Again I had the great pleasure to do a magazine feature for SL20. This time it was all about skins. I really was thinking hard what I could do since I am not a fan of nude pictures and mostly magazines are PG anyway.

So my idea was to give a little variety of different ages (no kids) and to have some different types and genres. In the end I ended up with an aged version of myself, a super cute 20s ranged girl and my myself together with my sweet sister Vivien.

The theme of the magazine was skins, so at least I wanted to show a lot of skin and less clothing than usual 😉

With Vivien I love to do erotic pictures as she always show so much taste and not gets porno like so many other poses do. I am not prude, but I never saw the need for myself, to do pornographic pictures especially not official magazine or Flickr pictures. It can cause problems with so many rules and TOS of various platforms, that feels mostly too much hassle as I do want my pictures to be seen – not saying I am judging such pictures, I just do not want to do them for myself 😉

To me it is always very special to do pictures with Vivien… I never did hide that and so some asked me, what would be so special. Let me try to explain that… Usually when I do pictures I am all on my own. That means, I have an idea (mostly, sometimes sadly not) and then I try to work on it kinda wearing blinkers not thinking or looking left or right. That can become quite boring after some time and I miss some kind of challenge and if I work like that for too long it can get boring sometimes. With Vivien it is always like a “challenge” as we both have ideas and either I have to fit into her idea or she into mine… OR we develop something together out of an idea of one of  us – if that makes sense. Furthermore we seem to have an “alike thinking” if it comes to showcasing items. There is not much talk needed between us, to adapt the otters look or focus on the right item or genre, which makes it so sweet and easy and we can focus on the pictures, poses, angles and windlight. We never had a fight over a style or accessories that are needed or not, nor we have to tell each other if something like hair or something else interferes with the pose – it just feels natural. I hope that made sense, like most of you know I am not an English speaking native 😉

Again I am coming to you with a wonderful memory of an amazing evening. A few days ago my sweet sister Vivien offered me to be part of one of her amazing, creative art shots. She asked me if I would have the new doll modifications from Salt & Pepper – certainly I do! She had built a wonderful set and had planned the shot for 5 people. It looked amazing and on her Flickr (HERE) you can see her amazing artwork of that picture. I tried to grab a shot too but it was one of those days where nothing wanted to razz and the more people you have the harder it goes. So I asked her if she would be ok with having  another shoot when she was done with just us 2 and lightly different poses. She said yes and did let me use the set she built too – Thank you for that Sis ♥♥♥.

It is so much fun to just do what you feel not running after deadlines only and it always feels like a little holiday for me when we work on some pictures together.

The whole theme looked very fragile and sweet and that is really easy for me as I am usually the dark and deep color lover, but it felt like a cool challenge and something new 😉

My new Creature

Today I come to you with my last picture for the “Electric Sheep” exhibition (HERE). For this picture, my last one, I wanted to have something with interaction, with soul and with imagination. I know that cyber is not so much Vivien’s cup of tea, but as well know she can make work everything and I do love to work with her a lot, especially if it comes to emotions and moods on pictures. She has a wonderful hand to create poses in a very certain way. I had the idea of “making my own creature” for this picture and already pictured me being in a pod, being that new creation of someone. When I was talking to Vivien about it she instantly jumped on that idea and helped me to finalize my idea and enrich it with her pose and her pixels as well. It always amazes me… when I ask her about a certain style, about a certain mood or look… it doesn’t need a lot of words and she quickly dresses up perfectly to the situation. Many know her as the dark, romantic Goth girl, but she has so many hidden talents in all kind of genres! It really is rare that you can communicate with people without talking too long. She just gets my ideas, my vibes and my mood so fast – it really is a pleasure to work with her and even more to call her friend or even sister. She really is the sister I never had. If you want to know what she is wearing – just ask her 😉

And again another premiere and it was so much fun that I am sure we will do that again…

Vivien and me both had to blog a poses form different pose makers and thought we could make a little series out of it. So since her picture was the first she took the first part of the evening and me, with the second picture, the second part a little later at night 😉

We are both CerberusXing addicts and so most of our clothing certainly comes from there for this picture. Vivien was so generous to offer her bedroom for the shootings, so if you want to know more about the single items or her look as well – just ask her if you dare 😉

I more and more enjoy doing pictures with a friend and with Vivien it is so… easy. We think a like a lot, we have a close sense of style, our skins cooperate just amazing and since we are both making poses it is as well easy to arrange pose balls and do minor adjustments if needed. Sometimes we just sit hours and think about what we could and sometimes it is done in a blink, if one of us had an idea already. I do enjoy both sides of it and it does help my own creativity a lot, if we just talk about picture concepts and ideas. We never did a 2 part series before but even that was so much fun, that I hope we can do that again!

Angels & Demons – Part 2

Angels & Demons

What would you choose? Who would you become? Would you rather be enchanted or consumed by Heaven or Hell, Light or Dark, Good or Evil, Love or Hate, or to be Blessed or Cursed. Angels and Demons are polar opposites of one another within many cultures and in fiction. On one hand, they are a form of symbology and on the other they are seen in religion, mythology, and fantasy. Magical and mystical beings that we will read find in books, movies,movies, TV, anime or plays from ancient to modern. Even within the confines of real life and Second Life, we will roleplay and become one of them.

Despite the difference in abilities and the cultural milieu they come from, they share some similarities, such as, hierarchical ranks, miraculous or magical powers, and the enmities and friendships with each other and with mortals. Though Angels and Demons are often in a never-ending battle to defeat the other, in that chaos comes a little spark: opposites, suddenly attracted to or obsessed  with each other. Will they escape and find peace or be consumed by their conflict?

Their appearances can differ, both taking on ugly, distorted, fear-inducing manifestations, or transforming into beautiful, ethereal and alluring personas. Angels usually are depicted with long, modest, feather-like flowing garments, while a Demons attire is often tight, conforming to every curve or their form making it matter little how much or how little clothing they wear.. Although in the more modern age and flight of fantasy, anything goes, the color palettes don’t often change. Angels decorated in white and softened colors and pastels signifying purity and innocence, guiding you on your travels, while the Demons adorn black and deep, rich colors, warning you to watch where you tread, but do you want to? Will they draw you into the darkness forever lost in their grasp.

Finally RL gives me enough room to write a post I wanted to do for weeks now. It will be a premiere, because it will be the first post without any credits, but the topic  as well as the person are value a lot to me and so I wanted to do that without any fashion details.

This picture is a very special picture to me as it is the first picture of Vivien and me, done by her! I wanted a picture done by her for quite some time as I adore her picture and pose skills, but let me start like around a year back I guess it was, when I spotted her work the first time on Flickr…

When I saw her art the first time I immediately loved it and I remember how much I was pondering, if we even should contact her, as I thought she most likely must have been overwhelmed with sponsors already. But Silly contacted her never the less and when I heard that Vivien would be interested I thought I am dreaming. When I heard that she doesn’t even have that much sponsors yet I was more than surprised… how that was possible with the amazing pictures and showcases she did?!?

I was so happy when she agreed to be added to our blogger team. What I not yet did know how fast and conscientious she is with her blogging. She is so fast and creative… I am always amazed how she can have 2 or more pictures per day in that high quality and with so many different ideas. Certainly we started talking some when and figured out that we both are Germans. That made communication even easier and the more we typed and talked the more we found out that we have many commonalities about blogging and as well about general thoughts and views.

Then there was a point when Silly wanted to step back a bit from her blogger manager duties and asked if I would know someone who would like to take over… in the moment she asked It felt like loosing a sister and I had no clue who could take over. Silly was with us since the very beginning and when she said that I could not even think about someone who could take over. But Silly calmed me down saying she would not be gone as a friend anyway and as well not as a senior blogger manager either. She offered to help with the transition and still be there for the ones who do not speak German or English or if she is needed. That set my head free, to think about, who could potentially be her successor. As soon as I could think straight, it felt so natural to ask Vivien. We shared our visions about blogging, bloggers and how to treat sponsors and they were a lot alike.

When I asked her she told me that she would have no experiences, but she loves challenges and she would like to try it… Said and done! So she took over a few month ago and she does a hell of a job. More than I ever would have expected especially since she said she never did that before. Sometimes I even get scared how fast she is so that I really have to tr hard to catch up if I don’t want to miss one of  the wonderful pictures of your amazing team! She asks me stuff I didn’t even yet realize and it feels really awesome, how she takes care of the whole machine 😉

How did Beu mention today when I told her how happy I am with Vivien.. “Better chain her to the pipes at the basement” – I am not sure if I want her at the basement… but if she enjoys chains.. who knows *grins*

That brought us even more together than before and Vivien feels like a sister in crime to me. When I finally dared to ask her, about a picture giving her full reigns about what she would like to do. she made that incredible wonderful picture above. It already was a while ago and I really felt bad to not yet being able to post it as I didn’t want her to think I do not like it – I really love it and it does mean a lot to me that she took her time and patience to create that wonderful piece of art. But I didn’t just want to rush it through!

Since I posted about disappointment a few days ago and that we never should trust people at all anymore – Vivien is one of the examples why we should trust people even if we do not know them for along time. If I would have no trusted her, wee would have never had the awesome times we shared and I never would have been able to know her as close as she feels to me now.

That as well brought me to the idea to have a little series about those, who became family to me over the time. To show them how much I do appreciate them and how much they mean to me 🙂

Sometimes you meet people and after a short while you get the feeling you know them since forever…

While I was styling I showed the style to Vivien and she seemed to like it so I asked her if she would not want do join in the picture. In seconds she had a matching style and we started to have fun quite a while. I already had done my pose and it was awesome to see how fast she arranged herself around and between me to make her fit into the scene. I anyway love her creativity when it comes to making poses. My head is always so stuffed, that I rarely be able to really make my own poses. But since I saw her working, Í found my way slowly back into that, too – and I really enjoy it again – nevertheless I always love when Vivian does her magic and so for the closeup I again could not resist to ask her, if she would like to make a pose again and she did another kick ass, cool one 😉

I have a feeling that won’t be our last collaboration, since we seem a pretty productive and creative team for that – plus, I hae to admit I immensely enjoy the time working with her. We have so much fun and it is a complete different journey that just doing pictures on my own. It does trigger other parts of my creativity and it as well challenges me to break my usual Photoshop routine, having a second person with a complete different skin and shape as my normal workflow and techniques apply differently on her avatar 🙂
