Steampunk with Dead Dollz & EMO-tions

Steampunk is one of my favourite fashion categories. I love the mechanical ideas, the colors and as well the Victorian touch of most of the styles and designs. Not everything might be steampunk looking first hand but with the right accessories some might be able to transform into it 😉

Today I took the fantastic “Octavia” ensemble, wich Dead Dollz released for the Fantasy Collective. The amazing outfit contains skirt, corset and the shoulderpart. The wonderful skirt has amazing ruffles in the back and the tight underbust corset has amazing fabrics and textures. The “Octavia” dress is available in 3 different colors and I chose the brown one for todays post.

To cover the chest I took one of my favourite bras, the “Bettie Bad Girl Bra” from Faster Pussycat.with the golden outlines it went so perfectly with the “Octavia” dress.

For the hair i took one of the newer releases from EMO-tions, called “Tanja”- Tanja is a sweet updo with some smart wisps and a longer front, perfect for the steam punk look 😉

To even more point out on the steam punk character of the look I decided to choose my accessories from Pixel Box. The incredible”Steampunk Multi Monocle” together with the “Steampunk Clock” set wich contains a necklace, earrings and the ring – the earrings I did not use for this post – was the perfect addition.

The”Bird Skull” hair accessory, made by LoQ is one of my favourite hair pieces 😉 and so I could not resist to add it today again as it looked so sweet together with the book, it gave a little science touch, which I really loved. Such things kinda happen when you just fool around with your headpiece folder to find something that matches your look :p .

Playing with Projectors and Lighs – Part I

A few days ago, I joined a class about blogging as I wanted to know if I can learn something new, as I am always looking for new thing I can discover and raise my horizon.

The class was amazing and at some point we came to the part of the pictures and how to take them and wich kind of pictures are for what situation. Usually you have more clean pics for blogging and castings and some more artistic pictures for a storytelling blog post or magazines.

We were talking about many of the very popular photographers in SL and as well about the difference of photographer and artists.

While a photographer usually just takes pics and does them tweak a little bit in one of the graphic programs, the artist takes a snapshot and you will not see the original snap anymore after the artist did the magic with the picture in his program by painting and editing a lot by hand. I would never go so far, to say one has less work or more work than the other, the amount of work might be the same, just it is in 2 totally different ways. While the artist has to be very familiar with his editing s program, his graphic tablet and his skills to paint and illustrate, the photographer needs to be familiar with the SL windlights, shadows, special angles and lights and maybe even with projectors or lighting tools. Both is a lot of work, I believe and it needs a lot of practice just it complete different ways.

I saw for a longer time , that many photographers work with a tool called lumipro. I remember great pics done with this special light tool and I always wanted one to try but, since it is not cheap and I work in so many different areas, I never got one.

But then… lately I was talking to a very long friend of mine a lot and helped her here and there if she wanted my opinion, as friends do usually. Out of the blue one day when I logged in I got a gift…

The crazy girl did know, that I was after the lumipro for quite some time and guess what… She gifted me a lumipro!!! I stormed her IMs telling her she would be crazy to make such expensive gifts and I was totally happy and crazy about. She was just calm, smiles and told me that would be her way to show me how much she appreciated my help. I told her, that I did not do that for any kind of gift, more just because of our friendship and that I never expected anything for that, but she insisted on that this would be her way and I better accept it.

OMG I have a lumipro!

The rest of the evening was just gone, with all the work I wanted to do and I totally lost myself in my new toy. I have to admit I have still no clue how it works properly and I will need to watch a lot of tutorials and ask around to really get used to this fantastic tool but I am more than willing to try!

For today I just played around with the presets and changed them lightly, to see what possibilities and features it has.

God this is a weapon if you know what you are doing with it!!!

I just placed myself in front of a white wall with my war turtle from [Swagga] and turned my windlight settings to midnight to see the full range of the light balls.

I was blown away what those 3 balls can do and I digged further into the user manual on the lumipro website to see what all those buttons of the HUD can do.

Then I found the projectors… holy cow! Now I know how some light settings were made on pictures that I loved so much!

The way to project lights behind you with different textures as filters, was something I totally had forgotten about since I started to play with windlights.

I do not know much at all yet to really use this fantastic photography tool properly, but I know that I will spend a lot of time in the future to be able to operate this HUD and bein able to use all its functions and features as this really is a lot of fun to play around with and that is the reason why I named this post ‘Part I’, because I am really sure about that this will not be the last post about my playing with lights and projectors 😉

But for now I have to finish as there is a lot of work left wich got delayed because of my new lumipro :p

Inspired by Tom Ford S/S 2015 – How I put my style together?

I have to admit the idea to make a Tom Ford inspired look came not out of my head. There was a casting a few days ago and they requested a 70s Glam style after the S/S Collection 2015 of Tom Ford.

So I made my homework and sat down with google and watched first the fashion show of that collection and the I asked google for some pictures out of that show.

I tried to figure out what were the main aspects of the whole collection. Besides many details I saw black, black and black, some straps, a lot of sheer materials, shoes with high platform heels. messy hair and smokey eyes paired with nude lips.

So far so good. Since I did not wanna copy any of those stylings to as well bring an aspect of myself to it.

I started with the sheer part. I went through my inventory to find something that does not cover up the whole body and as well would not totally hide under all the mesh clothing.

In the end, the “Brigitte Body Tights” from LeeZu were the choice after trying on several sheer parts of my inventory. I liked it cause the arms and the lower legs are left bare wich gives a lightly sexy touch wich I found as well in most of the Tom Ford show pictures.

Now… find something that really shows the sheer and does not cover it up totally…

Regular pants would just have hidden the sheer body suit. After trying several pants – short, capri, 3/4 – I remembered the pants of GizzA’s “Donatella” outfit. With only one leg and the belt holding the pants in place that was the exact piece that I wanted. To cover the private part I wanted to use something not super solid and I put on the “Romance Black” panties from [Magnolia In], wich sadly does not exist anymore.

The top should be something that catches the straps/wrap character and as well the 70s Glam part. I decided to go with the “TSADE / Body Cuff” from .Shi. It looked good and as well the way I wanted, but I was missing something still. I tried several bra, s and short top, but either they did not look good or they poked out under the Body Cuff. Since this was going to be a casting styling, there was no way to cheat with poking through prims :p

Finally I found the “Daleth” top, as well made by .Shi. With the golden ornaments and the shining black texture it was exact the right piece for the look.

I saw no jewelry on most of the pictures that I saw and with the golden decorations at the top it looked ok to me.

Messy hair… sounds like an easy task but after trying some of the hair I already had and a lot of demos, I figured I need a short hairstyle as everything else was either poking into the “Body Cuff” or the top *sighs*. I did not saw any short hair on the pictures I looked and nearly started all over with a nother idea, when I saw the “Nyja” hair from eXxEsS. It was not exactly what I was looking for but after trying and looking at it for some time I liked it more and more 🙂

For the finish I just needed some smokey eyes and a light lip gloss wich not put any color on my lips, just a little shine.

LOTD 01/27/2015 – Warm & Cozy

Today I was in a very cozy mood so I decided to dress up kinda comphy 😉

With the new “Ashly Leather Tunic” from GizzA and the new “Metallic Leggings” from Leezu, I exactly could match that mood. The “Metallic Leggings” are very comphy and still look tight and sexy. With the shiny metallic fabric they perfectly match the actual trend. The amazing folds at the ankles give a great realistic feeling. At the LeeZu main store you will find in 7 different colors and for this post I just picked the bronze ones to complement the brown of the top.

For the shoes I just made the new “Lydia” booties and all the brown golden colors inspired me to do a special new color palette for some new shoes all in a brownish, black and creme/white range. This colors for me totally go with the actual season and the trend.

The “Ashly Leather Tunic” you as well can purchase in several different colors and I am sure you will find the one that suits you at the GizzA main store.

The amazing bag that I put on the table as well comes from LeeZu and is called “Loret”. The bag you can get in several colors as well plus you can change the scarf that is hanging out with a HUD that comes with to different textures.

For the furniture I used one of my favourite sofa combination from LAQ Decor and the billboard on the wall was made by LeeZu again.

Holidays are over – Back to School with GizzA

The Christmas Holidays were so nice and as always way too short. This week was my first week at work again… Back to school for a new year.

2015 started very nice and I thought it was kinda funny that GizzA released the “‘Emily Dress” right in time for my first day at school again. Even if I am on the “other side” as a teacher… when I put on the “Emily Dress” I got a schoolgirl feeling 😉

The amazing dress comes in several colors of the amazing tartan. The white neck collar and the white wrists you have for all of them.

As it is still very cold I did not wanna go with bare legs and so I pulled out my “LaLun” Tights from Leezu. The sheer version just was perfect 😉

The shoes I chose because of the white socks that come together with the pants and just even more gave this school girl vive for me.

What can not be missing for a cute schoolgirl? Exactly the geek glasses :p. Mine are from Haysuriza. I chose the black frame and lenses of the 3 colors for each that are available on the HUD.

The earrings and the amazing long necklace was made by Mandala and my hair stylist for today was Tabata Jewell from Vanity Hair.

Fashionable Revolution with Faster Pussycat

Today I have again the great pleasure to showcase one of the newest releases of Faster Pussycat. Owner and Designer Honey Bender again outdid herself with a wonderful X-Mas/New Year Mini Collection. The X-Mas Fashio Riot contains 5 different outfits wich you s well can mix and match crossover. I decided to go with the “Le PETIT CADEU” outfit in tartan and added the “Huntress Buckled Gloves” and the “Rebel Antoinette ” shoes.

The “Le PETIT CADEU” outfit comes with a wonderful tight corset, the short skirt ruffles, the neck ribbon, the “Wabbity” mask and the sexy studded panties. As well you will find those amazing nipple shields and the incredible detailed “Anarchy” brooch in you box if you purchased the “Le PETIT CADEU” outfit.

The tartan fabric of the corset and the skirt together with the rebel attitude of the whole outfit and sa well the colors, immediately for me gave a UK punkish feeling.

The “Rebel Antoinette” shoes are made for the slink mid feet and with the brocade golden fabric they are the perfect addition for the outfit.

But like I mentioned before, this is only one outfit off the great Fashion Riot mini collection and to see all the other amazing outfits you can either make up your way to the Faster Pussycat main store to the second floor or wait till I have snapped all the other amazing outfits 😉

LOTD 12/02/204 – Escape the first snowflakes!

Today we had the first snowflakes falling down in Germany. When I was driving to the school I am teaching music and arts, I had the very first snowflakes kissed the front window of my car. Certainly they immediately melted when the reached the ground but still…SNOW!

When I came home today, I had the very strong feeling to post something AGAINST that snow issue :p

So I wanted to do something with some sunny colors and I remembered one of the creations SoliDea FoliEs for the Ferosh Magazine.

The “Orange Doll” was exactly what my soul desired after the snow shock this morning 😉

The white dress has a wonderful back print wich shows a female face with amazing orange accents.

To kinda bring back that feeling I added the “Elsepet ~ Orange” eyeshadow from Zibska.

For the hair I chose something I got from Miamai, what really caught my attention when I opened it.

The “Beatrice Headwrap” with the orange & black fabric just was the perfect addition to the dress. The modern hairstyle with the great headpiece really gave the whole outfit a sunny touch 😉

The awesome shoulder piece comes from EMO-tions. The “Romina” ensemble contains 2 parts. One necklace and one shoulder piece, which you as well can wear single.

I hope I could bring my sunny feeling over to you and I guess I now better put on my warm winter clothes before my pixels get a cold like I already got RL 😉

Wicca’s Wardrobe @ Couturier’s Docks in November 2014

Today it was a super cold autumn day and you nearly could smell the upcoming winter in Germany. That brought me back to one of my latest releases I did for Wicca’s Wardrobe.

I recently made this special dark steel-blue colored ensemble of the “Charlotte Jacket”, the “Anakri Pants” and the “Jane Heels” for the Couturier’s Docks November 2014. The event started on the 20th of November.

The special thing for this event is, that you will find several items, wich are exclusively made for this event. Only 50 copies are available for a discounted price and once they are gone.. they are gone 😉

The “Charlotte Jacket” is a very modern looking jacket with lots of zipper and a wonderful white short connected to it, that peeks out at the bottom and the top.

I know that I made the “Anakri Pants” already in other colors but to that jacket the modern look with the grey highlights, looked so much better than just a jeans 😉

The “Jane Heels” are new comers to my store in general, so I made one pair matching the whole look. I have one more pair of my popular “Locked Heels” at the event as well, since last time the shoes got sold out so fast and people asked me if I could not make other shoes matching the last outfit*giggles* So this time 2 different shoes are available 😉

Adventures with Miamai

Sometimes things fall together and you have not even a clue why…

Like it was today with my styling. I was fooling around with some stuff, because I wanted to see about a few unpacked folders I had not yet sorted in my inventory that I wanted to blog.

I started with the new Miamai items for We<3RP. Miamai made amazing accessories like the “Battle Fairy” breast plate and wings and the “War Queen Bug Crown”, wich I used to start my todays styling.

The wings and breast-plate come with a huge HUD to customize colors of the gems and the wings in many single parts and the “War Queen Bug Crown” is offered in 3 different colors as well.

So I had to find an outfit that goes with thoe fantastic accessories…

Miamai recently re-released a few of their most popular designs revamped for the new slink appliers. The “Suane” in black was a super basic to start with for today’s look.

For the pants I used the “Gale” pants from an outfit made by [AD] Creations. This huge wide pants with the amazing big horns and the sheer flexible prims that reach down from the hips just were the perfect match to the incredible “Battle Fairy” from Miamai.

For the shoes I used one of Baboom’s latest releases called “Dolores” in deep red. This amazing high heels have a wonderful little chain with a little rose decorating the heel and you can wear them with the Slink high feet.

Still there was missing something and I remembered the amazing hand jewelry, that Ivi made for one of the WEIB events. The awesome “Hand Bangle” was the perfect accessory and the “Stiletto Nails” as well from Formanails, which she has at the moment on WEIB just has the perfect color to go with the wings.

The “Dark Desire” collar I made my self for Wicca’s Wardrobe, so I just needed something extraordinary for the face. The fashion mask “Vagary Mistress” from Madrid Solo with the many tiny gems totally underlined the look I wanted to archive.

Now I just had to find a cool location to snap this as a normal environment would not value the look itself. I was roaming around and some when I came to the Spencer Art Museum and this looked to be the right place for today’s pictures.

Wicca’s Wardrobe – Our Second Original Mesh

Today I am very happy and proud as well…. First of all my RL goes better and better what really gets me more and more in a positive mood and second… I am able to show you the second original mesh item of Wicca’s Wardrobe.

Lately we started to learn Blender with help of some friends and after a lot of practice and try and error I am very, very proud to say we made our second orignal mesh the “Cybernetic Eye”

I have a mega favour on steam punk and cyber stuffs and so the idea of that “Cybernetic Eye” was not too far off my direction. The one who made it possible for Wicca’s Wardrobe is my RL & SL partner Redclaw Inshan. Cause he is the one who kinda defeated Blender :p

So he has to put up with strange and weird ideas of mine and helps me to make them become real… ok.. virtual real 😉 Sometimes he is loosing his mind and temper and sometimes he even adds more crazy ness to my ideas, or he comes with amazing ideas of himself.

I am really looking forward to what the future will bring with the possibility to now make things out of our imagination.

The rest of the whole look as well is made by Wicca’s Wardrobe. The whole ensemble at the moment is available at the Couturier’s Docks. This special aluminium black combination is limited to 50 pieces only for the jacket, the pants, the heels and the cybernetic eye in that particular colors.

From the “Cayla” jacket and the “Renraku” pants there are still a few left at Couturier’s Docks but the special color combination of the “Lorraine” heels already sold out. That’s why I made one more pair of heels wich go with this futuristic look – the “Locked Heels” in aluminium.

Those are available at the Wicca’s Wardrobe Mainstore and as well at the satellite store on SaliMar if you wanna grab them after you did your shopping at the Couturier’s Docks wich are located right around the corner of my satellite store 😉

There are only a few days left before the Couturier’s Docks close for the next round maybe you get lucky and get one of the last pieces of that cool look for yourself 😉
