magazine - ACCESORIES SECTION

This picture was originally made for the actual issue of the VERSUS Magazine (http://issuu.com/versus.sl.magazine/docs/versus_aw_2014).

But I loved that picture so much that Í wanted to make a short post to it πŸ˜‰

The main focus for the picture was on the accessories. With the actual autumn season I discovered my love for brown and creme tones. I started with the scenery and placed one of my favourite cupboards from LeeZu, the “Mellow Sideboard”. To match it I chose a carpet from Atelier Visconti from the “Vincent Set”.

The base was made now for some styling which I could lay on the carpet with πŸ˜‰

First I remembered a jewelry set, wich I bought at Collabor88 a few ago from Mandala. The “Kyara” set had the perfect colors to start with for a picture centered around accessories in an autumn look πŸ˜‰

The long necklace fell perfect over my “Captured Top”, one of my latest releases at Wicca’s Wardrobe. For the bag I remembered a huge brown/cremem colored bag with letters on it from PurpleMoon… but I did not remember the name… So I was jumping into my bag folder and tried out all the bags I have from PurpleMoon until I found the “Monogram Bag” again, that I was looking for!

While I was looking through my piercings (yes I love piercings!) I found a short necklace from Kosh that went very well even with the long necklace and my top lines that go around the neck.

To match the piercings in my face I wanted to add some cool hand jewelry and nails. The “Punk” set from Formanails was exactly what I was looking for. Some piercings at the hand, cool rings and awesome sharp nails – just awesome together. To not forget the time while shopping, I decided to put the “Asia” watch and bracelet by GizzA

The “Autumn Jeans” made to fit the “Captured Top” have a nice gradient from a dark to light brown and that again makes a very nice line to add the “Locked Heels” for Slink high feet, which you as well can find at the Wicca’s Wardrobe Mainstore now.

To keep the swag look, I wanted to add some hair with a cap and even if has some years on it’s back the “Irene” hair from Baiastice finished the style in a way I wanted it πŸ˜‰

Ready for a nice window shopping trip to find more amazing items to showcase in my next blog posts πŸ™‚

Hunger Games Tribute by Wicca’s Wardrobe

WW - Johanna 01

β€œHope, it is the only thing stronger than fear. A little hope is effective, a lot of hope is dangerous.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

And again I am back with another of my creations for the Hunger Games Tribute event ran by Opium Evolution.

Today I would like to showcase my “Johanna” dress. This dress is made with the idea of Capitol Couture.

The dress is basically a short dress with a long train in the back. The shoulders are free and a huge collar lays round the neck. To connect the dress and the collar I placed one of the popular mockingjaw brooches at the left side of the chest. The dress itself has a basic black texture and the golden brocade corset sets a wonderful accent to the black and gives the whole ensemble a sophisticated touch. To bring back the gold, the long train was overlayed with a golden gitter net looking gaze. The huge black and gold headpiece as well is part of the outfit and comes in a rigged and an unrigged version.

To complete the look I added one armlet in black and one bracelet in gold.

At the moment you can see all my new releases for the Hunger Games Tribute even – female AND male – at the shopping area of the Hunger Games Tribute event sim (http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/PAPAS/175/158/22)

Wicca & Saz Corset Vendor

Today I am very excited to announce that I finally released my short series of corsets with matching jeans and bolderos πŸ™‚ . It is a short collection of 6 different patterns and fabrics that iI was working on for quiet some time now. In RL I am addicted to corsets so it was a long time dream to make some in SL as well that would be kinda the style I could like to wear. Usually if you hear corsets many have only the fetish vision or a medieval look in their mind, but corsets can be so much more and they can be part of every day wear as well.

Corsets,Jeans & Vendor for Blog 001

A corset is a garment worn to hold and shape the torso into a desired shape for aesthetic or medical purposes (either for the duration of wearing this item, or with a more lasting effect). Both men and women are known to wear corsets, though women are more common wearers.

In recent years, the term “corset” has also been borrowed by the fashion industry to refer to tops which, to varying degrees, mimic the look of traditional corsets without actually acting as one. While these modern corsets and corset tops often feature lacing or boning and generally mimic a historical style of corsets, they have very little if any effect on the shape of the wearer’s body. Genuine corsets are usually made by a corsetmaker and should be fitted to the individual wearer. (Wikipedia)

In the fashion industry corsets became again more and more popular as sexy and modern accessories. And so I am happy to present my short mini corset collection in my store now πŸ˜‰

I packed some full outfits but as well I offer all the corsets, jeans and bolero single, so that you can mix and match them how ever you like πŸ˜‰ .

The pants have a special metal button that gets repeated at the bolero as well. On the first view the boleros are all black but if you take a closer look, each of that 6 different black jackets have a different pattern or feature round the zipper on the arms to match the jeans and corset they belong to. Certainly you can cross mix them as well.

The corsets all have a different texture and a certain style. Anyways if back laced or front laced or with straps and buckles, all of them come in the 5 standard sizes and are mesh made, same as the jeans and the boleros.

I hope you come over and take a look or try the demos and find one you like for your wardrobe πŸ™‚ .

On my Way to a Mad Hatter Party with my new hat from Natzuka

Natzuka Hat +N1CO 001

Lately I talked to Natzuka and after some time we came across her store. She usually sells poses and makeups. She made some outfits in the past as well but she told me as well she found her way into nice and cute accessories now too. She showed me her new “Moka Hat” and I totally fell in love.

The cute purple and pink toned hat really comes with such amazing little details that make it an art piece itself. The little cup, the amazing sweets and flowers… you nearly get the imagination you just have to grab it and taste it πŸ˜‰ The soft feathers that fall down on your face add a lightly elegant touch to that overall playfully and funky looking hat.

Natzuka Hat +N1CO 003

What else it needs for a cool Mad Hatter party outfit? A cool and crazy look that goes with that amazing “Moka Hat”.

I decided to go with one of the latest releases from N1CO, the “Zoe” pants. Thos freaking cool mesh hotpants, are really something I love. With the cool leather stripes and all the spikes and studds I so screamed Wicca to me and it was exact the right pants to make a cool contrast to the beautiful and playful hat. The pants are fully customizable with a HUD. This HUD lets you change every part of the pants and as well recolor the studds and spikes to what ever you need.

The collar as well comes from N1CO. The “Queens Collar” comes in a golden and copper looking tone with amazing feather attachments. Made in mesh as well it goes amazing with every move and pose you do and it is the perfect accessory for an outstanding look.

The very elegant boots are out of the “Golden Thread” collection. This collection was the latest addition to the Black Label of Miamai. This overknee boots carry an awesome black and white sequins looking texture. The feet itself are kinda black leather looking so it looks like the black and white fabric overlaps the black leather shoe parts.

Ready for the Mad Hatter Party!

Wicca’s Weird Wardrobe: Fear of the dark

Dark Angel 001

I am a girl who walks alone
And when I’m walking a dark road
At night or strolling through the park

Dark Angel 002

Have you ever been alone at night
Thought you heard footsteps behind
And turned around and no one’s there?
And as you quicken up your pace
You find it hard to look again
Because you’re sure there’s
Someone there

When I’m walking a dark road
I am a girl who walks alone

Dark Angel 003

When I was styling the today’s look, I was listening to one of my favourite bands called Van Canto. I will attach the song that I liked most during my styling session at the end of this post πŸ˜‰ With this music on my ears I could not resist to just let it flow and see what comes out πŸ˜‰

I strted with the amazing “Emi Corset” from N1CO. The corset with the spiked bra are mesh made and coming in different sizes, I am sure you will find one to match your shape ;). As so often for N1CO, the “Emi Corset” comes with a HUD that gives you a hell of a lot of possibilities to customize the colors and textures. You can color the spikes, the corset straps and lines, the buckles and as well the corset itself with different patterns.

The pants i took from the “Tribute to Kattaca” outfit from [AD] Creations. The full outfit is amazing as well and I will make sure to show case it as soon as possible as well, but the pants just were the right addition for my today’s look. Since the pants are quite ‘open’ I added the “Glitter Pants” from LeeZu to cover my private parts πŸ˜‰ .

The amazing “Saxa” mesh boots from SeVered GarDeN, caught my attention. The boots are mesh made but with 2 parts. The leg part and the foot part so you even could add another pair of shoes if you would like to.

Now i would like you to take a closer look at the bracelets and the necklace. Not too long ago I was asked if I would like to blog a – for me –Β  new brand. I never heard about Enfant Terrible before and I am really surprised how that could happen. Enfant Terrible is the store for all those people who wanna be a little extra ordinary. LesEnfant Terrible, owner and designer of Enfant Terrible, has the special taste and feeling for the non usual and out of the box designing. All she creates has her special twist and tweak what makes all of her creations so unique. The “Chloes” set wich comes with bracelet and collier shows her amazing skills when it comes to texturing and creating. The set is HUD driven and you can exchange the gems and totally match any styling you working on. The filigree “Chloe” collier shows with how much love and time LesEnfant Terrible designs her creations.

Many of you know how addicted I am to little details and accessories. So it was clear for a kinda demon style I cannot just leave my face blank and casual with just some makeup :p .

The amazing “Scara” version of the “Morbida” from SIlken Moon made the right basic for an amazing dark and demon looking face. With the wonderful drawn face parts the “Morbida Scara” totally meets my likings. In the package as well you will find another version wich is just grey. I rarely saw a grey skin with so much details and great made body parts. The “Blackness Face Chain” from Soedara I carry around for quite some time and I never saw it fit to something until today πŸ˜‰ . The chains look very realistic and with the little red gem at the forehead it was the perfect addition. The cool and scary “Damage – Spiked Eye 001” was part of the Halloween collection fo Finesmith for this year. I just loved the look and the 2 little spiders that seem to crawl up the chain that falls down the cheek.

The hair was a new release of EMO-tions for the last weekend. The “Skip a Beat” hair was made as a tribute to Skip Staheli and it can be worn unisex and in different styles. For the fatpack the hair can be color changed with the new HUD that Mirja Mills started to use for all of her latest releases.

Natzuka Full

Lately I was talking to Natzuka Milandrovic, a very close friend of mine and we came across the new ‘trend’ of combining fetish elements to high fashion, couture and avantgarde. If I remember back, when I started modeling in SL it was not even to think about and nowadays more and more designer and agencies try to do that. After a while she told me about a casting, that as well requested stylings with fetish parts and she showed me the outfit she made by herself for this casting. I totally fell in love with and after I told her that she was so kind and gave it to me with some poses that are made for this cool outfit.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLG5OoB78vU&w=560&h=315]

As I saw the name of the outfit and the poses I had to grin and immediately I had the song “Paranoid” from Back Sabbath (linked above) stuck in my mind. So as I was styling the outfit, I listened to it most of the time and maybe that’s why the styling became a bit… crazy.

Natzuka Half

The outfit is named “Paranoid” and so is the pose set as well πŸ˜‰ Nat founded a brand for all her different creations called Flighty Pixels. For this brand she did not set herself any boarders so I definately will keep my eyes on what she will create πŸ˜‰

The “Paranoid” outfit contains a corset, the panty stripe some lace at the chest and the huge cool head-piece. I only added soe socks, the “Gothic Platforms” from L&B and the “Elle” hair from Zibska. The amazing arm tattoos are made by Talyia Tarber for her new brand The Makeup Artist. The amazing spades that cover the nipples, the front chest and the left eye are part of the “Spades” makeup and tattoo layers from Nuuna’s.

Natzuka Poses

With this interesting and cool outfit from Flighty Pixels Creative and the poses by Flighty Pixel Poses, Nat built a great base for her new brand. She already made quite a few poses besides the “Paranoid” set and I am really curious with what she will come up next πŸ˜‰

My personal favourites of MVW2013 – National Costume of Miss Poland 2013 by Vero Modero & Chop Zuey

MVW - Miss Poland National Full

Miss Virtual World 2013 – Again BoSL showcased an amazing event on December the 15th 2013, with the finale of the MVW 2013 contest. Many countries were represented by amazing ladies and it was really an exciting event. Designers and models worked together for their 2 final looks. One evening gown and one national costume for each lady. Every year when I saw the MVW finale it was an exciting moment to see the results, that designers and models worked on for so many weeks. Last year I took the challenge to make a full catalogue of all the gowns and costumes. The idea must have inspired some bloggers this year and they started to do that for the MVW 2013 designs. I decided for my own not to do the same again and just would like to showcase my personal favourites. First I thought about to do my personal top 12, but then I figured that I like more than 12 and just thought about doing all the ones that really caught my attention in no particular order :)

The wonderful “Audrey Cresci Gown” was made by Bouquet Babii, owner and designer of Vero Modero. The dress is stunning in its simplicity. The combination of a mesh corset with a ruffled down end and the flexible skirt with the open front add a very playful and as well sexy touch to the whole look. The wonderful red and green ornaments that decorate the skirt and the chest part of the corset show perfectly that sometimes less is more πŸ™‚

Audrey Cresci:

“My National Costume designed by talented designer Bouquet Babii. We were inspired by the costumes of Poland’s famous Polka dancers and modernized the look. We have applied the interrogate embroidery of Polish folkloric handcrafters.
Flower ornaments are the most characteristic expression of Polish art and architecture. As well it takes role in many Polish traditions. Thats why I used flower figure as the main element of my gown and Jewelery.
In Poland more than a thousand years ago single girls wore wreaths of flowers on their heads. They throw to fire their wreathsΒ  on the eve of St. John June 22 with the St. John’s fires as an offering to the gods to find their love of life.”

MVW - Miss Poland National Close

The stunning jewelry was made by Belle Roussel, genius owner and designer of Chop Zuey. As far as I remember the MVW 2013 finale, Belle was the most busy jewelry designer for this years Miss Virtual World contest. The “Pompeii” set made a wonderful addition to the polish look. With the filigree metal parts and the little gems it went perfectly with the amazing ornaments of the dress. You can choose between a set with red gems or black gems πŸ™‚

The “Audrey Cresci Gown” you can buy at the Vero Modero Mainstore and the “Espresso in Pompeii” set you will find at the Chop Zuey Mainstore.

Etchaflech & Voluptia featured in the Maniera Magazine

ManieraModels_CorsetFeature_LovelyMiwako7399 Menna_December12_Lineup_v3

For the actual Maniera Magazine December 2012 (http://manierasl.mymaniera.com/) I had the great honor to be featured in a wonderful fashion spread of Lovely Miwako. She made a special corset themed article about how different corsets can look.

We all got sent different corsets from Etchaflesh and Voluptia and Lovely asked us to style them in a vintage non typical lingerie manner. As well she wanted us all to choose one tattoo that we wear through the whole spread.

ManieraModels_CorsetFeature_LovelyMiwako7399 Menna_December12_02

For the first picture Lovely placed me on the floor besides SterlingZen. The corset I was wearing for this picture came from Voluptia and everyone that knows me… I am a corset addicted even in RL, so to style the corset in a non lingerie way for me was like if you tell me I just won in a lottery *grins*

I love a lot the different vontage stylings from the 50’s to the 80’s ( it still scares me that 80’s are called vintage now too^^) and so I was going for my favourite urban look as well with the heavy boots and the tattoos and some fishnet stockings and torned stockings. The huge glasses and the pinup hair added the perfect finish for the look in my view.

ManieraModels_CorsetFeature_LovelyMiwako7399 Menna_December12_05

On this picture, I had the great pleaure to be with Katherine Comet a wonderful and classy Lady that shines at my side with a wonderful corset styling that reminded me a lot on the old racing pinups I saw so many times on that collectable retro/vintage, metal signs from coke or even others… not sure how they are called in english, mostly you find them in bars πŸ™‚

For the second look I was given the corset and the sneaker boots from Etchaflech. I added the neck corset as well from Etchaflesh, pantys and garterbelt from Maitreya.

Lovely did an amazing job in putting different ladies, diffrent looks and attitudes together to show a wide range of what corsets can do… weither of elgant, grunge, rocker, lingerie, vintage or burlesque… as different as we ladies are as different corsets can be used for anykind of styling, that you can think of πŸ™‚
