The lights outside Pyper’s window were bright, almost too bright, They glared throughout the city, illuminated every building as far as the eye could see. Yet beyond, there was only darkness.

Such is the way of space. Light and dark battling for dominance. A station floating among the stars as a refuge: a beacon for intergalactic travelers from the cold darkness of space. To Pyper, it was simply home.

Pyper held the notable distinction of being the first human born on this station, thanks to the fact that her parents were among the first to build this new colony. As word spread, other species arrived, as well as human explorers and settlers.

That was over 50 years ago, based on the Earth calender and the only home Pyper ever knew. When she came into adulthood, Pyper could have boarded a ship and traveled throughout known space or explored beyond. She was well educated, thanks to her parents and highly skilled in engineering, physics and biochemistry. Instead, Pyper chose to remain and follow in the family business. Her parents worked hard all their lives, sometimes at great risk to their own safety and sanity, to see this dream realized. A neutral platform where races across the galaxy could meet and work together.

Dressed in a synthetic, leather-like jumpsuit that stored body heat and reduced the need for room-by-room heating units, Pyper finished dressing as she continued to stare out the windows. While all her wardrobe was standard for the residents, Pyper did indulge in one luxury – her boots.

While they were constructed by the same materials as her clothing, Pyper had them custom made to include platformed wedge to the sole that not only elevated her height, but gave her a feeling of personal power. Her mother once referred to them as ‘ass kicking heels’. Whatever they were called back on Earth, Pyper wore them with more than a bit of attitude.

Seeing time grew short, Pyper gathered the last of her things and left her quarters. The tram system platform that transported residents everywhere in the city was across from her building.

Within minutes Pyper arrived at work. She had taken over for her father after his death at 173 Earth years. Why is it the good die so young?

The doors opened automatically as Pyper approached so she never had to break her stride. Confident, brilliant, fierce, fair-minded – all adjectives used to describe Pyper Inshan when she assumed her father’s duties.

“Good morning, Ambassador Inshan,” Pyper’s aide greeted her with respectful bow, “The Kherillion delegation awaits you in the Great Hall.“

A Place to Hide

The darkness was broken only by the torch I carried, casting eerie shadows in the cave that is my last hope. A hiding place no one can ever find. My boots shuffle along the uneven and rocky floor of the cavern hidden deep underground a long lost and forgotten city.
No one has been here in hundreds of years and I pray no one will ever return. It’s the only place where I can keep it safe. If anyone gets their hands on the contents of the box in my backpack, all is lost.
It’s been discovered before, many times, because I was careless in my diligence and lax in my guardianship. And each instance was a cataclysmic disaster. I cannot allow it happen again.
It can’t be destroyed – God knows I have tried. No one else can bare the burden – the responsibility is mine and mine alone. Hiding it from the world was my last resort.
The slightest sound roars in my ears like a freight train barreling down on me. The drip, drip, drip of water. The crackling of the meager flame guiding my way. A tiny pebble kicked by the toe of my boot.
I’m close. I can sense I am near the edge of the endless abyss that is my only salvation. Trembling with fear, excitement, anticipation – I don’t know my own emotions anymore. I just know the end is near.
With the torch wedged into a crack on the ground, I drop to my knees and let the backpack slide down beside me. The box tumbles out as if it has a life of its own. It DOES have a life of its own.

I clutch at the key hanging around my neck. It is calling to me to unlock the box. I need to fight its siren call, but I have to see it once last time. The lid opens slowly and there it lies – the bane of my existence. My heart.
Its steady beat is hypnotic as it seduces me with talk of love and happiness. But those things don’t exist. They are only illusions and when reality rears its ugly head, the pain is unbearable.
I slammed the lid closed and the snap of the lock sends a cold chill through my veins. Before it has a chance to change my mind, I shove the box over the edge and into the dark abyss, a bottomless pit where nothing can return.
For long moments I wait, expecting the hear the box crash upon the rocks below. There is no sound. There is just … nothing; Torch in hand I rise and walk away, free of my burden at last. Free from the pain of feelings.
No one can hurt me again. Especially my own heart.

Do you know that feeling, if you have gotten something you totaly like and then you have no satisfying idea how to showcase it in a styling? You do not want to make a compromise, nor you want to waste it in something it doesn’t belong 100% to? This I an fighting for 2 different things for weeks now and finally one design just made it into something I do like *smiles all over*

That is one reason, why I am wearing my Simone head from LeLutka again instead of one of the new Evolution line (that will be my next post again!) I was a longer process this time – it started way before the new head line from LeLutka was released *giggles*

When I finally had my look together, the huge problem of the background/scenery started again. Lately that is one of my biggest problems as I rarely find good places when I need them, they usually pop up way after I posted something and then I get into the “Damn, would you just have waited” mode. But if I wouldn’t have the pictures already, that moment would not have happened most likely…

I am pondering if I just over-think things sometimes and that becomes to the problem that I do not like anything I am doing, or if it is just an episode in my life that I question everything at the moment – I have no idea.

But this time I was lucky again and found my perfect background with the “Slum Riverside” backdrop from Paparazzi and some deco elements from DRD and floorplan to make it look like I wanted.

My item I was trying for so long to find the right look was the “Crime Scene” face art from Nefekalum Tattoos. It was a gift for the Hallow Manor. It is an amazing alteration of the “Seer” face tattoo, which I was already in love with and showcased before already (HERE).

Yellow usually isn’t a color I am very familiar with as I love black and red or white the most . Sometimes even blue but the warm, bright colors are something I struggle a lot with. Even more I wanted this pictures to be perfect and cool 😉

CerberusXing is one of my favorite places to go, if I am looking for something edgy, extraordinary or outstanding. I love his dark moods and designs a lot and they do inspire me a lot for many of my pictures. His texture work is incredible with so many different fabrics and his leather textures are just stunning.

Today I am wearing a mix and match of many of his designs. I combines the “Hiniata” net dress with the “Pantsu Codex” panties and the amazing detailed “LSD Fishnet” stockings. I will have another post for the stockings soon since I am hiding half of the beauty in my “Monster Boots” from Psycho Barbie.

I wanted to bring the yellow once again and I digged deep in my inventory to find something yellow that would work with the amazing face art. Yellow isn’t automatically yellow, something I tried to tell people for years. Even if it is the same color or color range it still might clash if you pair the wrong shades, but I rarely get heard with that *rolls her eyes*

It is the same when people keep saying red and pink do not go together – damn hell they do if you picture the right shades… anyways, lets focus on yellow and black again *winks*

I know I used the earring/piercing gacha set from Eclipse Art Studio already for my last picture but it is just so amazing I had to use it again for this post. I even loved that kind of piercing in RL and as well had one of those for a long time, where the nose piercing was connected to the ear – maybe thats is why I love it so much, as it reminds me on my 20s. Even if I have no clue anymore how I could sleep with that chain across my cheek… must have worked as I had for quite a while! I always loved long earrings more than short ones or studs only, even if sometimes my long hair totally became a mess when they tangled up with exactly that. The long earrings I used to take out at night and changed them kinda everyday.

The whole style remembers me on my 20s somehow even if I would have not worn that tiny, little nothing of that sexy net dress like that… but hey, that is what we have Second Life for!

Now I will crawl back to my platform and work some more on the new “Nova” head from LeLutka, so that I can show that to you next 😉
