GizzA goes Vintage

Gizza 2

I love vintage looks! I always did though and so the “Absinthe” dress in vintage green totally caught my heart πŸ˜‰

The dress comes with the matching necklace and is available in other wonderful vintage and non vintage patterns.

The wonderful floral print adds a lot of sweetness and beauty to the whole look.

To match the dress I certainly wanted a good girl hair and I remembered one of the braided hair styles from EMO-tions, the “Mela” hair.

The shoes, which came in the perfect shade are from Eudora.

Now I needed a place to snap this cute look. Lately Saz did renew the little parcel behind our store to a wonderful summery looking scene. I tried several places and it was really a hard desicion since there are so many nice spots πŸ˜‰

Tadaaaa, that’s my GizzA vintage look for today πŸ˜‰

News @ Elysium

Elysium-WW 01

Today I have some news from Elysium. I know Aleida Rhode for a long time by now and that makes it always special if you blog for a long time friend πŸ™‚

Today I tried a littleΒ  mix and match of her latest releases. I started… uncommon with the wonderful “Byron Hat”. That wonderful unisex hat is available at TLC in May 2015 so hurry to get yours ;). It comes with a HUD to recolor the hat in all pieces to make sure it matches your styling.

Then I found the wonderful “Louise Boho Pants”. Those leger puffy pants with the totally trendy pattern and colors. I love pants anyways more than anything else so those definitely will make the way to my favourite folder πŸ˜‰

Elysium-WW 03

Since I cannot wear high heels in my RL most of the time, because of the jobs I do, I love them in SL and nearly never wear anything else. But the “Pointy Flats” from Elysium just caught my attention. With the pointy tip they have an elegant character but as well they have a lot of casual with being flat. That made them being the perfect addition for my today’s look.

To complete the look I added a color matching jacket from Wicca’s Wardrobe, actually one of our latest releases, the “Charlotte Jacket” in brown.

With the “Cosmo Glasses” as well from Wicca’s Wardrobe, that totally would be a style I would wear RL as well πŸ˜‰

Nailed It! – “Cracked Set”

This time I have the great pleasure, to showcase some of the newest designs of SoliDea FoliEs.

But before I will put the attention to the amazing designs I would like to focus again on my nails… I realized lately that wearing nails is something so ‘normal’ that you tend to forget about and usually they do not get the spotlight they earn. My nail polish for this post was made by Giela Delpaso, owner and designer of Nailed It! and a very good friend of mine. She puts so much effort in her work… it is incredible what tiny filigree art she puts on her nail designs.

Today I used some nail polishes from her “Cracked Set”. Lately Nailed it” not only provides nails for slink appliers and a set of mesh nails, but as well the HUDs for Maitreya and Belleza hands!

from left to right: SoliDea FoliEs – “Dolce”, “Uno.Mint”, “Flora” & “Dots into Spring”

Mila Tatham is back with amazing news and as well original mesh creations!

She made an amazing Spring/Summer Collection. Parts of her creations were showcased on the Saviad Anniversary and the wonderful FEROSH shows over that weekend.

Looking at her whole collection I was not really able to choose which dress or gown I would like to showcase first, so I put o all of them and snapped them to not be forced to just focus on one of them πŸ˜‰

Β From left to right we can see the “Dulce” dress, a short sleeve less dress with an amazing zebra print and a wonderful floral middle. Up next we have one of the Saviad exclusive releases called “Uno” in a mint color. The dress has a mesh basic and wonderful flexible prims added to give the whole outfit a very aerial look. The collar is attached to the dress already. The third design is called “Flora” and the name already tells what it is πŸ˜‰ A beautiful long-sleeved dress that reaches down to the ground with an awesome floral pattern. Last but not least we have the cute “Dots into Spring” dress. I am addicted to dots anyways and that sweet dress as well has this pretty flower to attach at the shoulder and as well some flexible prims that give the whole design a very realistic look, even if I liked it without as well πŸ˜‰

To see all the amazing new releases and original mesh designs of Mila Tatham, owner and genius designer of SoliDea FoliEs, you better make your way to her main store and watch around all the wonderful new releases and all time favourites πŸ˜‰

White Widow meets EMO-tions

EMOtions & White Widow 001

Hair: EMO-tions – “Peggy” Earrings: EMO-tions – “Cherry” Eye Makeup: White Widow – “Lost River” Tattoo: White Widow – “Narcisse”

I would like to start my “catching up with the missing 2 weeks of my life” with 2 of my favourite designers and as well 2 very long time friends. Mirja Mills from EMO-tions and Julie Hastings from White Widow. Both are amazing designers, who look back on a long past of creating to make our SL more and more nice πŸ˜‰

For this post I made 3 stylings always paired with hair & jewelry from EMO-tions and makeup & tattoos made by White Widow.

EMOtions & White Widow 002

Hair: EMO-tions – “Peggy” Earrings: EMO-tions – “Cherry” Eye Makeup: White Widow – “Lost River” Tattoo: White Widow – “Narcisse”

When I tried on the “Peggy” hair style, I immediately got the impression of a Rockabilly Pin Up look. I added the “Cherry” earrings to even more go towards the look I had in my mind. Certainly a Rockabilly girl needs a super cool tattoo and where else than at White Widow you can find those? When I opened the “Lost River” pack, I was very surprised to see all of the most popular mesh body applier in there and so I did throw on my Slink Physique to try the tattoos on a mesh body. The lingerie I am wearing is the default one that comes with the slink Physique as it really looked nice with the whole styling πŸ˜‰ The “Lost River” tattoo can be word with the normal avatar as a tattoo layer and as not only the Slink appliers, you as well can wear it for the Belleza, Maitreya, Sking Brazilia Doll and the TMP mesh body and hands.

For the eye makeup I as well chose one of the latest releases from White Widow, the “Narcisse” design in black, which was made for the Black Fashion Fair.

For my second styling I chose the “Windblown 9 ” hair as well from EMO-tions together with the “Florielle” necklace out of the full set that comes with earrings, necklace and a wonderful forearm/hand piece ( I have to make sure to show that in a nother post soon!) This hair was right down my alley… wild, crazy and perfect for pictures in a windy or stormy environment!

The wonderful and filigree eye art again was made by Julie Hastings, owner and designer of White Widow. The “Arctica” makeup again shows why I am so in love with White Widow…

Β The filigree art work, those tiny lines placed by hand so straight and clean it amazes me every time again when I wear one of Julie’s new designs… she really is an artist when it comes to those tiny little but incredible drawings! The “Arctica” makeup is available at the New Fashion Store Event.

Last but not least I chose the “Imani” hairstyle from EMO-tions. With that ethnic looking hair style I am wearing the “Aphrodite” set to underline this kind of look. The “Inca” makeup from White Widow was the perfect addition for this look and with the amazing golden color it matched the “Aphrodite” jewelry. The “Inca” makeup you can find at the On9 Event.

LOTD 03/12/2015 – Original Mesh from SoliDea FoliEs

Solidea01

Today I was in a bit of a sad mood so I guess it kinda influenced today’s pictures a bit…

Not too long ago I got the great “Sweet Powder Shirt” from SoliDEa FoliEs. Lately Mila Tatham started to make her own mesh and the “Sweet Powder Shirt” is one of her very own selfmeshed creations. In the package there comes a wonderful black flexi skirt and black mesh panties with the outfit but I wanted to wear some pants for my today’s look πŸ˜‰

The shirt is a non symmetric design with one long sleeve and a bare one for the other arm. With the puffy sleeves it is a great contrast to the other side.

Solidea02

For the pants I chose the amazing “Perceive” pants from Lyrical Bizarre Templates. The black pants with the dark tartan looking fabric just made the perfect match to the look I wanted to go for.

I have an addiction for dark stylings, always when I get asked about my favourite color I name black even if black is not a real color :p

Sometimes I just wanna add a single color somewhere and today it was a monocle with red accents, that caught my attention. The “Greatest Love Earthbound Monocle” in black from Sanu. To repeat the only color of this look I decided to go with red shoes and red fingernails. The cool looking shoes I grabbed at “9ty” and the amazing nail polish again is made by my favourite nail designer Giela Delpaso from Nailed It!

Solidea04

The amazing hair I found at Vanity Hair. The “Guns & Pearls” hair style is exactly my favourite way of wearing my hair RL so I had to have it and use it for my todays styling πŸ™‚

The amazing black & white sofa was made by 22769 for the Future Wave event 2015. Originally the sofa has 2 parts one inner and one outer ring, but for today I only used the outer ring of the “Snake Sofa”

New @ Machoire

Avant Kette 03b

Today I am very happy, tha I am able to showcase a very new designer on the grid. Machoire, a genius woman, who named her brand after herself or vice versa ;).

She creates original mesh and designs jewelry, hair and accessories in a very artistic way in a new and modern look and style.

Today I would like to showcase one of her great new necklaces called “Livay Nacklace”.

Avant Kette 02b

This huge necklace is an art piece and you do not need any busy outfit for it, tha is why I just put on a tight body suit to really let this wonderful design shine and not drag any attention from it.

You have a wonderful front, wich goes deep down to the belly and the back as well is wonderfully handcrafted and artistic shaped. As a little decoration in the front you have some sweet little gems added. The whole piece is texture change able with the huge HUD that comes with the necklace. You have the choice to change the metals and the gems to make sure you can make it match to all of your outfits and stylings.

Machoire… definitely a name to remember or put on your shopping list and I am very curious what she will bring out next! Avant Kette 04b

Playing with Projectors and Lighs – Part I

TFC Fantasy 01

A few days ago, I joined a class about blogging as I wanted to know if I can learn something new, as I am always looking for new thing I can discover and raise my horizon.

The class was amazing and at some point we came to the part of the pictures and how to take them and wich kind of pictures are for what situation. Usually you have more clean pics for blogging and castings and some more artistic pictures for a storytelling blog post or magazines.

We were talking about many of the very popular photographers in SL and as well about the difference of photographer and artists.

While a photographer usually just takes pics and does them tweak a little bit in one of the graphic programs, the artist takes a snapshot and you will not see the original snap anymore after the artist did the magic with the picture in his program by painting and editing a lot by hand. I would never go so far, to say one has less work or more work than the other, the amount of work might be the same, just it is in 2 totally different ways. While the artist has to be very familiar with his editing s program, his graphic tablet and his skills to paint and illustrate, the photographer needs to be familiar with the SL windlights, shadows, special angles and lights and maybe even with projectors or lighting tools. Both is a lot of work, I believe and it needs a lot of practice just it complete different ways.

TFC Fantasy 02

I saw for a longer time , that many photographers work with a tool called lumipro. I remember great pics done with this special light tool and I always wanted one to try but, since it is not cheap and I work in so many different areas, I never got one.

But then… lately I was talking to a very long friend of mine a lot and helped her here and there if she wanted my opinion, as friends do usually. Out of the blue one day when I logged in I got a gift…

The crazy girl did know, that I was after the lumipro for quite some time and guess what… She gifted me a lumipro!!! I stormed her IMs telling her she would be crazy to make such expensive gifts and I was totally happy and crazy about. She was just calm, smiles and told me that would be her way to show me how much she appreciated my help. I told her, that I did not do that for any kind of gift, more just because of our friendship and that I never expected anything for that, but she insisted on that this would be her way and I better accept it.

OMG I have a lumipro!

The rest of the evening was just gone, with all the work I wanted to do and I totally lost myself in my new toy. I have to admit I have still no clue how it works properly and I will need to watch a lot of tutorials and ask around to really get used to this fantastic tool but I am more than willing to try!

For today I just played around with the presets and changed them lightly, to see what possibilities and features it has.

TFC Fantasy 03

God this is a weapon if you know what you are doing with it!!!

I just placed myself in front of a white wall with my war turtle from [Swagga] and turned my windlight settings to midnight to see the full range of the light balls.

I was blown away what those 3 balls can do and I digged further into the user manual on the lumipro website to see what all those buttons of the HUD can do.

Then I found the projectors… holy cow! Now I know how some light settings were made on pictures that I loved so much!

The way to project lights behind you with different textures as filters, was something I totally had forgotten about since I started to play with windlights.

I do not know much at all yet to really use this fantastic photography tool properly, but I know that I will spend a lot of time in the future to be able to operate this HUD and bein able to use all its functions and features as this really is a lot of fun to play around with and that is the reason why I named this post ‘Part I’, because I am really sure about that this will not be the last post about my playing with lights and projectors πŸ˜‰

But for now I have to finish as there is a lot of work left wich got delayed because of my new lumipro :p
