PurpleMoon goes Fantasy for the Instruments Anniversary

PurpleMoon 2A Midsummer Night’s Dream… that’s the name of one of the latest releases from PurpleMoon.

Poulet again designed a super amazing and dreamy outfit for the anniversary round of The Instruments.

When I unpacked it and put it on, I immediately was in love with the beautiful fairy looking outfit.

The outfit contains the sweet dress and the amazing Wings wich are color change able via a HUD to 5 different colors for the fatpack.

I decided to wear the ‘aqua’ version of the dress and as well color the wings in the same color.

PurpleMoon 1The dress is made with a corset and a very cute wrap around skirt. The corset is decorated with amazing ornaments, that underline the dreamy flair of the whole creation. To match the “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” PurpleMoon offers the “Titania Sandals” for the Slink high mesh feet.

The sandals as well have a HUD wich lets you decide between 3 different styles of the shoe – ankle, mid calf and calf high – and as well you can choose between 4 different heel/sole styles.

For the jewelry I put on one of the newer releases of Finesmith.

PurpleMoon 5The “Galactic” set is a very fantasy and space looking set. The huge aqua colored gems are captured by filigree little silver decorations… simply amazing. The whole set contains earrings, necklace, ring, tiara and a headdress (which I did not use for this post).

The look really took me away from reality and let me dream about a  wonderful summer night in a fantasy kingdom 😉

Mermaids

Mermaid

Mermaids

She was a catch, we were a match
I was the match that would fire up her snatch
There was a catch
I was no match
I was fired from her crotch
I sit around and watch
The mermaids sun themselves out on the rocks
They are beyond our touch
I watch and watch
Wave at me
They wave at me
They wave and slip
Back into the sea

All the ones who come
All the ones who go
Down to the water
All the ones who come
All the ones who go
Down to the sea

I believe in God
I believe in mermaids too
I believe in 72 virgins on a chain (why not, why not)
I believe in the Rapture
For Ive seen your face
On the floor of the ocean
At the bottom of the rain

I do driver alertness course
I do husband alertness course
I do mermaid alertness course
Watch them out on the rocks
Wave at me
Wave at me
They wave and slip
Back into the sea

All the ones who come
All the ones who go
Down to the water
All the ones who come
And all the ones who go
Down to the sea

For all the ones who come
And all the ones who go
Down to the water
All the ones who come
And all the ones who go
Down to the sea

News and Spectacular Christmas Special at Mea Culpa!!!

Wicca Siren full

Today I am very happy to showcase one of the latest Mea Culpa releases. The “Call of the Sirene” outfit again is a little piece of art of Tatanka Kaligawa, owner and designer of Mea Culpa.

The “Call of the Sirene” outfit was made for the last Fashion Teller and it’s inspiration were the historical Sirens.

In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous and devious creatures, portrayed as femmes fatales who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. Roman poets placed them on some small islands called Sirenum scopuli. In some later, rationalized traditions, the literal geography of the “flowery” island of Anthemoessa, or Anthemusa, is fixed: sometimes on Cape Pelorum and at others in the islands known as the Sirenuse, near Paestum, or in Capreae. All such locations were surrounded by cliffs and rocks.

When the Sirens were given a name of their own they were considered the daughters of the river god Achelous, fathered upon Terpsichore, Melpomene, Sterope, or Chthon. Although they lured mariners, for the Greeks the Sirens in their “meadow starred with flowers” were not sea deities. Roman writers linked the Sirens more closely to the sea, as daughters of Phorcys. Sirens are found in many Greek stories, particularly in Homer’s Odyssey.

Their number is variously reported as between two and five. In the Odyssey, Homer says nothing of their origin or names, but gives the number of the Sirens as two. Later writers mention both their names and number: some state that there were three, Peisinoe, Aglaope, and Thelxiepeia or Parthenope, Ligeia, and Leucosia; Eustathius states that they were two, Aglaopheme and Thelxiepeia. Their individual names are variously rendered in the later sources as Thelxiepeia/Thelxiope/Thelxinoe, Molpe, Aglaophonos/Aglaope/Aglaopheme, Pisinoe/Peisinoë/Peisithoe, Parthenope, Ligeia, Leucosia, Raidne, and Teles.

The Sirens of Greek mythology are often confused with the Gorgons portrayed in later folklore as half women–half birds, (birds sing beautiful, enchanting songs, like the sirens are portrayed to do); the fact that in Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Romanian and Portuguese the word for mermaid is respectively Sirena, Sirène, Sirena, Syrena, Sirenă and Sereia, and that in biology the Sirenia comprise an order of fully aquatic mammals that includes the dugong and manatee, add to the visual confusion, so that Sirens are even represented as mermaids. However, “the sirens, though they sing to mariners, are not sea-maidens,” Jane Ellen Harrison has cautioned; “they dwell on an island in a flowery meadow.

Tatanka Kaligawa made his own vision of a modern and fashionable Siren come true with his latest creation;)

MVW 2012: Evening Gown for Miss Australia 2012 by Tres Beau & Finesmith

Again we have a wonderful gown by Tres Beau combined with Finesmith jewelry that made it in the Top 12 of Miss Virtual World 2012… even more this combination of the “Miss Rissa” gown of Tres Beau and the “Tribal Glam” set from Finesmith brought Miss Rissa Friller – Miss Australia 2012 – on place 2 of the MVW contest this year. Lets take a look on the gown first. Kimmera Madison again showed her incredible skills of making textures and designing a stunning evening gown for Miss Australia 2012. The basic is made in silver. Silver is not an easy color for clothing in second life, most of the textures look grey and do not have any shine. But not for Tres Beau. The long experiences and the awesome skills of Kimmera Madison make this gown shine in a stunning silver attire. The ornaments look beautiful and give the gown even more highlights as it anyways has. The tight gown makes an awesome silhouette and the big mermaid skirt is a wonderful contrast to the shoulder free top of the gown. The ornaments are brought adorable on the gown so that you can move and pose without stretching this wonderful textures, again something that is not that easy I was told. So, no wonder that Miss Rissa Friller became the 1st runner-up for MVW 2012. The stunning gown is now available for everyone at the Tres Beau Mainstore.

For the jewelry, again we can see how close the designers work together to create this incredible looking styles. Yula Finesmith outdid herself again with catching the style and shape of the wonderful ornaments that Kimmera put on the gown. The swirls she did for the necklace, the bracelet and the ring are breathtaking awesome. Yula as well picked up the colors and made a firework of art with colors and design for this beautiful “Tribal Glam” set.The earrings, 2 little flowers,  are so unbelievable filigree and little, what again shows the incredible skills of yula Finesmith. The love for the detail yula and Kimmera both have in an awesome way. The great “Tribal Glam” set is now available at the Finesmith Mainstore.

MVW 2012: National Gown for Miss Australia 2012 by Tres Beau & Finesmith

The amazing and very artistic national gown for Miss Australia 2012 was made by Kimmera Madison, genius designer of Tres Beau. This gown is a total piece of art and a real outstanding design. The inspiration for this awesome creations was the Great Barrier Reef of Australia. Kimmera brought it on the runway with this incredible design. What you sadly can not see on the picture is the floating water texture that covers parts of the skirt. You really get the imagination or water that is running down the skirt again and again like a little waterfall that Miss Rissa Friller, Miss Australia 2012 carried around. Now available for everyone, you will find the “Miss Australia 2012” gown at the Tres Beau Mainstore.

To make the imagination of the living Great Barrier Reef perfect, Kimmera added certain parts out of the ocean, like seashells, fishes, little nemos, corals, and anemones for the back part and the huge head piece. This gown perfectly shows the skills and knowhow of Kimmera Madison. Her ideas and the ability to create exactly what she has in mind and her awesome textures and prims, make her so popular for such a long time. That maybe explains why most of the MVW candidates find their ways to Tres Beau for their gowns and costumes. For this year “Miss Australia 2012” was one of the 2 gowns from Tres Beau, that brought Miss Rissa Friller the 1st runner-up for Miss Virtual World 2012!

The jewelry for Miss Australia 2012 for sure came from Finesmith. Rissa was the Face of Finesmith for 2011 and so for sure yula made the jewelry for both of her gowns. The “Oceania” set was made for her national costume and it as well takes the theme of the Great Barrier Reef. The earrings, bracelet and ring carry as well seashells, corrals paired with awesome noble metals and gems. Matching nails for the “Oceania” set were the “Ocean” nails as well from Finesmith. Both you will find at the Finesmith Mainstore 🙂
