Styling around a hat?

Lately I had a show wich gave me some nice challenge during the styling.

Usually we get an outfit and have to style around with hair, accessories, shoes and poses. This time we just got hat as a basic and it should kinda be the center of your looks.

I was sitting down first and looked at all those hats and tried to imagine a time frame for them to be in and then slowly looks grew in my head for each one.

The difficulty mainly was, to not loose the hat in the look. The hat as a very little part on your head still had to stay kinda as the main focus.

One of my hats was the “Soleil” hat from Miamai, made for the Art in Hats 2014 event. This wonderful purple hat with the peacock feather decoration on the left side of the hat. The hat has a very young and modern look so I wanted to try to kinda develop a new and modern 80s look for it as the colors called so much for the 80s.

I wanted to kinda pull the purple and green through the whole styling so I decided to wear the cool “Moxie” outfit from PurpleMoon as it gives the basic 80s look for me with the jacked that has those huge shoulder parts and the amazing huge belt that I remember very well for the 80s together with some tight leggings 😉

So the purple part was covered and I just had to set some accents in green to bring the peacock feathers back into the center. That happened with the amazing earrings I found on marketplace and the kick ass “Summer Breeze Flips” shoes from PurpleMoon wich were part of the Le’Accessories event.

The awesome apple-green nail polish I found in the “Bright Set” from Nailed It! and the perfect finish for my look made the “Wicca Lips” in apple from Silken Moon.

LOTD 07/02/2014 – Teal Dreams

You sit there, wear one thing after another from your inventory and try to fins something that inspires you. Sometimes you find one piece and nothing to add to it. But sometimes you just put one part and all of a sudden the rest of it just falls together 😉

Like it was today. I again put on the “Moxie” outfit from Purple Moon, wich was sold at The Instruments in the June 2014 round. I already saw it blogged a few times in pink and red so I wanted to go for a nother amazing color of this sexy ensemble. My choice fell on teal. I always had a weakness for black and teal maybe because of my cyber addiction 😉

The “Moxie” outfit comes with the top, belt and skirt, wich is one mesh part and the layer leggings. With those edgy shoulder parts this jacked took my heart right away. The huge belt with the big buckles at the front reminded me on some of those amazing 80s styles and with the leggings it just completed the vision. So there was not much of a thinking needed to use the super cool high plateau shoes called “Summer Breeze Flips”. The shoes are made for the slink high feet only and will not work without them.

With a HUD you can change the colors of the sole, the inner part of the show and as well the little straps.

To even more go towards the 80s direction I took my new “Punk” nails from Formanails. The nails have 2 parts. Once the sharp stiletto form nails wich can be changed in color for all of those, that are colored black in my post. The golden ones will stay for each color. The second part are the amazing rings, piercings, skulls, studs and accessories.

Those “Punk” nails are made for the slink mesh hands only with just the avatar hands it will not look properly. You can get those amazing nails and rings for the casual, elegant and elegant 1 version of the sklink hands.

As you can see on my wrist, I as well used some jewelry. This time it was parts of the “Iris” set from Finesmith.

Maybe the best to describe the feeling I had would be to quote Cyndi Lauper with “Girls Just Want To Have Fun!”

Scary Autumn with PurpleMoon & EMO-tions

I know Halloween is already over, but this year my RL movement and a tour with a band did hold me back from posting all the amazing Halloween stuffs, so I decided to still post them 😉

Autun for me is kinda my favourite season. The days are short, the ambience gets dark and cold. If you go out for a walk you will feel the special mood that you only get in that times. The leaves fly around kissed by the wind, sometimes light rain tickles your face and fog lays heavy over the meadows and grounds.

The “Black Widow” dress was the Halloween special of this year by PurpleMoon. A short sexy dress with amazing spider legs in the skirt. The top looks like a tight body with just one arm and the cute tights with the sweet dots added some playful touch to the dark and scary outfit. The necklace as well is from PurpleMoon, as well as the boots. The “Widow” boots are the perfect match for the dress.

The mask as well comes with the “Black Widow” outfit. A simple black mask that goes very well with the rest of the outfit without overdoing it. The huge spiderweb headpiece perfectly catches the spider necklace and the spider legs at the skirt.

For the hair I added one of the newer releases from EMO-tions. The “Illusion” hair style with the loosely wisps for me added the perfect wild attitude 😉

Wicca’s Wardrobe: How I put my looks together? Sometimes I do not even know by myself ;)

Sometimes I get asked how I start styling and if I could describe what I do. For the usual fashion stylings I can at least try to explain what I do one after another as you usually follow certain rules when you put a look together that you got asked for. Sometimes you follow the standard color schemes or you style after an RL look that you saw somewhere, or you use some other source of inspiration. But there is days, at least for me, where I do not have anything requested and start going through my inventory. Sometimes I get stuck with an item, an accessory, and wanna turn this in a whole look. But when I try to go by the first idea, that this detail gave me, I get stuck and do not really know what I can do to complete it, without looking boring or stereotype with so many others that were wearing that item before. And who wants to see the same item over and over again in the same way?

For today it ws the “Hunter Headdress” headpiece from XtraX, that caught my attention. I found it longer ago on the “I <3 RP” event. I was looking for horns as the “Hunters Headdress” fell into my hands. I could not resist to buy it, even if I had no idea yet what I am going to use it for. Sometimes things have to rest in your inventory for a while like a good bottle of red wine before you have the perfect idea how you wanna use it :p .

I was sorting my inventory as I came across the headpiece and I just put it on to see how it fits as it part wise mesh. Then I stood there at my studio – naked, only wearing that headpiece and tried to imagine a styling. If I would have used my first idea I would have tried some fantasy looking, but I kinda wanted to have something more realistic. The “Hunters Headdress” headpiece combines so many different fabrics and items, the leather, the suede parts, the horns and the little accessories on the horns. I remembered an old Benetton advertise campaign and this idea kinda got stuck in my head. United Colors of Benetton always had chic casual clothing. So I looked through a few of my last folders I got for blogging and found the “Brandy” mesh dress from PurpleMoon. The colors were perfect matching the headpiece.

Since I did not want to go too sexy, I added some leggings as I like the way how short dresses or hot-pants go together with leggings or tights. Maybe that’s something I still carry with me from the 80’s :p . For the shoes I had some boots in mind, that I had for a long time, a time where mesh was not yet on the grid and those sculpties was one of the first and best ones I saw, when it came to realistic looking shoes. I did know, that they were from Hoorenbeek, but I could not recall the name of them. Since I had an addiction to this brand for quiet some time, I do not have just one pair and so I started looking through my Hoorenbeek shoe folder. Finally I found the “Lucille” boots in the tan/beige color. The brown and creme tone was a wonderful match in my opinion. With the mask there is no need to look for hair, makeup or earrings so I just wanted to ad some bracelets and maybe a necklace. For the necklace I recalled the last releases from EMO-tions back to my mind. There was a new mesh necklace from Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions, that should match the look. A not too elegant but excellent made long modern necklace called “Precious”, in the colors green, brown and silver parts in different shapes.

When I looked at the result I really was not sure what it should be and how I can orchestrate this for a picture. That does not mean I did not like it but with such a controverse look, I needed something strong, lightly dark and kinda grunge looking. I saw such a place not too long ago and looked through my ‘Photo Places’ folder, till I found it again – “Old New York“

For the right poses I first wanted to make some, but then I remebered some of my Del May poses that should be perfect for this. Powerful, different and expressive, so why make poses when you aready have wonderful ones that perfectly fit 🙂 ?

The Runway Perfect Hunt #4 – Part 8

The Runway Perfect Hunt goes in it’s 4th round . Morgane Batista again made it, to get amazing designers to participate in one of the most famous hunts on the grid. Even if the title says “The hunt with models in mind” does not mean this hunt is limited to models only. All the amazing and versatile designs are amazing additions to everybody’s wardrobe, even the males will find some amazing hunt prizes in some locations This year the hunt is not a total freebie hunt, each hunt item costs $5 Linden. With a total of 50 shops you reach a maximum of $250 Linden, what is a great amount for so many amazing quality designs!

After being absent because of RL, I would like to show some more of the wonderful Runway Perfect Hunt items before the hunt is over.

My today’s focus would be the Mainstore of Bubble’s Design. Bubble made a wonderful dress for the hunt. The “Poems” dress is something super special. A sheer top that carry a wonderful poem on the front

“I’m by your side,
thinking you, walking you
I’m in your thoughts,
knowing that I am in you
I am for you,
to serve you and make you dream
‘m into you…”

and another one on the back

“I thought of you,
on your lips and desire,
in your eyes and silence,
in your skin and feelings,

The skirt is very flexible and it looks like it would have many parts that go down from the waist. For me the dress really was something special in the whole TRPH #4.

The beautiful makeup as well is part of TRPH #4. You will find the “Tresor” makeup at White Widow, the amazing store done my the photographer legend Julie Hastings. As much as she puts into her pictures she puts into her own creations like the “Tresor” makeup for the hunt. You will not only find the black and white version in the hunt item 😉 so hurry to see what else Julie put onto her TRPH #4 box 😉

The huge “Lovelyn” hair, that for me totally goes with the “Poems” dress, comes from EMO-tions. The “Dawn” necklace as well was made by the hand of Mirja Mills, owner and designer of EMO-tions.

The Runway Perfect Hunt #4 – Part 7

Today I would like to put the spotlight on Styles by Danielle. Dani made the wonderful “Lisa” pants for the perfect runway hunt. The dark blue pants with the white ornaments on the right leg and the little belt at the waist, give a basic for many different kind of styles. You can go for a harem look, something arabic or even for something more futuristic like I did. Since the pants are from Styles by Danielle, I thought mabye it would be a good idea to combine it with a top and jewelry as well made by Dani Plassitz, owner and designer of Styles by Danielle. The “Krony” earrings are the actual group gift of Styles by Danielle, the “Taj” bracelets and the “Mims” top as well are from Styles by Danielle. For the shoes I chose the “BAX Booties” and the hair is on of my long time favourites from PurpleMoon. A little focus I would like to put on the face decoration as well. Dahiel, owner and designer of PosESioN, is well known for his amazing poses, but lately he started again to make some amazing jewelry and acessories. The “Centaurus” set is one of his newest additions. Usually it has a wonderful horns nose piercing as well but for today I only used the horns that go to the forehead.

The Proud Butterfly

Once, a beautiful, shiny and colourful butterfly was flitting from one flower to another. She saw a baby elephant coming down the path. She flew to him and sat on his ear. The elephant asked, “Who are you? Where are you going?”

The butterfly proudly replied, “I am the most beautiful of all the butterflies. You are ugly and fat. Your body is heavy while I am delicate and light. People are jealous of my colourful wings. I can fly anywhere with these wings.”

The elephant calmly said, “I am glad to meet you.”

The butterfly went on, “There is no comparison between us. You have four legs but I have six. You have a trunk and I have something like that too but I use it to suck nectar from the flowers. You cannot do that.” Just then a strong wind blew and the butterfly could not keep her balance. She cried for help as she was flown away in the wind. But the elephant stood firmly on ground and thought, “I can see how pride has a fall.”

Yesterday I got amazing news from ][PULL][. Melissa46, owner and designer of ][PULL][, made a wonderful limited collection for February and the “Limited Herm Bodysuit” jumped into my eye in the moment I saw the picture of it. I put it on and I fell in love with it. It is not a total crazy outfit but the simplicity and the wonderful lace attachments just caught my heart.

I wanted to create a nice and simple but not boring look for the “Limited Herm Bodysuit” and I just added the “Bubble Glam Tights” from LeeZu. The “Karya” boots from Miamai came to my mind and I liked the way of the simple straps on the plain black boots.

While I was thinking about hair, I remembered a cool and smart-looking short hairstyle from EMO-tions‘ latest releases called “Anna 2”. The black and white theme really started to become fun and while i was looking for a head-piece the “Oda” headpiece from PurpleMoon fell into my hands again.

To complete my black & white look I added the “Westwood Contrast BW” makeup from LovelyMi , combines with 2 different lipsticks of Silken Moon that, I just put over each other and the wonderful “Superior” lashes from Redgrave. The “Aliza” earrings from SoliDea FoliEs in black and white made the perfect finish for this look.

For the poses I wanted to use something that goes with the simple style but not just casual poses. I remembered a set of PosESioN, that I got a while ago. After trying all of them I could not really decide wich ones I liked the most, so I just snapped all and thought on a little picture with all of them so you can see wich great poses are in the “Aliza” set from PosESioN 😉

My personal favourites of MVW2013 – Formal Gown of Iceland 2013 by Tres Beau & Chop Zuey

Miss Virtual World 2013 – Again BoSL showcased an amazing event on December the 15th 2013, with the finale of the MVW 2013 contest. Many countries were represented by amazing ladies and it was really an exciting event. Designers and models worked together for their 2 final looks. One evening gown and one national costume for each lady. Every year when I saw the MVW finale it was an exciting moment to see the results, that designers and models worked on for so many weeks. Last year I took the challenge to make a full catalogue of all the gowns and costumes. The idea must have inspired some bloggers this year and they started to do that for the MVW 2013 designs. I decided for my own not to do the same again and just would like to showcase my personal favourites. First I thought about to do my personal top 12, but then I figured that I like more than 12 and just thought about doing all the ones that really caught my attention in no particular order

The gown for Miss Virtual Iceland 2013 was made my Kimmera Madison, owner and designer of Tres Beau. I have to admit, as I was sitting there and watching the finale, this was one of those gowns that made me go “WOW”. The wonderful flowers and ruffles go so perfectly together and the color change from the bottom to the top just is made so carefully and with such an amazing feeling for the gradient. The combination of white, teal and the yellow of the flowers are awesome chosen. Again we can see that the long experience of Kimmera and her incredible skills for shapes and colors, let her made this beautiful gown.

The wonderful jewelry for “Miss Zaara123 ” gown are crafted by Belle Roussel, owner and designer of Chop Zuey. The “Eilifu” set with its amazing white pearls is the perfect addition to this stunning gown. The “Eilifu” set contains earrings, collar and bracelet.
