Vintage Fair – My little journey through past times…

Vintage Fair – I really do love vintage styles and fashion and this fair really went right into my heart. The sim is amazingly done and all the designers did such a wonderful job on different centuries and styles. There is nearly nothing you will not find there. From really old times over 20s, 30s, 40s up to the 80s .. all time periods are represented.

For this post I decided to go with one of my favourite designs from a wonderful talented and amazing lady. Salt, owner and designer of Salt & Pepper, is an incredible designer. you can see that on all of her work. She puts so much love in her designs and she has a real great eye for details and textures. When I saw her “Yvette” harness, which she released as an exclusive at the Vintage Fair.

Usually if you hear the word ‘harness’ you immediately think about black leather straps and silver rings… but the “Yvette” harness from Salt & Pepper is so far from that! It is an amazing little harness with lots of decorations and very filigree as well. The thin leather straps are just holding the decorations in place it seems πŸ˜‰ At the waist you have an amazing belt looking part, which is decorated with pearls. With the HUD you are able to change the leather color as well as the metal colors! The amazing pasties are part of the whole outfit and as well work with the HUD to customize everything to your personal likings πŸ˜‰

For the hair I as well chose a new release I found at the Vintage Fair. The “Denisa” hair style was a wonderful addition to underline the vintage feeling of the “Yvette” harness. With the typical pin-up style it was just looking right for what I was looking for. The amazing huge pearl earrings are made by Elysium and the jewelry I just mixed and matched of different parts of AvaWay, Lybra and Elysium. To me pearls are always a must somehow for early vintage looks ;), plus there were this amazing pearls on the outfit already so I just had to πŸ™‚ .

For the shoes it HAD to be peep toes πŸ˜‰ I chose the “Zinnia” heels from Glamistry, as with the huge HUD possibilities it was super to match them to the outfit and with the great detailed work of Glamistry you really can do nothing wrong anyways which kind of style you are doing!

The whole scenery I did built of striped mocha items. The sweet little birdcages are as well a Vintage Fair exclusive and with the hanging lotuses and that amazing bed it just made the most amazing scenery for my pictures. For the poses I went through various poses and picked out from all kind of pose designers like DARE, Body Talking or Corpus and even more I do not even remember πŸ˜‰ But I had a great time with my little journey through past times and hope you enjoy this post as well πŸ™‚

Love for Donna Flora – GizzA for Squinternet Larnia

yeriakapokalyptic1-2048

Today I would like to show you another contribution for the great Love for Donna Flora event (http://lovedonnaflora.wordpress.com/2013/07/02/so-cancer-happened/)

Please make sure you visit the Love for Dona Flora sim and see all of those amazing designs, that were created to help Squinternet! (Taxi: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Brookridge/139/155/31)

For the first picture, the credits go out to Falbala Fairey. She asked if I would have blogged the “Yeriak” gown already, the one Giz Seorn, owner and designer of GizzA, made for he Love for Donna Flora event. She wanted to do a special picture together with another new release from GizzA, in a way of good versus evil. As usual I get asked to do the evil part I was wondering, why she asked me for the “Yeriak” gown…Β  as I arrived I saw Falli in the new “Thorn Dress” and I did understand… Today she gets to be the evil and me the good one! I would like to thank Falli for that amazing picture. She even did some wonderful closeups, that you can see together with her stylecard on her blog (http://falbalafaireyfashionblog.wordpress.com/2013/08/01/in-darkness-shines-the-light/)

Gizza - Yeriak for Donna Flora 001.

Let’s take a closer look on the “Yeriak” dress. The amazing corset shows, how much love for the detail Giz puts into her designs. The filigree and delicate lace that covers the waist and the wonderful opaque colored texture, that is placed on the chest make a perfect combination for this playful, vintage touched outfit. The gloves bring back the theme of the corset and the huge headpiece with the awesome sheer and flexible parts that are repeated in the skirt as well. The huge flowers that decorate the waist and as well the hat add a huge ‘eye catcher factor’ and together with the stockings and the garters it makes a perfect vintage touched outfit. The whole ensemble is a perfect contribution to the Love for Donna Flora event as it kinda is a tribute as well to Squinternet Larnia, the queen of the vintage look πŸ˜‰

Brave Woman – A Tribute to Donna Flora

Love for Donna Flora full

Some brave women, not the famous ones, fought for the right to vote early in the last century, they were called Suffragettes in a pejorative manner. They went on hunger strikes, were forcibly fed, went into passive resistance and took other measures to claim that women are equal. After almost 20 years of fighting, the right to vote was finally granted in 1919 (USA) and 1920 (UK). Being a political decision, it had a strong impact on the women’s lives and their appearance. Long hair was cut, and skirts shortened, the corsets went. Around then Coco Chanel invented the little black dress offering an unknown freedom of movement tot he wearer. She was right when she said, this dress would be “a sort of uniform for all women of taste.β€œ Today we think of Flappers, thinking back tot he glorious 20s, who would not have been without some brave women fighting for their rights.

But there are other ways to be brave, face an illness, be there for others, raise children, solidarize and to speak up when needed, to name a few.

When talking about the Love Donna Event (http://lovedonnaflora.wordpress.com/2013/07/02/so-cancer-happened/), Mal and I decided to pay our tribute, too. I guess you will get why we picked the 20’s theme.

!Silken Moon – “Flapper” line!!!

!Silken MoonMalicia Python again made a masterpiece of skin!!!

The new “Flapper” skin line has an amazing retro touch and for every single of the 5 makup versions Malicia made an awesome ‘silent’ skin and some matching eyes, what is great if you wanna have the real vintage retro look for example for 20s pics :p

“Brooke”, “Coco”, “Djuna”, “Fay” and “Thelma” each have their own eyebrows and even painted lashes!!!

As Malicia and me are both huge and crazy Rocky Horror fans… we discovered that in one of our midnight talks… I could not resist to try making a Magenta using “Coco”, one of the new “Flapper” skins and make her a little surprise πŸ˜‰

Because of this idea Malicia created a little theatre in the store to set the new “Flapper” skins in the right light. It really became super cute you should take a look by yourself at the !Silken Moon Mainstore!!!

“It’s just a jump to the left…”
