Chop Zuey: Art in Second Life ;)

The idea for this post was born when I visited the Arts in Hats event, that was happening not too long ago. Belle Roussel, owner and designer of Chop Zuey, made the wonderful “In Memory of a Watermelon Fascinator” for that event and from the moment I saw it, I had the imagination of being in a museum watching art.

The wonderful “La Traviata” gown as well is one of the newest creations of Chop Zuey. Belle started to make full gowns with matching jewelry parts not too long ago and opened her new Sky Boutique, where you can find all this amazing creations. The “La Traviata” gown is available in different colors but with my addiction to black clothing, I certainly picked the black version for the post 😉 The wonderful black gown is mesh made and the amazing jewelry parts, like the upper end of the gloves, the beautiful shoulder part, as well the earrings, bracelets and the necklace are part of the gown. Basically Belle made a ready to wear outfit for all lovers of the elegant evening wardrobe ;).

The hat is one of the amazing creations of Xenobia Foxclaw. She made an amazing collection of black and white hats and the “Blackwell No. 6” is just one of them. So you might wanna go over to the Xen’s Hats Mainstore if you wanna see ll of the new releases ;).

The hair is one of the amazing hairstyles of EMO-tions. The “Chevia” hairstyle was made in a special color for Miss Chevia, as she won the auction of the FFL event, where Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions, auctioned herself off for charity. I am very happy that Mirja now gave this hairstyle to all of us as, it is an amazing elegant hairstyle that still has some edges 😉

Now I just had to try building a little to realize my imagination of the museum at night thing 🙂 . Those who know me, might figure what it took until I had those few prims together and some texture on it. Usually if I try to build you have something apocalyptic looking something where you really have to have a good imagination to figure out what I wanted to do originally *laughs*. But after some hours it worked out somehow and … tatataaaaa… here it is 🙂

Love for Donna Flora – GizzA for Squinternet Larnia

For the first picture, the credits go out to Falbala Fairey. She asked if I would have blogged the “Yeriak” gown already, the one Giz Seorn, owner and designer of GizzA, made for he Love for Donna Flora event. She wanted to do a special picture together with another new release from GizzA, in a way of good versus evil. As usual I get asked to do the evil part I was wondering, why she asked me for the “Yeriak” gown… as I arrived I saw Falli in the new “Thorn Dress” and I did understand… Today she gets to be the evil and me the good one! I would like to thank Falli for that amazing picture. Let’s take a closer look on the “Yeriak” dress. The amazing corset shows, how much love for the detail Giz puts into her designs. The filigree and delicate lace that covers the waist and the wonderful opaque colored texture, that is placed on the chest make a perfect combination for this playful, vintage touched outfit. The gloves bring back the theme of the corset and the huge headpiece with the awesome sheer and flexible parts that are repeated in the skirt as well. The huge flowers that decorate the waist and as well the hat add a huge ‘eye catcher factor’ and together with the stockings and the garters it makes a perfect vintage touched outfit. The whole ensemble is a perfect contribution to the Love for Donna Flora event as it kinda is a tribute as well to Squinternet Larnia, the queen of the vintage look 😉

Wicca’s Wardrobe: How to not get broke?!?

Shoes Fair… Hair Fair… Sales… lately it is not really easy to not get broke*laughs*

Today I would like to show you a mixture of all of those amazing events 😉

Maitreya had a huge sale going on for their 3rd anniversary and I did not wanna miss that one. Just imagine all the amazing clothes, hair and shoes for up to 50% off.. unbeliveable! I was shopping like mad and it would really let a single post explode, so I decided to go one by one 😉 For today I chose the “Leather Skinny Pants” in pearl. What I liked a lot, are the zippers that are on the upper thigh and the amazing shadow and light arangment that give those mesh pants an amzing realistic look.

The top comes from House of Fox. It was one of the Colabor88 contributions and I loved the puffy sleeves and the simplicity of the whole top.

The “Kelsey” shoes are one of thge exlusive contributions of Latreia, for the Shoe Fair 2013. What really caught my eyes was the awesome way that the shoes were textured. The muted black basic and the wonderful and destiled skin of the bare feet. The heels as well are something special andnot the usual shape that you find all over the grid. So

The hair is one of the lastest releases from EMO-tions for the Hair Fair 2013, where 30% of all the sells goes to the Wigs for Kids charity. The cool “Sidney” hair style totally is something that fity my style. The smart wisps that go down int o the face and the shaved sides that even have ornamnts in them.

The jewelry is one of the lastes releases of Finesmith. The “Lika” set normally comes with a dress called “Fakaza” and it was available st the Gypset Market.

The amazing nailpolish, that goes s wonderful withthe SLINK enhancment hands comes from Silken Moon. Malicia Python, owner and designer of Silken Moon, spent half of the last week to make nearly 100 new nail polishes for the SLINK mesh hands! From colorful to muted, from wild to sweet and some very special ones with extravagant ornaments on them. I used for this post the tartan nails. Who ever is so crazy and makes a tartan lookng nailpolish in several colors? Mal does… and she made, beside s huge color pack that contains all colors you just can imagine, some very neat and fun looking nails 😉

So with all that great news and events going on… you tell me how you can be safe from getting broke?!?

Wicca’s Wardrobe: How I put my looks together? Sometimes I do not even know by myself ;)

Sometimes I get asked how I start styling and if I could describe what I do. For the usual fashion stylings I can at least try to explain what I do one after another as you usually follow certain rules when you put a look together that you got asked for. Sometimes you follow the standard color schemes or you style after an RL look that you saw somewhere, or you use some other source of inspiration. But there is days, at least for me, where I do not have anything requested and start going through my inventory. Sometimes I get stuck with an item, an accessory, and wanna turn this in a whole look. But when I try to go by the first idea, that this detail gave me, I get stuck and do not really know what I can do to complete it, without looking boring or stereotype with so many others that were wearing that item before. And who wants to see the same item over and over again in the same way?

For today it ws the “Hunter Headdress” headpiece from XtraX, that caught my attention. I found it longer ago on the “I <3 RP” event. I was looking for horns as the “Hunters Headdress” fell into my hands. I could not resist to buy it, even if I had no idea yet what I am going to use it for. Sometimes things have to rest in your inventory for a while like a good bottle of red wine before you have the perfect idea how you wanna use it :p .

I was sorting my inventory as I came across the headpiece and I just put it on to see how it fits as it part wise mesh. Then I stood there at my studio – naked, only wearing that headpiece and tried to imagine a styling. If I would have used my first idea I would have tried some fantasy looking, but I kinda wanted to have something more realistic. The “Hunters Headdress” headpiece combines so many different fabrics and items, the leather, the suede parts, the horns and the little accessories on the horns. I remembered an old Benetton advertise campaign and this idea kinda got stuck in my head. United Colors of Benetton always had chic casual clothing. So I looked through a few of my last folders I got for blogging and found the “Brandy” mesh dress from PurpleMoon. The colors were perfect matching the headpiece.

Since I did not want to go too sexy, I added some leggings as I like the way how short dresses or hot-pants go together with leggings or tights. Maybe that’s something I still carry with me from the 80’s :p . For the shoes I had some boots in mind, that I had for a long time, a time where mesh was not yet on the grid and those sculpties was one of the first and best ones I saw, when it came to realistic looking shoes. I did know, that they were from Hoorenbeek, but I could not recall the name of them. Since I had an addiction to this brand for quiet some time, I do not have just one pair and so I started looking through my Hoorenbeek shoe folder. Finally I found the “Lucille” boots in the tan/beige color. The brown and creme tone was a wonderful match in my opinion. With the mask there is no need to look for hair, makeup or earrings so I just wanted to ad some bracelets and maybe a necklace. For the necklace I recalled the last releases from EMO-tions back to my mind. There was a new mesh necklace from Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions, that should match the look. A not too elegant but excellent made long modern necklace called “Precious”, in the colors green, brown and silver parts in different shapes.

When I looked at the result I really was not sure what it should be and how I can orchestrate this for a picture. That does not mean I did not like it but with such a controverse look, I needed something strong, lightly dark and kinda grunge looking. I saw such a place not too long ago and looked through my ‘Photo Places’ folder, till I found it again – “Old New York“

For the right poses I first wanted to make some, but then I remebered some of my Del May poses that should be perfect for this. Powerful, different and expressive, so why make poses when you aready have wonderful ones that perfectly fit 🙂 ?

Daily Dose of Legal Insanity

Today I would like to show a dress, that I own for quite some time now, but I never made it to style it and post it. You know how that goes, if you run after all your blogger reviews and never find the time to blog something you bought somewhen 😉 So I took some time the last 2 days and finished the style and post finally 😉

The “Vague” dress from Legal Insanity was part of the RFL 2013 Fashion Fair. I got it in 2 different colors, black & white and something kinda orange & brown. For today I chose the black & white version. The texture looks very simple on the first view but if you take a closer look you can see, how amazing the white-grey looking suede parts are stitched on. The whole mini dress is mesh made and comes in different standard sizes, so that you can make sure it fits even your avatar.

A hair store, that my focus fell on lately is Miss C. They have some really neat and cool looking new hair. The “Xenia II” hairstyle with the cute curls in the front and the amazing hat, that let you change the textures by a menu just took my heart by storm ;). The bag is a super old one from LeLutka, but just because it is old it does not mean that it cannot be great… many older things that I have in my wardrobe are still wearable and uptodate. Many times we just forget that we have them 😉

The shoes are from J’s, a shoe store that I follow for quite a long time. I still remember they had the first wedged sandals with toe prims long before bare feet even were on the SL horizon 🙂 The new “Studded Long Boots” are mesh made as well and if you decide to go for the fatpack you get 5 amazing colors in different standard mesh sizes for male and female.

The necklace I took out of a new mesh jewelry set from EMO-tions called “Orion”. Usually you have a pair of matching earrings to go with the necklace but since I wanted to use the Mandala mesh ears with the tubes I decided to only wear the necklace.

Since I made it to one of my trademarks to have a skin without any eyebrows, I have to work a bot more with makeups and as well with eyebrow tattoos, if I wanna wear a darker color of hair.

The idea for the look without eyebrows, came during a shooting that I had with MaliciaPython, owner and designer of Silken Moon, for her new skin line and as well I found a few ladies out if the 70s and 80s, singers and artists, that had no eyebrows like the Italian singer Mina Cerca. All those ladies have something special and with the new canvas skin from Silken Moon it was easy to try that out. After several month of trying I have to admit I like that look and so I decided to go without any eyebrows at all. The only problem I found was, if I wanted to wear black or dark hair. Because then the no-eyebrows look became a weird touch. But how I could work that out? I did not wanna go with just eyebrow tattoos and again add me some usual eyebrows… Again it was Malicia that gave the push towards something I really liked. Why not make eyebrows that look like painted and unnatural and use them if needed. That was a great idea and to help at the beginning she made 2 sets of amazing eyebrow tattoos in that way 🙂

The Runway Perfect Hunt #4 – Part 11

The Runway Perfect Hunt goes in it’s 4th round . Morgane Batista again made it, to get amazing designers to participate in one of the most famous hunts on the grid. Even if the title says “The hunt with models in mind” does not mean this hunt is limited to models only. All the amazing and versatile designs are amazing additions to everybody’s wardrobe, even the males will find some amazing hunt prizes in some locations This year the hunt is not a total freebie hunt, each hunt item costs $5 Linden. With a total of 50 shops you reach a maximum of $250 Linden, what is a great amount for so many amazing quality designs!

Till Friday TRPH #4 does last, then all the amazing items will be gone… So I will use the chance for my final post about this amazing hunt.

My final styling is based on the amazing contribution of Ezura to the Runway Perfect Hunt. Ezura made the beautiful “Velvet Long Gown” in dark brocade green. The basic dress is mesh made and you have a wonderful optional flexible skirt attachment as well. For this post, I decided to go without to show the basic mesh prim a bit better, basically you get 2 gowns in one 😉 The shoulder free gown is perfect for a formal or elegant attire. With the free shoulders it lets room for amazing jewelry.

Speaking of jewelry, I would like to drag your attention over to the earrings. Pure Poison made a wonderful pair of earrings for the hunt. The silver earrings with the black gems made a perfect accessory for the “Velvet Long Gown”.

For the hair I decided to go with the “Chevia” hair from EMO-tions to underline the elegant look of the styling.

The Runway Perfect Hunt #4 – Part 9

After being absent because of RL, I would like to show some more of the wonderful Runway Perfect Hunt items before the hunt is over.

The amazing “Brocade” dress, is the contribution of 22769 to the 4th edition of the TRPH. A wonderful once piece mesh dress in red and black. The skirt is made plain black what makes the brocade texture of the red jacket even more shine. The wonderful makeup comes from Dulce Secrets and is as well one of the awesome hunt items. Dulce Secrets provides not only the makeup, as well they have a wonderful skin in different versions in their TRPH #4 box.

The super cool ankle boots I found at the Gothic Fair 2013. Blinesen + MaiTai made the wonderful “Diavola” ankle boots with that unusual shape. The basic black victorian looking base with the amazing buckle, was combined with the red parts that look like little flames round your ankles.

The Cool and lightly messy looking “Carla” hair from EMO-tions was just perfect for the look and with the “Lost” necklace, as well from EMO-tions, I found the perfect matching jewelry as well 🙂

Now I was looking at myself and still I missed something… a hat, yes a hat would be awesome. I searched through all my inventory but I did not have one single red hat that would match to the outfit. All of a sudden I remembered about one of my oldest friends… she was designing hats! I stormed into Xenobia Foxclaw’s IM like a hurricane and started crying about me looking for a deep/blood red hat with maybe something black on it. Xen knows me for quite some time now and she knows my weird moments as well, so she just laughed and said I should wait a few minutes she would look through her creations. A few seconds later 3 different mesh hats made their way into my inventory and the “Dewey” hat in red suede was the perfect addition to the styling. Thanks so much Xen for again saving my day 😉

The Runway Perfect Hunt #4 – Part 8

After being absent because of RL, I would like to show some more of the wonderful Runway Perfect Hunt items before the hunt is over.

My today’s focus would be the Mainstore of Bubble’s Design. Bubble made a wonderful dress for the hunt. The “Poems” dress is something super special. A sheer top that carry a wonderful poem on the front

“I’m by your side,
thinking you, walking you
I’m in your thoughts,
knowing that I am in you
I am for you,
to serve you and make you dream
‘m into you…”

and another one on the back

“I thought of you,
on your lips and desire,
in your eyes and silence,
in your skin and feelings,
and have decided that you want,
but neither thought I needed …”

The skirt is very flexible and it looks like it would have many parts that go down from the waist. For me the dress really was something special in the whole TRPH #4.

The beautiful makeup as well is part of TRPH #4. You will find the “Tresor” makeup at White Widow, the amazing store done my the photographer legend Julie Hastings. As much as she puts into her pictures she puts into her own creations like the “Tresor” makeup for the hunt. You will not only find the black and white version in the hunt item 😉 so hurry to see what else Julie put onto her TRPH #4 box 😉

The huge “Lovelyn” hair, that for me totally goes with the “Poems” dress, comes from EMO-tions. The “Dawn” necklace as well was made by the hand of Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions.

Ascension

Explore the seven levels of the Ascension tower and lose yourself in a mysterious world where musical notes appear from under your feet, robotic bumblebees hover close by and particles shimmer in the alien atmosphere.

Create your own music alone or with friends by jumping on the glowing sound pads and solve riddles under the illuminated eyes of the mantis sphinx!

Sound is important to the Ascension experience, so make sure your local sounds are on and walk through the whole sim to discover mystical places and secret trails.

Created by Mantis Oh (Cari Lekebusch in RL) you can also look forward to a schedule of Techno music events and DJ sets from RL record label H-Productions.

It’s time to ascend…

With this words I made my way to the Ascension sim, that was buited on LEA 16 by Mantis Oh. Mantis Oh is well known for futuristic environments and objects in SL. “Ascension is a fun and immersive experience that can only be found in virtual worlds. It is a build based on the intuition and actions of each individual visitor and encourages collective consciousness and social interaction through a range of sound displays, visuals and futuristic objects.”, the official press release says and I have to say, I was not dissapointed after I explored the sim, looked tried all of the great installations and saw all this amazing buildings. The Ascension sim is really worth a trip. Do not wait too long as it will be only available till the end of May.

That was not all as Persia told me, that he not only builted that amazing sims and arranged all that great DJ events, Mantis Oh as well creates prefab homes and … what really caught my attention, he creates wonderful futuristic acessories. The “MartialArts Armguards”, the “Martial Arts Waistguard”and the “Third Eye Tiara” headpiece are made by Mantis Oh, owner and creator of Hybrid Productions. All of his pieces are incredible detailed and you can only imagine how long Mantis sit and worked on them. The belt with the ornaments and the to little bags where you can put bottles or what ever in are as well great for a fantastic roleplay 😉 But for me it is a wonderful fashion accessory, as O really love to experiment with futuristic ideas ;). The “Third Eye Tiara” reminded me of the ‘Visor’ of Lieutenant Commander Georgdi Laforge of the Star Trek – The next generation movies and so it was clear I had to do a post about something futuristic 😉 The armparts and the belt as well have little glowing effects, that are not static. There is many more awesome creations of Mantis Oh at the Hybrid Productions Mainstore and I am sure this is not my last post about them 😉

I thought for a longertime about a cool styling for the “Outland” from [sys], that is sold at the 100 Block event. The cool blue & black pants outfit perfectly goes together with the acessories from Hybrid Productions. The top has a very sexy touch at it looks like it would be sheet while it is totally opaque. The pants are mesh made and very modern with the loose style. The “Vouge” shoes are as well from [sys] and made the perfect addition to the whole look.

So I only had to find the right jewelry and hair. For the jewelry I remembered that Sora Tatham, one of the genius designers of Gabriel, gave me a wonderful mesh set. She said the “Curb Chain” set would be her first try for mesh jewelry and I was totally amazed as I put it on. The jewelry comes with a HUD that lets you chnage the texture of the jewelry to 3 different colors. The hair comes from EMO-tions. I loved the way how the mohawk looks lightly ‘messy’ at the ends and the wonderful made braids that are covering the head. A nice mixture of different hairstyles together on one 😉

So… it’s time to ascend… 😉

Today I would like to drag the spotlight over to GizzA. GizzA made an amazing half mesh/half prims gown for the hunt. The wonderful turquoise and white, tight gown fawns dreamy around the fashionistas shape. The top is shoulder free and lets a lot of free room for awesome jewelry. In my case for the “Foliole” set of Finesmith. The special color of this set was one on the OGlam specials in the past but this kind of red together with the incredible teal gem matched “The Runway Perfect Hunt” gown from GizzA. For the hairstyle I chose one of the new EMO-tions hairstyles called “Sessie”. The huge bun paired with the loosely wisps just made the dreamy look complete 😉
