Wicca’s Wardrobe: The Steampunk Crow

I know that crows are usually black, but as iIwas styling, I wanted to do someting in a brown/nude tone for the HAUTE Magazine (http://hautesl.com/latest-issue/)

The quote out of the movie “The Crow” still was in my mind all the time when I was styling.  I like dark fantasy novels and movies and so many of my stylings have some of those in the back, even if I do not always name them or tell about it.

For this styling I started with the “XXX” dress from LWL. I had it for a longer time but never something came to my mind what I could do with it. With the theme of the minimal colors for the HAUTE Magazine the brown tone matched amazing and I paired the crow theme with some steampunk elements like the boots from Grim Bros and the helmet from Diram. The amazing wings were a gift from Reclaw Inshan, former designer of R.A.D. Together with the leggings from LeeZu and the jewelry from Chop Zuey, the fantasy idea came to live. Silken Moon – Eclipse Urban

Over the last week, Malicia Python, owner and designer of Silken Moon, and me had a lot of fun working on new vendor pictures for her store.

For some strange reason, SL did not let Malicia shoot clean snapshots and so I said, I could do the snaps. The artwork and putting all of those together, Malicia with her incredible Photoshop knowledge, was the way better idea 😉 I really enjoyed the time we spend on all those stylings and snapshots.

It was really challenging to style the different looks of the new “Eclipse” line. The first one was the “Urban Look”. Each look has something special and its own makeup color theme. For the “Urban” look I decided to go with the “Urban Asphalt” lips and a combination of the “Urban ES Harbour”, the “Soft Eye Sky” and the “Color Eye Silver” eye makeup from the new Eclipse line. If you take a close look you can see the love for the detail, that Malicia puts in each of her skins – like the right eyebrow is lightly shaved in a very cool way 😉

For the look, Malicia wanted something urban, grunge casual. The tank top from Maitreya together with the  jacket from AOHAROU and jeans from Phoenix Rising made a smart cool look. The “Douche” hair and the mesh boots from Dirty Lynx made the perfect finish for the whole look.

For this pics we used the bisque tone of the skin, but on the vendor picture at the end of this post you can see all the amazing tones and the special colored version as well.

Wicca’s Wardrobe: Black Magic Butterflies

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young witch, she practiced white magic and tried to do good to all the creature that sought her help. When she became the age of marrying she was courted by three handsome young men, a count who promised her power if she helped his county to prosper,  a rich man who promised her wealth if she saw to his business with her skills and a wizard who promised her everything and asked for nothing.

Whom would you have taken? The wizard, right? Well that’s what the young witch did,  and soon regretted. He wanted her powers to make them the most powerful magicians that ever lived. She did not yield to the temptations of dark magic, but the disappointment made her magic turn darker. And she left.

So she went to see the rich merchant, but he was a vain man and grudged her choosing the wizard first. The count acted just the same. Bitter with the rejection her magic went almost black. But it was not in her to do harm and punish the men that hurt her.

She looked around and saw that the county was a really beautiful place, and a pretty butterfly even made her smile. So she decided to try to live a happy life on her own. Going far away. And the butterflies followed her, they did not want to live with the count, the rich merchant and the wizard. Ever since, there was not one butterfly to be seen in the county.

Wicca’s Wardrobe: Winter Dreams

This week we had a nother wave of snow in germany and I was grumbling a lot for having the black card of being the one who had to clean the pavement in front of my house from the snow. So I thought I can try to get a better mood for snow, when I make some dreamy winter mood images in SL 😉

I started with the “Carley” gown from Miamai. The long shoulder free gown was perfect as a basic for the little winter beauty. For the even more elegant touch I added the bolero of the new “Riga” outfit from SoliDea FoliEs.

The hair is one of the latest releases from EMO-tions called “Solitude” and for the jewelry I decided to go with the “Nur” set from Finesmith.

The makeup comes from a lady I know for a long time and she came back to SL with her new brand – The Makeup Artist. I am talking about Talyia Tarber. I combined the “Angelic Lace Candy” with the “Black Female Swan” and added my favourite lipstick from Silken Moon, “Wicca Lips Lead”.

For snapping the pics I remembered a place where Natzuka brought me once for a shoot The wonderful ambience of the alirium sim, with the pink colors and the snow just made the illusion of a winder dream complete for me 🙂

The Proud Butterfly

Once, a beautiful, shiny and colourful butterfly was flitting from one flower to another. She saw a baby elephant coming down the path. She flew to him and sat on his ear. The elephant asked, “Who are you? Where are you going?”

The butterfly proudly replied, “I am the most beautiful of all the butterflies. You are ugly and fat. Your body is heavy while I am delicate and light. People are jealous of my colourful wings. I can fly anywhere with these wings.”

The elephant calmly said, “I am glad to meet you.”

The butterfly went on, “There is no comparison between us. You have four legs but I have six. You have a trunk and I have something like that too but I use it to suck nectar from the flowers. You cannot do that.” Just then a strong wind blew and the butterfly could not keep her balance. She cried for help as she was flown away in the wind. But the elephant stood firmly on ground and thought, “I can see how pride has a fall.”

Mow - Wicca & Lovely Full

Not too long ago, my sweet little brother Dahriel sent me to a nice little shop called ‘M.o.w.‘, telling me I would find some super cool casual clothing there. I made my way over and I have to admit he was right. While I was roaming through the store, I had a nice talk with the owner and designer medusa Back. She seems to be a real nice and kind lady and we came across blogging. I got some amazing creations and after sometime I returned home and unpacked all the awesome goodies. While I was styling, Lovely Imed me and asked if she can visit me for some talking. I never can say no to her, she is simply too cute and so I TPed her over and she immediately discovered me styling me new M.o.w. clothing. She remembered that she has the same jacket as I was wearing and put it on. While we kept continue talking I combined the “Open Sweater” with the “Action Capris” as well from M.o.w. As I saw her in the “”Open Sweater” from M.o.w. Wicca’s Wardrobe: LOTD 02/05/2013 – Window Shopping!

Baboom Balloons Full

Yesterday I was not in the best mood so I decided to take a “day off” and just went some window shopping.

First I wanted to see the new store of Kyra Camel, owner and designer of Baboom. So I made my way to her new Mainstore. It was closed to the public still, so I had a dreamy time looking through all her stuff without lag and too many people there :p. I already have nearly the whole store, but as I was looking through the 2 floors of amazing designs this wonderful mesh tunic with the matching leggings caught my attention. I never saw them before. The “Legere” outfit you can find in different colors and as I was debating on wich color I should get, I saw it only was 99L$!!! No question, I had to take all of them*giggles*

After that, I went to the Couturier’s Docks to see what news I can find there. And I totally was caught by the “Miss Heart Black” hat from BaObA. This amazing combination of roses, hearts and some petals just did blow me away and I had to get it.

All of a sudden one of the latest releases from [Cliche] came to my mind and I remembered that I got the “Pilar” ankle boots lately with those amazing little studs. Slowly a look was growing in my mind as I saw the wonderful “Dangerous Spikes” jewelry set from A&Ana Fashion at the TDR Fusion.

Last but not least I made my way over to the new Collabor88 sim. They had a lot of amazing stuff as well and I got quite a few things there too but what really touched me was the “Room of Balloons” from Exposeur  & The Loft. The whole room is modify able and you can push and pull the balloons around like and change the colors to make it fit  to your picture idea. As well it has 12 single and 5 couple poses inbuilt. On top you get a sweet little green balloon as an extra prop you can carry as well.

As I was back home at my photo studio, I tried to figure out a picture. But all that I tried was not really satisfying. Maybe because the “Room of Balloons” was made for being snapped with shadows and I still cannot do pictures with shadows again as I always crash as soon as I enable lightning and shadows in SL. As I was shortly before despairing, my sweet little brother came over and saw the “Room of Balloons” and my styling and he asked me what I was doing. I told Dahriel about my little depression and that I seem not to be able to snap a good picture for what ever reason. He liked the room with all the balloons, so he decided to help me and made the snapshots for me. After he sent them over to me, I could work on them. That really saved my day 😉 Thank you sweet brother for helping me out 😉

I really enjoyed my window shopping and I was not planning on making a special post about it, but after all those amazing things I found, I thought it would be worth it 😉

Miss Virtual World 2013 – Again BoSL showcased an amazing event on December the 15th 2013, with the finale of the MVW 2013 contest. Many countries were represented by amazing ladies and it was really an exciting event. Designers and models worked together for their 2 final looks. One evening gown and one national costume for each lady. Every year when I saw the MVW finale it was an exciting moment to see the results, that designers and models worked on for so many weeks. Last year I took the challenge to make a full catalogue of all the gowns and costumes. The idea must have inspired some bloggers this year and they started to do that for the MVW 2013 designs. I decided for my own not to do the same again and just would like to showcase my personal favourites. First I thought about to do my personal top 12, but then I figured that I like more than 12 and just thought about doing all the ones that really caught my attention in no particular order

The gown for Miss Virtual Iceland 2013 was made my Kimmera Madison, owner and designer of Tres Beau. I have to admit, as I was sitting there and watching the finale, this was one of those gowns that made me go “WOW”. The wonderful flowers and ruffles go so perfectly together and the color change from the bottom to the top just is made so carefully and with such an amazing feeling for the gradient. The combination of white, teal and the yellow of the flowers are awesome chosen. Again we can see that the long experience of Kimmera and her incredible skills for shapes and colors, let her made this beautiful gown.

The wonderful jewelry for “Miss Zaara123 ” gown are crafted by Belle Roussel, owner and designer of Chop Zuey. The “Eilifu” set with its amazing white pearls is the perfect addition to this stunning gown. The “Eilifu” set contains earrings, collar and bracelet.
