LOTD 03/12/2015 – Original Mesh from SoliDea FoliEs

Today I was in a bit of a sad mood so I guess it kinda influenced today’s pictures a bit…

Not too long ago I got the great “Sweet Powder Shirt” from SoliDEa FoliEs. Lately Mila Tatham started to make her own mesh and the “Sweet Powder Shirt” is one of her very own selfmeshed creations. In the package there comes a wonderful black flexi skirt and black mesh panties with the outfit but I wanted to wear some pants for my today’s look 😉

The shirt is a non symmetric design with one long sleeve and a bare one for the other arm. With the puffy sleeves it is a great contrast to the other side.

For the pants I chose the amazing “Perceive” pants from Lyrical Bizarre Templates. The black pants with the dark tartan looking fabric just made the perfect match to the look I wanted to go for.

I have an addiction for dark stylings, always when I get asked about my favourite color I name black even if black is not a real color :p

Sometimes I just wanna add a single color somewhere and today it was a monocle with red accents, that caught my attention. The “Greatest Love Earthbound Monocle” in black from Sanu. To repeat the only color of this look I decided to go with red shoes and red fingernails. The cool looking shoes I grabbed at “9ty” and the amazing nail polish again is made by my favourite nail designer Giela Delpaso from Nailed It!

The amazing hair I found at Vanity Hair. The “Guns & Pearls” hair style is exactly my favourite way of wearing my hair RL so I had to have it and use it for my todays styling 🙂

The amazing black & white sofa was made by 22769 for the Future Wave event 2015. Originally the sofa has 2 parts one inner and one outer ring, but for today I only used the outer ring of the “Snake Sofa”

New @ Machoire

Today I am very happy, tha I am able to showcase a very new designer on the grid. Machoire, a genius woman, who named her brand after herself or vice versa ;).

She creates original mesh and designs jewelry, hair and accessories in a very artistic way in a new and modern look and style.

Today I would like to showcase one of her great new necklaces called “Livay Nacklace”.

This huge necklace is an art piece and you do not need any busy outfit for it, tha is why I just put on a tight body suit to really let this wonderful design shine and not drag any attention from it.

You have a wonderful front, wich goes deep down to the belly and the back as well is wonderfully handcrafted and artistic shaped. As a little decoration in the front you have some sweet little gems added. The whole piece is texture change able with the huge HUD that comes with the necklace. You have the choice to change the metals and the gems to make sure you can make it match to all of your outfits and stylings.

Machoire… definitely a name to remember or put on your shopping list and I am very curious what she will bring out next!

Playing with Projectors and Lighs – Part I

A few days ago, I joined a class about blogging as I wanted to know if I can learn something new, as I am always looking for new thing I can discover and raise my horizon.

The class was amazing and at some point we came to the part of the pictures and how to take them and wich kind of pictures are for what situation. Usually you have more clean pics for blogging and castings and some more artistic pictures for a storytelling blog post or magazines.

We were talking about many of the very popular photographers in SL and as well about the difference of photographer and artists.

While a photographer usually just takes pics and does them tweak a little bit in one of the graphic programs, the artist takes a snapshot and you will not see the original snap anymore after the artist did the magic with the picture in his program by painting and editing a lot by hand. I would never go so far, to say one has less work or more work than the other, the amount of work might be the same, just it is in 2 totally different ways. While the artist has to be very familiar with his editing s program, his graphic tablet and his skills to paint and illustrate, the photographer needs to be familiar with the SL windlights, shadows, special angles and lights and maybe even with projectors or lighting tools. Both is a lot of work, I believe and it needs a lot of practice just it complete different ways.

I saw for a longer time , that many photographers work with a tool called lumipro. I remember great pics done with this special light tool and I always wanted one to try but, since it is not cheap and I work in so many different areas, I never got one.

But then… lately I was talking to a very long friend of mine a lot and helped her here and there if she wanted my opinion, as friends do usually. Out of the blue one day when I logged in I got a gift…

The crazy girl did know, that I was after the lumipro for quite some time and guess what… She gifted me a lumipro!!! I stormed her IMs telling her she would be crazy to make such expensive gifts and I was totally happy and crazy about. She was just calm, smiles and told me that would be her way to show me how much she appreciated my help. I told her, that I did not do that for any kind of gift, more just because of our friendship and that I never expected anything for that, but she insisted on that this would be her way and I better accept it.

OMG I have a lumipro!

The rest of the evening was just gone, with all the work I wanted to do and I totally lost myself in my new toy. I have to admit I have still no clue how it works properly and I will need to watch a lot of tutorials and ask around to really get used to this fantastic tool but I am more than willing to try!

For today I just played around with the presets and changed them lightly, to see what possibilities and features it has.

God this is a weapon if you know what you are doing with it!!!

I just placed myself in front of a white wall with my war turtle from [Swagga] and turned my windlight settings to midnight to see the full range of the light balls.

I was blown away what those 3 balls can do and I digged further into the user manual on the lumipro website to see what all those buttons of the HUD can do.

Then I found the projectors… holy cow! Now I know how some light settings were made on pictures that I loved so much!

The way to project lights behind you with different textures as filters, was something I totally had forgotten about since I started to play with windlights.

I do not know much at all yet to really use this fantastic photography tool properly, but I know that I will spend a lot of time in the future to be able to operate this HUD and bein able to use all its functions and features as this really is a lot of fun to play around with and that is the reason why I named this post ‘Part I’, because I am really sure about that this will not be the last post about my playing with lights and projectors 😉

But for now I have to finish as there is a lot of work left wich got delayed because of my new lumipro :p

Fashionable Revolution with Faster Pussycat

Today I have again the great pleasure to showcase one of the newest releases of Faster Pussycat. Owner and Designer Honey Bender again outdid herself with a wonderful X-Mas/New Year Mini Collection. The X-Mas Fashio Riot contains 5 different outfits wich you s well can mix and match crossover. I decided to go with the “Le PETIT CADEU” outfit in tartan and added the “Huntress Buckled Gloves” and the “Rebel Antoinette ” shoes.

The “Le PETIT CADEU” outfit comes with a wonderful tight corset, the short skirt ruffles, the neck ribbon, the “Wabbity” mask and the sexy studded panties. As well you will find those amazing nipple shields and the incredible detailed “Anarchy” brooch in you box if you purchased the “Le PETIT CADEU” outfit.

The tartan fabric of the corset and the skirt together with the rebel attitude of the whole outfit and sa well the colors, immediately for me gave a UK punkish feeling.

The “Rebel Antoinette” shoes are made for the slink mid feet and with the brocade golden fabric they are the perfect addition for the outfit.

But like I mentioned before, this is only one outfit off the great Fashion Riot mini collection and to see all the other amazing outfits you can either make up your way to the Faster Pussycat main store to the second floor or wait till I have snapped all the other amazing outfits 😉

If you blog or create looks and styles, I am sure you know the feeling…

You like something, buy it and it simply does not wanna talk to you in the first place. You get not the exact right idea or have no clue how to stage it right.

Then you put it aside for a few and all of a sudden afer some time you wear it again and immediately know what you wanna do with it, kinda as it would talk to you.

Exactly that happened to me with the “Biopunk” outfit from [sys]. I liked, it had a very cool attitude but when I was wearing the first time I was sure I wanted to blog it, but I had no idea for a scenery or background.

When I was putting it on yesterday again, I had immediately the idea how I wanted it to look like.

I wanted a cool tough environment for a futuristic, urban, swag look.

The “Biopunk” outfit contains a short with open zippers, leggings and the boots.

To pimp it even more towards my futuristic idea, I am wearing the “Inquisition” sunglasses, as well from [sys].

The hair is a wonderful picture hair from EMO-tions. The “Aquaria” hair probably was made for underwater shootings, but I loved how wild the whole look became with it.

Now I just had to find the right location. The best places for making pictures – if you do not wanna create your own set – for me are RP sims. Mostly they are created with so much love for the detail.

After looking around I found a place called Midian City. The place had so many amazing corners and hide outs to make pictures that I ended up having way more pictures than I could use 😉 .

The people were very nice and kind and I was told I can snap some pics as long as I do not disturb the people who wanna role play. I even got an invite to take part in that RP but I did not yet have time to think about to be honest. But after getting some information about the RP it is totally something I would look into if I would think about RPing again 🙂

Steampunk with Yasum

Sometimes you have those special moods… RL becomes very heavy and you kinda use a few hours in the evening to escape your daily routine.

So it was a few days ago when I was wandering around restless and did not really know what to do as dark thoughts were not willing to release my head.

Out of the blue I found myself in a conversation with an old friend. We know each other for quite sometimes and even if we do not talk on a daily base we seem not to forget each other.

She released a new, cool design kinda ready for the “October Fest”. She showed it to me and usually she knows me very well and when she said “Probably not your cup of tea” I had to grin. Usually she is damn right with her opinion of me but this time for some strange reason I had an idea in mind for exactly that piece she just created.

I am talking about the “Bavarian Shugar” pants of Yasum.

The “Bavarian Shugar” pants immediately put a steam punk idea in my head. With the sexy high-waisted but short pants, the cute suspenders and the sexy bra make a perfect ensemble for the October Fest, but as well for a super sexy and neat steam punk look 😉 .

The pants come with a huge HUD to change the textures on the pants,the buttons and the top t various textures and colors.

I paired the sweet ensemble with the “Steampunk Hat” as well mde by Yasum. The hat as well has a huge HUD coming with , wich let you customize the various parts on the hat.

The wings are one of my long time favourite and I often use them for stylings as they are so super detailed and filigree. They are part of the “Fallen Aviator” outfit from E-Clipse.

The shoes are something, that I recently found on marketplace and just could not skip them for my closet :p

Leave your Hat on – Styling around a hat Part II

Because I had so much fun with the stylings for the Art in Hats show, I would like to share another of my stylings made around just a hat 😉

This time the hat I started out with came from Miuccia Klaar. The amazing “The Garden in my Head Hat” shows a watering can and some huge flowers in red and pink growing out some grass.

So what to style around… I wanted to keep the hat center, but still have the colors repeated somewhere plus, I wanted to keep the art character of the hat for the whole look.

I remembered black pants from [AD] Creations, wich had 2 huge pink buttons at the belly and a long waist decoration so I jumped into my [AD] folder and tried all pants till I found them. They are part of the “Haw outfit. With the buttons at the belly and the sheer parts on the right leg they were just perfect.

To bring back the sheer part and to kinda make it pop out a bit more I decided to go with the shirt of the “Riga” outfit from SoliDea FoliEs. The amazing sleeves with the attached mesh hands are from [AD] Creations.

For the boots I chose one of my long time favourites, the “Piccadilly Overknee” mesh boots from Leezu.
