Meiling – RL Designs are brought to SL!!!

Lately I had the great honor to be invited to the press conference of the introduction of Meiling to Second Life. It was very exciting to hear a really great RL designer talk about making her way into SL. Her words really catched my soul and everyone that was taking part got one or her amazing outfits packed in a little gift box that were laying on the chair. In my little box was a wonderful gown called “Midnight at Maracas” An amazing black summer gown, perfect for the actual season. At the press conference we saw pics of the RL designs that were made for SL and I have to admit Meiling did an amazing job to bring her creations to SL, very detailed and realistic.

Meiling is the premier RL designer of the Caribbean. She is renowned for her work in fine linens
and natural fabrics.  Her style is minimalist but with close attention to the detailing of every piece, whether beading, embroidery, or a razor-sharp pleat.
Although each item produced is unique–a black dress or a crisp white shirt, a bespoke wedding dress or a men’s linen jacket—the end result is always a sophisticated garment marked by superior workmanship.
The list of local, regional and international celebrities who wear her clothes include celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck and Miss Universe 1998 Wendy Fitzwilliam.

Meiling: ” I am very excited to have a presence in SL and to bring my designs in here for the residents. I am fascinated by this incredible platform of creativity and community and  totally ‘get it’ why people love being here. We have worked hard to translate my designs to the SL standards and to make sure that it looks as good or even better than the real thing”

News by Sascha’s Design: Evil Chick – a must have for todays fashionista :)

Sascha’s Design again created a multi possibility outfit for the evil chick looking fashionista 😉 The basic, which all combinations go are white pants with an awesome detailed belt. For the top you have 5 different styles you can play with and the awesome jacket is made of sculpted prims. For the top that I wear under the jacked I chose the corset looking one without any sleeves.

One version of the amazing black and white top is a longsleeved one with an amazing neck collar.

The third option is a very sexy one without sleeves and a sweet hole at the cleavage. The texture is lightly different and let it look a bit darker in complete.

The longsleeve option we had before can be word as a short one as well with the same amazing neck collar. The last version is a non usual one that has a free belly and just very slim lines over the shoulders. Overall Sascha’s Design again created a wonderful outfits that can be mixed in different styles and looks and you will be always dressed right for what ever you plan to go 🙂

Lexi Vargas for “Claim the Fame”: Week 7 – Urban & Streetwear

For the 7th week of Claim the Fame the designers had to create a Urban or Steetwear attire for male and female and make a description that was read during the TV show on Metaverse TV. (http://metaversetv.com/blog/2011/05/claim-the-fame-7/)

All designs are available at the KULT District (for slurl please click here)

Lexi Vargas:” The male outfit is called News Flash and the female one is called Headline.”

What is black and white and red all over? This boldly graphic Newsprint set of Urban Chic Fashion, that´s what.

Both the man and the woman wear short cut newsprint jacket lined in quilted satin and low hip belt of chrome and red leather. The special touches of tights for the lady and a “Glee” inspired tee shirt for the man keep this set up to the minute trendy.

Inga Wind:”Cross the street with ease wearing the Lucas outfit,  including sculpted loose baggy pants with cuffed flares strapped on the sides. Its black short-sleeved hoodie top with navy accents and lion print on the chest reveals the covered cap, giving some shelter from the summer sun in the city. ”

Lara is a navy casual strapless minidress, fastened with a belt, featuring a black undershirt and matching leggings.  Enriched by a sculpted vest with a few fancy pockets to hide your secrets, the outfit is finished with a crowning visor.

Lexi Vargas for “Claim the Fame”: Week 6 – Cyber & Future Couture

For the 6th week of Claim the Fame the designers had to create a Cyber or Future Couture attire for male and female and make a description that was read during the TV show on Metaverse TV. (http://metaversetv.com/blog/2011/05/claim-the-fame-6/)

Lexi Vargas: “‘Cybabe’ is the feminine half of the Cyborg couple. Her geometic designed human clothes are yellow and white and she sports a shoulder guard for that fashionable touch.  With her cyborg parts  showing thru her  ragged human skin she looks  eerily beautiful and mechanically stylish .”

“In the future its less about what you wear on your skin and more about the hardwear under it. The human skin has been artfully torn to show the  full of circuits, wires  and Alien type imagery below. Over the top of that is worn the bare minimum of clothing arranged in bandaged stripes of dark and light blue – just enough to cover the human parts and allow the cyborg parts to shine and sparkle through.”

Inga Wind: “Reminiscent of Classic Art Deco styling, models Oralee Fairey & Greywolf Fairey portray the timelessness of these designs.  Undoubtedly, this classic apparel will surely enjoy a return to popularity in future fashion years.  Oralee is wearing ‘Dee’ and Greywolf is wearing ‘Del’….both outfits taking this classic design many years ahead.”

“The colours of the outfits are matching, enhancing a future where all are in harmony. The abilities of their argumented reality eyewear allowing them to communicate within the blink of an eye … they may also control their iPOD version 23´s by thought alone, very important … !”

SynsualSyn Sawson for “Claim the Fame”: Week 6 – Cyber & Future Couture

For the 6th week of Claim the Fame the designers had to create a Cyber or Future Couture attire for male and female and make a description that was read during the TV show on Metaverse TV. (http://metaversetv.com/blog/2011/05/claim-the-fame-6/)

SynsualSyn Sawson: “Fifth Element Bride by Synsual Sawson sets a new standard for brides with this futuristic avante garde piece. It redefines the traditional skirt by bringing it up and imposing silver, interlocking spades further accentuated by a semi-opaque lace under skirt which accentuates the feminine curve and legs. The lace continues up over the fabric of the bodice with an irregular trim detail and matching spade interlock over the heart at the bust. The outfit is accessorized with a flowing, triple layered veil, held in place by a headband for maximum framing of the bride’s face. The spades show up again, in a much simpler form, giving the illusion of a delicate flower to the harder edges in the skirt and bust ornament.”

The prince has arrived for the royal wedding in Fifth Element Mens by Synsual Sawson. Reminiscent of the vanguard elite for which avante garde is named for, the look incorporates an imperial military aesthetic. The brass-colored accents on the collar provide a masculine edge, imitating a sun’s rays t o flatter the feminine silver of its partner outfit. The groom’s masculinity is further heightened by broadening the shoulders with decorate shoulder pads and the addition of two long, vertical lines of brass-colored decals that lengthen the chest and back. The dark jacket falls to the upper thigh, clasped by a thick clunky chain at the waist, contrasting the delicate interlocking spade sun ornament with its diamond center. The dual lined decals appear again in the dark pants, heightening the curve of the thigh and calf.

Luminous additions such as crinoline and collar add to the ‘FUTURISTIC’ factor in this outfit.  Much detail has been applied to every aspect of the ensemble. Neon and black  mesh  has been stitched into every leather panel of the  train.  Body modifications are done with taste and great care to accentuate the outfit and not distract. This outfit is something you would see at the  Slimelight in London.  To complette this outfit  the skin hair and boots are included.

Misantropiac Cyber Demon will command attention for any man wearing this.  Special details applied to every leather, latex and chain portion of this ensemble.  Cyber kilt is adorned with UV-reactive materials and complimented by the adrogynous adornments. Mayden Ushimawa:” The theme this week is very creative. I concentrated more on the creation of attach and less in the creation of the dress. I wished minimum one more week to refine and enrich all prims attach.

I thought about the future, where everything is possible (with the imagination) and I wanted to represent two robotics human , with features that are only science fiction.
The clothes are in latex, for the woman I used my favorite colors: white and fuxsia,
while for men blue and for the glow parts I wanted to use yellow to contrast.

…How know if one day the technology will come to this!”

Nefertiti Kimagawa:” We are now going to head to a Cyber club that is literally Cyber.  Nik Is that club’s most popular dj and with his turntables on him, he roams the dance floor playing the hits of the year 2157.  His body is beginning to digitize and turning him into a hologram that can only mean one thing, the party is really about to get started!

On the hovering dance pads, Luna is dancing to beat in her glowing pink outift.  Like Nik, Her body is beginning to digitize into a hologram.”
