Sometimes one of your Dreams comes true…

Sometimes you dream of something for a long time and when you think not too much about it, it all of a sudden comes true!

As a blogger you have some personal goals and this year another one of my biggest ones came true. I am allowed to blog for Death Row Designs! I am a DRD addicted for years, probably since I started playing Second Life. I adore their buildings and landscaping parts as well as their clothing, accessories and shoes. My inventory still holds accessories and body parts from times before mesh did enter the grid and now with BoM some of them do work again! And certainly I do not want to bother you only with the old stuff – Today I have something brand new for you! The “Hellion Outfit”, released at The Warehouse Sale event. The outfit is made for Maitreya Lara,/Petite, Legacy and Legacy Perky , Freya and Hourglass mesh bodies. The pants have 4 colors to choose from and the top even have 7 different versions – if I may give a suggestion… just get the fatpack, it is so worth it and you do not have to decide!

To complete my first ‘official’ DRD look, I certainly had to dig in my DRD folder to find all the goodies, which I already own, like the “Sticker Stompers” and the super cool beer hat, which even is an actual group gift at the DRD main store.

The mega cool neck tattoo, which goes down from the back of the head, touches the chin and goes down the cleavage in a new release as well and was made by Eclipse Art studio for the Kinky event. Since we have BoM it is so cool that you can have seamless tattoos that go up to your head as well – I always loved the idea of that, when a tattoo not just stops at the neckline. Speaking already of new releases, we cannot forget the generous gift called “Take Over”, that Vegas Tattoo put out at UBER!

Most of the time I do make my own sets for my shoots, but this time I decided to just hop down on the sim, outside of our store, where I was allowed to create Bartertown, a neat little post apoc place. What could make a better scenery for such a cool casual look than something from DRD? I decorated Bartertown with a lot of DRD designs and the “Beer Stand – Collection” felt like the right choice. I am looking forward on my new adventure with the awesome and crazy DRD team – I can’t wait to see what will be their next release 😉

I guess I should refill my beer hat and go for some shopping for my next post 😉

It has so many great details amd the textures are just incredible amazing. You do not have to use the full set and can decorate something with all the single parts as well, but I just loved how the softlink version did look like. The pack contains 20 single parts and you can arrange them as you like as well if you do not want to use the pre-made linked version. I love that DRD always provides a soft-linked version for all their buildings and structures, which allows you still to re-arrange or you can built your own version with all the single parts.

Alone at Night…

And summer finally kicked in with all its damn heat… I hate it… I never liked summer but since the temperatures going up that high in Germany too it really sucks even more. I really cannot understand people who try to tell me, they start working way more effective and their brain brings peak performance is temperatures go over 86° Fahrenheit. My brain and body stops working when the thermometer reaches +68° Fahrenheit. What is nice when you just sit and do nothing and already sweat?!? Anyways… let’s take a look on todays pictures…

Today I have something really neat for you. I was aware that this does exist for years and saw it in action for a while, but I never tried myself – Premiere! I am talking about the ‘undress-me’ clothing from [I♥F]. I was mentioning already that I would like to showcase some of Aindara’s designs with that special feature 😉 I chose to start with an amazing combination of the “Leni” dress paired with the “Lina” bikini. Since I am not a huge summer and beach fan, I wanted to try something different and went for a more casual, urban style – kinda a Wicca Casual *winks*

So as you can see I tried to show at least 2 steps of the undress me possibility of the “Lina” set. But  let’s start from the beginning. The sheer “Leni” dress was made to be worn over the “Lina” bikini and it perfectly fits above that with every movement as you can see on the first picture. On the second picture I changed to step 2 of the “Lina” bra, which lets down the right side of the bra. Stage 3 would expose the whole chest and I was wearing that in picture 3, but I was too shy to push both of my boobies into your face and because the tattoo has such a great back… you can peek into the window as I tried to do a mirror effect very subtle *giggles*. Speaking of the tattoo… it is a new release from .:Vegas:., available at the Fetish Fair. I really love their tattoos, especially because you can choose different stages from light to dark and as well often you even have the choice of a colored or black & white version.

Marit is a sexy blend of military and diselpunk and is available now at the Whore Couture Fair. Marit is a top and shorts that can be worn together or separately. The top is a collared button up, but has a flesh baring cut out right above your bustline. The top is accentuated with studs and rings that indicate strength and sexiness. Me, myself and I

Recently I was asked, why you never do casual anymore? Are you only going to do scary and creepy pictures now? Are you going to give up your versatileness?

The simple answer is… NO!

But what I gave up is to let others dictate me what I am doing or how I am showcasing things on my blog *winks*

I am in Second Life nearly 13 years now and I tried a lot of things on my blog. When I started I thought I have to have as many posts a day as I can pump out on one day and that 7 days a week. I had times where I ran though 5 to 7 “posts” a day – Posts in terms of I do a quick snap shot and post a style card. That didn’t satisfy me after some time and I started to write something to every picture. First the facts about the clothing, like what kind of HUDs, how many colors or what special features they had. Later even a little bit of a review about what I liked most of the items and designs I was given to blog. Again I felt at some point that that wasn’t the only thing what I liked to do and I dared to write a little bit about things in SL that bothered me, or about certain topics to explain them better as I had a feeling they were misunderstood and underestimated a lot. That I still like to do and sometimes my blog even was a place to vent for me and write things just off my soul to get rid of them. In my view a blog has to be more than just a style card. If I just would like to have style cards nowadays, I would just blog on Flickr I guess. But since I usually need or want more than one picture to showcase my styling, to as well highlight the details, I decided to keep my blog and continue to write what comes to my mind or sometimes even just post lyrics and tunes if I feel like it or have nothing to say.

 

Today I really felt kinda casual, or better I felt like doing my way of casual styling. When I showed my look to a friend and said I felt casual, she laughed her ass of and said: “Yeah, maybe for you that would be casual… could you ever imagine to go out like that?” My answer was: “Oh yeah… I did that in my 20s”. she stopped talking and asked if I would be serious… yes, I am serious. I was a little rebel in my RL as well – probably I am still one, but my temper might be more adult now as it used to be *snickers*

So lets take a look at the style… I wanted to use the “Fianna” face tattoo from Nefekalum Tattoos, parts of the “Voodoo Dolls Backpack and Mouthdoll” gacha set and the brand new “Infernal Claws” from .:E.A.Studio:. , the “Pepper Ankle Boots” from [Gos] and the “Heavy Duty Collar” made by CerberusXing. So I put that all on and looked at it thinking how the hell I could make this work as a look that I would call casual…

Maybe lets take a closer look at the “basic” parts I just had put on and then go from there. The “Pepper Ankle Boots” from [Gos] are a perfect pair of shoes for many kind of genres you want to style for. You can wear them to jeans, skirts, dresses or even to lingerie. With the edgy tip of the shoes and the huge, heavy heel it is very versatile as it combines the smart with the elegant for me. With the possibility to choose from many leather colors as well as from metal, shiny colors it allowed a huge range of use.

The “Voodoo Doll Backpack” is part of a gacha from .:E.A.Studio:. it is one of the rares and comes with a huge HUD to customize it for different colors and outfits. It is designed to wear it over one shoulder with a little buckled strap. The “Infernal Claws ” you will find at the 3rd Edition of the Fetish Fair at the booth of .:E.A.Studio:. until the 27th of December. You can choose if you want to wear only the rings or the nails or the whole set of it. With the HUD you have the possibility to color the metals and leather, the claw itself on the middle finger, the rings and the you even can color and hide all the nails separate for each finger. An amazing set and a must have for every Gothic wardrobe!

The “Heavy Duty Collar” from CerberusXing lives up to its name. It is a heavy iron collar, which lays around your neck with an attached leash in the front. It really has a martial look but I do love the feeling when a heavy cold metal collar gets locked around my neck *grins wickedly*. The face tattoo, even better the Face art comes from Skye Nefekalum for his brand Nefekalum Tattoos. It is very special and for me it did support the martial look of the collar perfectly as it as well is very harsh and dark.

To me that makes a perfect “Wicca Casual” and even if I am aware of, that this might not be a casual for everyone… this is my blog, my Second Life,  my personal fun and creativity and the spot where I can be 100% me, myself and I *winks*

Todays post is filled with items from people I highly value, respect and I am happy to be able to call some of them friends as well 🙂

After I had a blast with creepy and unusual looks, I thought it would be time for a autumn casual one – not that I will give up on the other though!

First of all I would like to mention the backdrop. The “Atelier Baudelaire” backdrop again shows the incredible skills of Hattie Panacek. I rarely saw such amazing detailed and realistic textures, as you can see it on all of her creations. What I do love the most is that she not just does clean and tidy textures, she allows as well non perfect and dirty spots. To me that gives the designs even more life and realistic feelings – nothing is perfect in RL and if it is it looks like a display in a warehouse but not like a realistic “used” place. Especially if you have materials on, her designs will blow you away in a good way!

The “Atelier Baudelaire” backdrop is a huge loft looking backdrop with 2 sides. The right side you can see on my todays pictures. It shows the desk of an artist or designer while the left side shows the actual working place of an artist- soon I will showcase the other side as well, but that backdrop perfectly shows, that you can use it for more than just one picture if you just use the right angles and crops. I do like it a lot, when you can use a backdrop more than once. Often enough you only can use backdrops only once, as they will be recognized instantly again on your flickr or blog.

The amazing coat was made by Salt & Pepper for the UBER event. The coat can be worn with or without the turtleneck shirt and certainly you have a color HUD to mix and match the whole design to your likings. Certainly you can color the shirt and the coat separately. What I loved the most on that coat was the texture. All the tiny leather details and the lightly used look completely caught my attention.

The hair was made by no.match and it was released for the last round of Tres Chic, but I am sure you will find it at the main store by now. The hair is a more loose style with a huge hair band that brings the hair down the left shoulder to the front. To me it looked perfect, it did underline the loose look of the trench coat so nicely. I love the hair textures of no.match a lot and especially the blond pack has a blond tone that I completely fell in love with. I do like the fact as well that you have a so called “Essential” pack for nearly every hair style. Even if my personal favorite blonde is not included in that one, it gives you the possibility to have more than one color, even if you do not want to buy the whole fatpack. Sometimes I want more than just color, for different possibilities on pictures, but a full fatpack sometimes is too expensive for a hair style you just want to use for a picture 😉

But now I need to work on the picture for the left side of the amazing “Atelier Baudelaire”… I hope you enjoyed my first fall/winter post, even if it was a more casual looking one again 😉

Into the Underground – Composition can be frustrating sometimes!

Lately I got really frustrated about picture composition and why sometimes things work and if you try to do the same thing exactly as before it won’t work anymore.

Did you ever come across such as well?

You know you have the basic rules for picture composition down, you do as you learned over years how to align things and items and set your avatar in place and still you miss the “wow” on the picture? Then you start playing with lights and shadows, push around prims, add more lights and delete them again, change the angles and anyways what you do always looks ‘ok’ but not that you would like to work on the picture more?

This time I forced myself to work on all of the pictures, anyways if I do like it or not. The purpose was to do a Visionaire homework and I wanted to discover why I feel so different or see different things in pictures. As well to see if all the popular art rules would go over my personal liking in picture composition.

I adore people who know how to place things for sets, it looks so easy and consistent while there is so much thinking behind it.  I only can imagine how long you have to play ‘prim nudger’ until you have everything in place for a huge complete scenery. I only do little sets, with a few selected props usually and that already feels like it would take forever. I do not mean to feel like a whiney but I really pulled my hair over that the past weeks and if you have a solution, you are more than welcome to put it in the comments – I would highly appreciate that :).

Now, more about my todays look…

It was time fo contrasts again for me. I went for a black and red look and wanted to combine it with a blue/black background, that I was eying quite a while already and never had any ideas what I could do with it.

When I saw the “Maggie” pants from Salt & Pepper, I immediately fell in love with them. They do have an amazing color HUD as well, but when I saw the black and red I was sold :p

I just had to find a jacket, that goes with the whole idea and that I found in the “Bubble Crop Jacket” made by Sabotage. Since I do have an addiction for tattoos – I always had – The amazing blank belly was able to be tattooed with one of the amazing creations of White Widow.

With that strong styling and as well the contrast I chose by using a blue/black background to my red/black style, I needed a strong makeup, too. And yes – you can make a guess – it comes from Zibska :p It is not a secret how much I do love Zib Sgaggs designs and the more I am happy, that I can showcase another amazing Makeup/Lipstick combo named “Ventura”.

I enjoyed playing with artistic rules in mind like ‘Lines & Diagonals’, ‘Repetition or the ‘Rule of Thirds’. For some I even found the Fibonacci sequence applying – can you guess which ones?
