Together – Even if the World fell apart

I am so caught by the Thereafter event and it’s creations and exclusives I could do nothing else that just snapping pictures all day long in post apocalyptic outfits on the Thereafter sim :p

Today is very special to me because Red usually never agrees or even asks me to do pictures with him. He usually rarely changes clothes, but with the “Survival Mask & Helmet” from ~isil~ he could not resist 😉

So while he was styling his helmet, I was thinking what I could do since I had blogged the mask already a few days ago, BUT without the helmet!

This time I want to show the helmet AND the mask 😉 Even if you could wear the helmet only as well, but I just loved the look of the combination of both so much – together with Red it looked like we were hunting or exploring 😉

Red as well has a weapon addiction and the theme and looks allowed weapons as well – great fortune for cool pictures together with him. The weapons we use are mainly rom Breach, only for some poses I used the pose props pistols from Gingerfish, which I will showcase on a nother post soon, just because they were modifiable and fitted better into my little hands*snickers*

When I was looking for poses – couple poses I am not that familiar with as I rarely use them, especially those kind of poses – and I discovered that I have so many older ones I never used from various events. As you know I am not a huge fan of simple standing poses anymore for pictures, as I really do love movement and action shown in pics, so I wanted to find some that are in that direction too. When I found a few that I liked, we went again on the Thereafter sim for pictures – I so do enjoy that sim and I am already sad that the event will be over at the 27th and the sim will be gone 🙁

I made so many pictures… it really was hard to decide which ones to use for the post – not to mention how much fun I had doing pics with Red, since that happens so rarely 😉

I just can warmly commend the Thereafter sim and the event to you. It is an amazing experience and around the stores of the amazing designer – which made wonderful items according to the theme and the event – you can find so many cool corners and spots for pictures or just hang out and chat and enjoy the environment until the 27th of August.

The Price of a Wish

For the last issue of the Kaleidos Magazine I was allowed to make a picture based story – idk how you really call that –  but I always had fun with little stories or traditionals paired with pictures. I have to admit I love reading blogs myself and I always loved to read fun stories or reviews or little stories 😉 So I certainly was super happy, when Sam asked me if I would like to do something like that for the Kaleidos Magazine.

The Price of a Wish

We all heard the stories about the Yeti, unicorns, chupacabras or even Nessie. Many people claimed to have seen them, but nobody actually caught them. Rumors and stories about these mythical beings that had been told for many generations.

But now in the year 2017 something strange is going on deep in the mystic forest, deep down in Ireland. People found foot prints, first they thought it might be a hoofed animal but now it changed – People claimed to have seen a mysterious wild creature, yet female looking , she’s got a light, pale skin, horns, wild hair and hooves. This creature must have been good at hiding because nobody was ever able to catch her. Rumors spread around vastly that the one that tames this beast will have all their wishes fulfilled.

Many people failed at trying to find her, a lot of people never return from their adventure. But one day a brave, young man decided to try his luck to find this being, he was laughed at and mocked, people took bets on him – whether he would come back or not.

One day this mysterious creature roamed around the forest trying to find something to eat, after all she was really gentle and in peace with the nature. She wouldn’t harm any animals or humans. She loved to eat nuts and plants, but over the time she became sad, because people tried to chase her and her family and now she was the last one left of her species.

The friendly beast took a brief break at a small lake, she didn’t feel any danger and unfortunately wasn’t aware that a man was sitting in the bushes near to her. She hummed a little song and thought about her joyful, peaceful life in the forest when suddenly the man jumped out of the darkness with his sword drawn.

She stopped breathing for a moment and her life flashed before her eyes, she thought she would end up like all of her family and ancestors. After coming out from her daze, her thoughts clearer, she jumped off and tried defending herself but could not find a way to fight back. She started galloping, she ran and ran, her heart beating frantically, she just wanted to carry on with her life, even though she would be the last one alive of her kind.

The man gave chase. She looked back hoping she lost him among the dense forest but the color drained from her as she saw him still following her with sword in hand. She trotted faster through the undergrowth, but then, she stumbled over a protruding tree root and fell. Her ankle hurting, she couldn’t find a way to stand up again the pain was hard to bare but with her will and adrenaline she got back onto her feet, but it was too late, the man was too close now and as she turned, she ran directly into the sword he held behind her. A surge of pain ran through her body and golden tears were running down her cheeks as this man towered over to finish his prey.

She felt her power vanish and broke down to the ground, feeling the smooth and damp grass of the morning underneath her. Her last view was the male, standing above her, his hands raised, enthralled about his luck and victory. In the moment of her death he would loudly call his wishes out in the forest, like the rumors said and like it always had been, when one of her species was murdered.

She closed her eyes, the last golden tear ran down her cheek, her breathing waning more and more going silent until she finally died on the forest floor, kissed by the few last sunbeams that guided her over to where all her ancestors waited for her.

Black & White – Pose Studies with Bauhaus Movement

I was in a Black& White mood again and with the amazing outfit from Moon Elixir, called “Gothique” it was easy to go with those colors. The “Gothique” outfit is a huge gacha set with 22 commons and 2 rares. There is many different versions you can wear, with all the parts being single like the harness is not connected to the pants or the body suit, or the top and the sleeves can be taken off as well.

Sometimes, I just have fu fooling around with poses, not for a special purpose just to practise about angles, crops and new views, or even just to see what you can work with shadows in several angles.

Lately I got a huge pack of poses from Bauhaus Movement, because I was searching ‘no standing’ poses. I realized that I have a lot of modeling poses, but not too many sitting, laying or crouching poses or editorial poses that allow to show a full body shot without having more background that me on my blog pictures.

It is hard if you just go with the general way of modeling poses and then try to make a blog picture that does not show like a million trees and flowers and your avatar gets swallowed by your surrounding especially if you go to a non square format for your pictures. I do like the 4:3, or in general the wider then high proportions for my pictures and so I have to find some solutions for myself. And there is so many more options, that make pictures so much more cool with not just ‘standing and being pretty’ poses 😉 And cropping does help a lot with that but sometimes you just wanna see the whole avatar or at least 90% of it 😉

For those kind of pictures I like a plain simple set or background. When I just wanna play with poses, angles and crops I like it very simple to see the result of the shoots better. That’s why I just put some lamps from neigeux, a wall with a black texture and a frame.

The pack I got from Bauhaus Movement is called “Full Metal Panic” set and has 50 different poses – some even with variations. I really felt the whole pack as a great variety of poses for so many different purposes. Certainly I could not show all 50 of them but I found a few cool ones that worked with today’s outfit. In general I like to wear pants for such pose playing, because with skirts you are way more limited with poses because of the stretching and breaking the skirt or its texture.

Sometimes playing with poses without any special goal can be so much fun and usually I end up with way too many pictures and have a hard time choosing the ones I wanna use for my post :p But I hope you enjoy my selection as much as I did 🙂

LOTD 03/26/2017 – Yesterday @ GizzA

Working at GizzA is so much fun, you meet new people everyday and as well you have probably the 2 of the best bosses ever. Giz and Auster are 2 of the most kind people I ever met in Second Life and so work is even more fun especially if the come around to check the store and have time for little chit-chat 😉

GizzA had many new releases lately – as always –  it was hard to pick one for my today’s shift.

Finally my decision fell on the “Karlie Sweater Dress”.

The dress can be worn without any pants or leggings as well, but I am not a fan of bare legs too much, plus the season not yet has me in the mood for that 😉

The sweater dress comes in many different colors and you get for each of them 2 different shades and a HUD for the belt.

For the pants I chose some leggings from Lassitude & Ennui, that just matched the tone of the sweater perfectly.

That look just matched the season mood I am in at the moment, ready for spring to come even if it is freezy outside still later in the afternoons!

Diversity in Black and White for SL Fierce

I love working for magazines and not too long ago the newest issue of SL Fierce was released.

SL Fierce is something special to me, as they (aka mainly Steele Sirnah, as SL Fierce is kinda his baby 😉 ) always come up with amazing themes and as well with challenging styling requests, but you always have to use your own inventory and have kinda free reign of what you are doing without any given items or rules.

Certainly it is fun too if you get things from amazing designers, but it is a totally different workflow for me then. When you get a design, then you try to highlight it in your look. You want to promote the designer that gave you the item and with the focus on that you built a style around that. I would not choose one over the other as I like both and each is a totally different challenge than the other 😉

This time SL Fierce was going for ‘Dark & Light Feathers’ as well as for ‘Dark Beauty’. When I was told, who I may shoot with, I totally was looking forward to the shoots, as I always feel an invisible band between me and her and she seems to think so much alike and always feels and gets my weirdness :p

I am talking about WrenNoir Cerise, one of the most creative and skilled artists I met in SL, when it comes to 2D art and as well a wonderful and kind lady.

Working with Wren always means huge fun and as well amazing pictures 🙂 She loves to experiment and while she does her set ups or looks for the right poses she is even getting more into her creative universe.

The first look of the 3 I started with, was the Light Feathers, since I thought that might take me the longest to style since white is not my total comport zone 😉

First I thought about an angel, but what ever I tried it looked weird to me and so I decided to try something different. Something more fantasy and satyr or faun looking. I always loved the “Wisdom Angel Wings” from Astralia so much and now I got the chance to try something with them 🙂 The rest kinda fell in place very smooth 😉

For the Dark Beauty, I wanted a strong, dark diva look :p And with the outfit from Pixicat combined with the stole of *agp* it was easy to achieve that.

The Dark Feathers, that was the one I felt most comfortable with… that was my personal playground*giggles* I love to mis and match so I used a lot of different feather attachments for this look.

It is amazing to see how so many different outfit parts that do not really belong to ech other on the first view, can become a new outfit.

How often we see cool poses and we never get to use them becasue they are extraordinary, editorial and so super awesome expressive that they seem to never fit an outfit.

Especially crouch poses or some kind of unusual movements can be hard if you have a certain outfit, that just doesnot want to cooperate with the poses you would love to use.. I am sure you know what I am talking about :p

So this time, I wanted tight pants, which would not clash with any kind of poses and some cool casual look that would agree with any kind of poses, that I always wanted to use before and rarely had a chance to do so.

My choice fell on one of the amazing applier leggings from Lassidude & Ennui. Her appliers really have an incredible quality and so many details that you barely can see they are ‘just’ appliers and not actual mesh pants. Appliers have the great advantage that nothing clashes or bends weird when your legs move. Another great thing about appliers is, you can mix and match a little bot more by using them together with mesh pieces, as you do not have to take care of several mesh sizes or mesh poking through each other by layering it over each other. The top comes from Moon Elixir with a full amazing outfit called “Rebel”

All the poses of today’s post are coming from Poseidon. An extraordinary pose store I discovered not too long ago. Gryphon Vendetta, owner and creator of Poseidon Poses, never stops to amaze me with his new releases.

The poses are super energetic and natural looking and most of them show incredible movements, like a momentary capture of some animation. You will find poses for any occasion or purpose at Poseidon, no matter if you look for runnings, jumps, dances or even themed poses like the super cool “Hill Nurse” set, that inspired me not too long ago to some creepy pics 😉 (https://wiccamerlin.de/something-evils-lurkinin-the-dark/)

He did some super cool props and as well little sets filled with his amazing poses. To me they are really refreshing and inspire me a lot just by running through them. If you are a friend of different angles, those poses are super awesome for editorial shots as well as he takes care of every limb to be perfect. And even if they look so dramatic you always get a real looking feeling and nothing breaks or looks like broken bones :p

All these days are filled with rust,
With nothing living on the earth’s crust.

Are all that you’ll find,
But who said that the human race has become refined?
