Vintage Impressions

Recently I got asked, if I do set myself any kind of styling challenges, because I have so many different looks on my blog. No I don’t! :p

Usually I get my ideas in the very moment when I put on clothing or accessories. Sometimes it even  starts with a completely different idea and turns into the opposite in the end. Like today, when I put on the new “Sasha” outfit from LX Essentials. “Sasha” is a cute and sweet ensemble of a solid skirt and a beautiful laced top. With the HUD you can change the sold AND the lace colors! First I had a lingerie or sweet casual style in mind and even was playing with the color HUD between pink and red.

While I was looking for the matching accessories, I stumbled over one of the newest releases from Enfant Terrible. The “Large Fur” is an amazing rigged fur piece, which goes down from the left shoulder to the bottom, only the hand is visible. Because it is rigged, it moves perfectly with an inbuilt pose for the arm with your AO and poses.

As soon as I saw the outfit together with the large fur attachment, I pulled back up the HUD for the outfit and changes the color to something black and cream to match the fur. From there on the vintage impression was set. I wanted to have some more fur around the neck and found another, for Maitreya body rigged, fur from Enfant Terrible.

 

I think it must be really hard to make fur for Second Life. Most you see is either blurry, has alpha glitches or it looks like many little sharp triangles added up. You rarely find some real cool and realistic looking fur with most of the mesh items. But rarely you get the impression of something really smooth and fuzzy but LeEnfant Terrible, owner and creator of Enfant Terrible, really did an amazing job with her fur!

For the shoes I used the “Smilla” heels from UTOPIA@Design, With the awesome HUD it was relatively easy to match them to the tones of the outfit and the way how this amazing peep-toes are made even the style looked perfect vintage. Besides all the colors and presets you even can control the glossiness with the HUD and decide if you want a more latex shinny look or a more matte leather looking one… really amazing and so versatile!

An elegant – never thought I would call me that – vintage Lady certainly needs a head and certain accessories and what hat could fit better than the “Vintage Romance” one from LODE – The name already proves. I will turn around for the next picture so you can see all is beauty 😉

So all I had left to add was some jewelry – certainly some ivory pearls – and a long vintage cigarette holder 😉

Lately I more and more try to built my own sceneries, as it takes me ages until I find a place or sim where I can shoot or even rezz a posestand, plus you have way more control how busy your background will be if you not wanna spend hours to derender everything around you what you think you will not need and relog like a million times because you derendered the wrong thing or too much of something 😉

The basic mostly are 2 prims that I use to texture them with wallpaper and floor textures, so I can start building a room/set.

Since I had no idea what I was looking for I just typed vintage into my inventory search and looked what came up. That was how I found that amazing little set from Tuesdays with the table and the frames. After I rezzed it, I saw I do not need much more than just some little decor and maybe a few light resources. Sometimes it does not need much to have a proper scenery if you want to showcase mainly your style.

Spring is coming… soon! – Spring Dreams 2017

Today I am very happy to showcase one of the newest releases from Enfant Terrible. The stunning “Verdandi” dress is available at the actual round of the Enchantment.

I always admired Enfant for her stunning textures and her super amazing designs. And again the “Verdandi” dress shows exactly what I am talking about. The incredible texturing in different colors and as well the cool wrapped around belt make a great contrast. The dress looks so filigree and sophisticated and the strong leather belt with those cool studs just breaks up the romantic feeling in an amazing way.

The sweet head piece I found on the Enchantment event as well in a gacha machine from LODE. The “Bleeding Hearts” head piece with the little red hearts on top of the yellow/green leaves just made the perfect head dress for the “Verdandi” dress to me and it pulled back some of the romantic mood the dress has for me.

For the makeup and lipstick I decided to go with one of my personal favourites – Zibska. I love the creativity of Zib Scaggs, anyways if it is, apparel, makeup, shoes or accessories. She has such a great eye for colors, shapes and details and two of her newest make up releases I found at the Enchantment event as well. In total she has 4 packs – 2 eye shadows and 2 lipsticks –  at the Enchantment, kinda one dark and one light set and I chose to mix them for today’s post with the light eye shadow and the deep and dark shining lips.

Today I chose to use an inworld location, as iI wanted something like the first spring kiss, as I have enough of all the winter colds already and in Germany we got the first sunny days even if they still are not that warm 😉 At “Romantic Moods” they already changed from the winter season to a spring coming soon layout, which just was perfect for my idea for the pictures.

Can Latex and Vinyl be Fashion? – Yes they can!

Sometimes you just sit there and stare at your inventory, not knowing what you wanna do… You just see a wall of things you wanna blog and you cannot make up your mind what you should do first. I usually start then first with some inventory sorting and cleaning, what I anyways do way to occasionally…

Sometimes you get lucky and find an inspiration while you are sorting, sometimes you just have to put on several things until feels like “DingDingDing” and you know exactly what you wanna do 😉

It wasnt that bad this time, as I did know I want to showcase one of the latest releases of [sys] from the Black Fair and the mega cool Elephant seat from 22769 from the actual We <3 RP event.

 Now, the big question was how to bring those 2 together in a cool way, as I wanted to combine the latex look of the “Hellia” dress with the light shining texture of the “Elephant Loveseat”.

When I looked through my inventory to see what more I could use for my scenery, I came across the “Chameleon Bag” from Boutique #187, which i just put on the sofa, as I did not yet know what kind of poses I wanna use. Furthermore I found a shelf, that I got last year at the On9 event from six o’clock and some wall art from 22769.

The scenery became more and more monochrome and modern and so I decided to wear the “Overcast” hat from LODE to my styling. It is a long time favourite of mine and while I was fooling around with several poses more and more the idea of the huge hat did grow in my head. Last but not least I added the wrist cuffs of our new “Cathbad Set”, which we made with Wicca’s Wardrobe for the actual round of The Secret affair and some sheer tights from Izzie’s, to feature the gold parts of the “Hellia” outfit a little bit more.

To finish my look I certainly HAD to use my new “Nemesia” angle boots from Glamistry. Since I saw that boots the first time I fell in love with them. I know they are not the newest release from Glamistry but they are one of my personal favorites! They are so versatile! Depending on the color and color combinations they can feature every style from casual to elegant. Today certainly I had to go for black & gold to match the actual look (not to mention that black is my favourite colors anyways :p )

Overall this look might be another example, that latex can be fashionable even if so many still sort it only in the wrong corner… even some of the most popular designers used latex and vinyl for their creations and put it on the runways of our world 😉

“One last sunbeam before the long cold winter” featuring Prism & EMO-tions

This time I have something very special. I got it longer ago, but with all the RL crap that was going on lately with things, which really were throwing me out of line for quite some time, it had to wait till now. But it is such an amazing dress that I could not forget about it 😉

I am talking about the “Alouette” dress in the ‘sparrow’ version. The long mesh dress catches attention with the exciting and captivating texture. The white sparrow on the orange/salmon background bring so much light and sun back to the cold and grey autumn days, that this dress shines kinda like the last sunbeam before the long and dark winter is coming 😉

With the dress as well the golden belt and bracelets come. I just moved up the right bracelet and made it kinda like an armlet, as I like the non symmetric looks.

The hair is one of the newest releases from EMO-tions, called “Arielle”. The long and straight mesh hairstyle leaves the left shoulder free and over the right shoulders, it falls down in the front.

With the “Alouette” dress, the “Arielle” hair and the “Naughty Couture Heels” in white from Dirty Princess, the whole look got a very simple everyday touch. But I wanted something more special for the amazing sparrows 😉

So I added the “Overcast” hat made by Lode and the cute “Chatterbox Clutch” from 7891.

Recently I I fell in love with a new skin. [sys] released 2 new skin lines and I totally fell in love with the “Eva” skin. It has amazing details and to the same time it looks so smooth and realistic – just stunning! I promise I soon will have a spotlight blog about my new skin 😉

For the makeup I again used one of my long time favourites. Launa Fauna makes super stunning 3D looking lips since I can think of and I rarely found lips I liked more than those and they matched the “Eva” lips so well. For the eye makeup as well I am wearing a Launa Fauna design called “Midnight Glitter Swipe” and I added the “Twotone Makeup” in gold warm-gray over it.

I know the summer is kinda over but with this look, I at least could bring back some of it to my mind 😉

The new “Nautical Business” outfit from GizzA once again shows that even a business outfit can be fashion and sexy 😉 .

The new Nautical line from GizzA brought us many new and wonderful outfits and the “Nautical Business” outfit is just one of them. I already showed you another one a few weeks ago.

The ensemble contains the amazing blouse and the super sexy non symmetric skirt with the long row of buttons in the front. The ruffles at the bottom of the skirt and the way how the top is designed it has a lightly vintage character especially in the black and white colors.

For the shoes I decided to wear the new “Betty Heels” as well from GizzA, wich are made for the high version of the Slink mesh feet.

To underline that vintage touch I added the “Oversized Sunglasses” from Izzie’s and the super cool “Vintage Romance” hat from LODE. The cute clutch I have from Lybra Rage, but from her old brand called “House of Rage” and I am not sure if it still is for sale.

The amazing and natural looking nails are from Nailed It out of the “French Pastel Set”.
