Dark Victorian Princess for VERSUS Magazine

Read the VERSUS Magazine HERE

When Shena assigned me the trend for the current issue of the VERSUS magazine I was super happy. She said my trend would be ‘Dark Victorian Princess – but in an up-to-date look’ and she totally hit my heart with that πŸ™‚

I always had an addiction to dark stylings… black always will be my favourite color πŸ˜‰

The victorian princess merged into a more modern looking way was something quit interesting and as well challenging. My first step led me again to Google and I looked for Neo Baroque and New Baroque looks as well as for modern Victorian stylings.

Look 2

I never tried to copy looks I found… more to find my own way of the styles I saw. When I look for a certain style, I try to find as many looks as possible to get the essence of the looks. To me styling a certain trend, theme or category does not mean to copy an existing look of a picture I found. I saw that so many times for challenges, contests or castings – People just open Google and get one of the first 10 pictures they see and try to find exactly that look in SecondLife. To me that is NOT really ‘styling’, it is just copying an existing look without any personal traits or edges, even if it can be a challenge to find all those items :p .

Look 3

Copying looks to me never was fun and thank god I did not have to do that too often. But styling an assigned trend or style is the most fun challenge I can imagine, when I can try to put my own twist to something, but still cover a certain look. When you can bring something alive, that tells a general story about a look but as well a story about yourself… I do not know if that makes any sense but it is what I feel when I do those kind of stylings.

Thank you Shena, that I was again allowed to be part of your amazing VERSUS magazine. I always love the assignments you are giving to me, because you always think about, what would be fun for me or what would suit me. It is always an honor and pleasure to work with you and for you <3

I was allowed to walk along with the Scala Grad Students!

Shey Casual 01

Last weekend I had the great pleasure to walk the Graduation Show of the last Scala Academy batch, side by side with the grad students! It was so much fun and I kinda missed my good old student days πŸ˜‰

Since I got some of the students to know during the last batch of the academy, I did know I really have to watch my stylings, since we really had some very promising stylists! That does not mean I would not watch my stylings usually too but it is a very different feeling to walk along with the models that you taught about styling and other things before.

Plus, I know how obsessed Seashell is with poses and since we all had to be checked by her too… that was quite a challenge πŸ˜‰

Shey Casual 02

The sponsor for this graduation show was Shey. A wonderful brand with so many different styles. All of us got 3 outfits, which we had to style for the show.

Mine was all very different and so I tried to do justice to each of them πŸ™‚

Β My first assigned run was the “Aukje” outfit. The outfit comes as a complete outfit including top, skirt, belt and pants. When I put it on it immediately screamed “rock!” to me. The short skirt with that open vest seriously needs to be styled urban and kick ass for me πŸ˜‰ So I wanted to have a cool necklace but nothing elegant and sophisticated, more something loose and cool looking. I decided to go with the “Legendary” necklace from Mandala. The huge necklace made me kinda skip on the earrings but I did not wanna go with bare ears either. Solution: The special mesh ears from Mandala with the piercings and tunnels on it!

I am addicted to tattoos and I know many do not really like them on the runway. I had requested permission to do so for that very particular style since it kinda screamed for a tattoo πŸ˜‰

The tattoo is from my favourite tattoo maker, Julie Hastings, owner and designer of [White~Widow]. The super cool makeup is a combination of Nuuna’s And Zibska, that I added over each other.

It still looked as if it would miss something and I started to experiment with my hair. I tried a lot of different hair and none would satisfy me for the look as I came across the idea of a hat. The extravagant “Dali” hat from [sys]. The hat has an open back, which allows you to have hair that goes a little higher that usually for hats.

Shey Casual 03

My second outfit was more classy chic and when I tried it the first time, I did know I had to put my personal twist on it πŸ˜‰

Β Shey Funky 01

The “Mira” outfit comes with a blouse and skirt. The top is a kinda overlapping style and with its asymmetric shape and the high open front it has a definitely sexy touch.

Shey Funky 02

The skirt with its asymmetric shape and the amazing ornamented belt gave room for a little bit of crazy ness and I decided to try the “Gorgo Metal Helm” That looked so weird that it already was kinda cool again :p So I decided to keep it. Since I have so much going on, on my head, I have to keep the jewelry to a minimum for my personal taste. So I just added the “Sinra” Earrings from Mandala and the “Axiom” bracelet made by [sys].

Shey Funky 03

My 3rd and last outfit looked to me very elegant when I tried it on the first time.

Shey Formal 01

The “Sonia Prestige Gown” as well is an asymmetric gown. The left leg is long down to the ground while the right one ends short under the hips at the right upper leg. The top only is held by a filigree chain round the neck.

I wanted to keep that elegant touch and though about something what could work as well as accessory and for jewelry since the little chain round the neck does not let any room for a necklace. All ofΒ  a sudden the “Butterfly Neobaroque” head-piece from Swallow came to my mind. For the shoulders I chose a mixture off 2 different Finesmith sets, or better parts of them πŸ˜‰

For the earrings I just put some little and simple pearl earrings as I wanted to wear the “Celeste” face chain to complement the chain around my neck.

The show was a blast and I was very happy to be allowed to walk with our grads. Great looks, a great set and a cool bunch of amazing, skilled and upcoming stylists and models πŸ™‚ Thank you Scala, thank you Seashell and Kryptonia!

Gabriel @ Shiny Shabby

Gabriel 2

Today I am very happy to showcase one of the latest releases fo Gabriel for the Shiny Shabby event.

The sweet “Maria Denim Dress” made by Sora Tatham for Gabriel. The dress is a beautiful and casual looking dress with a lot of details. It kinda look like the dress would be two layers. The denim top layer with the open button at the top and two open buttons at the bottom, wich add a light sexy touch to the amazing dress. The white layer underneath has an awesome padded fabric and makes this dress to something very trendy and certainly an eye catcher. For the Shiny Shabby event the denim top layer has some sweet flower printed on it, while you can find a star print version at the Gabriel main store as well.

Gabriel 1

As well part of the dress is the awesome “Maria Necklace” wich matches the dress perfectly to a casual and leger look. To complete the look, I added the “Cassidy Heels” from Cashmere, wich sadly is not longer around. The amazing hand bag comes from 22769 and was one of their past gachas.

The super cool “Lou Glam Glasses” are made by Miamai and add the perfect coolness factor to the whole look. The perfect hair for today’s style I found at EMO-tions. The “Carrie” hair style. This hair has a wonderful back as well. A loosely updo with some nice chop sticks as accessories.

Spring/Summer 2015 – Color Themed

wicca1FIN

Recently we were asked for the new Eclipse Magazine to style according to the Pantone Fashion Color Report 2015.

“This season there is a move toward the cooler and softer side of the color spectrum. An eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals take center stage as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times.”

This description I found, when I searched for the trend colors of the actual season, because we had to choose 2 colors.

I decided for Glacier Grey and Toasted Almond to make my 2 styles and got chosen to be part of the magazine with them.

The first picture is my interpretation of the Glacier Grey color.

The basic for the style was an older dress of GizzA, the “Gloria Dress”, but it just was sp perfect for what I wanted to go for. Since I am rarely a friend of bare legs, I added the pants layer of the “Brigitte Body Tights” from Leezu.

I wanted the whole look more towards fashion than usual casual. I decided to go with the “Mia Madoona Chloe” hat from Miamai. The cool mask added some mystic, which I anyways love πŸ˜‰

For the second style used something I made myself for Wicca’s Wardrobe. I fell in love with the colors Toasted Almond and sand. Both are part of the Spring /Summer 2015 colors as well.

The “Violetta Top” and the “Yves Pants”, both in Toasted Almond. Both with a very trend print and perfect for the actual season. To complete the styling, I chose to go with hair from enVOGUE as the “Clarissa” style in my view underlined the fresh spring look perfectly. To complete the look I added the “Lydia” booties in Toasted Almond as well.

I would like to give a big thank you to Tempest Rosca, who made this amazing pictures for the Eclipse magazine, giving me such a wonderful sunny and spring look πŸ™‚

Top Fetish for VERSUS Magazine

Miamai+WW+sys 02

For the current issue of VERSUS Magazine, I was asked to style the theme Top Fetish.

I was thinking quite some time about, what I should do and what was requested and I asked like ever so often google for some more input… πŸ˜‰

I did not wanna go only fetish or only the top centered I kinda wanted to make a full look because in the end, for me it mostly looks better if I plan on a full look even if I only have to showcase a certain piece of it. Usually the full look ends up as a post on my blog then like today, after the magazine got published :).

The first picture is the one that I chose to send in for the magazine, because of the theme top fetish.

Miamai+WW+sys 01

Certainly I do not wanna hide the rest of the look πŸ˜‰

After I decided to go with one of the tops I made my self for Wicca’s Wardrobe, the “Xena Top [Autumn Edition]” I tried to make a full look out of it. The top has a huge texture change HUD wich lets you customize all parts of the top in different colors. I chose black for the basic color and put some red accents at the chest and the metals in gold to match the amazing “Gorgo Metal Helm” from Miamai. For the jewelry I chose on of my personal favourites from [sys] called “Axiom”. With the huge necklace and bracelets it was the best addition to the look in my view. For the bottom I wanted something that does not drag too much attention away from the top but as well nothing that makes the whole look boring. I took the skirt out of the “Arachne” outfit, wich I made for last year Halloween. The basic black texture with the shimmering fabric together with the silver metals and the little holes, were exactly what I wanted to go with the leather of the “Xena” top.

Up next was again one of the hardest choices like always… what shoes to wear…?

Not too simple, not only black but we well not over-styled and too funky. The “Allettare” heels from .shi made it in the end. With the non usual shape of the heel and the sole, but still the not too funky wooden heel and black leather fabric it was perfect for the look. I looked at what I did till now and still I was missing something. I started to change around the skirt with pants and went back and forth between a lot of different skirts and pants until I got the idea to basically have both… leggings under a skirt!

Again I took something out of a full outfit, this time from [AD] Creations, the “Gothic Pants”. Now it looked complete!

Playing with Projectors and Lighs – Part I

TFC Fantasy 01

A few days ago, I joined a class about blogging as I wanted to know if I can learn something new, as I am always looking for new thing I can discover and raise my horizon.

The class was amazing and at some point we came to the part of the pictures and how to take them and wich kind of pictures are for what situation. Usually you have more clean pics for blogging and castings and some more artistic pictures for a storytelling blog post or magazines.

We were talking about many of the very popular photographers in SL and as well about the difference of photographer and artists.

While a photographer usually just takes pics and does them tweak a little bit in one of the graphic programs, the artist takes a snapshot and you will not see the original snap anymore after the artist did the magic with the picture in his program by painting and editing a lot by hand. I would never go so far, to say one has less work or more work than the other, the amount of work might be the same, just it is in 2 totally different ways. While the artist has to be very familiar with his editing s program, his graphic tablet and his skills to paint and illustrate, the photographer needs to be familiar with the SL windlights, shadows, special angles and lights and maybe even with projectors or lighting tools. Both is a lot of work, I believe and it needs a lot of practice just it complete different ways.

TFC Fantasy 02

I saw for a longer time , that many photographers work with a tool called lumipro. I remember great pics done with this special light tool and I always wanted one to try but, since it is not cheap and I work in so many different areas, I never got one.

But then… lately I was talking to a very long friend of mine a lot and helped her here and there if she wanted my opinion, as friends do usually. Out of the blue one day when I logged in I got a gift…

The crazy girl did know, that I was after the lumipro for quite some time and guess what… She gifted me a lumipro!!! I stormed her IMs telling her she would be crazy to make such expensive gifts and I was totally happy and crazy about. She was just calm, smiles and told me that would be her way to show me how much she appreciated my help. I told her, that I did not do that for any kind of gift, more just because of our friendship and that I never expected anything for that, but she insisted on that this would be her way and I better accept it.

OMG I have a lumipro!

The rest of the evening was just gone, with all the work I wanted to do and I totally lost myself in my new toy. I have to admit I have still no clue how it works properly and I will need to watch a lot of tutorials and ask around to really get used to this fantastic tool but I am more than willing to try!

For today I just played around with the presets and changed them lightly, to see what possibilities and features it has.

TFC Fantasy 03

God this is a weapon if you know what you are doing with it!!!

I just placed myself in front of a white wall with my war turtle from [Swagga] and turned my windlight settings to midnight to see the full range of the light balls.

I was blown away what those 3 balls can do and I digged further into the user manual on the lumipro website to see what all those buttons of the HUD can do.

Then I found the projectors… holy cow! Now I know how some light settings were made on pictures that I loved so much!

The way to project lights behind you with different textures as filters, was something I totally had forgotten about since I started to play with windlights.

I do not know much at all yet to really use this fantastic photography tool properly, but I know that I will spend a lot of time in the future to be able to operate this HUD and bein able to use all its functions and features as this really is a lot of fun to play around with and that is the reason why I named this post ‘Part I’, because I am really sure about that this will not be the last post about my playing with lights and projectors πŸ˜‰

But for now I have to finish as there is a lot of work left wich got delayed because of my new lumipro :p

LOTD 02/11/2015 – From SoliDea FoliEs & Miamai with Love

Solidea+Miamai 01

Valentines Day is not too far away and today I would like to showcase one of the amazing creations of SoliDea FoliEs for the ‘Love is in the air’ event which is done by GizzA again.

Mila Tatham created this amazing “Palloncino” outfit for that special event. The short dress with the huge back part is an amazing piece which should not be missing in every fashionistas wardrobe. The dress itself carries a black fabric and the beautiful back part has a black & white striped outer and a cute and sweet pink inner side.

I will have anopther post soon about SoliDEa FoliEs, since Mila Tatham started to make her own mesh and already released her first self made mesh outfit!

To add some more dramatic feeling to it, I paired the “Palloncino” outfit with one of the latest releases from Miamai. The incredible “Claustra” head piece is available at the February round of We <3 RP event. On the first view they look kinda simple but if you take a closer look you can see the amazing detailed fabric, the runes on the top and the awesome metal veil with the tear drop gemstones. The head piece is the first release for the Black Label collection of Miamai in 2015.

TheΒ  shoes are one of my latest releases for Wicca’s Wardrobe. The “Doro Booties” are made for the slink high feet and available in 10 different colors at the main store. The leather based booties have some amazing silver details like the cross on the ankle and the studds that decorate the shoe. With the silver heel they are a must have for all the cool and daring girls out there!

LOTD 12/02/204 – Escape the first snowflakes!

Solidea 01

Today we had the first snowflakes falling down in Germany. When I was driving to the school I am teaching music and arts, I had the very first snowflakes kissed the front window of my car. Certainly they immediately melted when the reached the ground but still…SNOW!

When I came home today, I had the very strong feeling to post something AGAINST that snow issue :p

So I wanted to do something with some sunny colors and I remembered one of the creations SoliDea FoliEs for the Ferosh Magazine.

The “Orange Doll” was exactly what my soul desired after the snow shock this morning πŸ˜‰

The white dress has a wonderful back print wich shows a female face with amazing orange accents.

To kinda bring back that feeling I added the “Elsepet ~ Orange” eyeshadow from Zibska.

Solidea 02

For the hair I chose something I got from Miamai, what really caught my attention when I opened it.

The “Beatrice Headwrap” with the orange & black fabric just was the perfect addition to the dress. The modern hairstyle with the great headpiece really gave the whole outfit a sunny touch πŸ˜‰

The awesome shoulder piece comes from EMO-tions. The “Romina” ensemble contains 2 parts. One necklace and one shoulder piece, which you as well can wear single.

I hope I could bring my sunny feeling over to you and I guess I now better put on my warm winter clothes before my pixels get a cold like I already got RL πŸ˜‰

Adventures with Miamai

Miamai 001

Sometimes things fall together and you have not even a clue why…

Like it was today with my styling. I was fooling around with some stuff, because I wanted to see about a few unpacked folders I had not yet sorted in my inventory that I wanted to blog.

I started with the new Miamai items for We<3RP. Miamai made amazing accessories like the “Battle Fairy” breast plate and wings and the “War Queen Bug Crown”, wich I used to start my todays styling.

The wings and breast-plate come with a huge HUD to customize colors of the gems and the wings in many single parts and the “War Queen Bug Crown” is offered in 3 different colors as well.

Miamai 002

So I had to find an outfit that goes with thoe fantastic accessories…

Miamai recently re-released a few of their most popular designs revamped for the new slink appliers. The “Suane” in black was a super basic to start with for today’s look.

For the pants I used the “Gale” pants from an outfit made by [AD] Creations. This huge wide pants with the amazing big horns and the sheer flexible prims that reach down from the hips just were the perfect match to the incredible “Battle Fairy” from Miamai.

For the shoes I used one of Baboom’s latest releases called “Dolores” in deep red. This amazing high heels have a wonderful little chain with a little rose decorating the heel and you can wear them with the Slink high feet.

Miamai 003

Still there was missing something and I remembered the amazing hand jewelry, that Ivi made for one of the WEIB events. The awesome “Hand Bangle” was the perfect accessory and the “Stiletto Nails” as well from Formanails, which she has at the moment on WEIB just has the perfect color to go with the wings.

The “Dark Desire” collar I made my self for Wicca’s Wardrobe, so I just needed something extraordinary for the face. The fashion mask “Vagary Mistress” from Madrid Solo with the many tiny gems totally underlined the look I wanted to archive.

Now I just had to find a cool location to snap this as a normal environment would not value the look itself. I was roaming around and some when I came to the Spencer Art Museum and this looked to be the right place for today’s pictures.

Gothic Moments with LeeZu!

Leezu - Aurora 001

Anyways if furniture or fashion LeeZu always amazes us with her creations. Today I have the pleasure to showcase one of her latest creations, the “Aurora” gown.

This delicate and elegant gown is a firework of textures and fabrics. The bodice is made with a black satin looking fabric. The right side has an amazing line over the shoulder and the left is totally blank what gives a very sexy touch.Β  The belly is covered by some filigree white lace on a black base. The black skirt is covered by a wonderful white laced top skirt. A beautiful brooch decorated the left side of the bodice πŸ™‚

The jewelry I decided to wear with the “Aurora” gown comes from Baboom. For this stunning gown I wanted to have something that is not blingy or too shiny but still something special. The “Xena Set was exactly the right addition. With the unusual shape and the cool non symmetric wholes it complemented the gown in a very special way. The set contains bracelets and a collar.

The incredible hat was made by [AD] Creations. The “Sophie Mesh HEaddress” added some more elegance and some serious mystic feelings to the whole look. With the horns, the black roses, the steel cage in front of the face and the veil parts it really made a great finish for my today’s look πŸ˜‰

To underline that black and white idea behind it I put on some of my favourite nails from Nailed It – the “Cracked Set”.
