I had a very rough few days, thinking about friendship and about the fact that you think you know people and then you get badly disappointed to find out… you were completely wrong by thinking you knew someone.

It is not the first time that I had to find out about the true colors of someone, who called me “friend” for a longer time. Every time when that happened, I told myself to not trust people anymore – especially not in a virtual environment, where it is even more easy to trick people about your identity and character.

For what ever reason, I go against my own guts again and again, when I meet new people. I always try to force myself to not trust them right away or maybe do not trust them at all even. But you know how that goes, if you are an emotional and true person, there will be a point after some time, where you feel something for someone and just can’t hold the protective wall, which you built around you, up any longer and again you fall for something you call friendship after a while. In good times, all will go fine and you think you got to know someone, even if he or she lives all across the world on the other half of the globe. And many times it really is like that, but you again and again will face the fact, that there is rotten tomatoes between all the good red ones. Usually they are well hidden and so it takes a while until they are seeing the sunlight. If they do it mostly hurts. In the past even more than today, as with getting older you experience that more often certainly, even if you never will get used to it.

If I think about closely, the situations where it turned out good, feel even stronger. I don’t want miss the friendship to a hand full of people I met in Second Life over the years – some of them I even call family by now and they most likely or better hopefully never would turn 180° on me. What if I would have gone with my “no trust” policy strictly? I never would have met those I truly care for and think about, even if I am not in Second Life. I would have missed those who I can trust and who trust me and all the wonderful times we shared together. So I guess I will be hurt again in the future, as I am not willing to give up on trusting people in general… I do not want to miss out on those, which possibly could become amazing wonderful friends over the time. Some probably would call me stupid for that, I would call it human I guess 😉

The new Miriam Boots by Wicca’s Originals bring a fresh take on footwear. The most prominent feature is the blocky, thick platform and heel which features some unique embellishments. The holes drilled through them not only makes the boots weigh less, but also could be tied or chained together to hobble the wearer for fun. The metal bracings on the platform and the heel complement the rings of those gaps and are matched by bracings on the toe and shin. The metal addition gives it a soft ‘punk’ aesthetic, but what really gives these boots some edge is the faux tearing in them. The seeming ripped material reveals a smooth, flexible polyfiber mesh underneath, and on the other side conceals the zipper line in a flattering manner. The boot material and metal embellishments come in 10 colors, for Maitreya, Legacy, Freya, Hourglass and Physique feet.

Made in a style to match the Valorie Bodychain, or worn by itself, the Nyana Legchains by Wicca’s Originals are a seductive treat to show off some skin. Thin links clink together as they hug around thighs and calves, tapering away from four ‘V’ shaped patches of cloth down the leg. The V is a historical symbol for the “sacred feminine”, alluding to the wisdom and power of women. It ties to goddesses such as Venus, Voluptas, and Virgo. The shape is suggestive of female sexuality, and one should feel empowered by wearing these, showing off the shapeliness of the legs, as well as one’s sacred feminine power. Wicca’s Originals has put together another fine set of footwear. The Prudence Booties offer a platform with a high-arch supported by a thick, tiered heel. From that starting point, the booties sport a bold punk flavor, with a spiked ‘collar’ wrapped around the top of the foot. A trifecta of chains decorate the ankle, the foot, and the platform itself, shaking to announce every step.
