Happy Halloween!

Finally it is Halloween!

The much I was waiting for it to happen, the more I am sad that it already is there now… Do you know that feeling? You desire something and when it is there or when you get it you are a little bit sad too, because now you cannot enjoy the waiting time as much anymore? Kinda like Christmas *giggles* even if I do like Halloween much more than that :p

Thank god we have SL where we can have Halloween through the whole year*winks*, so I won’t stop doing scary and spooky pictures as long as the dark season feeling has me in its hand…

Today again I would like to drag your view on those amazing nails. If you read my past 2 posts you will realize I got a lot of amazing nails from FORMANAILS lately ;)I really enjoy the details and all the tiny decorations the nails and hand accessories from FORMANAILS do have. Fingernails are overlooked so often. We just take them as granted, as an accessory we just ad to have something on our hands and usually they are so tiny that they get lost on pictures… same as shoes. What gets overlooked very fast are poses too, I recently made a post about that too. I catch myself a lot of times, when I add accessories that do complete my look and just don’t think about them anymore when I write my post. I soon will have another pose study post, as well as a nail spotlight I guess 😉

For todays post I combined the “Buffalo” hand accessories and the “Stiletto” nails – I just love how they work together! Oh and before I forget to mention, even if I do use the Maitreya version only, there is versions for Vista and Slink hands as well 😉

What better background you could use for a witch post, than the “Magick Shoppe” from DRD. I adore their buildings like in forever and since they had that awesome Stein/Reanimator hunt going this month.. I again was teased so bad for that incredible piece of art and I had to use it for my picture.

The hair is a Halloween special as well with that awesome 2 colors. The full pack comes with 3 special Halloween colors! It was made by no.match and it is named “No.Look”. You can find it at the actual round of Enchantment, but I am sure after the event ends, you will find it at the main store.

And now it is time to take my broom and go for a night out… it is HALLOWEEN!

Cheeky Bunny

I do not know what it is, but something changed in the past month for me when it comes to taking pictures. I worry about a lot of things, I never thought about before, I do like playing with lights, projectors and “no light” or “low light” windlight settings. The less light you have around you, the more control you get about the lights around you. In the past I first chose my windlight and then added one or two lights or projectors – lately I do it the other way round. I first set up my lights and then look for a windlight, that supports my idea. In the beginning it felt weird to set up out of the darkness, but it becomes better with each try. As well I discovered different desires, which I would like to have for my pictures and so I started a few new “learning projects”. I watched a lot of tutorials, practiced a lot and learned many new things.

One project that started – I tried to start that, since my vacation had begun – was to paint hair. I do have a graphic tablet forever but besides using it for textures I never touched it for pictures, as my mouse felt so much better with that. But try to paint hair with your mouse.. even if you really think you can control your mouse perfectly, but things like the pen pressure, I only get with the tablet. I forced myself to play with it and watched many tutorials. Slowly it starts working, but it really needs a lot of practice and I am not yet ready to show it off  more than a few strands of hair 😉

To not loose my motivation, I started to play with some ready made hair strands and wisps as well as hair brushes for Photoshop, as those as well helped me a lot to understand the basic hair drawing. When I found the strands from Rayne Morgan, I was completely speechless. I rarely saw such a well drawn hair in all it’s details and if you are willing to credit her work, she even offers a few free downloads on her Deviantart site (https://www.deviantart.com/raynemorgan).

There I found some interesting ready made hair as well for instant use. I always had wondered, how some photographers were able to paint or photograph hair and have such amazing results on Flickr. When I saw the website of Rayne Morgan… I immediately did know how a few did that 😉

It is really breathtaking how that hair can change a Second Life picture like it did for the closeup above. You get the hair as a PSD file. You are able to color and as well warp it, until it matches your Second Life snapshot. I could not resist, to even work on that one by adding some more wisps and paint some little strands myself. It is not the end of my hair-paint experiences, as I really want to archive painting my own hair completely one day, but I wanted to share the progress and as well the way of keeping up my motivation to do so 🙂

Panic at the Zoo is the theme for this round of The Secret Affair. We let our inner fashion beast out with the Minerva Claws, a must-have statement piece of jewelry for your SL inventory! The Minerva Claws HUD gives you a wide array of options. Not only do you have 6 metal and 6 gemstone colors, you can choose which parts of the claws you want to show or hide. That includes all fingers parts, the connector on the hand and as well the bracelet. You also have the option to wear the claws only on one hand or on both hands, all via the HUD. The Minerva HUD provides so many options we had to make it a two-sided HUD! You can try out the Minerva Claws at the event, so you can get a taste of how versatile they are before you buy.

Roaming around in Wicca’s Wardrobe

Sometimes you are in a mood you can’t describe… it is a feeling you will not find any words for – neither good or bad.

One of those days it was when I was just wandering around in one of our latest releases for Wicca’s Wardrobe. It is those days when you do not feel inspired at all and everything you start seems to not work for what ever reason. Luckily I do not have such days too often :p . But when it happens, the best usually is to wander around, try some locations of the SL destination guide or go through my old landmarks and see if they are still there or if I can find some source of inspiration by just roaming around.

Some when my way brought me to Ironwood Hills, one of my favourite sims actually 🙂 . The creators of the sim change it frequently to a new design and look but always in a dark post apocalyptic theme with a horror touch, which I like a lot my self. This time I found a new layout again when I landed and I was very curious what I would find this time.

I landed in a warehouse with all kind of mannequins.. the dark version of those ;). then you make your way our through an abandoned looking town part before you enter a dark carnival fair it seems. You way leads you through a huge clown head… more specific, you have to walk over its tongue through its head. At the place after, you will find all kind of different things and I do not wanna tell too much as you really should see this place by your own and discover all the amazing and as well terrifying things there 😉 What caught my eye though was a huge Ferris Wheel, which reminded me about a thriller movie. There was one similar at Pripyat near Chernobyl, what made the whole trip over the sim even more exciting 😉 At the back side of the sim I found an abandoned Asylum with… no just see for yourself 😉

When I started my trip I was wearing the “Nimue” set, that we made for the still running round for We <3 RP. it was styled in a more medieval way as I was fooling around for vendor pics ni that look and  I just had put it back on. But the more I was wandering over the sim the more I wanted to do some pics and so I had to change the attitude of the outfit a little bit to match the scenery. I added the “Nacha Set”. The “Nascha Set” is our actual item for The Secret Affair. I changed the color of the outfit – the leather parts to black and some of the cloth parts to red –  and matched the accessories to it. For the shoes I just put the black version of the “Gypsy Boots” instead of the brown 😉

 Now I just needed some hair and makeup, which did fit more towards a post apocalyptic themed surrounding. The choice fell on the “Neva” hair, that I got as a special present longer ago and the “Fighter Eyeshadow”from Corvus paired with a red eyeshadow from L.Fauna. For the poses I just went through all kind of modeling poses, but for this special case it just felt wrong to pose as a model and so I started to look through my photo poses and found all kind of different ones, which just had a little bit more “movement” in them even if they were static ;).

Overall I had so much fun and actually found some inspiration to enjoy this trip and all the pictures. The more I tried the more pictures came out and I really had a hard time to choose the few for today. Again some loosely journey around did it to find something to work with without any special intention 😉

I really can just recommend pressure free time and looking around when you feel like I described it in the beginning. For me it always is the solution to not be depressed, that I again wasted a day without being productive in any kind 😉

LOTD 05/23/2016 – Spring Flower

Yes, me trying some pastel!

I know it is not that often, that I am wearing pink or even worse… pastel pink! But sometimes I am just in such a mood.

This time it was the “Georgia Corset” from Byrne that got me started on todays look.

Last week I had the pleasure to help hosting one of the fashion week shows of PENUMBRA and it turned out to be a show where Byrne showcased their amazing designs.

So certainly I wanted to wear something from Byrne and after trying different creations my choice fell on the “Georgia Corset”

The corset comes in  the 5 standard sizes. Mixing and matching meshes can be a pain in the ass so I put on a long time favourite of mine, the “Brit Pants” from LeeZu. They are layer clothing but  sometimes I really do still like that especially if the textures are so amazingly detailed and high quality.

The super cool shoes are made by Glamistry. The heels instantly caught my heart when i saw them and they reminded me somehow about the logo of ‘The devil wears Prada’. I have an addiction for such little details that you usually just see on the second view 😉

With the amazing huge HUD and all the color options I could easily match them to one of the colors in the corset.

Certainly this whole look called for a non usual hair color, which I found with the “Sophia” hair from EMO-tions. I LOVE short hairstyles and I was so happy, when I saw this super chic and cute hair style with the amazing flower on the right side of the head.

The colorful and pastel based look with the light pink hair called for a very subtile and light makeup for me and so I chose the “Lennie” eyeshadow, the “Vio No.1” lashes and the amazing “Winterberries” lipstick, all made by Zibska.

I just had to find a stunning spring looking place. That I found at “Devils Point”. An amazing little island, with the feeling of a nature loving british isle. So many amazing details and corners, not only great for pictures. Exploring is a lot of fun there as well as you will find so many little places and corners with different decoration and feelings… just wonderful!
