Fears, Anxieties & Nightmares…

I still cannot believe it… I was invited to an Art Gallery as an artist!

Not too long ago I was IMed by someone, that told me if I ever would have considered my pictures as art…

I was quite speechless, because until now I never thought about making art I just made pictures for my blog posts*giggles*

But now I would like to talk a little bit about the guy that found me 😉

John (Johannes1977), owner of the Windlight Gallery and the Windlight Magazine.

He and his partner, the lovely Emma Portilo, created that amazing place and Magazine that features new, aspiring artists as well as experienced and popular artists of Second Life.

To have such a place, is something very precious as you rarely will find something like that… giving young and new artists the same chance as already popular and well-known names.

When he asked me, if I ever thought about having an exhibition or show for my pictures, I nearly did faint…

I really could not believe, that an experienced and well-known artist would consider my pictures art and it took me some days to get familiar with that thought*giggles*…  you can ask him, how insecure and excited I was…

He was so nice and kind and encouraged me for quite some time, until I dared to agree to try it.

Now I had to think about making art… what did not make it easier*chuckles*

I thought back and forth what I could do and I guess, I kinda ‘over thought it’ as I did not find anything that I thought would be as good to be displayed. Then I just slapped myself and forced myself to not think too much and just do what I feel.

The idea was to have several different pictures for the gallery, but when i started making some pictures I more and more came across, that I wanted to tell a little story with my pictures.

I ended up with 2 different series, which were born out of 2 totally different visions.

The first one is the one I have on this post.

I called it “Chased…” as a work title. The idea behind was that in our lifes we are running from fears, nightmares and anxieties, just because it is something we do not know better.

So the steam punk looking fishes are kinda synonymous for all those things we run from.

Sometimes we even feel attacked or even bitten by those and try to defend us and survive or get rid of them at least for the moment.

But what, if we stop running and turn around facing them?

Maybe we can get them known better and all of a sudden they are not anymore formidable? It might not work for all of them but with some we maybe can make our peace after some time?

It might now work with all, but for many it can, at least for some it was like that for me. And in the end you might be able to go along with them like I did with swimming together with the fishes instead of always running from them 😉

A few days ago, as I was working my shift, a sweet girl landed. She IMed me and before she could say anything I remembered, that I know that I know her from a blog I found recently. Cierra Emor – cute sweet and a little rebel like me 😉

After we talked a little bit I had the feeling we should do a post together and I asked Cierra about it. First she said she would be too busy at the moment with her blogging for the FFL and I told her we do not have to do it right away, just when we both are free and wanna have some fun.

The more we talked, the more I  found out what a sweet heart she is and when she finally offered me the friendship, I felt very honored 🙂 .

So I finished my shift and went back to my work, when all of a sudden my IM box rang and Cierra was in telling me she just put together a look she would like to blog with me. So quick it can come… *snickers*… and I asked her if she could send me a quick snap, so I could style something according to her look.

She came up with a bad girl look in a short dress and when I saw this, I remembered the “Uruwa” dress I found at Collabor 88. I never found an occasion to blog it but with Cierra’s look it was totally perfect. What caught my attention for the “Uruwa” dress was the amazing texture and the open back of that sweet and short mesh dress.

To complete the look, I added the “Cat Tights” and the “Piccadilly Overknee Boots” from LeeZu.

The wonderful “Birdy” tattoo comes from White Widow, made by the super talented Julie Hastings and the hair with the light windblown look I got at LeLutka.

Cierra found a wonderful place to mak the pics and we just tried several poses until we found a few matching ones.

The whole time we had great fun. Thank you so much Cierra for your patience with me and that wonderful time we spent together – I hope it was not the last time 😉 .

Wicca’s Wardrobe: I have my first own store!

Today is a very special day for me. I got my first Mainstore for Wicca’s Wardrobe. I recently started to make poses for my blog and I got asked again and again why I would not sell them.

I thought about and after being scared for quite some time, I started to sort my poses and tried to make a few mini sets. Each of my regular pose sets will have 5 poses, which you can buy single or even as a fatpack with a discount on it 😉 .

I thought about what kind of poses I would like to make. There is already a lot of amazing runway pose makers out on the grid and a few are very close friends of mine. I am not a very competitive person and so I decided to make special sets for a special purpose. For example when I needed some cool casual jeans poses and could not find what I had in mind I just made me some and called the set “Casual Jeans”, or when I wanted to make a post with a handbag, a more cool that elegant one I found non that matched and so the “Cool Handbag” set was born. Another time I had to pose a wonderful Azul gown with super huge flower parts and so the “Huge Flowers” set came to life.

My poses will always have a purpose for each set and maybe that’s why they will carry funny names sometimes ;).

For the opening of my very first store I wanted to make another set. I was styling the amazing “Cross Halter Dress” from R2, that I found at the Collabor88 combines with the huge “MTL” hat from [AD] Creations. This super huge hat again brought exactly the ‘find the right pose problem’ and I thought I maybe can make a new set for opening my first Mainstore with a “Big Hat Fun” set 😉

I wanted to have some not just nice and sweet lo9oking poses for that huge hat since the mesh dress is kinda special 😉

For my new brand Wicca’s Wardrobe,  I wanted to make a new clear logo. I wanted to cut back on one letter only, but I wanted to keep the snake that was with me for such a long time now. Snake is my asian zodiac as well so it has a special meaning to me 😉
