“Happy Valentines!” – Every Rose has a Thorn

Sometimes, strange moods can be very productive…

And exactly that I had today when I started to work on the styling for this post. It was a mixture of depression, sadness, the will to do something and the red all over because of Valentine :p .

I started with the “Oru” dress from [sys]. With it’s very cool and unusual shape, it made a great base for my look today, especially because it comes in such a bright and strong red ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

When I tried on the “Luzy” hair from EMO-tions with the “Oru” dress, it was clear this will become kinda crazy :p

Valentine’s Day is something we do not celebrate in Germany as much as the US or other countries do. When I googled it, it said the first Valentines Party was round about 1950 in Germany, even if the traditional custom of that special day goes way back in history. So the biggest fortune of Valentine’s Day in Germany probably goes to the florists ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyways, I personally never was too much into Valentines’s Day as I do not believe, that only one day per year can tell how much i do love a person. To me it is more the steady and little things, than a bunch of flowers on one day.

But with all the Valentine advertisements and what not, you have a hard way around that and all the red at least inspired me for this post and the pictures.

The cool set I built with the “Tree of Nightmares” and “Koi Glitter Puffs” from E.V.E Studio. The red version of the tree really kicked my mind to go even more crazy with the whole look and so I decided to add some heavy makeup. Usually I am for either heavy eye makeup OR a ‘loud’ lipstick but today… It was calling for both ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

The more I was playing with my style and the set, the more the thought of the phrase “every rose has a thorn” settled down inside myself and it became a working title for this post somehow. Like every wonderful moment you have, always can be destroyed by one little ugly ‘thorn’ that hides on that beautiful rose. If you do not think about it, it all of a sudden hurts you. That reminded me of some recent things that happened and so the phrase became more and more something I kept saying to myself, to remind me about the beauty of the rose and not think too much about the thorns.

The leggings from Cureless [+] even more dragged into the darker side and together with the “Nemesia” ankle boots from Glamistry, the whole look got some kind of a rocker chick touch to me.

Every year I discover my own little Valentine thoughts and it always is a lot of fun to see how they turn out if I try to make pictures or posts during that time of the year. But in the end I always enjoy them and I always discover new visions and thoughts of myself about Valentine’s Day looks and red challenges ๐Ÿ˜‰

Exotic Orchid

Usually I am not too much of a gown person, but the “Talissah”gown from Azul really caught my eyes. With all those huge attachments and the unusual shapes of them, it really did touch me inside.

When it comes to Azul, I always admired Mami’s texturing skills. She used to always have so amazing details on her gowns and designs, that you never saw them all on the first view. Every time when you look at them you will find another amazing detail, like the delicate, asian looking brocade on the “Talissah” gown. The huge ruffles, together with the long metal parts reminded me of exotic orchids. The head piece as well has this huge ruffles and some metal parts and it comes with a wonderful tiara looking jewelry as well. Wit the flexi parts at the gown and as well attached to the bracelets, it got a very dreamy touch for me, too.

The dress was made for Talissah Xenga, one of the MVW candidates this year.

The amazing makeup – which I am using on my new “Simone” bento head from LeLutka – was made by Zibska.

The “Sirra” applier for mesh heads comes for LeLutka, TMP and as well for Omega compatible heads. Even the standard avatar heads can wear the tattoo version of it. The soft and spring looking colors with the darker, outer eye corner, just looked fantastic to the colors of the gown and still give kind of a nude look, that does not overlay the whole styling too much.

For the set I chose something more simple but as well something that made an impressive point to my look. I used the “Aerial Screw Parasol” because of with its top, it matched amazingly the asian touch of the gown. To enhance the dreamy feeling i got from the gown, I added the “Dancing Petals Dystopia” as well from e.V.E Studio.

Blogging can become such a lonely thing and it is so much fun to blog with friends.

So Tempest and me decided to have a monthly ‘friends post’ as it was so much fun last year to do the pictures together ๐Ÿ™‚

This time we decided to go with Blacklace, as we both blog for Blacklace and they recently had so many amazing new releases!

Tempest said it was her turn to take the picture and so we both styled the “Anais” lingerie. I chose the black one and styled it with the amazing “Lido Body” from [sys]. To cover the arms, since Tempe said outside shoot *giggles* I put the fur sleeves from Cashmere, that I got at their closing sale. For the shoes I wanted something high up the legs but as well something that does not cover up the amazing stockings and so I went with the “Bottlebrush” heels from Empire. With their delicate laced heels it was just perfect! The super cute “Annik” hair was made by EMO-tions.

Let it Snow! – Winterfun with [sys] & EMO-tions

We really got some freeze days over here in Germany the past few days and a lot of snow!

That kinda was one of the reasons, why I wanted to do a cold, winter look in a snowy environment :p

The amazing “Morisette” dress from [sys] was in the actual BishBox, which you can get just one more day before the new one will get released. The theme was ‘Wild Winter’. The BishBox is a monthly subscription box for the urban, crazy and wild girls of SecondLife. Every month 15 designers contribute for an amazing collection of wonderful items. All you need to do is just subscribe or preorder your box. No more window shopping, just unpacking a box of cool goodies ๐Ÿ˜‰

The mega cool necklace, comes from EMO-tions. I am totally in love with the “Hawk” necklace. It is a huge frame with an amazing non symmetric look, perfect for a casual style.

Because of the winter season I at least wanted to add a jacket, but not cover up the whole dress. So I chose one of the awesome “Jacket over Shoulders” from COCO.

For the shoes I wanted something flat, to get a more casual, cool look, but as well it should match the winter themed idea. In the end I chose some simple docs with two different high socks, which I found on Marketplace from Ducknipple. They have a huge color HUD for the shoes and the socks and the higher one just touched the bottom seam of the dress – perfect – as they would have been made for it.

The hair should be something loosely, smart looking and so I went with one of my favourite hair brands. KoKoLoReS always has some more extraordinary looking hairstyles, which look to me very modern and fashion forward with their wisps and wild looking strands.

I really do love my new bento head from LeLutka. The rigging is amazing and the animations do look so smooth, nice and realistic. I was not a LeLutka addicted before the bento heads but after testing most of the popular bento heads for over one week, I came to the conclusion that LeLutka definitely has the best one for me. It does support shaping in an awesome way even if you put your sliders to extreme sizes without breaking or destroying the mesh or make it look awkward. The price is as well fantastic for what you get. 5K for the full head with animations already in it and they even upgraded to an Omega support now. You can use all the amazing Omega appliers and they fit perfectly.

Since I was not using LeLutka heads before I had to upgrade my makeups a little and went to the great sale of La Boheme. There I found various, super cool eyeshadow and lipsticks. The “Stella” eyeshadow I am using for today’s post was one of them.

The location, is an amazing sim I found while I had one of my exploring days. It is called Neverfar. It is made with so much love to the detail and so many different corners that invite to spend a lot more time to explore than just for a few pics. I met the owner there when I was walking around and she was super nice and kind. It really was a wonderful experience and as well a very productive time ๐Ÿ˜‰

Temptation in Black & Red

Today I have some amazing news from *ROMP* for you!

It was about time for a black & red styling I guess and with the new items from ROMP it was just perfect timing ๐Ÿ˜‰

To me this round of ROMP is a very exciting one as we are allowed to participate for the first time with our store as well. I will probably do a post of our design as well but for now I would like to showcase some of the super awesome items I found there.

What caught my eyes as soon as I saw the vendor picture, was the amazing “Carmen” coat made by [sys]. The knee long open coat is decorated with an amazing fur looking fabric. You have 2 different versions available in each pack for the fur part. It comes fitted for all popular mesh bodies.

The amazing, delicate lingerie I am wearing underneath, comes from chocolate atelier (::c.A::). Chocolate Atelier usually provides the lingerie as system body layers, tattoo layers as well as appliers for Slink, Maitreya and Omega. For this post I used the “Nadia” lingerie in black but you can purchase it as well in red or white.

For the stockings I chose one of my favourite brands… AviCandy. They are always very well made without any seams – except the wanted ones in the back – and just look so realistic with their wonderful filigree lace decoration at the upper thighs. AviCandy provide for their nylons usually 2 different versions – one more opaque and one sheer one.

For the shoes I used the “Parrasana” heels from Glamistry. They might not be brand new but still brand hot with their special heel :p.

Let’s take a closer look at the strong makeup I chose for today’s look. Normally I am a fan of either bold eyes OR lips and rarely use both but the look kinda called for a more dramatic looking makeup.

The stunning, dark smokey eyes were made by Zib Scaggs, owner and designer of Zibska. I am using the m aitreya applier of the “Selise” HUD. Zibska is definitely a must go for the new “Simone” bento head from LeLutka. Zibska offers a wide range of incredible makeup designs for that head, that just fits amazing. You will not only find a LeLutka applier HUD in the pack, there also is an Omega, Catwa or TMP one as well plus still all the system layer tattoos.

The great, deep and dark lipstick is one of the newest releases from je suis. Yes you heard right – Julia Merosi, owner and designer of je suis, is back! And she already made stunning new things including the “LeLutka Lips 006”, which she released at the actual round of the Chapter 4. The perfectly fit the “Simone” head and you can even play with the gloss and the blending to get the perfect result for your look.

For the set I mainly wanted to play with projectors and lights in different colors (thanks to Leah for teaching me some more about self made projectors!).

As a basic furniture I put down the new “Neo Victorian Sofa”, that you can get at ROMP as well made by 22769. It comes in different colors and as PG or adult version – for today’s post I just went with the black PG version, as I anyways wanted to play with other poses, even if the sofa has great inbuilt animations that you can play with via a touch menu. The curtains, that I used for the golden accents are as well made by 22769.

ROMP has some great goodies this round so it is definitely worth a visit ๐Ÿ˜‰

Styling Challenge – It is all about a Bow!

Ok… I admit I am a little bot crazy sometimes :p, but most of you know that anyways ๐Ÿ˜‰

Anyways, today the reason for my style and pictures was a wonderful head bow.

A friend gave it to me, it is part of her new gacha and when I saw it, I just HAD to think about a ways how I could showcase it ๐Ÿ˜‰

So, where to start with… first of all, put the bow on. That already was a hard choice, because Twelve gave me not only one to choose from :p. In the end I decided to go with the”Black Snow” one. I always had an addiction for black, white and red so that one just really caught me.

First I thought about a lingerie styling for the bow only and went through my lingerie folder, where I found the “Claire” teddy set from Blacklace. When I did put it on, I realized only lingerie would not be what I would like for the ‘Bow style’ and I started experimenting with several ideas.

I tried some dresses and gowns, they all looked nice, but maybe too nice and smooth ๐Ÿ˜‰

Then I found the “Hisa” leather leggings from Lassitude & Ennui in my leggings folder and with the black and white combination they looked amazing to the bow, but had a serious break/collision at the hips with the lingerie. I needed something to cover that up without hiding one of both. Next step – I typed ‘shorts’ in the search field of my inventory. Oh man… I better should not have done that… I did not even realize before how many ‘shorts’ I have…

Ok… focus Wicca… focus… you need something to cover the waist area. Maybe some high waist shorts would be a good idea! Back to the search window – ‘belted shorts’

Bingo! The “Celine” shorts from Asteria popped up as oe of the first and when I tried them on, I knew those would be the ones to use.

Now the arms looked a little bare and I thought about some kind of jacket. After trying some long-sleeved jackets, which usually were either close or too close in the front, I came across the “Neith” jacket, made by [sys].

That amazing jacket with the scales looking fabric and the short sleeves was just perfect, with the great open front. That even gave room for the amazing necklace from Empyrean Forge.

A tattoo for the arms came to my mind first, but after trying som of my favourite tattoos, I realized I need something more subtile. The amazing slit and sheer sleeves from the “Occult Jacket” just matched awesome under the short sleeves of the “Neith” jacket from [sys].

Looking at the style from all sides I really was happy with it, just some shoes were missing. No high boots, that would take off too much from the leggings, but pumps or stilettos would be too ‘tiny’. All of a sudden an ankle boots came to my mind, which I got longer ago and never had a chance to wear them. The super cute “Wicked” shoes from Moon Elixir. They even come with an amazing socks option!

PERFECTAMENTE!

With that weird mix and match, I got the feeling, that no location, that I know of would fit and so I started to build my own little set for the picture. The “Kira” sculpture from E.V.E Studio is an ultra rare of one of Noke’s gachas. First I thought it would be too huge, but with the great liquid looking ground part it worked out so nicely. I added the “Ivy Bonsai” and some parts of the “Chained Roses”. First it looked like a whole mess, as I am not the greatest set builder, but after some moving and twisting and turning it fell into place ๐Ÿ˜‰

I never made a style based on just one hair bow, but I have to admit, that style would have never come together like this, if I would not have started with the bow :p

Maybe I should do that more often again… just start with a little accessory and see what it does lead me to!

Merry Christmas with Blacklace & Glamistry

I never did any Christmas posts with lingerie I guess so I thought, this year I finally could have one :p

Maybe it was not that, but the fact that I am stuck at home with pneumonia till christmas and all of a sudden my day is so long, that I can play around with stylings more than I ever expected right before Christmas ๐Ÿ˜‰

Usually the days before Christmas are very hectic in RL. In school we need to finish the last Christmas presents for the parents, music students want to have a Christmas concert or I need to run for some last-minute presents… that all was wiped out all of a sudden, when I got told “You will stay at home on the couch, no cold air, no huge activities” by the doctor.

I never had pneumonia before and I have to admit it sucks.. all that weird coughing and fever that makes me feel dizzy and tipsy… horrible. I love my work and I enjoy my life! So being stuck on the couch is probably the most ugly thing I can imagine.

I was called a bad patient before, for being not patient enough and just laying down until I am better.. but hey… life is too short for just laying down and doing nothing!

When I saw the amazing group gift with the cute santa hat at Argrace, I did know, I wanna do a sexy Holidays post ๐Ÿ˜‰

I put on the super sexy “Vivian Candy Cane” lingerie from Blacklace, which just was released for Christmas ๐Ÿ˜‰ I always admired the amazing details and filigree textures of Blacklace lingerie and with that sweet ensemble Blacklace reinvented one of their amazing lingerie sets. The awesome shoes are made by Glamistry and with the huge roses on the top of the peep toes it matched perfect in cuteness to the hair and the lingerie ๐Ÿ˜‰

To have some gold added to the holy days.. I used the “Faith” jewelry from EMO-tions, that reminded me of the little Christmas tree balls my grandma always had on her Christmas tree.

The furniture and deco I used for the set I mostly found in my “MadPea Christmas Calendar 2016”. That calendar was so much fun with all the quality gifties in it… I just can recommend it for all for the next year if they do it again ๐Ÿ˜‰

Fame with Roses & Chains

I have no clue how I came on the idea for this pictures… but it was fun :p

I know I saw that roses at Skye’s place when we did a shooting and remembered I got those too. When I saw them again, I so wanted to do something with them and when I unpacked a few boxes I found the perfect dress and all of a sudden everything fell together ๐Ÿ˜‰

But lets start from the beginning…

This time it was not an outfit that started the whole idea, it really was a set I was playing around with. I started with the “DYSTOPIA Chained Roses” from E.V.E Studio. I found so many parts in the folders… different roses with chains, standalone petals and as well several colors… I decided to go with the bronze ones as I loved the red touch paired with either a golden or a black chain. While I was playing around with arranging the roses I came across the “Splashing Droplets” in gold, which just matched the “Chained Roses” perfectly.

ย When I unpacked the “FAME” dress from [sys]which you can find at the actual round of The Liaison Collaborative and saw the chains at the high cut on the left side… I did know that was the right dress for that picture ๐Ÿ˜‰

The dress is a very simple one BUT with great asymmetric details. The left arm is covered by a long sleeve while the right arm is totally bare. The left side has a high slit which is decorated with many rows of chains.

Another great detail I would love to focus as well. The amazing rings and hand bands from Formanails. Formanails does the most incredible hand jewelry and nails I ever saw. Most of the designs are made for either Maitreya or Slink Casual or Slink Formal hands.

Overall the whole scenery with the looks and the set looked weird and cool the same time to me so I just had fun to take some pics and see what comes out ๐Ÿ˜‰ It was a new feeling to me, to style according to a set instead of the other way round *giggles*. It was a great experience and as well some kind of a new challenge for me, maybe I should do that more often ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ninja 3

Kunoichi s a modern term for a female ninja or practitioner of ninjutsu (ninpo).

The term is thought to derive from the names of characters that resemble the three strokes in the kanji character for woman (ๅฅณ onna); said in the order they are written: ku (ใ) – no (ใƒŽ) – ichi (ไธ€). Early literary quotes include Enshลซ Senkuzuke Narabini Hyakuin (้ ่ˆŸๅƒๅฅ้™„ๅนถ็™พ้Ÿต?) (1680) as well as Maekuzukeshลซ (ๅ‰ๅฅไป˜้›†?) (1716), which specifically associates the word with the kanji ๅฅณ supporting the etymology. The “ใใƒŽไธ€” writing requires the use of one character from each Japanese character set – first hiragana, then katakana, then kanji. While hiragana and kanji can exist in the same word, katakana generally cannot appear in conjunction with the others. There are exceptions to this, for example in “ใ‚ดใƒŸ็ฎฑ” and “ๆถˆใ—ใ‚ดใƒ ”.

Female ninja are mentioned in Bansenshukai, a 17th-century Japanese book compiling the knowledge of the clans in the Iga and Kลga regions devoted to the training of ninja. According to this document, the primary function of female ninja was espionage, finding legitimate service positions in the households of enemies, to accumulate knowledge by gaining trust or overhearing conversations. One historically accepted example of this is Mochizuki Chiyome, the 16th century noblewoman with ninja roots who was tasked by the warlord Takeda Shingen with recruiting women to create a secret network of a few hundred female spies.

Sometimes if you just put on one item, you immediately get an idea what you want to do with it… I am sure all of you had that happen at least once. Something like this happened to me when I put on the “Isis” collar and skirt from [sys].

When I put it on, I immediately had the vision of a ninja/asian inspired look. I remembered the awesome “Mei” hair from EMO-tions – that was sold on the south-asia inspired round of On9 – which I decorated with the cool “Albedo Horns” from Ayashi.

To cover my chest, since the feathers of “Isis” collar did not reach down far enough, I used the “Tigress Top” from Apple May Design. As it is a mesh body applier it fit perfectly under the feathers. Certainly a tattoo cannot miss when I style something like this :p This time I wanted something special and so the silver “Genius” tattoo from White Widow was the perfect match. I never made a secret out of it, that White Widow is my favourite tattoo brand… did I? *grins*

I thought a little bit until I got the idea… but certainly a warrior needs some armor ๐Ÿ˜‰ At least some that looks great for the pictures*giggles*

[LAB737] makes the most amazing armor parts I ever saw. So detailed and as well used looking makes them very realistic and I could not resist to add parts of the “Dragoon” armor to my left arm.

Now the most complicated to get good pictures – I needed a good Katana and as well cool poses which did not just look like fighting. Certainly I could have sat hours and hours and make me some but then… still the good Katana would be missing since I just had som super old prim ones who kinda looked disgusting for nowadays standard. So I did what I usually do when I am looking for something special… I went to SL Marketplace ๐Ÿ™‚

I found a very little store, with just a few items for sale on MP and instantly fell in love with the “Katana Pose Collection”. A whole set with many variations of 10 different poses and 2 amazing handcrafted Katanas. Even more I was surprised that they were made for a female warrior, so exactly what I wanted. The poses do look more show or performance like than, fighting itself and so they were the perfect animations for the pictures.

First I tried to build me a photo set, but soon I realized – I do not have the right items nor the knowledge of buildings and sceneries, that would suit the ideas and satisfy the styling. I jumped into the SL search and looked for places with key words like: japanese, warrior, ninja, katana and many more until I found “Kowloon”, a little island, which was empty when I arrived but the buildings and the garden was incredible beautiful. While I was shooting, the sim filled up more and more, but I did not see anyone around me and I became curious. I started to cam around, to spy silently, when I found an arena with a hell of a lot people who had begun a fight. I was so excited to see that, to see them fighting with Katanas and all kind of asian weapons, that I stopped shooting for a bit and just watched without disturbing them. I had so much fun watching them, that I nearly forgot to finish my shooting. It was an amazing afternoon and as well a lot of fun and I enjoyed the trip to a past time, that is totally new to me.
