For my first but certainly not last post, I would like to showcase the contribution of devousMind to the ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ hunt. Chandra Meehan, owner and designer of !dM, made an amazing corset outfit for the hunt.  The very colorful corset made of all the rainbow colors. The awesome frilled white pants, the sweet collar, the white fishnet tights and the sweet net train that brings back all the sweet colors 😉

For me, the usually black loving person it was not immediately comfortable to be so colorful, but one by one I got used to it. First I added the yellow version of the “Piccadilly Overknee Boots” from LeeZu when I came across the super cool “Codie” hair from Discord Designs. It had a rainbow colored  version in it and it was going perfectly with the “Valentina” corset from !dM. Each hair color of the gacha coes with a “Ripley” black hairbase. The “Codie” hairstyle was made for the gacha at the ’24’ event and usual colors will follow at the Discord Designs Mainstore after the event. To add my little rebel to the whole look i decided to go with one of the newest tattoos from White Widow. Julie Hastings made some new body tattoos, wich as well come with a tango applier for all those who love the new mesh boobies.

For the picture I wanted to go crazy with colors and items so I decided to put a lot of colorful candy behind and around me. I got a little bit the feeling of “Wicca in Wonderland” as I added the way too big teapot and the huge muffins and lollipops*giggles*

The “Somewhere over the Rainbow” hunt is definitely worth a try, as many amazing designers put incredible colorful items for the hunters.

Chop Zuey: Art in Second Life ;)

The idea for this post was born when I  visited the Arts in Hats event, that was happening not too long ago. Belle Roussel, owner and designer of Chop Zuey, made the wonderful “In Memory of a Watermelon Fascinator” for that event and from the moment I saw it, I had the imagination of being in a museum watching art.

The wonderful “La Traviata” gown as well is one of the newest creations of Chop Zuey. Belle started to make full gowns with matching jewelry parts not too long ago and opened her new Sky Boutique, where you can find all this amazing creations. The “La Traviata” gown is available in different colors but with my addiction to black clothing, I certainly picked the black version for the post 😉 The wonderful black gown is mesh made and the amazing jewelry parts, like the upper end of the gloves, the beautiful shoulder part, as well the earrings, bracelets and the necklace are part of the gown. Basically Belle made a ready to wear outfit for all lovers of the elegant evening wardrobe ;).

The hat is one of the amazing creations of Xenobia Foxclaw. She made an amazing collection of black and white hats and the “Blackwell No. 6” is just one of them. So you might wanna go over to the Xen’s Hats Mainstore if you wanna see ll of the new releases ;).

The hair is one of the amazing hairstyles of EMO-tions. The “Chevia” hairstyle was made in a special color for Miss Chevia, as she won the auction of the FFL event, where Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions, auctioned herself off for charity. I am very happy that Mirja now gave this hairstyle to all of us as, it is an amazing elegant hairstyle that still has some edges 😉

Now I just had to try building a little to realize my imagination of the museum at night thing 🙂 . Those who know me, might figure what it took until I had those few prims together and some texture on it. Usually if I try to build you have something apocalyptic looking something where you really have to have a good imagination to figure out what I wanted to do originally *laughs*. But after some hours it worked out somehow and … tatataaaaa… here it is 🙂

My personal favourites of MVW2013 – National Costume of Puerto Rico 2013 by EMO-tions

Miss Virtual World 2013 – Again BoSL showcased an amazing event on December the 15th 2013, with the finale of the MVW 2013 contest. Many countries were represented by amazing ladies and it was really an exciting event. Designers and models worked together for their 2 final looks. One evening gown and one national costume for each lady. Every year when I saw the MVW finale it was an exciting moment to see the results, that designers and models worked on for so many weeks. Last year I took the challenge to make a full catalogue of all the gowns and costumes. The idea must have inspired some bloggers this year and they started to do that for the MVW 2013 designs. I decided for my own not to do the same again and just would like to showcase my personal favourites. First I thought about to do my personal top 12, but then I figured that I like more than 12 and just thought about doing all the ones that really caught my attention in no particular order :)

This year at the MVW finale some of the girls dared to be a little different, with bringing historical female fighter’s and strong women’s characters on the MVW stage.On eof them was Miss V Puerto Rico 2103, Miss Hezabel Blackheart. Her national costume was created by Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions. Hezabel could not have made a better choice than asking Mirja for her national costume. EMO-tions always stood for great, quality RP clothing and many fighters, vampires and lovers of the special outfits went to Mirja‘s store if they needed special and extraordinary clothing or hair. So the “Anacaona” outfit and the matching hair, as well made by EMO-tions, made an extraordinary and strong look on the MVW 2013 finale stage. Hezabel and Mirja did a great research on the country she represented and as she was talking about her inspiration my ears were all hers 🙂

Hezabel Blackheart:

“My Costume is inspired by a great Taíno chief named: Anacaona. Anacaona became chief after her brother’s death. Her husband Caonabo, was captured and shipped to Spain, dying in a shipwreck during the journey. The Taínos, being ill-treated by the conquerors, revolted. During a feast organized by eighty-four regional chieftains to honor Anacaona, who was friendly to the Spaniards, the Spanish Governor Nicolás de Ovando ordered the meeting house to be set on fire. He arrested Anacaona and her Taíno noblemen — all of whom, being accused of conspiracy, were executed. While the others were shot, Anacaona was executed by hanging. She was twenty-nine years old. The Taíno tribes were all one and the same tribe all over many Caribbean islands. From the island, then and now,..I bring you the gift of the Coqui.. a native small frog that is exclusive to the wildlife of the island.”
