CyberPunk Fair is over – Sadly!

But I am not yet done with my cyber moods *giggles*. The event had so many awesome new designs and creations, I just cannot stop yet to play with what I got.

Today I had mega fun with the “Samurai Hoverboard” from UNGOD and the matching pose set from Poseidon. Gryphon Vendetta, owner and designer of both brands, included a  more simple looking board in the pose set but I loved the hover board and the katana so much from the UNGOD set that I had to cheat them in 😉

Again I have to say, how much I love Poseidon Poses. They are so full of energy and so well thought through, it really inspires a lot of you have such poses for pictures – they are really poses for special purposes!

And again I am happy to show you another side of the “Simone” head from LeLutka. I do not know how to say, but the “Simone” head, is one of the most versatile ones. I know that some call it edgy and not as smooth as other ones, but maybe that is exactly what I do love. Every skin gives you different looks and with using the editing sliders, you even can force that more. This time I wanted a cyberpunk look and with the blue skin and some modification tattoos it really got a light machine character. The lips do have an amazing shape. I am not a friend of too full lips for my look and with thinner lips most heads do look angry – but not “Simone”!

With the cool face mods from  -[TWC]- and the crone ,paired with some cool cyber looking eyes from CURELESS [+], the whole look really became freaking cool. The smart “EmoTech Lens 1” from Astara, is a sweet little thing too. You can decide with a HUD, what kind of smiley face you want to show on your lens, as well you can choose your color. The cool neko headpiece was made by the one and only Deccan Arida from [The Forge] and it certainly could not be missed for my cyberpunk style today 🙂

What caught my attention as well were the lipsticks from nox. They do give the lips that awesome plastic look and oyu have many colored to choose from.

After all I do hope Flair for Events will make the CyberPunk Fair an annual event as I really miss this kind of things and it was like heaven to find so many in one place 🙂

Golden Moments

This picture is something very special and as well unusual for me.

It was made not just for being a fashion showcase, but as well being something abstract and artistic. Originally it was made for the February Issue of the Eclipse Magazine, but I could not resist to fool a little more with it in Photoshop and tweak it a little more. First I thought about not posting it as it already was in the magazine, but I do love it so much that I finally decided to make a post out of it *grins*.

I felt different doing this kind of picture, that does not have the main focus on the avatar itself, but as well being not a landscape or furniture post either. It was more to focus on a feeling, that was in my head when I put on those amazing artistic parts from E.V.E Studio. It felt like something from outer-space, but still something vulnerable and romantic. I tried to express that with the pose and the few things I added to the “Elf-2255” designs.

I have no idea if I make sense by saying that, but I hope you can get what I mean *winks*

Waiting sometimes is so worth it…

Today I do have a premiere on my blog… It is the first post as a LeLutka blogger! For years I felt not confident with applying for LeLutka, I always felt like I am not yet there where I would stand behind myself enough to dare to apply for a blogger position for LeLutka. I do not know how to explain, it was just a feeling. Then I saw a picture of Mavi Beck – I know her a long time already… we met at AVENUE years ago –  on Flickr. I adore her art work, she has a very special feeling for shadow and lights in my view. When I looked at her stream again, I remembered that she is a LeLutka CSR and again the blogging desire for LeLutka came up to my mind. In her profile she as well stated she is a LeLutka Blogger Manager and so I went to my flickr, looked over my recent pictures, took a deep breath and dared to ask her what the conditions for blogging would be. As always she was super kind and nice – I do not remember that I saw her mad EVER – and told me, that LeLutka does work with Blogotex now too and that I could always fill in an application at the access point at the main store. Driven by my desire to blog for LeLutka, I TPed to their main store and while I was rezzing and looking for the access point sign, my doubts again fell back on me and I became a chicken again and TPed back home. I have no clue, why I feel that way when it comes to LeLutka, but I remember LeLutka always as one of the top stores of SL. Back when I started modeling, we had no mesh heads or bento or all that stuff and LeLutka was one of the most high class fashion brand with the top notch fashion ideas and not only for casual desires. Even back then I loved their creations already and blogged them a few times, when I was able to afford their designs (https://www.flickr.com/photos/wiccamerlin/4261277578/in/dateposted-public/ or https://www.flickr.com/photos/wiccamerlin/4449981194/in/dateposted-public/) Back I would not even dared to think about being a blogger for LeLutka, because I just started blogging and they only had super models and awesome graphical artists in their blogger group, but it always was a dream of mine…

Ok… back to the present 😉 So I was at home again thinking about, if I would bee good enough to apply for the blogger position at LeLutka. I guess it is the high respect I do have for the designers skills and the fact that LeLutka plays in the designer circle for so long and all of my old idols and icons of the modeling world back then did blog for them, made me judge about myself so hard. But after a few days of thinking about it, I thought that I would have nothing to loose by trying. Either they like my work or they don’t and so I went back to the LeLutka main store, hit the access button and filled the application. They already asked for a certain time period to allow them to review my application and so I forced myself to not look up Blogotex every 15 minutes, because iI was so nervous *blushes*

Even if they already asked for a certain period of time the longer I had to wait the more my doubts had party in my brain again… so when they pop-up in Second Life went up with a notification and the black letters on the blue background with the “Accepted” sentence, I jumped in my chair and started squealing, my partner asked me “If I would not have all the cups in the cupboard anymore” (a German quote – I don’t know if that would make much sense in English. When I put it into the translator I got “to have lost one’s marbles”). I really was uber happy and it was hard to calm down for me. I have no idea, I am not a child anymore, but in that moment I felt like one again. That again shows me, sometimes it is worth waiting until the time is right 🙂

I guess it is a no brainer to mention I had to start instant to work on the pictures for my first blog post. I chose “Korina” to be my first official LeLutka post. “Korina was the latest release for the Skin Fair this year and so I started to work on a shape first and then the hard choice of a skin came up. First I thought I would use the original skin, but the I thought, the original skin already is shown on the vendor and I have to be a little more creative and make ‘my’ Korina. To me “Korina” did not appear like a princess, more like a strong adult female with attitude and so I tried to bring Wicca to “Korina”, but not making her a sister… if that makes sense.

The head comes with the usual great quality standard HUD that LeLutka always provides, but you get something new with “Korina” as well. The HUD has now 2 different hair bases to chose from, based on the default SL UV maps. I will cross my fingers that maybe the older heads will get updated with that too, because I really love that feature 🙂

I will play now a littlemore with my new “Korina” head and who knows.. maybe we have another side of “Korina” here soon *winks*

Cyber & Sci-fi time again!

There is so many exciting events running at the moment, it is really hard to resist to not buy everything you see at those events… Especially if it is events like Black Fair, Epiphany, ACCESS or The Fantasy Faire even.

A few things I got nevertheless and they screamed cyberpunk/sci-fi for me 😉 I am still in my dark period with creating styles and pictures and the more I do, the more I enjoy it 🙂 With the dark and fantasy side of SL, I feel so much inspiration lately that I could post something every day if I would have the time to post process all my pictures. But since I wanted to use my easter holidays for learning new tricks in Photoshop, finishing pictures takes some time – even a little more with try and error these days *winks* The desire was to learn more about shading, lights and shadows and how they can be done realistic in Photoshop. I had some basic knowledge about that with a lot of layers, but I wanted to have a different result, something I saw a lot on flickr lately and that was why I forced myself to watch some tutorials and then try them instantly myself. I am not yet done completely with my research, but for today I was pretty satisfied how those new tips and ticks worked out.

The mega, amazing “Aeon Cyber Corset” is one of the latest releases from A&Y. I love the creations of Anabel Crystal, owner and designer of A&Y. She has a very special way for sci-fi and cyberpunk creations and I do love her skills for vinyl and leather clothing. The corset you can find at the actual round of the ACCESS event, while there is a matching top/jacket at the black fair, which I will have to showcase soon too (I saw that after I finished my styling for this post already).

The incredible “Voodoo” ears are as well a brand new release at the Black Fair. I love the ears of Eclipse Art Studio and Shina Shan never stop to amaze me with every new release. She always has another cool idea for the accessories of her ears. This time it was that little voodoo doll, that she added to the earlobes as an earring. The voodoo doll can be purchased as a single earring as well if you do not want to have the long elf ears ;). I love how easy you can tint the ears to match your skin and the possibility of all the tattoos you can add really make those ears so versatile.

For a strong, powerful outfit you need super cool boots and those I found with the “Roxy” boots from [Gos]. The boots are part of a gacha, which is a collaboration of [Gos ] and Lybra. I will have a post for that gacha and all of it’s beauty soon – the boots just matched so awesome with my look, that I could not resist to already use them *blushes* The thigh high boots are super tight and have an amazing laced back. Certainly there are more colors available than just black in the gacha 😉

For the location I was trying first to set up something by myself, but this time I did not wanna come together as I desired it and so I made may way out to see if I could find a cyberpunk sim for my pictures. First I tried Cocoon, which is amazingly built but for non group members you have no rez rights and I wanted to use my pose stand this time. I need to go back another time as they really do have amazing spots for pictures and the sim rules even allow photographers as long as you wear an OOC titler, which you can find at the landing spot.

I did remember, that Insilico had rezzing open at least for rezzing a pose stand top hop on. The auto-return kicks in after a few minutes, but as long as you sit on your stand, you are safe. Just do not get scared when you are done and stand up as the stand will be returned to your lost and found folder.

After I could not decide about a perfect spot and had shot some random snaps, I did remember a few backdrops, that I got as a present from a friend not too long ago. The whole gacha set is amazing and I hope, I can find/win the ones I still miss in my collection. The “Cyberpunk Capsule *7*” was the perfect background for my look.

Jackie Skellington – A Tribute to Tim Burton

I’ve always been addicted to Tim Burton movies. Anyways if it was Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow or Sweeney Todd I do love them all and I saw them and all the others more than once! But I do love the most the “A Nightmare before Christmas” and the “Corpse Bride”. When I saw “A Nightmare before Christmas” the first time I instantly fell in love with Jack Skellington. I even had merchandising stuffs for my study equipment, bed linen and other stuffs in my room like poster and such. I do not why that clicked so bad but it did 😉 So I was so surprised when I was at CURELESS [+] and saw the Christmas Nightmare gacha – How I could miss that one?!? Certainly I had to have that no need to mention I never saw a more cool version for a female counter part of Jack Skellington.

It is hard to explain sometimes that you are not in a bad or dangerous mood if you do dark pictures. I know it might be more common to do colorful country side pictures in SL, but I discover more and more that SL has a dark, artistic fashion corner as well and the more I try the more I really do love it. When I was trained as a model or blogger in the past, people did not approve my styles or pictures to much – not because they were bad quality, more because they were not norm or mainstream conform. Back in the days when I started it was important to have at least more than 50% mainstream and RL fashion trends covered somehow, but the longer I was blogging the more I developed a feeling away from deadline duties and so called “rules” to follow. I wanted more freedom to express myself, to experiment with more than just fashion and I was sick and tired of all the same pictures over and over, without soul but only fashion information stuffed.

So I asked to be released off my blogger duties years ago and left blogger or sponsor groups, to have a fresh start and re-invent myself and my blogging/photography. For quite a while I did pictures without any sponsored designs and not for the purpose of design showcase only. I have to admit at that time it was needed to develop my picture skills and as well my blogging abilities. I thought a lot about what I felt and what I want to express, which I never did that intensive before. Before it was all about how many sponsors I can combine without looking like a clown, but still satisfy as many people and designers as I can with every post I did. It wasn’t bad all the time, but it is a different motivation and focus. Over the past 10 years of blogging, there was times where my pictures changed lightly, but most of the time they were sponsor focused only. After some time you feel a kinda burn out syndrome and past fun turns into work only.. and that killed my motivation at some point. I needed “fresh thoughts” if that makes sense. Pulling back was the right thing for me to do. For the past 1,5 years I started again to apply or take on sponsors/blogger duties, but not as many as I had before. I tried to not have just fashion pictures, I challenged myself to combine fashion with artsy touches and as well with feelings and emotions and sometimes even with a story behind the pictures. That as well made the decision easy, to not have one picture and a style card only, but to have a little picture series and sometimes a little story behind them, too.

I really got a whole new, different point of view about my blogging and the pictures. I still try to do showcases for designers and present their creations in the best light, but as well I try to bring my own twist and emotions – sometimes a little art as well – into the whole process 🙂 It brought back the fun for SL blogging and SL photography to me again and that I guess is all that matters… at least for me 😉

It was one of those days again…
It was dark, cold and misty outside and sometimes it mirrors to my inner. I would not say I hate that days, they bring out a certain type of feeling and emotions and they make you think about yourself a lot more and as well different. Life taught me to not stay too long in that moments, but as well not try to skip them either. I need them as a part of me and if they happen, I just let them for a while. I have no idea if that makes sense – I hope it does and those who had those moments too, I thin you know what I am talking about.
If I am in Second Life on such days and try to style up a look, it does something to me and my looks. It takes me longer to finish a style and the thought s and emotions go way deeper than with a usual look. It is hard to explain as 90% about it is feelings and emotions and you know how hard those are to describe 😉

Usually on such days I start off with something I bought longer ago and never had the right mood to work on it.
Today it was the “Black Parade Uniform” from CUREMORE. I fell in love with that outfit ages ago and when CURELESS [+] had their sale I could not longer resist and got the fatpack. I adore the way how CURELESS [+] as well as Moon Amore do obviously cute and frilly outfits, but they all have kinda a morbid feeling to them still. The texture work and the mesh details are amazing. Initially I had something Circus like in mind, but the more I was looking at it, trying several things the vision changed. First I added the awesome “Kate Thigh High Boots” from [Gos], which they released at UBER. I am a high boots addicted so those super cool boots were a no-brainer :p, I could not miss them in my wardrobe.

As usual the boots come in all the popular mesh body sizes and with the 3 amazing HUDs from [Gos] – Boutique, Metallic and Blueberry. You do not only have a wide variety for the colors – Even for metals and sole you get several options. As if that would not be already enough, for the “Kate Thigh High Boots” you get the option to chose from a thick or thin heel as well (like shown in the picture above)!
I do not know why, but while I was staring at my pixels to think about what I could do all of a sudden, the “Black Widow” collar from DRD popped up in my mind. First I thought it wouldn’t fit, because the uniform already had such a high neck… but it turned out, that exactly that made it fit perfectly! Sometimes it is kinda fate I guess.
For the poses and props I immediately had an idea after I added the huge back collar. I had blogged some poses of the “Necromatic” pose gacha with the skeleton, but I as well had some violin poses seen in my folder and I had a feeling, those would fit perfectly. First I used the violin and the bow that the pose had included but with the brown violin I felt a little disturbed from my vision. When I started to look for a black violin on MP I remembered I had a black skull violin from Grollwerk like in forever – I have to admit it is an old prim violin and the store already seems to have closed down, but for a picture it would do it I thought and it did 😉
I wanted to wear such a little, cute hat that makes no sense, but looks good and so I had to find a special hair, which is close to the head and not too high at the top. Certainly I found one at no.match 🙂
I love the textures and the way how no.match does their hair. I rarely have alpha glitches even with longer hair and she has the perfect size as well if hair goes down over my chest. If you followed me for while you will know, that I use no,match hair a lot :p.
Now I only needed a special makeup to satisfy my mood. I recently had the honor of being chosen to do a makeup spread in the Eclipse Magazine for ALMA (HERE). That brought ALMA back to my plate – I have to admit I know them for a while but sometimes you forget about cool stores and the more happy I was when I discovered it again and found so many new cool makeups and face art. If you are looking for something out of the box, vibrant colors or really complete, extraordinary face art, ALMA is your place of desire.
Finally after hours I was happy with my look and it did mirror exactly what I was feeling while doing it. That does not happen too often I have to admit, but I do enjoy that immensely.
Then comes that next challenge… what to use as background or scenery?!? Nothing too colorful, nothing clean but as well nothing too dark and nothing too dirty… initially that always feels like a challenge I never can work out. Sometimes I even get frustrated if I can not find the right location or built the right scenery and then I just delete my whole look as on those special days, where I am in that special mood I do not want to make any compromises as they just feel wrong and take all of the depth from the picture. Thank God there is Ironwood Hills! Ironwood Hills has so many different corners and places, that I usually find what I am looking for if I wasn’t able to built something or get an idea of what I would like to have. This time it was the old, rotten theater from Marcus Inkpen, that they have rezzed out there near the landing spot. I just had to add my music items and some broken furniture and it looked exactly as I imagined it and … the best part… it did match my feelings!!! You really should explore Ironwood Hills and I swear you won’t discover all the little details and corners on one day 😉

Surreal Dreams

I just realized I had a lot of unpacked gacha items in my inventory and so I was cleaning and sorting that huge folder, when I stumbled over the boxes of the Selenopolis gacha…

When I unpacked all the boxes… the more I saw the more I got excited! How I could I not yet have used those for pictures ?!?! I love all kind of cyber stuffs and with that kind of clothing and body modification, you can do so cool and amazing, surreal pictures.

With that kind of look, the set screams for being futuristic and surrealistic. What else than the amazing designs of E.V.E Studio would fit so amazing to that kind of style? I love the way how Noke Yuitza visions his dream worlds and with his creations it is really easy, to set up a surrealistic environment. I mixed and matched all kind of newer and older items together to create my background.

I guess I do have to unpack more and see what else got hidden in my inventory mess 😉 Maybe I discover some more cool stuff for new pictures!

Drows – A dark Fantasy

I never was a huge fan of elves, but when I first learned about Drows – dark skinned and evil elves – I had to change my mind and look more into that 😉

Second Life gives us a lot of possibilities about fantasy characters and if you know the stores for the right skins, accessories and outfits, it is really fun to step out of your human body and be a fantasy creature – even one with ‘stupid’ ears, as my partner usually says. Since I discovered the mesh ears from .:E:A:Studio:. I tend to use those kind of ears more often as they do have the most amazing ones. Just the tinting sometimes isn’t easy as the color on the ears always seems to look a little more flat than the actual body skin. Most of the times I can make it work though – thanks to Sadystika for pushing my nose into easiest solution for managing the gap of the mesh head ear alpha *hides*

Today was one of those days and with the cool new arm warmers from A&Y, it was the right time to bring the little dark elf back on. I still love the “Ginny” skin appliers from YS&YS and the skin for today is exactly one of those. Most of my fantasy skins are from YS&YS. I do not know what it is, but sometimes colors skins looks details and highlights if they are colored. With YS&YS, I always get the impression that they not just color overlay their skins, they really seem to built them up from scratch, like they do it with their human skins as well.

The “Aglaya” arm warmers from A&Y are another addition to the whole “Aglaya” collection. I already blogged about the cool corset and boots before. When I was styling I tried many other latex clothing and accessories, but none would match so perfect than the “Aglaya” collection it self and so I decided to just do it in a completely different color than before 😉

I am addicted to the A&Y clothing, hair and accessories – I rarely saw such detailed and incredible textured sci-fi clothing and her latex is just super realistic and does not have those huge, just white reflection spots that latex in SL usually has. I am just in love with everything what she does!

Those who know me… do know my favorite color is black and all shades of black*snickers* It was quite out of my comfort zone to go white for the base color. Ok I admit I tried all kind of dark colors before, but none did pop put so great with the dark Drow skin. Since I already was out of my usual comfort zone, I thought I can add some colors as well that I usually do not touch too much 😉

Using colors reminded me, that I bought a hair style from .shi lately, which would fit perfect. The “Sa-Rah V2” hair has a special option for a second haircolor all kind of colors. You can decide if you want to wear it as a full normal hair color or if you want to add some color in the front.

For a real Drow feeling I certainly needed some sharp nails or claws and certainly I found some at FORMANAILS 😉 The eyes as well could not stay human – thank god I was shopping at the CURELESS [+] sale lately and got those uber amazing “Spookshow Eyes”, that perfectly fitted to todays styling.

I will now enjoy my look a little more and see what sims I can find to get more Drow inspirations and maybe some more ideas for another post 😉

[Rocky Horror Show]

The Reanimator Gacha from DRD and their hunt and the Stein hunting, inspired me for this post…

I already had a “Dr. Stein grows funny Creatures” post not too long ago and today, I would like to make a continuation of that thought 😉

What about, if one of his creatures desires company? In German we have a phrase “Is the cat of the house, the mice dance on the table”. I do not know what this phrase is called in English, the dictionary gave me something like “When the cat is away, the mice will play.” Anyways, I guess you get my point… when the doctor is away… I can do studies and practice for my evil plan. Maybe you will discover the story I wanted to tell via my pictures 🙂

The whole set is built from the “The Reanimator” gacha by DRD while all the poses I used for this post were made by Satomi Masukami for her brand Foxcity.

I had to find a look and I wanted something cute, paired with some spooky horror. A longer time ago, I got the “Shattered Existence” applier from CURELESS [+]. I wanted to use it for such a long time, but never got a good chance for it – today was the day! When I had edited all those little staples on my face, neck and wrists, I looked at me and I have no clue why but instantly I had a school girl look in mind. The “Junko” dress from Bauhaus Movement was released longer ago, but it totally made the look I wanted. again I have to admit I do love to use older things again for my posts if they fit. I hate it, if I just try to twist and force a new release it into a picture, when it does not 100% fit. I know that many blogger struggle with deadlines and duties, but to me blogging is more than just stuff as much new releases in a post as you can. I want to create cool pictures and have fun while I am styling, building, or looking for sets and backgrounds. I get that new releases have to be posted in time to be perfect promotion, but sometimes things just do not go together and then I prefer to make more than just once post and showcase each item properly. My friend Shena Neox, as well designer and blogger manager for some popular brands, brought it on the point when she wrote a notice in a blogger group, that people should think about the brand they showcase and respect and reflect its style. In the end most designs end up in the main stores anyways and if I am not a blogger for a specific brand and just bought the items, I guess I can give them a second time promotion as they won’t get dusty in store 😉

So I had a schoolgirl outfit, some scary moments with the cool “Scattered Existence” and with the “Thauron” ears from Eclipse Art Studio, I added my little touch of fantasy and even a little more cuteness to the whole look 😉

The cool and lightly messy looking hair was made by no.match hair for the past round of COSMOPOLITAN, but I am sure you will find it at the no.match main store by now.

The amazing rings and nails – I guess you figured already – certainly were made by FORMANAILS. Who else could do such delicate, perfect shaped and ornamented hand accessories, if not Ivi Bing. This time I really cammed close into my hands as I was curious how she makes it, that all those little shapes are crip and sharp edged and not blurry and distorted. What I found was a super high-poly created, awesome shaped art piece that shows Ivi’s incredible skills. No wonder that she became so popular and so many love her little art pieces 😉

Coming back to my little story… this time I was not able to finish my studies before I heard the doctor coming back up the stairs to his lab. I quickly removed all the evidence of my secret trials and hided again in a corner of the lab, hiding a few tears that would discover me an my little experiments. He will go out again… some when… and then… then… I will try harder!
