It was time again for some futuristic ideas 😉 Some times I do like to give myself some challenges and today, I wanted to bring together the awesome “Aglaya Latex Cyber Collar” – made by A&Y – and the super cute “Frenchie Ankle Boots” from [Gos]. Latex collar and some rough cloth looking ankle boots with a shiny leather tip. I made it a challenge for me to combine 2 complete different fabrics and none of both should look out of place, or have more impact than the other – if that makes sense. I wanted them to shine together with each other and not compete against. I looked though my inventory to balance out the style. The first day I tried it I was nearly giving up as nothing seemed to work – I already was about to use the full “Aglaya” set from A&Y as it goes so perfectly together. But I already blogged the other parts a few times (I still do love them like mad), plus I did not want to throw my first challenge of the year so quickly 😉

I had to find the right balance and fabrics to put together my look. After a while I found a top, that played directly in my hands with those different fabrics and so I had hope again that this could work out nevertheless! The “Ellie Corset Top”, a collaboration of Azuchi and Vinyl. I do have that for a longer time and for today it was the perfect choice. The top has a matte fabric, while the corset has the perfect shiny look. For the arms I used one one arm some classic opera gloves, which I pimped with the cool “Pyper 69 Upper Arm” bracelet. On the other arm I went with the bento enabled “Nemesis Arms” from Wicca’s Wardrobe with the shiny metal plates. The latex skirt from United Colors and some Nylon stockings connected the upper with the bottom and the crazy “Medusa Cyber Hair”, as well from A&Y, combined with the “Disco Glasses from #187#gave the whole style a futuristic look. Since the look already is so full of details I decided to use a more simple background to get a more editorial looking picture.

It is Fetish Fair time again! On February 2nd, the Fetish Fair will open its doors again and we have the pleasure to be part again!

For this round of the Fetish Fair we have Jordan, a sensual latex outfit that is designed for Maitreya Lara as well as Slink’s Physique and Hourglass. Jordan is made up of 3 separates: corset, panty and boots. Jordan also comes with a HUD that offers 7 colors and 3 metals for your styling pleasure.

Blinded by the Light

First there was a short, glaring light and then a long following darkness…

Today I again will showcase some of the amazing designs of the Thereafter event, but this time in a slightly different way. I really do love the post apocalyptic scenarios with all the trash and chaos, the dirt and the abandoned cities. But this time when I put on the cool wrap from Bauhaus and added the amazing “Andromeda” makeup made by Slackgirl, I had a totally different vision.

If you saw a short harsh light followed by a huge explosion and then all around you became dark and silent… and then you figure it is not night, you do not see any contours, outlines of shadows as you used to at night?

With that vision I went on styling and put in the amazing top from Vinyl, as well an exclusive for Thereafter and the collar from Noir. The first vision of my idea for today slowly fell together.

The more I played with it, the more the vision again changed and since I have some fantasy moments as well, those influences added up to my original first vision. Probably it did not help that I was watching ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ while I was editing my pictures :p

 

The evil Necromonger and the white lady that helped Riddick kinda inspired me to the idea of a magician walker, that roam around through the nights of a post apocalyptic environment. And who can say that a nuclear apocalypse with all the energy that gets set free does not change a human being and the skills and abilities 😉

Certainly the kick ass “Wasteland Reaper” from CerberusXing could not miss for that kind of style 😉 I always admired the work of [CX]. The ideas, the amazing details and the love of realistic creations of metals, chains, spikes and leather always fascinated me.

I did not want to use a busy background, as it felt wrong for my kind of idea and so I just played around with windlights until I found that amazing blue/green sky with a light blue-ish moonlight falling down on my body. After fiddling a bit with it and tweak it hee and there, it really got the feelings that I had for this pictures. Sometimes I really do love simple surroundings as they can look so very dramatic and thrilling even if you just use lights and shadows.

That was not the first time that the original idea turned while I put my style together, but to be honest I enjoy those moments when your vision turns around and it goes in a different direction as you planned on it.

Since we have 5 more days (only 🙁 )for the Thereafter event, that probably is not my last post apocalyptic post, but I hope you enjoy it as much as I do 😉

Caira [Latex Edition] – NEW @ Wicca’s Wardrobe

Lately I had a long talk with a close friend of mine about latex on fashion runways.

In the end we both agreed that latex can be a very fashionable fabric for clothing and accessories and so the idea of the “Caira” Latex Edition was born.

I know from various talks with other SL models, that many feel uncomphortable with wearing latex or think that latex just belong to others peoples bedrooms.

I never understood that because if you look at RL runways the high fashion designers used latex and vinyl for years. It all always depends on the way of how the latex is used and as well about the presentation.

To me latex always was something that had a very cool look to many different designs. Sometimes you saw very casual clothing shapes totally changed in their attitude with just being made of latex.

When we made the new “Caira” outfit for the store, we first had a Leather Edition, but we wanted to try how it would look in latex or vinyl as well and so we gave it a try. I have to say latex is one of the hardest materials you can try in SL probably as all the shine and lights are not really easy to do.

If you ever saw a latex clothing piece in RL, it basically just has a surface that is very clean, glossy and sleek with nearly no fabric structure. So everything what makes the look of latex is the light of the surrounding, that gets reflected by the clothing piece. That means it never will have the shadows and lights on the same spot, basically they change with every move.

Now try to make some permanent high lights for SL, which donot look like you wouldhave painted on someones body with a wide brush of white wall paint :p

It took some time until we all were satisfied with our version of a latex looking “Caira” but the result now really looks good and I love to wear it myself a lot. Especially becasue iam allergic to latex in RL and can’t do it there at all without getting bad pimples and itchy spots all over my skin *giggles*

In the end I guess everyone needs to decide on their own, if they wanna wear latex or vinyl or not, but I would not ban it from the runways or out of fashion blogs in general 😉 To me they are refreshing and extraordiary plus sometimes.

I had fun doing those pictures, giving them an art touch with different lightnings and crops 😉

Can Latex and Vinyl be Fashion? – Yes they can!

Sometimes you just sit there and stare at your inventory, not knowing what you wanna do… You just see a wall of things you wanna blog and you cannot make up your mind what you should do first. I usually start then first with some inventory sorting and cleaning, what I anyways do way to occasionally…

Sometimes you get lucky and find an inspiration while you are sorting, sometimes you just have to put on several things until feels like “DingDingDing” and you know exactly what you wanna do 😉

It wasnt that bad this time, as I did know I want to showcase one of the latest releases of [sys] from the Black Fair and the mega cool Elephant seat from 22769 from the actual We <3 RP event.

 Now, the big question was how to bring those 2 together in a cool way, as I wanted to combine the latex look of the “Hellia” dress with the light shining texture of the “Elephant Loveseat”.

When I looked through my inventory to see what more I could use for my scenery, I came across the “Chameleon Bag” from Boutique #187, which i just put on the sofa, as I did not yet know what kind of poses I wanna use. Furthermore I found a shelf, that I got last year at the On9 event from six o’clock and some wall art from 22769.

The scenery became more and more monochrome and modern and so I decided to wear the “Overcast” hat from LODE to my styling. It is a long time favourite of mine and while I was fooling around with several poses more and more the idea of the huge hat did grow in my head. Last but not least I added the wrist cuffs of our new “Cathbad Set”, which we made with Wicca’s Wardrobe for the actual round of The Secret affair and some sheer tights from Izzie’s, to feature the gold parts of the “Hellia” outfit a little bit more.

To finish my look I certainly HAD to use my new “Nemesia” angle boots from Glamistry. Since I saw that boots the first time I fell in love with them. I know they are not the newest release from Glamistry but they are one of my personal favorites! They are so versatile! Depending on the color and color combinations they can feature every style from casual to elegant. Today certainly I had to go for black & gold to match the actual look (not to mention that black is my favourite colors anyways :p )

Overall this look might be another example, that latex can be fashionable even if so many still sort it only in the wrong corner… even some of the most popular designers used latex and vinyl for their creations and put it on the runways of our world 😉

LOTD 10/06/2014 – Cool Look at the Dead End

Today I had a very lazy day and was looking around for new locations to do pictures.

Mostly roleplay sims are very well and detailed designed. So my ways lead me over several urban RP sims before I found the “Dead End”. At some RP sims you land first in a mall and have to find your way through a whole bunch of shops before you actually can enter the sim. These malls are usually not that great looking, so I was surprised when I landed at the “Dead End” that I landed right at  the scenery. At the landing point I found the rules very easy and so I could make sure that I would not obtrude or disturb anyone by just looking around. I had not to go far until I found the right spot that matched my todays look 😉

Today I was running around in one of my latest creations, wich I made for the  [Room 69] event. It is the first time that I am part of that and i have to tell that I was treated super kind and nice by the people who run it. They were very helpful and patient with me.

The “Nagini Top [B&W Edition]” that I am wearing, is a wonderful short top with chains hanging down over the belly and a huge and deep neckline wich gives a very sexy and modern look.  The top comes with my new HUD wich is just one prim with one script what makes it a very low lag script. You can choose between 6 different options for the texture of the top.

The pants as well you can find at the [Room 69] along with the “Nagini Top”. The “Anakri ‘Pants [B&W Edition]” are made to match the “Nagini Top” and have the same HUD options.

The shoes are one of my personal favourites and you will find the at my main store. The “Gambler Heels [Autumn Edition]” are made for the Slink Av. Enhancement mesh feet. They only will fit with the high version of the Slink feet and not for the regular Avatar feet.

The dieces wich make the heel and the letters at the platform are textured with metals. With the HUD that comes with it, they can be retextured in gold, silver and a black metal. For he shoe it self you have many different possibilities to customize them in texture and color. The palette goes over all the actual autumn colors. The HUD allows to recolor the whole shoe as well as in 3 different parts. The sole, the straps and the body can be changed separately.

To complete my look I used the “Creature Glasses” as well from Wicca’s Wardrobe.

For the hair I wanted to use something casual but still wild and modern from booN. For the lipstick I chose my favourite one from Launa Fauna. It is part of the “Halloween Set” and what I like so much is, that the black is not just deep opaque black with no structure. I always loved Launa Fauna for her high detailed makeups, lipsticks and skins.

The black nails with those sweet white spiders and webs are made by Nailed It! and they are part of the “Rock Set”.

I now will continue to explore the “Dead End” and see if I can find some more cool spots for my next pictures 😉
