Blinded by the Light
First there was a short, glaring light and then a long following darkness…
Today I again will showcase some of the amazing designs of the Thereafter event, but this time in a slightly different way. I really do love the post apocalyptic scenarios with all the trash and chaos, the dirt and the abandoned cities. But this time when I put on the cool wrap from Bauhaus and added the amazing “Andromeda” makeup made by Slackgirl, I had a totally different vision.
If you saw a short harsh light followed by a huge explosion and then all around you became dark and silent… and then you figure it is not night, you do not see any contours, outlines of shadows as you used to at night?
With that vision I went on styling and put in the amazing top from Vinyl, as well an exclusive for Thereafter and the collar from Noir. The first vision of my idea for today slowly fell together.
The more I played with it, the more the vision again changed and since I have some fantasy moments as well, those influences added up to my original first vision. Probably it did not help that I was watching ‘The Chronicles of Riddick’ while I was editing my pictures :p
The evil Necromonger and the white lady that helped Riddick kinda inspired me to the idea of a magician walker, that roam around through the nights of a post apocalyptic environment. And who can say that a nuclear apocalypse with all the energy that gets set free does not change a human being and the skills and abilities π
Certainly the kick ass “Wasteland Reaper” from CerberusXing could not miss for that kind of style π I always admired the work of [CX]. The ideas, the amazing details and the love of realistic creations of metals, chains, spikes and leather always fascinated me.
I did not want to use a busy background, as it felt wrong for my kind of idea and so I just played around with windlights until I found that amazing blue/green sky with a light blue-ish moonlight falling down on my body. After fiddling a bit with it and tweak it hee and there, it really got the feelings that I had for this pictures. Sometimes I really do love simple surroundings as they can look so very dramatic and thrilling even if you just use lights and shadows.
That was not the first time that the original idea turned while I put my style together, but to be honest I enjoy those moments when your vision turns around and it goes in a different direction as you planned on it.
Since we have 5 more days (only π )for the Thereafter event, that probably is not my last post apocalyptic post, but I hope you enjoy it as much as I do π

Cyberpunk – What is that?
Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction in a future setting that tends to focus on society as “high-tech low life” featuring advanced technological and scientific achievements, such as information technology and cybernetics, juxtaposed with a degree of breakdown or radical change in the social order.
Cyberpunk plots often center on conflict among artificial intelligences, hackers, and megacorporations, and tend to be set in a near-future Earth, rather than in the far-future settings or galactic vistas found in novels such as Isaac Asimov’s Foundation or Frank Herbert’s Dune. The settings are usually post-industrial dystopias but tend to feature extraordinary cultural ferment and the use of technology in ways never anticipated by its original inventors (“the street finds its own uses for things”). Much of the genre’s atmosphere echoes film noir, and written works in the genre often use techniques from detective fiction.
[Wikipedia]
Classic cyberpunk characters were marginalized, alienated loners who lived on the edge of society in generally dystopic futures where daily life was impacted by rapid technological change, an ubiquitous datasphere of computerized information, and invasive modification of the human body.
[Lawrence Person]
Cyberpunk to me is a very interesting style category and not always easy. Many times I saw people confounding cyberpunk with post apocalyptic styles and the other way round. But in the end those are 2 totally different things. While you have kinda nothing to style from for post apocalyptic looks – basically you only can wear what you find, left over after an apocalypse – with cyberpunk you have all kind of fancy, hyper high-tech and futuristic accessories and implants in a sci-fi looking surrounding.
As well for the colors you have a very different choice. While post apocalyptic mostly uses, black, brown and all kind of grey shades, for the cyberpunk stuffs you see a lot of lights, electricity and mostly you have a blue, teal, green, pink and cold/neon looking color palette where you go from – besides black certainly π
It is very easy if you just type cyberpunk or post apocalyptic to google and then look at all the pictures and movies you can find. For me a typical cyberpunk movie would be Ghost in the Shell or even the Matrix Trilogy to just name 2 popular ones of so many existing π
Maybe I will go over post apocalyptic soon too, since we are short before the amazing ‘Thereafter‘ event (https://thereaftersl.wordpress.com/), but I had a desire to do some cyberpunk today, because it is such a great style that rarely gets showcased and I really do love it a lot. We can do all the funky things with implants and not yet existing gadgets π
You should try it and be not afraid of looking awkward or funky in the first place.. I just can say when you started, it can become an addiction π
Only the sky is the limit since everything is a futuristic dream when it comes to cyberpunkΒ – and all of us have different dreams and visions of the future…

My Bloody Valentine with Prism
On the 14th of February SCALA was having an awesome ‘Bloody Valentine’ fashion show. Who else that Honey Bender could come up with such an incredible idea and as a creative director at SCALA he helped to make this come true.
For all who missed the show… there is an amazing video on youtube, so at least you can get an idea about what I am talking.
I felt very honored, when SCALA asked me to be part as a designer and I made 4 very special deigns for that but that will be a another post π
Originally I was not counted in as a model as I try to avoid walking shows where my own creations are being showcased, so that I can fully enjoy the show and see what models did with my creations.
But I found my name on the list of the backup models and it was ok because usually at SCALA there are not really any dropouts. Since I am a good girl (yes even me sometimes) I went to the rehearsals so that just could fill in if really needed, since the walks at SCALA usually are not that easy.
After we tried the run order on this amazing maze –Β yes we had a lot of fun by exploring where we have to go – we found one little issue and before I even realized I was pulled in for one outfit. And what me lucky girl got assigned?
PRISM! – YAAAAAY!
I know Journey McLaglen, owner and designer of Prism, usually gives me free reigns to style stuff and she does not mind, if I put my little weird and funky tweak on it :p
So … for Bloody Valentine show and me having free reigns … go figure, I had a lot of fun π
The “Tikka” outfit contains a red, short leather skirt and a creme kinda brownish top with an amazing looking print in the front wich perfectly matches the Bloody Valentine Idea.
First of all I wanted some heavy boots to go into a contrast to the more girly looking short skirt. I remembered some really funky boots wich I got from Remarkable Oblivion (RO), called “Hobnails”. With the cool open front showing some hungry teeth those were the right choice for the themed show π
Now since the boots has such a grungy look I wanted to put on some socks and maybe some ripped stockings. :::insanya::: made those as a combination of exactly that… socks with ripped stockings underneath.
I did not wanna go with gloves so I thought about what else I could put on my arms, which felt kinda naked besides the amazing tattoo from Letis Tattoo.
I remembered a great arm gear from Death Row Designs. It comes for both arms but since I like asymmetric things a lot and both would have been too much I just put on the 3 parts for the left arm.
Since the whole look totally became crazy, I needed some crazy hair as well. Wich could do the job better that one of the amazing “Bizarre Hairs” that I have. Sadly the big folder I used to have disappeared some when and never came back. But some of my favourite ones, I got replaced by the very kind MyStiCa Matova, owner and designer of Bizarre Hair and so I am able to use the awesome “Angel of Elements” hair for today’s look.
To underline the Bloody Valentine theme, wich should make a total opposite to the usually sweet and nice Valentine’s Day, I wanted to go drastically on my makeup. REPULSE offers a lot of really creepy makeups and I could not resist to go for the “Worm Eye” for the right eye and a little “Forced Smile” for the left side of my mouth corner.
And last but not least, something I wanted to do in forever on a SL runway since I am used to do that in RL on stage when we play with the band… I wanted to smoke a cigarette and I know this was the only time I could get away with that :p.
I really had fun developing that look and I am very sure that the “Tikka” outfit from Prism would have never thought to be worn in that way π
